One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 41: Chapter 41: Infiltration Failed? Time to Storm In!

In this world, apart from the Red Line, most of the land is scattered across islands of various sizes.

Renske Port is under the rule of the Kingdom of Wetna and serves as the only port city on Ailen Island. Technically, you could land on other parts of the island, but most of the coastline is steep cliffs, dense forests teeming with beasts, and unknown venomous creatures. Even the most formidable pirate crews would think twice before attempting to dock elsewhere.

Based on the information he got from Lauren, Jack decided to leave most of the crew behind to guard the ship. He only brought along a handful of trusted companions, including Rim and Holdem, to infiltrate Renske.

Although Wetna is called a kingdom, it has only a few cities, with Renske as its capital. The other two kingdoms on Ailen Island—Aer and Cusa—have even smaller territories. Jack had carefully weighed his options before leaving most of his pirates at the port. On one hand, it was to guard against potential reinforcements from Wetna. On the other, he didn't want some reckless, opportunistic pirate crew damaging his beloved Mammoth.

Not that Jack was worried about fighting off enemies. His officers were competent, and apart from a few greenhorns, most of his hundred-plus crew were seasoned fighters who had followed Kaido into countless battles. Any crew foolish enough to challenge the Beast Pirates wouldn't last long. And if it came to a retreat, the watchmen could spot enemies from afar and sail the Mammoth to safety.

As for Wetna's forces? Jack wasn't too concerned. The total population of the three kingdoms on Ailen Island barely reached 400,000. Years of war had drastically reduced the number of able-bodied men. With the Mammoth's firepower, taking them down wouldn't be an issue.

Thanks to Roger's parting words, many talented and ambitious individuals had long abandoned their homelands to chase adventure on the seas. Sure, some might aim to rule their kingdoms, but Ailen Island, with its sparse population and meager resources, wasn't exactly a tempting prize.

Jack suspected Kaido had sent him here out of sheer spite. Perhaps Kaido still held a grudge against some stingy clients from his days as a weapons dealer.

Lauren's strength seemed to be the upper limit for this place. If Wetna had more warriors like him, Jack could only wish his men good luck.

Rim, who had a bounty on his head, had been forced to disguise himself. Jack made him tie up his hair, wear a plain outfit, and hide under Bark's wide-brimmed hat. He looked much less conspicuous now. Jack and the others also donned simpler clothing and hid their hardened faces, so as not to frighten the locals.

After venturing into the forest and taming a few massive beasts, Jack transformed into his mammoth form to teach them who was boss. The once-ferocious animals obediently became their mounts, carrying them towards Renske.

"Remember, once we reach Renske, keep a low profile," Jack instructed. "This is someone's kingdom, after all. Let's show some respect. And make sure to find out where that woman is—we need answers."

As they approached Renske, its tall but dilapidated gates loomed ahead.

"Look! Beasts!"

"Shut the gates! Quickly!"

"Wait… Are those people up there?"

"People or not, they can't be good news! Shut it tight!"

"Besides, look at the size of that guy leading them. No way he's one of us!"

Jack's arrival sent the gate guards into a panic. Seeing the massive wolves, snarling lions, and salivating predators with razor-sharp teeth, the guards slammed the gates shut. The squad captain, trembling with fear, nearly wet himself.

The gates had barely closed when Jack and his crew reached them.

"Knock! Knock!"

"Hey!" Jack called out. "Open the gates! We're good people, I swear!"

"These are just our… uh… lifelong companions. No need to panic!"

But no matter how much they shouted, the guards inside stayed silent.

"Come on! I can see you hiding in there! Don't play dumb!" Jack's patience wore thin. "Open up! I'll even pay you!"

When that didn't work, Jack clenched his fists, his irritation rising. He could sense through his Observation Haki that the guards were bracing the gates with all their might.

"Boss, what should we do?" Rim asked hesitantly. "The infiltration seems to have failed…"

"Failed?" Jack's eyes gleamed red. "Then we'll just storm in."

With a thunderous roar, Jack transformed into his massive mammoth form. The nearby beasts cowered in submission, while an ostrich-like creature tried to bury its head in the ground—only to knock itself out on a rock.

"If they won't open the gates, we'll give them a reason to regret it!" Jack bellowed. His trunk rose high before slamming down like a sledgehammer.

Boom!

The heavy gates shattered under the force, sending debris flying. A few unlucky guards were crushed on the spot, while the rest scrambled in terror.

"Let's go," Jack growled, transforming back into his human form. He led Rim and the others inside, their tamed beasts following behind.

Meanwhile, the dazed ostrich-like creature woke up, glanced around, and bolted into the city.

"See? I told you they weren't friendly…" one of the guards whimpered before collapsing.

Jack turned to Holdem with a smirk. "That bird's got guts. Take good care of it."

The bird, now dubbed the "loyal chicken," clucked enthusiastically and trotted over to Holdem.
