Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Meeting Luffy

The warm sun bathed Foosha Village in golden light, the sea breeze carrying whispers of an unfamiliar presence. Word spread quickly: Shadow, the feared bounty hunter, had arrived and was drinking in Makino's bar. Villagers peeked cautiously from behind doors and windows, unsure of what this mysterious figure wanted in their quiet town.

At the mention of Shadow's name, a certain rubber boy perked up. Luffy's grin stretched ear to ear as he bolted down the dirt path toward the bar, excitement bubbling inside him.

At Makino's Bar

Shadow sat at a small table near the corner, his black mask and cloak giving him an air of silent menace. The table before him held an untouched plate of food and a half-empty glass of rum. Makino, ever the gracious host, served him quietly but couldn't help stealing glances at the enigmatic figure.

The door burst open with a bang, and Luffy's unmistakable voice rang out. "Oi, Shadow! Are you really the famous bounty hunter?"

Shadow didn't look up from his drink. "Who's asking?"

"I'm Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm going to be the King of the Pirates!" Luffy declared, his chest puffed out with pride. "Join my crew! I need strong people like you!"

Shadow took a sip of his rum, unfazed. "Not interested."

Luffy's jaw dropped. "What? Why not?"

Shadow finally glanced at him, his eyes cold. "You're too loud. I don't join crews."

Luffy plopped into the seat across from Shadow, uninvited, and grinned. "Then I'll just keep asking until you say yes!"

Shadow sighed, finishing his drink and rising from the table. "You're persistent. I'll give you that." He tossed some coins onto the bar. "But no means no."

Into the Jungle

Shadow walked into the jungle just outside the village, hoping to escape the noisy straw-hatted boy. Birds chirped overhead, and leaves rustled in the breeze. But behind him, the sound of crunching footsteps followed closely.

"Oi! Wait up!" Luffy shouted, leaping from tree roots and bouncing after him.

Shadow stopped, turning slightly. "What do you want, kid? I told you no."

Luffy planted his feet firmly, his arms crossed. "If you're so strong, why wouldn't you want to join me? We're going to find the One Piece! It'll be fun!"

Shadow let out a dry chuckle. "Fun? I have enemies that would tear your little crew apart. If you travel with me, you'll die before you even see the Grand Line."

Luffy's grin didn't waver. "If you're afraid of them, how can you call yourself strong? How can you even dream of becoming the best if you're scared?"

Shadow's gaze hardened. "It's not fear, kid. It's common sense."

Luffy stomped his foot. "Common sense won't make me the King of the Pirates!"

Shadow studied him for a moment before his lips curved into a faint smirk beneath the mask. "Fine. I'll join your crew—on one condition."

"What is it?!" Luffy asked, practically bouncing with anticipation.

Shadow drew his sword, the blade gleaming in the sunlight filtering through the trees. "Beat me. If you can do that, I'll consider it."

Luffy grinned wider, cracking his knuckles. "Alright! Let's do this!"

The sun cast long shadows across the jungle clearing as Luffy and Shadow stood facing each other. Luffy's fists were clenched, his trademark grin plastered on his face. Shadow, calm and imposing in his black mask and cloak, exuded an aura of unshakable confidence, his sword untouched at his side.

Luffy tilted his head. "A swordsman who doesn't use his sword? What's the point?"

Shadow's voice was cool and measured. "If you can push me to use it, then I will."

Luffy's grin widened. "Alright, you asked for it!"

Luffy launched forward, his arm stretching far back. "Gum-Gum Pistol!" he yelled, his fist rocketing toward Shadow.

Shadow stood motionless until the last moment, sidestepping the attack with ease. Luffy's fist slammed into a tree, splintering it, but Shadow didn't flinch.

"Too slow," Shadow remarked.

Luffy growled, pulling back both fists. "Gum-Gum Bazooka!" he roared, thrusting them forward with immense force.

Shadow's Observation Haki activated, allowing him to see the attack before it came. He ducked and twisted, the air from Luffy's strike whipping past him but leaving him untouched.

Luffy's frustration mounted. "Why won't you use your sword?!"

"Because you haven't earned it," Shadow replied coldly. "Show me you're worth it."

Determined, Luffy leaped into the air. "Gum-Gum Whip!" His leg stretched and lashed out like a whip, aiming to sweep Shadow off his feet.

