Chapter 68: 68
Time passed day by day, and the four of them continued their daily training.
In the blink of an eye, three months had gone by.
Among them, Robin faced the greatest difficulty in her Haki training. Mastering Haki required immense willpower and unwavering belief to materialize this innate ability.
Tony remembered that, even with Silvers Rayleigh's personal guidance, it had taken him a week just to grasp the basics. It wasn't until months of further practice that he fully mastered the materialization of Armament Haki.
He understood how grueling the process was. For anyone without natural talent, achieving instant success was impossible.
Robin, despite her intelligence, found Haki far more complex than she had imagined. After three months of effort, she had shown no noticeable progress. The lack of results left her feeling frustrated.
"1190... 1191... 1192..."
Not far away, Vivi was diligently swinging her wooden sword. Over the past three months, she had proven to be the most hardworking among them. Tony had assigned her 2,000 sword swings and a 10-kilometer run each day, an arduous regimen for anyone, let alone a young woman. Yet Vivi had consistently completed double the workload.
She understood that to become a swordswoman, she needed both a strong body and a deep passion for swordsmanship. Being a woman meant she started at a natural disadvantage compared to men—in terms of strength and physical endurance. To overcome this, she pushed herself twice as hard.
Two months into training, the wooden sword she had been using was replaced by Tony's Ryūjin Jakka, its power sealed to make it a standard blade. Without the seal, the sword's fiery heat would make it impossible for an ordinary person to hold.
Vivi's growth surprised Tony. Watching her steady stance as she swung the sword, he realized that in just three months, her posture and aura had come a little near to his own.
Though it was only her form and presence, Tony could sense Vivi's terrifying talent for swordsmanship—a prodigy hindered only by her status as a princess.
Standing nearby, Tony observed her with growing interest. Vivi's physique had noticeably improved—leaner muscles without losing any feminine grace. If anything, her figure had become even more stunning.
Her long, aqua-blue hair was tied into a ponytail, and she was drenched in sweat, her soaked white T-shirt clinging to her form. Despite the exhaustion, her sharp eyes reflected an unyielding obsession with swordsmanship.
Tony couldn't help but smile. He was convinced that this beautiful young woman would achieve extraordinary feats in swordsmanship in the future.
"But… it doesn't hurt to take advantage of this moment," Tony thought mischievously.
He walked up to Vivi, pretending to adjust her posture. Moving closer, he enveloped the fragrant beauty in his arms.
"Vivi, you need to hold the sword like this… Yes, just like that!" Tony guided her with the demeanor of a sleazy old man, all while secretly enjoying the contact.
Oblivious to his intentions, the naive Vivi cooperated earnestly. "Like this, Tony?"
Tony felt a jolt of electricity run through him at her words. "Damn, I'm in love!" he thought, reluctantly letting go of his "prey" and coughing awkwardly to mask his embarrassment.
"Keep practicing," he said, walking away, though his heart was soaring. "This princess is just too charming. I can't bring myself to push her too hard!"
As he walked about 50 meters away, a sudden bolt of lightning came streaking toward him.
Reacting instantly, Tony dodged, his scalp tingling. He knew exactly who was responsible for this.
Turning toward the direction of Nami's training, he yelled, "Hey, Nami! What are you doing? Another outburst? I'm not even close to you!"
From afar, Nami pouted angrily, her face flushed with frustration.
"Outburst? My foot! I did that on purpose! Who told you to get all handsy with… with Vivi while I'm training?!"
Tony froze, sweat forming on his brow. A sly smile crept onto his face as realization dawned.
"This girl… Could it be? Vivi's training area is at least 130 meters away from hers."
Tony's suspicions solidified. Nami had awakened her Observation Haki, gaining the ability to sense distant events. Her progress, achieved in just three months, was likely accelerated by her use of the Rumble-Rumble Fruit.
"Heh," Tony chuckled. "What kind of people have I surrounded myself with? One surprise after another."
