Chapter 147: Chapter 147: Edie vs the Five Elders!

"The blood smells so bad…"

Kaido wrinkled his nose in disgust before glancing back at the mangled body of Saint Charlos. The reason for the stench became apparent—incontinence.

"Disgusting," he muttered, kicking the corpse aside like garbage.

Before Kaido could brood further, a shadow descended from above.

"Kaido-sama."

The dark silhouette of King, in his full Pteranodon form, landed swiftly beside Kaido. His sharp eyes darted to the grotesque remains of Charlos and then to the trembling bodyguards dressed in black suits.

"Saint Charlos… is dead! Run!" one of them shouted, panic overtaking any shred of composure.

The bodyguards scattered, tripping over themselves in a desperate attempt to flee. They knew their fates were sealed; even if they survived now, the World Government would execute them for their failure later.

"Pathetic lackeys of the Celestial Dragons," King sneered. His massive wings flared, hard as steel and sharp as blades. With a single motion, they became instruments of death, slicing through the fleeing bodyguards like the scythe of the Grim Reaper.

"King, stay outside," Kaido ordered coldly, his gaze fixed on the boundary dome ahead. "No Celestial Dragon leaves alive."

"Yes, Kaido-sama." King remained vigilant, his predatory eyes scanning for escapees.

Kaido strode toward the dome without hesitation. The defensive lasers of the Holy Land activated, firing beams of concentrated energy at his massive frame.

Boom!

The impact sent smoke billowing into the air. For a moment, everything was obscured.

"That's it? Boring," Kaido's voice rumbled through the haze as his silhouette emerged unscathed. The lasers had scorched his skin, but they were far from enough to hinder him.

Before awakening his Azure Dragon Fruit, such defenses might have posed a threat. Now, they were merely an annoyance.

"Hundred Beasts Kaido!"

The voice was sharp and commanding. Akainu, One of the 3 Admirals of the Marines, stood alone, his Justice cloak billowing behind him. His cold gaze flicked to the corpse of Charlos lying outside the dome, and his lips curled in contempt.

"So, the outside world calls the three Admirals of your generation the strongest in history."

Kaido grinned wickedly and approached Akainu, hefting his massive kanabo mace with both hands. "But only you came? Pathetic. Let's see if you live up to the hype."

Without warning, Kaido swung his mace in a devastating arc aimed at Akainu's head.

"Stopping you? I'm enough!"

Akainu's voice boomed as his right fist transformed into molten lava. He met Kaido's blow head-on, fist colliding with mace.

Boom!!

The clash of their Haki sent a shockwave rippling outward, lightning crackling in the air. The ground beneath Akainu's feet cracked and collapsed under the sheer force.

"Did Edie miscalculate?" Kaido mused, his golden eyes narrowing. "Even now, the Marines are still meddling."

"The Celestial Dragons are already on Sabaody Archipelago," Akainu sneered. His voice was mocking, his words sharp as a blade. "The only ones left here are the Five Elders and the World Summit participants."

The lava on Akainu's fists intensified as he added, "Frankly, I don't care about the Celestial Dragons. They can rot. But a pirate thinking he can waltz in here like he owns the place? That I won't allow!"

With a roar, Akainu's left fist shot forward, a blazing torrent of molten rock aimed directly at Kaido's chest.

Dark Hound!

The fiery punch struck true, searing into Kaido's chest with a sickening sizzle. The force sent the massive pirate sliding backward, his feet digging into the stone ground, carving deep grooves as he was pushed back several meters.

"Even among Logias, my power is the strongest," Akainu declared, standing his ground and blocking Kaido's path to Pangaea Castle.

Kaido came to a stop, brushing away the magma still clinging to his chest. The scales underneath, hardened by his Zoan awakening, bore only minor burns.

He laughed, a deep, guttural sound that echoed ominously. "That's your strongest? A tickle at best."

Emerald flames began to flicker around Kaido's body as he shifted into his hybrid form, a hulking fusion of man and dragon. His cyan scales shimmered like armor, and his presence became even more monstrous.

"If you want to kill me, call Sengoku. Call Garp. You? You're not enough!"

Kaido surged forward again, his massive mace swinging in a ferocious arc.

Thunder Bagua!

Akainu, fully aware of the power behind the attack, concentrated all his Armament Haki into his arms and raised them to block. The impact was catastrophic.

Boom!!

The force of the blow sent Akainu hurtling backward like a ragdoll. His body skidded across the ground, shattering the cobblestones and carving a deep trench hundreds of meters long. Dust and debris filled the air as the stone bricks crumbled away, revealing the bare earth beneath.

