Chapter 73 The Torment Begins

The visitor is tall and strong, with a calm temperament like a mountain. His entire body, including his face, is covered in black clothes, leaving no inch of skin exposed. A mask, goggles, and helmet obscure his face, giving off a chilling and cold vibe. A long knife hangs from his waist, and red flames surround the back of his head along with black wings. It's Jhin the Scourge, the "big sign" of the Beasts Pirates.

Sensing the gloom and anger on Kaido's face, Jhin immediately understands that the recruiting operation isn't going well. Kaido shakes his head, his tone laced with anger, "Those two guys are very arrogant, and they are not so easy to subdue." But as he ponders for a moment, he suddenly laughs again. "One is a killing machine that slaughtered an entire national army, and the other is a Marine monster who killed Byrnndi Valdo and made Roger suffer. It would be too boring for them to bow down to me so easily."

Jhin keenly notices Kaido's admiration for these two individuals in the depths of his eyes and can't help but frown. "Boss Kaido, I don't think it is a wise choice to keep them alive if they are unwilling to submit," he cautiously reminds, his tone inexplicably cautious.

At this time, Jhin is only seventeen or eighteen years old, but he behaves with maturity, meticulousness, and calmness far beyond his age. As the second in command of the Beasts Pirates, Jhin is very clear about his most important responsibilities: to prevent the captain from doing anything irrational or foolish. This characteristic of Kaido's, wanting to do foolish things, is precisely why Jhin chooses to follow him. Examples include deliberately getting caught by the Marine or planning the largest war in the world. To put it nicely, it's a man's romance, but to put it poorly, it's a moment of madness.

"Those two guys are rebellious and not easily subdued," Jhin continues. "If something goes wrong during the detention and they escape, our base camp's location could be leaked." Kaido can't help but laugh at Jhin's words, "Abel, I am very lucky to have you as my deputy." He uses Jhin's original name, a secret between them. "But I believe that they will surrender to me."

There's Haki and confidence in Kaido's tone. "Especially Rogers Darren, the 'Marine scum'. With his character and methods, he's simply born to be a pirate! It's a pity he chose to be a Marine instead of a pirate! Sooner or later, he will realize that the free sea is his true destination!"

"As for that kid Douglas Bullet...I see in his eyes a strong desire and ambition to become stronger, which is easier to manage. I will give him a few days to recover from his injuries. Once he is completely healed, I'll give him a chance to fight me fairly! When the time comes, I will let him, no, let them both see just how terrifying the 'strongest creature' in this sea is! With absolute crushing strength... I'll conquer their hearts!"

"Oohhhhhh!!" Kaido raises his head and laughs heartily, lifting the large mace in his hand high. His heroic laughter echoes through the sky as if the earth is shaking.

Jhin looks at the energetic Kaido in front of him with admiration, feeling a surge in his heart, but his hands clench silently. "I hope so, Mr. Kaido..." he murmurs to himself.

In a dark prison, sinister laughter continues to emanate, and Queen, the big fat man in overalls, looks at the two "toys" that now belong to him, dancing triumphantly.

Against the backdrop of the fire, the chubby, fleshy ball showed a flexibility that was not expected of its size, and the corners of Darren's and Bullet's mouths twitched in disbelief. They couldn't help but look at each other. 

"Is this guy an idiot?" 

"Who knows?"

Though both prisoners, Darren and Bullet actually felt a sense of camaraderie at that moment. 

"What kind of eyes do you have! I saw it! Don't think I can't see it because I wear sunglasses!" Queen suddenly stopped dancing and rushed up viciously, his chubby face twisted slightly as he bit a cigar between the gaps in the iron bars. 

"You dare to look at the great scientist Mr. Queen with such eyes. It seems that you must suffer a little bit." There was a ferocious smile on the corner of Queen's mouth as he opened the iron bars with a click. 

"Although you two prisoners may not be able to create much trouble, for the convenience of the next experiment..." Using his robotic prosthetic limb, he carefully picked up two shackles and placed them directly on Darren and Bullet. Darren and Bullet didn't have any strength to resist at all; they could only let Queen do as he pleased.

Snap! The moment the shackles were locked, Darren's expression changed, and his pupils shrank sharply. Weakness and loss of strength hit him like a wave, sweeping away his consciousness and forcing him to hold on to the railing of the iron cage tightly, like a drowning sailor clinging to a piece of wreckage. Bullet fell limply on the ground, unable to move. 

Seastone shackles! And definitely high-purity seastone shackles! 

"Hey hey hey, even we Beasts Pirates don't have many of such shackles..." Queen grinned strangely and proudly puffed out his big belly. 

"Then, let's begin..." Hearing a click, Queen's mechanical arm suddenly reassembled and turned into a syringe, the slender and sharp needle gleaming with a cold light. Darren and Bullet's complexions changed slightly, their hearts sinking quickly, as a layer of cold sweat gradually oozed from their backs.

Unable to resist, they were being stared at obscenely and excitedly by a perverse, big fat man holding a needle and who liked to wear overalls. Even with hearts as tough as steel, they couldn't help but feel a creepy sensation, their scalps tingling. 

"Don't worry, I won't let you die so easily. I'm the best scientist in the world, and I'm not the same as the shoddy and inferior grades of Germa 66." Queen smiled strangely and took out rows of sealed test tubes from a toolbox. 

"Have you seen this? This is the latest mummy virus developed by the great Lord Queen." He picked up one of the test tubes filled with green fluorescent liquid and lifted it in the air with a frenzied face so Darren and Bullet could see it. 

"I will control the toxicity of the mummy virus to a low level and let you experience hellish torture! You can't live, but you can't die! Hahahaha!" After finishing his words, Queen involuntarily drew out a tube of virus liquid with the needle of his robotic arm, moved his obese body, and walked towards Darren step by step. 

"Your injuries are slightly less serious, starting with you, Marine." The gleaming needle was raised high, reflected in Darren's tightly constricted pupils, and then directly pierced Darren's neck! 

Snapped! The needle broke.