Adopting a serious demeanor, he approached Nami, who was still pouting with jealousy. Reaching out, he instinctively patted her head.
Though she puffed her cheeks in protest, Nami didn't shy away. A faint blush crept across her face, betraying her pleasure.
"You're such a little jealous pot," Tony teased with a grin. "So, how's your lightning control coming along?"
Feeling confident, Nami stepped back a few meters, spreading her arms. Lightning instantly crackled and formed into a glowing sphere in her hands.
Tony's eyes widened in amazement. This clever girl had already mastered the basics in three months.
"Impressed, aren't you?" Nami said smugly. "I figured it out last week. But… I can't increase the power yet. If I do, I lose control…"
Her tone grew a little dejected as she pouted again.
Tony, however, wasn't concerned. Abilities like hers needed to be developed gradually. The fact that she had already reached this level meant she wouldn't accidentally harm her crewmates anymore.
All that remained was to refine her control through continuous training.
At night, after their training, the three women returned to the ship exhausted, only to find a table full of delicious homemade dishes prepared by Tony.
After intense training, nothing was more rewarding than a hearty meal.
Having worked as a server at Shakky's bar in the past, Tony found preparing these dishes an easy task.
The moment the three women laid eyes on the feast, they abandoned any pretense of elegance and dove in, eating ravenously. Their increased appetite was a clear sign of the toll their training had taken on them.
Seeing their cheeks smeared with food, Tony couldn't help but laugh.
"Hehehe! You three, slow down! No one's going to steal your food!"
He reached out with gentlemanly care, pulling out some napkins to wipe the food off their faces.
Robin, feeling a bit self-conscious as the oldest of the group, quickly took the napkin from him, gesturing that she could do it herself. Though she was only a few years older than Tony, the presence of the others made her hesitant to accept his gesture. If they had been alone, she might not have minded.
Nami and Vivi, however, had no such reservations. They happily enjoyed Tony's attention as he wiped their faces clean.
At that moment, Gan Fall, the God of Skypiea, showed up once again. However, he was met with the usual cold shoulder—Tony paid him no attention whatsoever.
Watching this unfold, Nami couldn't help but tease, "That old man is really persistent. How many times has it been now?"
Robin covered her mouth and chuckled, "Including today, that makes twelve visits in three months. About once a week, on average."
Vivi, her mouth stuffed with food, mumbled through bites, "Th-this old… man… according to… Tony's words… he's really… butting heads… with himself!"
Tony simply shook his head with a smile and urged them to finish eating, reminding them that there was more training to do the next day.
The four of them happily enjoyed their dinner, ignoring Gan Fall. Eventually, the old man left, unfazed by the lack of response, as if he'd grown accustomed to it.
After dinner, Vivi and Nami were so exhausted that they fell asleep almost immediately. Only Robin remained awake, her thoughts heavy, unable to fall asleep.
Despite her constant efforts to figure out how to manifest Armament Haki, three months had passed without any progress.
Feeling disheartened, she got up quietly, closed the door behind her, and went out onto the deck for some fresh air.
"Robin, what's wrong? Your Haki training isn't going well, is it?"
Tony's voice came from behind her.
Robin didn't turn around, instead gazing into the distance with a defeated expression.
"I don't think I have any talent for Haki…" she admitted, her voice low.
Tony could tell she was thinking of giving up. Smiling, he said, "Robin, I told you before—learning Haki isn't easy. How about this? Let's try a different approach."
He continued, "Starting tomorrow, join Vivi and me in physical training. The principles of Armament Haki are closely tied to the body.
"While willpower is crucial, physical conditioning is equally important."
Robin nodded immediately, her resolve reignited.
She had been quietly reflecting on the changes in her crewmates over the past three months. Although she was genuinely happy for Nami and Vivi's growth, the thought of falling behind weighed heavily on her.
As the eldest among them, Robin didn't want to be the one who needed protecting.
Deep in her heart, she vowed to become stronger—strong enough to stand shoulder to shoulder with her companions.
