[An island in Eastblue]
The cool night air brushed against Gohan's face as he walked along the familiar trail leading back to his home. His hands were clasped behind his back, and he hummed softly to himself, his eyes wandering up to the clear night sky. The crescent moon hung among countless stars, their gentle light illuminating the peaceful scene. Gohan smiled, savoring the beauty around him.
"Ah, look—a shooting star," he said aloud, his eyes catching the bright streak across the sky. "Maybe I should make a wish."
He paused for a moment, pondering. In his younger years, Gohan had lived a full and adventurous life, but now, as an old man, there was one regret that lingered in his heart: not finding someone to share his life with, to settle down and raise a family.
"I wish for someone I can spend the rest of my life with," he said softly, watching the star streak across the heavens.
But as he stared, the star seemed to grow brighter, larger, and closer. His smile faded, replaced with concern.
"Oh my... it's coming this way. It's going to hit the island!"
A distant crash shattered the stillness of the night, followed by the sound of trees snapping and dirt flying. Gohan hurried toward the source, following the trail of destruction until he came upon a smoking crater. In its center sat a strange metallic pod.
His brow furrowed as he jumped down into the crater, approaching the pod cautiously. The hatch slowly hissed open, and Gohan braced himself for what might emerge.
To his shock, inside was a baby.
"A baby? Where are your parents?" Gohan asked, his voice filled with confusion. The infant's crying broke the silence as Gohan carefully lifted the child out of the pod. The baby had spiky black hair, three bangs framing his face, and—most surprisingly—a monkey-like tail swaying behind him.
"And you have a tail?" Gohan muttered, tilting his head as he examined the child. "What should I call you?"
Before he could think further, the baby stopped crying, looked at him for a moment, and then delivered a swift kick to Gohan's face.
"Ow!" Gohan exclaimed, then burst into laughter. "Looks like you're a feisty one!"
He held the baby up, a smile spreading across his face. "How about I call you Goku? And I'll be your grandfather."
The baby, now named Goku, let out a small laugh of his own, and Gohan's heart swelled with warmth. For the first time in a long while, he felt like his wish had been granted.
[5 years later ]
Gohan carefully walked along the edge of a steep cliff on the mountain, a woven basket strapped to his back. Inside, little Goku thrashed around excitedly, kicking and wiggling without a care in the world. The movements caused Gohan to stumble slightly, his heart skipping a beat as he steadied himself.
"Goku, please stop moving around," Gohan pleaded, concern in his voice. "It's dangerous—we could fall!"
But Goku, oblivious to the danger, continued his antics. Suddenly, one particularly hard thrash caused Gohan to lose his footing.
The basket slipped off his back, and Goku tumbled out.
"GOKU!!!" Gohan screamed as he watched the child fall. Without hesitation, he leaped off the cliff, desperately trying to catch him. Time seemed to slow as he reached out, but he was too late. Gohan could only watch in horror as Goku hit his head against a rock and went still.
Heart pounding, Gohan reached the ground, cradling the unconscious boy in his arms. "Hang on, Goku," he whispered, tears streaming down his face as he sprinted home.
Once there, Gohan laid Goku gently on a bed and rummaged through his meager medical supplies, doing everything he could to treat the injury. Days passed, and Goku remained unconscious. Gohan worked tirelessly, venturing out daily to gather food and supplies, though it was difficult living alone on the isolated island.
On the fourth day, Gohan returned home, exhausted, only to find Goku sitting up in bed, happily eating a bowl of soup.
"Grandpa, this soup tastes bad," Goku said with a wrinkled nose. "Can we have some meat instead?"
Gohan froze for a moment before rushing over and embracing Goku tightly.
"My boy," he said, tears streaming down his face. "I thought you'd never wake up from your coma!"
"I'm fine, Grandpa," Goku replied with his signature bright smile. "Now, can we eat? I'm really hungry!"
Gohan laughed, wiping his tears. "Of course, Goku. I caught a boar earlier—it's a nice, fat one too."
