Marine Headquarters.
Whitebeard… entered the fray himself!
The Marines, superior in both numbers and momentum, pressed their advantage. The unsettling activity from Mary Geoise added a layer of unease to Whitebeard's already heavy heart. There was no other choice.
He had to act. Only his direct intervention offered any hope of rescuing Ace. Further delay would only lead to certain defeat.
"All hands, to your stations!" Sengoku barked from the execution platform, his face grim as he watched Whitebeard descend from the Moby Dick and join the battle.
"Prepare yourselves!" Sengoku knew full well the earth-shattering power Whitebeard wielded. Mere bystanders would be fortunate to remain standing in the face of his might.
Whitebeard, Naginata in hand, landed on the battlefield with a roar that shook the very foundations of Marineford. The world seemed to hold its breath.
"Those who fear death, stay back!"
His booming voice ignited the spirits of the Whitebeard Pirates. Across the battlefield, his crew responded with a ferocious roar.
They raised their weapons, their faces contorted in savage grins. "Follow Pops! Crush the Marines!"
Hmph!
A Marine giant captain charged forward, his massive blade aimed at Whitebeard, attempting to halt his advance. But Whitebeard, Naginata held firmly in his grip…
Crack!
The air itself shattered. The giant captain's blade snapped in two, the force of the impact reverberating through the battlefield. Whitebeard slammed his Naginata into the ground, then reached out, his hands grasping at the very air, as if pulling at the fabric of space itself.
With a mighty heave, he tore the earth asunder.
The entire Marine Headquarters complex tilted precariously, the ground beneath them cracking and splitting..
"Whitebeard…" Sengoku muttered, his fists clenched, watching the scene unfold from the execution platform. He took a deep breath, steeling his resolve.
"What are you scheming, Sengoku…?" Whitebeard, having dispatched the giant captain, turned his gaze towards Sengoku, his eyes flashing with intensity.
Whitebeard, Naginata held in both hands, advanced towards the execution platform, his age belying the raw power and regal bearing he exuded.
❁❁❁❁
"Out of my way!" Akainu roared, his body radiating intense heat. He had attempted to engage Whitebeard, but Diamond Jozu, the unbreakable shield of the Whitebeard Pirates, had intercepted him.
Akainu, enraged, blasted Jozu back with a magma-infused fist, then turned his attention to the advancing Whitebeard Pirates, intent on unleashing his fury.
But besides Jozu, there was another formidable opponent lurking in the waters of the bay. Jinbe,
"Fish-Man Karate: Sea Current Shot!"
A torrent of water erupted from the bay, striking Akainu with tremendous force, momentarily halting his advance. Jozu, seizing the opportunity, renewed his assault.
"Damn you, Jinbe!" Akainu roared, his face contorted in rage as he found himself trapped between Jozu and Jinbe.
Hmph!
Whitebeard clenched his fist. A wave of concussive force rippled outwards, shattering the air like glass. Sengoku, facing him, roared in defiance.
BOOM!
"Sengoku, you've grown old. Is this all you have left?" Whitebeard taunted, his voice booming across the battlefield.
Sengoku, unfazed, glared back at Whitebeard, his golden Buddha form radiating an aura of power and authority.
"Is that so, Whitebeard? But your strength has faded as well."
"Gurararara!" Whitebeard laughed, his voice filled with confidence. "It's more than enough to defeat you! Do you truly believe you can stop me?"
He raised his Naginata, bringing it down on Sengoku with earth-shattering force.
Sengoku met the attack head-on, his golden palms clamping together, attempting to block the blow.
BOOOMM!!!
The clash of their powers shook Marineford. Sengoku's feet sank into the earth, cracks spiderwebbing across the ground beneath him.
Whitebeard, dropping his Naginata, unleashed a devastating punch. Sengoku, blocking with his palm.
"Fleet Admiral Sengoku…" The Marines watched in stunned silence, their hearts pounding with fear as they witnessed Whitebeard's overwhelming power. His presence was terrifying.
"This is… Edward Newgate, Whitebeard, the man who held the title of World's Strongest before the rise of the Black-Winged Devil!!"
Sengoku, struggling to defend against Whitebeard's relentless assault, sighed inwardly. Decades ago, Garp had fought by his side. But today… he was alone.
"Garp… you're still swayed by sentimentality." Sengoku thought, worried about his old friend. He feared Garp might make a rash decision, driven by his love for his grandson, just as he had when.
But the Marines 'had' to win this war. They had to prove to the world that justice prevailed, that even the strongest pirates would be brought to heel.
"Come on!" Sengoku roared, his face grim, charging back at Whitebeard. "The execution is in half an hour. Your hopes of rescuing Fire Fist Ace are nothing but a pipe dream!"
....
....
"Not good!" Marco and the other commanders realized Sengoku's tactic. Despite being outmatched in raw power, Sengoku was a master strategist, capable of turning the tide of battle with his words.
Whitebeard's heart sank as he saw his crew wavering, their morale faltering under Sengoku's psychological warfare.
