Title - Timeskip 2
…
The months slipped by as Steve Rogers' new life as Captain America proceeded without much influence due to Lucas' existence.
The once ordinary streets of New York had transformed into a stage for his heroism, and with his rising fame came an avalanche of expectations and scrutiny.
The United States wanted an army of Super Soldiers, yet all they got was one, and according to the Colonel, One man can't change the course of the War.
From the moment Steve emerged from the confines of his transformation as a super-soldier, Lucas already recognized the vast potential of his abilities.
Despite his current celebrity status bestowed upon him by the United States Senate, Lucas managed to squeeze out time and began Steve's training by focusing on his striking techniques.
While Steve's enhanced physique made him an imposing force in comparison to a normal human, Lucas aimed to ensure that his strikes were not just powerful but also precise and adaptable.
Lucas introduced Steve to a variety of punching techniques, from the basics of jabs and crosses to the complex styles of hooks and uppercuts.
They practiced perfecting the mechanics of each punch, concentrating on generating power through Steve's legs and hips.
Lucas emphasized the integration of speed and strength to execute combinations capable of overwhelming an opponent quickly. To Lucas, Speed and Strength were synonymous to each other.
They progressed gradually to a variety of kicks, adapting them to fit Steve's new physiology.
Starting with fundamental kicks like front and side kicks, they advanced to more complex techniques such as roundhouse and spinning kicks.
Lucas lengthily stressed the importance of balance and control, ensuring that each kick was executed with precision and purpose.
According to Lucas, Speed and Strength without the required amount of control was just plain violence.
In close-quarters combat, the use of elbows and knees could be devastating, so Lucas trained Steve in various elbow strikes and knee attacks, incorporating them into drills that simulated real combat scenarios.
The objective was to develop Steve's ability to close the distance and deliver powerful strikes while maintaining a solid guard.
Understanding that grappling techniques were crucial for a well-rounded fighter, Lucas integrated them into Steve's training regimen.
These skills were essential for enhancing Steve's versatility in combat.
Lucas didn't want a situation where any random AI could just learn and counter Steve's fighting style effortlessly and render him unable to react.
Due to this, Lucas began with basic takedowns and progressed to advanced throws, drawing from Judo and Sambo.
Susanno wasn't the only God who took the fighting techniques and martial arts developed by humans for granted. Leucadius did too and they were currently being put to good use.
Lucas focused on leverage and body mechanics, teaching Steve and Carter to use his opponent's momentum against them to execute effective takedowns, even against stronger adversaries.
Lucas didn't know if this was a perk of the SSS, but Steve just happened to be a fast learner, so despite his intentions of making things difficult for the Super Soldier, Steve just courses through.
Carter always endeavored to join in at every opportunity she got but Lucas' hell-like training, despite him reducing the intensity was always too much for her.
Unfortunately, Lucas wasn't the kind to go easy on a lady just because she complained. So until she went unconscious, Lucas didn't halt his drills.
They spent significant time learning together and perfecting clinch techniques, a vital skill for controlling an opponent in close combat.
Lucas worked with Steve and Carter on transitioning seamlessly between strikes and clinches, teaching them to use the clinch to set up further strikes or takedowns.
Although Steve's super-soldier enhancements made him formidable, Lucas introduced submission techniques to neutralize opponents efficiently.
They practiced various holds and locks, emphasizing technique and precision over brute strength.
And although there wasn't a need for it yet, Lucas knew that in the future, individuals like Thor and Hulk would probably be rampant, not to mention the future Winter Soldier.
Defense was as crucial as offense. Lucas worked diligently to enhance Steve's and Carter's defensive skills…Steve's most especially, ensuring he was prepared for any situation.
He taught Steve a range of blocking and parrying techniques to intercept and deflect incoming attacks. They practiced developing quick reflexes and effective defensive movements to complement Steve's offensive capabilities.
To complement his defensive techniques, Lucas emphasized dodging.