As the days went on, Gohan noticed a dramatic change in Goku. Before the fall, he had been a rowdy and disobedient child, full of energy and mischief. Now, he was sweet, cheerful, and far more affectionate. Though Gohan didn't mind the change—he loved Goku no matter what—he couldn't help but wonder if the head injury had something to do with it.
[7 years later, in the morning]
Goku wakes up tired and naked he rubs his eyes and looks around to see trees uprooted out of the ground. Goku sits there confused as the last thing he remembered was running after a bird the night before and looking at the full moon
Gohan then runs to Goku with his clothing torn and his face, tired of exhaustion like he ran the whole night "Granpa are you ok?" Goku says confused
"And why is everything destroyed"
"Goku" Gohan says while huffing "Please promise me to never go outside at night. A giant monkey came around and started stomping and destroying everything and I couldn't find you but when he left I found you"
Goku sits there confused as he wonders how a giant monkey came around and destroyed everything and he didn't wake up
"Well did he destroy our home?" Goku asked
"no Goku our home is still here I need to go get some rest lets go" Goku and Gohan start following the path to their home but some parts are destroyed
Along the way, Gohan gives Goku some clothes to cover himself and Gohan watches Goku as he walks in front. Did Goku activate his full Zoan form? He thinks to himself when he first found Goku he thought maybe Goku ate a devil fruit and was always in his hybrid form but when he would wash him he Would never show any type of reaction to water even when fully submerged
He made many guesses on how Goku has a tail. Part mink?, a World government Experiment, Or maybe an alien from outer space but he came to one understanding and that's Goku is his little boy. He smiles at the thought and tells Goku to hurry since he knows he's hungry
[Weeks past]
Gohan walks while holding a log and placing the final part to fix his home Goku runs to him and yells with a huge smile "Granpa Granpa we finally finished the house" jumping up and down
"Yep and for all your help I got a gift, I was planning on giving it to you on your birthday but for helping I'll give it to you early"
Gohan walks inside and comes back out with a Box he puts on a rock and tells Goku to open it. Goku reaches out and opens it and finds a staff he grabs it and while examining it he finds nothing special other than it getting red and having a shive "Granpa it's just a stick?" Gohan chucks
"No my boy this thing is called a power pole my master gave it to me back in the day and I thought it would be a good gift for you"
"The pole Is able to stretch out nearly infinitely and while holding it just think about stretching it," Goku absorbing everything that Gohan said thinks hard, and felt the pole stretch out
"Look Granpa I did it I did it" Gohan smiled looking at Goku celebrate his achievement Goku then stops and looks at Gohan and says "Now about we spar while I use it" eager on his face
Gohan was waiting for those exact words knowing how since Goku was a little he always liked to fight with him "Sure Goku let's head to the woods" Goku and Gohan walked deep into the woods and both looked at each other Goku holding his newly gifted magical pole
Goku rushes at Gohan with his Pole and swings it but Gohan dodges it with ease Goku follows up with more, but Gohan does the same in dodging everything. Gohan then grabs the pole and swings it up Goku feels his leg leave the ground he sees a kick coming from Gohan
Goku gets launched and tries to stick his landing and lands on his feet "Power Pole extend" Goku yells as it stretches out at high speed at Gohan's chest but Gohan has known the weapon for years. So he dodges and runs at Goku and strikes him in the chest leaving Goku on the ground defeated
Chucking Goku says "That was fun when I get used to this I'll be able to put up a good fight" Gohan smiles and walks Goku back home
[2 years later]
"Goku hurry come to bed it's midnight" Gohan yells a couple of rooms down
"Ye I know Grandpa I'm coming" Goku starts to walk As he walks past his window the night sky light hits the side of Goku's face as Goku turns to look but he sees the large glowing moon. It's a full moon Goku stands there hypnotized not moving
"Goku? You there" Gohan walks out of his room and sees Goku standing in the middle of the hallway staring at the window "Goku? Are you ok?"