Shadow hopped lightly, avoiding the strike and landing gracefully. Luffy pressed on, twisting mid-air. "Gum-Gum Gatling!" A flurry of fists rained down, each one faster and harder than the last.

Shadow's movements became a blur as he dodged every punch with incredible precision, weaving through the assault as if dancing. Not a single strike landed.

Luffy growled in frustration. "You're just running!"

Shadow's response was swift. His fist, coated in Armament Haki, shot forward and connected with Luffy's stomach. The impact sent Luffy flying back, crashing into a tree.

Luffy coughed, stunned. "W-what the—? How'd you do that? My rubber body should've bounced it off!"

Shadow stepped closer, his dark eyes cold. "Haki. It bypasses your Devil Fruit defenses. You've felt this before, haven't you? From your grandfather."

Luffy's eyes widened in realization. "You're just like Gramps!"

Refusing to give up, Luffy pulled himself to his feet. "Gum-Gum Bell!" he shouted, stretching his neck and slamming his head toward Shadow.

Shadow tilted his head slightly, the attack grazing his shoulder. Before Luffy could recover, Shadow countered with a precise strike to his ribs, sending him sprawling again.

Luffy clenched his fists, determination burning in his eyes. "You think I'll just give up? Gum-Gum Rifle!" His arm twisted as it extended, spinning with incredible speed and force.

Shadow met it head-on, his Armament Haki-coated forearm deflecting the blow effortlessly. The clash echoed through the jungle, but Shadow remained unfazed.

"Is this all the King of the Pirates can do?" Shadow taunted.

Luffy let out a roar of frustration, pushing himself beyond his limits. "Gum-Gum Storm!" His fists and legs moved at lightning speed, unleashing a storm of attacks from every angle.

Shadow's Observation Haki saw through the chaos, and with a final, deliberate strike to Luffy's chest, he ended the barrage. Luffy collapsed to his knees, gasping for air.

Shadow crossed his arms, his voice steady. "You've got potential, but you lack control and focus. You're not ready."

Luffy looked up, sweat dripping down his face. "Then teach me! I'll get stronger!"

Shadow turned away, his voice softer. "I'll be staying in this village for a month. If you can defeat me or force me to draw my sword by then, I'll join you."

Luffy grinned despite the pain. "You're on!"

Shadow paused, glancing back. "Here's some advice. Use your rubber body to accelerate your blood flow. It'll give you tremendous speed and strength. Or inject air into your body to create massive attacks. Experiment with it."

Luffy's eyes lit up with curiosity. "I can do that?"

Shadow nodded. "Think about it. You've got potential, but potential means nothing if you don't refine it."

As he walked away, Shadow's inner thoughts swirled. "This is a process to make Luffy as strong as possible before departing. He has more potential than Zoro—he can learn faster. If I can teach him Gear 2 and 3, and maybe even Armament Haki, he'll be unstoppable."

Before disappearing into the trees, Shadow turned and added, "I'll come back tomorrow for a rematch."

Luffy, still kneeling, clenched his fists and grinned. "I'll beat you next time!" he declared, the fire of determination burning in his eyes.

hoo! He is the main character for nothing. Can just fighting him for a while earn me this big time?

should I just him for a month and farm SP from him?

he he he! My golden goose.

I will make my Cash cow…sorry Captain as strong as possible before departing and squeezing you dry.

(A/N don't make it Gay readers)

Should I teach him some Observation haki too? He goes strong as long he fights strong opponents. Maybe I should play the role of a villain like Kaido.

If I become a villain, his plot armor will defeat me. Either his long-lost DAD will pop up, Garp with his warship flying in the sky with his Galaxy Impact, or Shanks with his Wi-Fi conquering Haki.

( A/N: Shanks uses his haki to inflict damage on enemies from Hundreds of kilometers away)

Hey, System who is strong?

You or the plot armor of Luffy?

System "…"

Rashed: After joining his crew I will have both. Double plot armor. Maybe 1 for Rashed and 1 for Shadow. Someday maybe Dragon will help me in a pinch.

He he he!

If you have the resource why don't you use it?

Efficiency is the Key. Right System?

SYSTEM: " You are shameless just admit it. You don't even pick a fight out of your league. I don't think you need plot armor that much. I can already imagine running away from Garp or Sengoku after insulting them about justice in their face'

RASHED: oh my you me too much. Focus on programming the System. I want to buy a nuke as soon as possible. Remove the power level restriction from the shop.