Steve was forced to engage in evasion drills that involve moving the body to avoid attacks, including head movements and body shifts.
The aim was to make Steve's movements as fluid and unpredictable as possible. Incorporating counterattacking techniques, Lucas worked with Steve on responding to attacks aimed at him with precision and calculated strikes.
They practiced capitalizing on openings and exploiting weaknesses in the opponent's defenses.
He dedicated a substantial portion of their training to refining Steve's footwork, ensuring he could move efficiently and adapt to dynamic combat situations.
Lucas introduced Steve to both basic and advanced footwork techniques.
They practiced maintaining balance while moving and changing angles swiftly. Lucas emphasized maintaining a low center of gravity and staying light on his feet.
Pivoting was crucial for changing direction and angle during combat, so he taught Steve various pivoting techniques, guiding him to rotate on the ball of his foot to adjust his position and create openings for attacks.
Carter had the laugh of her life at seeing Steve dance like a ballet dancer, and despite his embarrassment, Lucas ensured he completed it
…
As the months passed and Steve was gradually getting used to his identity as a celebrity to help boost the morale of the civilians, he also put in his full attention into training with Lucas whenever the opportunity presented itself.
Others might not notice, but he could feel himself getting stronger the more he trained with Lucas. The proof of that was shown when he single handedly went behind enemy lines to rescue his friend, Bucky.
Steve felt that the mission would've gone a whole lot differently if he hadn't trained, but he couldn't be sure so he put the thought behind him. However, he was impressed by how masterfully he handled the Nazis.
It was so easy that he wondered if they were soldiers in the first place, but upon encountering Red Skull, he realized that he truly had left the scopes of normal Humans.
Although Red Skull still managed to escape, Steve was proud of having held his own against a person that could be considered his senior.
With that, he resumed earnest Training with Lucas upon his return.
The Colonel had decided to waive his offense due to his merits which was a good thing, but good things don't always mean good news.
With his recent escapade, Steve was promoted to Captain and with that rank, he was able to create a team of his own. And with such a status, he couldn't waste his time any longer.
And so, before he could be deployed, he had Lucas teach him everything he needed to learn from him since despite all he'd learnt, he still wasn't able to comfortably land a hit on Lucas.
…
Upon seeing his determination, Lucas smiled happily and opted to force everything humanly possible into Steve's mind and body. He underscored the importance of perfecting form and technique, essential for executing movements effectively and efficiently.
Lucas introduced Steve to various stances, including basic stances for stability and readiness.
They practiced transitioning between stances and maintaining proper alignment to maximize the effectiveness of their techniques.
While forms were not traditionally part of Steve's training, Lucas introduced him to the concept as a means to develop technique and discipline.
They practiced pre-arranged sequences of movements, focusing on precision and fluidity.
Lucas taught Steve various breathing techniques to control his breath and manage energy. They practiced deep breathing and controlled exhalations to enhance Steve's performance and endurance.
Physical conditioning was crucial for Steve's overall performance. Lucas incorporated a comprehensive conditioning program into their regimen.
Steve didn't know it, but Lucas was basically giving him the full League of Shadow's skills and techniques. However, he tweaked them all since unlike the assassins that were forcefully made super Humans, Steve was already a super human.
Lucas designed endurance training routines to improve Steve's stamina and cardiovascular health.
They included running with Graviton belts, swimming with graviton swimsuits, and circuit training to build Steve's overall endurance.
To complement Steve's natural strength, Lucas incorporated strength training exercises to build muscle and enhance power. They utilized weightlifting, resistance exercises, and bodyweight training.
Flexibility was vital for improving Steve's range of motion, Lucas included stretching and mobility exercises in their routine to prevent injuries and enhance performance.
Mental skills were integral to Steve's success in combat, so Lucas worked with him to develop focus, discipline, and strategy.