Kaido stood tall, his imposing figure framed by the destruction he'd wrought. His grin widened, his eyes gleaming with savage glee.

"Come on, Fleet Admiral. Show me that 'strongest Logia' power of yours!"

Akainu rose slowly from the rubble, magma dripping from his body. His expression was grim but determined. This battle was far from over.

Pangaea Castle - Outside the Main Gate

The tension around the castle was palpable. As a defense force for the World Summit, Marine higher-ups had gathered in anticipation of trouble.

Tsuru sat calmly on a chair, legs crossed with a sense of authority, her elegant composure unshaken. She glanced at her pocket watch, the sound of distant combat reaching her ears. Her Observation Haki picked up the fierce clash between two powerful presences.

"It's begun... Kaido and Akainu are fighting," she remarked, her voice calm but laced with concern.

Hearing her, Zephyr immediately rose to his feet, determination evident in his movements. "I'll go assist him."

"Sit down." Sengoku's voice, firm and commanding, cut through the tension. He took a slow sip from his cup of green tea. "Akainu may not defeat Kaido, but he can hold him long enough. Our priority remains here."

Zephyr hesitated, but his resolve hadn't waned. "Then let me assist the Five Elders in dealing with Edie!"

"Stay put." Sengoku's gaze hardened. "Our mission is to safeguard the safety of the World Summit participants—the kings. The Five Elders can handle themselves."

The gates of Pangaea Castle creaked open as Vice Admiral Momonga emerged, his face tense. Sengoku was quick to address him.

"Report."

Momonga saluted briskly. "Fleet Admiral, Edie has infiltrated the Great Hall. He's currently engaged in battle with the Five Elders. The kings are evacuating through the back exit, but—" He paused, his expression darkening.

"Speak clearly," Sengoku demanded.

"The soldiers of the Holy Land... they're pursuing the kings. Even the CPO has been mobilized."

Sengoku's expression grew grim. The Five Elders had clearly anticipated such an event and were making their moves accordingly. He clenched his fists as his thoughts raced.

So, the purge begins...

The schism within the Marines was no secret. Some followed Sengoku loyally, while others bent the knee to the Five Elders. This division had been carefully managed until now, but the cracks were widening under the current crisis.

"Where's Kizaru?" Sengoku asked abruptly.

"Admiral Kizaru is... hunting the kings," Momonga replied uneasily.

Sengoku's brow furrowed. "Aokiji, stop him."

A sigh came from nearby. Aokiji, lounging on a beach chair with an eye mask covering his face, stirred reluctantly.

"Aokiji Admiral, the Fleet Admiral has issued an order," a Marine officer prodded.

Removing the mask, Aokiji stretched lazily, muttering, "Alala... guess there's no avoiding it." He rose slowly, adjusting his coat. "Kizaru, huh? This is going to be a headache..."

In the Courtyard - Kings in Flight

A panicked group of kings and dignitaries fled the castle, their robes fluttering as they hurried toward the back garden. Behind them, armed Marines closed in.

"Stop! None of you can leave without authorization from the Five Elders!" a Vice Admiral bellowed.

The kings ignored the command, fear outweighing any sense of obedience.

Suddenly, a golden flash illuminated the path ahead, and Kizaru appeared, his crooked smile giving little comfort.

"This is an order from the Five Elders," he said nonchalantly, raising a glowing fingertip. "Don't blame me."

Among the fleeing kings, Cobra of Alabasta turned and shouted, his voice filled with fury. "Kizaru! Is this your justice?!"

Kizaru's expression remained unchanged. "Oh dear, King Cobra... I'm just a simple civil servant. Orders are orders."

Golden light burst from his fingertip as he fired a laser aimed at the nearest king.

But before the beam could connect, an icy blade intercepted it mid-air. The deflected laser struck a corner of the castle, blowing a chunk of it apart.

Kizaru tilted his head. "Kuzan? What's the meaning of this?"

Aokiji stepped forward, his demeanor as casual as ever. "Sengoku's orders. What about you, Borosalino? Following orders, or just having fun?"

Kizaru shrugged, summoning a golden lightsaber. "Orders, of course. But since we're here, why not settle which of us is stronger?"

The two Admirals clashed, ice and light meeting in an explosion of force.

The kings, momentarily stunned, watched the two titans exchange blows. Cobra was the first to regain his senses.

"Don't just stand there—run!" he shouted, rallying the others.

The group resumed their flight, heading toward the back garden where their families waited.