"Your mind is still sharp, Sengoku…"
"Hmph!" Sengoku glared at Whitebeard, who took a deep breath, his gaze sweeping across the battlefield, then settling on Ace, bound to the execution platform. Facing this desperate situation, he suddenly stopped attacking Sengoku. And then… smiled.
From the moment he had decided to attack Marineford, he had accepted the possibility of death. He was seventy-four years old. The next era did not belong to him.
Rather than fading away, he would die fighting, a glorious death in battle. What did death matter?
Crack!
"Damn it!" Sengoku, sensing something ominous in Whitebeard's sudden change in demeanor, narrowed his eyes.
Whitebeard closed his eyes.
When he opened them again, an aura of overwhelming power erupted from him, shaking the Sky.
Hum!
His face serious, the years seeming to melt away, replaced by the fierce determination of his prime. With a roar, he unleashed a devastating punch.
BOOM!
The force of the blow eclipsed Akainu's magma, Kizaru's light beams, It was the most powerful attack witnessed since the start of the Summit War.
The Tremor-Tremor Fruit surged through his body.
Sengoku, sensing the sheer destructive power of the attack, paled. But with the Marines behind him, retreat was not an option. He gritted his teeth, pushing his own power to its limit.
BOOMM!
The earth-shattering impact shook Marineford to its core.
The world seemed to fall silent, the sound of the explosion deafening. The sky, the earth, the sea… everything trembled. Even Aokiji, Akainu, and the other Admirals stared in shock.
The ground before Whitebeard crumbled into dust. His Quake Punch had shattered Sengoku's defenses, sending him flying.
Aokiji, Akainu, Fujitora, and the others, realizing the danger, unleashed their own attacks, trying to counter Whitebeard's devastating blow.
But their hastily launched attacks, weakened by distance, were no match for Whitebeard's power. They crumbled like paper before the unstoppable force of his punch.
Unstoppable... Unmatched!!
The dust settled.
The ground before Whitebeard was a crater of pulverized earth. Sengoku, his Buddha form dispelled, lay sprawled on the ground, blood trickling from his lips.
If he were in his prime, he might have been able to withstand Whitebeard's attack. But Whitebeard, burning through his life force to achieve this peak state, was simply too powerful for the aging Sengoku to match.
The difference between an Admiral and a Yonko wasn't insurmountable, but that didn't apply to Whitebeard at his peak.
"How… His wounds are healed!" Sengoku, struggling to his feet, stared at Whitebeard in disbelief.
Whitebeard glanced at Sengoku, then raised his Naginata, his voice echoing across the battlefield.
"Crush the Marines! Rescue Ace!"
"OOOOOHHH!!!"
The sheer power of his attack, coupled with his rallying cry, reinvigorated the Whitebeard Pirates. Their morale surged, their fighting spirit renewed.
Marco, Jozu, and the others charged forward, their eyes burning with determination. Whitebeard led the charge, Naginata held firmly in both hands.
"Get back!"
His crew parted before him. He brought his Naginata down, the force of the blow splitting the earth, sending shockwaves rippling across the battlefield.
Marines were thrown into the air, their screams echoing through the chaos. Sengoku, transforming back into his Buddha form, tried to intercept Whitebeard.
But Whitebeard, driven by a desperate fury, was unstoppable. He unleashed a barrage of Quake Punches, forcing even Sengoku to retreat.
Sengoku knew Whitebeard couldn't maintain this level of power for long. If he could, he would have used it from the start. All he had to do was hold out.
But…
Whitebeard had abandoned all caution, all concern for his own life. He was a force of nature, driven by a single, unwavering purpose.
Aokiji tried to intervene, but Diamond Jozu blocked his path. Kizaru, watching from afar, launched a few lazy light beams, which were easily deflected by Whitebeard's shockwaves. He shrugged.
"Has he gone mad? How frightening…" Kizaru, his face contorting into a mask of exaggerated fear, wasn't about to risk his life against a rampaging Whitebeard.
He hadn't expected such power from the aging pirate.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Whitebeard and his crew pressed their attack, the Marines reeling before their onslaught.
Finally…
Whitebeard reached the execution platform. Before him stood a single figure, the last line of defense, the Hero of the Marines… Garp!
...
...
"It all comes down to Garp now." Sengoku, realizing the gravity of the situation, abandoned his attempts to stop Whitebeard directly and turned his attention to Marco, Jozu, and the other commanders.
Whitebeard's current state was clearly unsustainable. He was burning through his life force, pushing his power beyond its normal limits. They simply couldn't match him in this state. Now…
The battles between the Admirals and Whitebeard's commanders were no longer the focus. All eyes, both on the battlefield and across the world, watching via transponder snails, were fixed on the confrontation before the execution platform.
"You made it this far." Garp, looking down at Whitebeard, spoke, his voice calm and steady.
Whitebeard's eyes burned with intensity, his Naginata held at the ready. "Didn't I tell you? If you want to protect that platform, try and stop me!"
"Then… I shall." Garp's voice was quiet, his expression unreadable. He rose to his feet, his Marine coat billowing around him.
