One Piece : Why is that luffy better than our luffy

Chapter 11: Chapter 11 : Shanks Teaches Haki Practice

After listening to Luffy's advice, Dadan felt a warmth in her heart.

She thought to herself, 'Little Luffy always seems unapproachable to strangers, but I didn't expect him to be cold on the outside and warm on the inside. Not bad!'

"Luffy, your impression of pirates is bad because the ones your grandpa pursued were all extremely wicked. Naturally, you've only seen the scum of the pirate world. But in reality, not all pirates are bad people."

"I've asked around about the pirates in this town. They've been here for over a year without causing any trouble. On the contrary, they've even helped a lot of people."

"Luffy, if you're just asking about Haki training methods, I think they'd be willing to share if they knew."

Monkey D. Garp: "Dadan! What nonsense are you saying?"

Dadan: "Huh? Did I say that?"

'What does another Dadan's actions have to do with me?'

Monkey D. Garp: "Ah, sorry, sorry, I made a mistake..."

'This damn movie-watching system is driving me nuts!'

Eustass Kid: "Did I hear that right... A Yonko's pirate crew helped villagers in a small town?"

Shanks: "Kid, got a problem with that?"

Eustass Kid: "Don't think just because you're one of the Yonko that I'm afraid of you! I'll become one of the Four Emperors too one day!"

Charlotte Linlin: "Mamama! These youngsters sure are amusing. It's been a while since I've laughed this hard."

Kaido: "They haven't been through the beatings of the New World yet! Once they do, all that ambition will disappear."

Edward Newgate: "Gurarara!!! It's good for young people to have ambition, but in this vast sea, only strength matters in the end."

Marshall D. Teach: "Old man, don't mock people's dreams! A person's dream never dies!"

Edward Newgate: "Teach!! A scum like you who kills his comrades, do you even deserve to talk about dreams?"

Marco: "Teach, you b*****d!!"

Portgas D. Ace: "Teach, I'll definitely capture you and bring justice to the Whitebeard Pirates!"

Marshall D. Teach: "Zehahaha!!! Ace, you should save your breath. Once this movie-watching ends, you'll be executed."

Edward Newgate: "Hmph! Don't even think about it, Teach. As long as I'm alive, Ace won't die!"

Marshall D. Teach: "Zehahaha...!!"

Meanwhile, in Windmill Village

Luffy arrived at Makino's bar, following the address Dadan had given him.

"Oh? That brat's so young, and he wants a drink?" Lucky Roux was the first to notice Luffy, grinning widely.

The rest of the pirates turned to look at him.

Shanks glanced at Luffy, and for some reason, found him quite likable.

"Kid, this isn't a place for children. Go on home," Shanks said, tossing a chicken leg at Luffy. "Take this and eat it on your way back."

It seemed Dadan was right. These people weren't bad.

Luffy's first impression of Shanks and the crew was surprisingly positive.

"Uncles, I want to train in Haki. Is there anyone who can teach me?"

Even though Luffy had lowered his guard around these pirates, he wasn't foolish enough to reveal that he already knew how to use both Armament and Observation Haki.

He'd only shown his Haki in front of Dadan because he trusted her, knowing that if Garp trusted her enough to leave him in her care, she must be trustworthy.

'Training in Haki...'

Upon hearing Luffy's request, the bar fell silent for a moment before erupting into laughter!!!

"Hahaha!! Kid, you haven't even grown any hair yet, and you want to train in Haki? That's way out of your league."

"At your age, and in such a closed-off little mountain village, it's already quite impressive that you know about Haki."

"Kid! Haki isn't something you can just practice because you want to."

"Hurry home and drink your milk, hahaha!"

The pirates laughed so hard that they couldn't even close their mouths.

Despite being mocked, Luffy remained calm as still water, not showing a hint of anger.

Because he knew, this is just how the world works...

Stronger people mocking the weaker ones is a form of kindness! They have the power to crush you, but they only choose to mock, which is already a mercy.

'Only by reaching the pinnacle of strength can you earn the right to silence others!

Seeing Luffy's composed expression, Shanks was a bit surprised.

This kid... he's definitely different from ordinary children!

"Brat, do you really want to learn Haki?" Shanks asked, his gaze fixed on Luffy.

"Yes," Luffy nodded without hesitation.

"Good! I'm in a good mood today, so I'll teach you. But I'll only teach it once. How much you can learn depends on your ability!"

"Thanks, Uncle. I'll treat you to a drink!" Luffy said, pulling out some pocket money that Garp had left him when he arrived in Windmill Village. He didn't hesitate to spend it now.

"Oh! You're a sensible kid!" Shanks grinned.

"Captain, if you're gonna teach him, do it properly! He's even treating you to a drink!" one of the pirates teased.

"Yeah! Don't brush him off, Shanks!" another chimed in, laughter echoing in the bar.

With a smirk, Shanks began teaching Luffy the basics of Haki.

Even though Luffy had long surpassed this level, having learned Haki from Garp, he listened intently, not wanting to miss a single detail.

"Alright, kid, that's the basics of Haki," Shanks said as he finished and raised his glass for a drink.

Luffy thought for a moment. What Shanks taught him slightly differed from Garp's methods, but both led to the same understanding. It was a great benefit to him.

"What comes after the basics?" Luffy asked, curious.

"Hmm?" Shanks paused mid-sip, glancing at Luffy in surprise. "Kid, don't bite off more than you can chew."

"It's alright. You said you'd only teach me once, so I want to learn as much as I can. I did treat you to this drink, after all."

"Dahaha! Fair enough! Alright, I'll continue!"

Shanks then went on to explain more advanced methods of Haki training, covering both Armament Haki and Observation Haki in detail.

Two hours later...

"Alright, that's all the experience I can share about training in Advanced Armament Haki and Observation Haki. After this, it's all up to your natural talent."

Luffy was deeply impressed by what Shanks had taught him. The bottlenecks he had been facing were also addressed, confirming that Shanks was sincerely teaching him.

"Thank you, Uncle, for your guidance!" Luffy said, picking up a bottle of alcohol to toast Shanks.

However, Shanks quickly snatched the bottle away and replaced it with a non-alcoholic drink, clinking his glass with Luffy's. He downed his drink in one gulp.

Luffy blinked at the drink in his hand, momentarily stunned.

"Uncle's a good guy!" he thought, smiling as he raised the beverage and downed it generously.