Meanwhile, Vice Admirals stationed near the castle's rear gate watched the chaos unfold. One of them scowled. "Admiral Aokiji, are you truly acting on Fleet Admiral Sengoku's orders? Or is this defiance against the Five Elders?"

Aokiji parried Kizaru's blade with ease, his voice calm but pointed. "I only take orders from Sengoku unless the Five Elders themselves tell me otherwise. And you, Vice Admiral—are you sure your orders are legitimate?"

The Vice Admiral's face reddened, but he barked orders to his troops. "Forget them! Continue the pursuit!"

As the soldiers advanced, Aokiji and Kizaru abruptly broke apart.

"Good enough?" Aokiji asked with a raised brow.

Kizaru smirked, lowering his blade. "For now."

The two resumed their mock battle, their spectacle buying time for the fleeing kings.

Pangaea Castle, The Great Hall

Daemon's massive spider leg pierced through Gyūki Saturn, hurling the elder with tremendous force into the wall. The impact echoed loudly as Saturn's body smashed through the solid structure. Simultaneously, Daemon's other appendages lashed out ferociously. His fangs sank deep into the sandworm's gargantuan form, drawing a guttural scream, while three other spider legs stabbed toward Saint Mars, Saint Nusjuro, and Saint Warcury, each in their demonic forms.

The trio responded swiftly, blocking the strikes with remarkable precision.

"Reinforcements have arrived!" Saint Mars bellowed, his Observation Haki sensing the encroaching presence of formidable warriors. Among them was the familiar aura of [Snake], a clone of Rocks D. Xebec.

Saint Warcury, now brandishing a haki-coated tusk, lunged forward, severing one of Daemon's legs in a clean swipe. However, to their dismay, the limb regenerated almost instantly.

"It's the Earthly Branches!" Warcury exclaimed, his voice tinged with urgency. His Observation Haki clearly tracked the movements of their adversaries. "They're targeting the generating devices of the boundary dome!"

High above, Saint Mars narrowly avoided another strike from Daemon, his expression grim. "This creature isn't just a demon; it's immortal like us!"

The sandworm, shrieking in agony, burrowed underground only to emerge through the ceiling moments later. Its massive jaws clamped onto Daemon, hurling him from the air and slamming him into the ground below.

Observing the chaotic scene, Edie's calculating gaze sharpened.

"Demons can't kill each other," he murmured, piecing together the puzzle. "So the original strategy remains our best option."

His thoughts were interrupted as Gyūki Saturn reemerged from the debris. His left eye had regenerated, and the previously impaled chest now showed no signs of damage.

"Time is tight—deploy the last resort!" Saturn ordered coldly.

The Five Elders suddenly abandoned their assault on Daemon, each moving to a distinct corner of the great hall. Together with Saturn's position, they formed a pentagram configuration.

Edie's brow furrowed slightly.

In moments, a dark ritual circle materialized beneath their feet. Black smoke billowed, coiling across the floor and etching an intricate magic array. Symbols of numbers—1, 2, 3, 4, and 5—glowed beneath the elders, representing their respective positions.

Gyūki Saturn sneered, his voice filled with smug confidence. "Did you think we wouldn't be prepared, Edie? Your arrival was foreseen! The Celestial Dragons were evacuated to the Sabaody Archipelago in advance. This time, there will be no surprises!"

His cold gaze locked onto Edie as he uttered the command: "Teleport!"

A deafening boom erupted as dense black smoke enveloped the entire castle. Within moments, Edie, his artificial demon Daemon, and the Five Elders disappeared, leaving the devastated great hall eerily silent.

Edie felt the strange sensation of spatial distortion coursing through his body during the teleportation. Darkness surrounded him, obscuring his vision entirely.

When the black smoke dissipated, Edie found himself standing amidst an endless expanse of yellow sand. The Five Elders encircled him, their expressions brimming with malevolent determination.

"You're finished!" Gyūki Saturn declared, his arrogance unshaken. "This is a deserted island under the World Government's control, often used for... experiments. And soon—"

Edie's gaze shifted upward. The once-clear sky churned with ominous, thunderous clouds. From the heavens, a colossal form began to take shape, partially obscured by the storm.

"So," Edie remarked, his tone laced with amusement, "you plan to obliterate me with an Ancient Weapon, as you did with Shiki?"

His smile deepened, a mocking glint in his eyes. "You're welcome to try. I'll stand here—let's see if your so-called weapon can obliterate me."

The Five Elders faltered, their confidence shaken by his audacious taunt.

"Is he insane?" Saint Warcury whispered, his voice barely audible.

"Or..." Saint Mars muttered, dread creeping into his tone, "is he immortal like us?"
