One Piece: How Can I Become King Of The Pirate If You Don’t Work Hard?

Chapter 79: Friendship

Baratie, in the kitchen.

Carne was directing a group of chefs, taking stock of recent losses and converting them into a bill.

Even a few zeros were quietly added after some of the numbers.

Patty was slightly stunned when he saw this scene and then said: "Is it not good for us to do this, right?"

Carne glanced at him and said calmly: "On top of those lost kitchen utensils are our priceless memories. I'm already giving him a discount!"

"I'm at a loss!"

Before Carne could finish his words, Zeff snatched the bill in his hand away.

After taking a closer look, he asked Carne to change the numbers on it.

"Some money is hard to spend even if you are lucky enough to get it."

Carne rubbed his head awkwardly.

Patty, on the side, rolled his eyes and asked: "Speaking of which, what kind of past did that brat have with the princess of the Kingdom of Goa?"

Hearing this, the chefs around put down their work and quickly gathered over.

Chef hats of all sizes crowded in front of Zeff.

Looking at these chefs with curious faces, Zeff wanted to refuse directly as he had done before, but suddenly he remembered something, pulled out a bench and sat down, smoked the pipe from time to time, and slowly said:

"At that time, the Baratie had just opened, and its reputation had just spread. The princess of the Kingdom of Goa brought her knights here to dine."

"By the way, at that time, White Knight Gawain was also one of Princess Guinevere's personal guards, but he was not as conspicuous as he is now."

"That brat Sanji couldn't even walk when he saw the princess."

At this point, everyone present smiled knowingly. After all, who could understand Sanji's style better than them?

Among the female regular customers who come to the restaurant, more than half come here for Sanji.

Zeff couldn't help but smile: "He made the tomato beef soup he had just learned and took the opportunity to serve it to the table."

"To be honest, when I opened the lid and looked at that indescribable thing, my heart sank."

"After Princess Guinevere found out about this, instead of blaming him, she ate up all the tomato soup right in front of Sanji and even kissed him on the forehead before leaving..."

"Why else do you think Sanji has so much affection for that princess?"

...

At the same time, Gawain was in the room, feasting on bread and tomato soup.

The beef was soft and tasty, and the aroma of tomatoes mixed with the flavor of spices made him exclaim in satisfaction.

"Tasty!"

"Your skills have improved a lot. That thing was so disgusting to me to look back then."

Sanji's mouth twitched, but he didn't know how to refute it.

In less than a minute, a bowl of tomato soup mixed with several large pieces of bread entered Gawain's stomach.

He let out a long breath and felt like he was alive again. Only Sanji was staring out the window in a daze.

"So she not only lied to me but also to you? In a sense, we can be said to be in sympathy with each other."

Sanji said self-deprecatingly, then cleared the tableware, raised his hand to loosen his tie, and prepared to turn around and leave.

Gawain couldn't help but say: "Remember our previous bet?"

"If I survive, you will come with me. I need a professional cook on my ship!"

Sanji paused, waved at Gawain, and said: "I have never acknowledged such a one-sided bet. Besides, I have reasons to stay here."

"That old man saved my life!"

Gawain's mouth curled up into a smile: "So it's not that you don't want to, but you still have some ties here, right?"

Sanji did not answer but walked out of the room slowly, closed the door behind him, and said: "Take good care of your injuries!"

Bang!

The door was closed.

After having a full meal and looking at the scenery outside the window, Gawain closed his eyes and listened to the sound of the waves outside the window.

His heart calmed down after a while.

Not long after, the sound of even breathing was heard in the room.

Time flies, and night falls gradually.

The night wind blew, and the hull swayed, gradually rising and falling along with the wave.

On deck, seeing that everyone had temporarily repaired the damaged parts of the ship, Zeff planned to set off for a nearby harbor.

After all, the detached extended deck needed to be repaired, and the supplies on the ship also needed to be replenished urgently.

Just as he was about to give the order to set sail, a whistle suddenly came from the sea in the distance.

Zeff looked up.

Then, two pirate ships were seen speeding towards the location of the Baratie from the distant horizon.

The pirate flag with a skull and a round shield as the background is extremely conspicuous, even under the moonlight.

"White Knight Pirate."

Zeff stopped what he was doing.

Soon, the two pirate ships stopped in front of the Baratie.

On the leading pirate ship, the gangway was lowered.

Kuro hurried down from the boat, followed closely by Gin and Nami.

The three of them looked around but did not find Gawain or Hawk Eyes.

The only thing they saw was the badly damaged ship in front of them. Their hearts were in their throats for a moment.

Without waiting for Kuro and the others to ask questions, Zeff speaks first: "Hawk Eyes has left. Your companion is on the ship, and they are fine."

Everyone couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief while Kuro said urgently: "Where's Gawain?!"

"In the room upstairs."

"Take me there."

Zeff looked at Patty beside him, who immediately understood and gave a smile that he thought was friendly but was actually quite ferocious.

"Come with me."

Kuro frowned slightly, left a few people to watch the boat, and took Gin and Nami with Patty to go toward Gawain and Zoro's direction.

Inside the room, Gawain had just woken up and was about to turn over when he saw the door open violently, and Kuro walked in with a dark face.

"Asshole!"

"You want to bear everything by yourself. Have you ever asked us?"

After speaking, Kuro wanted to punch Gawain, but when he saw the bandage on his chest, he changed his action and instead grabbed Gawain by the collar and lifted him up from the bed: "If you don't know what captain means, then you might as well let me take the position!"

"We are willing to follow you, not for you to solve all the problems by yourself!"

"We will face all the difficulties together!"

Gin grabbed Kuro's arm and said in a deep voice: "Kuro! Let go!"

Kuro then put Gawain down angrily, but he also turned his head to look out the window, gritted his teeth, and said: "If you die in the East Blue, who will lead everyone to the Grand Line and take the title of Warlord? And how will I regain my position as captain?"

Gawain looked at Kuro in front of him, and a smile appeared on his face: "You, a cold-blooded fellow, have changed a lot!"

After speaking, he turned around and found that Nami beside him had already burst into tears.

"Mr. Gawain..."

The pirates who came with Kuro also set their sights on Gawain. They breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that he was only slightly injured and was not seriously injured.

They just felt like they had found their backbone again.

Gawain was a little dazed for a moment, and he didn't know when he had been carrying the expectations of so many people.

"I seem to be a little willful."