Due to Lucas' emphasis on the importance of maintaining focus during training and combat, Steve practiced concentration exercises and mindfulness techniques to help him stay present and sharp.
Lucas didn't know if this would help him cope in his time as a popsicle, but hopefully, it doesn't. He wouldn't want a mentally old Steve in a young man's body.
Towards what the world perceived to be the end of the war, Lucas and Steve focused on developing combat strategies and tactics suitable for Steve alone.
They analyzed various scenarios and practiced planning and executing techniques based on their opponent's actions.
Lucas ensured that Steve was prepared for any situation, including self-defense scenarios. He taught Steve to recognize and respond to potential threats as not all attacks aimed at him were threats.
They worked on escape techniques to help Steve get out of dangerous holds or situations. He also introduced Steve to techniques for managing aggressive opponents without causing undue harm.
They practiced control and restraint methods to handle various situations effectively.
Though Steve's primary focus was hand-to-hand combat, Lucas introduced him to basic weapon training to broaden his skill set.
The weapons ranged from daggers, guns, staffs, and swords. Of course they were all unnecessary considering the era, but Lucas felt Old school was always best.
Plus, with decent training, humans could slash at bullets despite their speed, what more a super soldier?
And so, Lucas taught Steve the fundamentals of handling traditional martial arts weapons, such as sticks and knives.
Lucas worked with Steve and the entire SSR on defending against armed attackers.
Although asking the soldiers to attack Steve was a bit harsh, Lucas made sure to give them a handicap. Should Steve injure any one of them beyond a reasonable extent, he'd have to go through his Hell-Level drill.
Carter had shivered at the mention of the punishment and Steve's face turned Ice cold as he went into an extreme state of focus.
Their various reactions had sent the group of soldiers into a state of confusion and none of the three blamed them. The saying: Ignorance is Bliss actually had a bit of legitimacy in the current situation.
To Lucas, Sparring was a vital component of their training since it provided Steve with realistic scenarios to test his skills so they both engaged in controlled sparring sessions to apply their techniques in a practical context.
And soon, Lucas found himself in Red Skull's Vintage Military Vehicle, a 1940 Willy Jeep, alongside the Colonel, Carter and Steve.
One moment they were moving at the vehicle's top speed while chasing the Aircraft, the next moment the Aircraft accelerated causing the colonel to flip a casing open and press a button.
'Ooh a nitro.' Lucas thought I'm amazement as the vehicle accelerated to match the Aircraft. 'I am definitely keeping this vehicle after this.'
'{Sir…}
'What?'
'{I don't think that's necessary.}'
'I decide what's necessary, Aspect. I thought we'd already settled on that.'
'{... Apologies.}'
"Keep it steady!" Steve exclaimed as he stood up in preparation to mount the Aircraft through the wheels.
"Wait!" Carter suddenly cried out causing Steve to turn, and as he did, he was met with the face of Carter who was moving in for a kiss. It took a few seconds for Steve to come back to his senses as he looked at Carter.
It was only when she said, "Go get him." that he finally came to his senses and looked at the colonel.
"What? I'm not kissing you!" Colonel Phillips said while shaking his head causing Steve to look at Lucas who was giving him a look with a mischievous smile.
"I would've given you one, but I'm afraid my partner here might kill me." Lucas said with a chuckle while throwing a glance at Carter. "Still, go get him. I have this perfect song prepared for that dance you promised her."
Steve looked at him with a gratified smile and nodded before placing his shield on his back.
Lucas watched Steve gradually and carefully walk on the sides of the Vehicle while making his way towards the Aircraft. He knew this would be the last time he'd see his latest student in this lifetime and couldn't help but throw Carter a glance.
'Hah, whatever. There's nothing I hate more than seeing a couple torn apart by the machinations of fate! I'll do them a favor this one time.' Lucas thought righteously to himself.
'{Sir, you've watched in relish as so many couples are torn apart…}'
'Aspect…'
'{Apologies, sir.}'
'Ugh.'
