Northern Myanmar: Bloodshed in the Golden Triangle, Have I Become a General?

Chapter 55

Chapter 55: Zhao Renzhou’s Bloody Grin

Three days later.

Jiawei Town.

Outside the villa estate.

On a hilltop in the far distance.

Two mercenaries.

Holding high-powered binoculars.

Clad in camouflage suits blending with the earthy colors.

Observing and recording information about the villa.

Approaching noon.

The burly Caucasian man on the left.

Lowered his binoculars, picked up a pen, and jotted down some notes in his notebook.

Then he turned around, lay down, and stretched lazily:

“There’s basically no issue.”

“The daily routines are all the same.”

“Occasionally, he goes up to the rooftop to keep watch.”

“He stays in the room on the second floor.”

“He doesn’t seem to be expecting any ambushes.”

He rested his hands under his head,

Crossed his legs.

Basking in the sun.

The man beside him furrowed his brow:

“Don’t cross your legs.”

“You might give us away.”

The burly man on the left sneered:

“Do you even know what you’re talking about?”

“This location is nearly two kilometers in a straight line from the villa.”

“Do you really think he can see us with the naked eye?”

“Do you think he’s an eagle?”

“Alright.”

“Let’s withdraw.”

“There are no significant issues.”

“Hurry and call the helicopter over.”

“Let’s wrap up this mission.”

“This barren place, there’s nothing here.”

“But it’s driving me crazy.”

As they spoke,

The burly Caucasian man stood up abruptly.

He pulled the other observer along.

And they headed back to their hideout.

Inside the villa.

Zhao Renzhou watched TV for a while.

Then he got up to fetch some hot water.

He poured a cup of hot tea and walked over to the window.

He blew on the tea and held it to his lips.

Seemingly observing the scenery.

But in reality, his eyes narrowed slightly.

He looked toward where the two Caucasian men were earlier.

For ordinary people,

A distance of nearly two kilometers might make it hard to see anything clearly.

But for Zhao Renzhou, who had received serum injections…

He could clearly see some changes in the landscape. Watching the earth mound with two protrusions missing, Zhao Renzhou estimated it was about to begin.

When those two protrusions first appeared, he had noticed them but didn’t make a fuss. He continued with his normal daily routine for three consecutive days.

However, today those two small black dots disappeared early, indicating they had found a good vantage point.

Zhao Renzhou put down his teacup and instructed Chi Yunmeng:

“Lock the basement door securely.”

“Don’t come out.”

Then he resumed his routine, just as in the previous days.

Until midnight.

A helicopter took off on the outskirts of Jiawei Town. It ascended to an altitude of one thousand meters before stopping its ascent.

Then, it changed direction and headed toward the villa estate. It flew rapidly, getting closer and closer to the villa. As it neared the villa, the sound of the enormous rotor blades grew louder.

This also alerted the villa guards, but the night sky was too dark, and the helicopter, from several hundred meters above, appeared as a small black dot. Its position couldn’t be discerned, so they could only remain on alert, guns at the ready.

However, as the helicopter drew nearer, even those who were slow to react began to realize that something was amiss. They saw the helicopter diving onto the rooftop of the villa. The guards reported this to Zhao Renzhou via a walkie-talkie but didn’t take further action.

After hearing the report on the walkie-talkie, Zhao Renzhou tossed it onto the bed. From the armory space, he retrieved a shotgun. It appeared instantly in his right hand. His left hand raised, gripping the magazine beneath the shotgun barrel. He pulled it back with a click, chambering a round.

He walked toward the window, a sinister smile forming on Zhao Renzhou’s lips. If everything went according to plan, there should be some action here. This was called tactics…

Outside the window…

The recently landed helicopter dropped several ropes. Nine mercenaries descended along the ropes.

Two of them slid down to the second-floor balcony, two others to the fourth-floor rooftop, and the remaining five planned to enter from the ground floor, breaking through a window. They intended to surround the bedroom on the second floor. The plan seemed right, but…

As two fully armed mercenaries slid to the second floor, the faster of the two caught sight of the scene inside the window the moment he descended.

Instantly, his hair stood on end, and an overwhelming sense of terror surged through his mind.

“Fuc….”

Desperation made his hands grip the rappelling rope tightly, attempting to prolong his time before meeting death.

However, it was futile. The inertia of his own weight caused him to fall onto the balcony without stopping, without even finishing the profanity he had begun to utter.

Zhao Renzhou’s menacing smile appeared right in front of him. The icy barrel of a gun pressed directly against the mercenary’s mouth.

Bang—!!!

It was as if a powder keg had detonated.

A tremendous sound echoed through the vast villa, exceptionally ear-piercing. The noise carried far, far away, its violent impact shattering the mercenary’s skull in an instant. With the body came crashing down on the balcony’s edge.

Due to the shattered head, blood mixed with brain matter, bursting like a water balloon, painting the surroundings red. Even Zhao Renzhou’s face, complemented by that sinister smile, looked even more terrifying.

The fear of death caused an adrenaline rush, bloodshot eyes filled with terror. The eyeball, still twitching slightly in the air, was instantly crushed underfoot with a creak…

The next mercenary, full of terror on his face, aimed his gun at Zhao Renzhou…
