Order of the Light

Chapter 3: Chapter 3

There was a cavern on Lowtus, a planet on the Lower End of the galaxy. Three Blue Swordfighters, off duty, drank to their heart's content.

A mysterious stranger appeared at the doorway. He proceeded inside the room and disrupted the fun that the Blue Swordfighters were having.

"Yes, what do you want?" One of the Blue Swordfighers asked politely.

The stranger unsheathed his laser sword. The Blue Swordfighters thought that they were meeting a comrade until the stranger turned on his laser sword. The color was red.

The Order's Temple on the planet Cantt.

The most important members of the High Council were meeting with Grandmaster Oren and Master Rebecca via a holo display.

"It was a rumor but now it has been confirmed." The male President said. "Three Blue Swordfighters were massacred at a cavern on Lowtus. Thank the Gods that no other person was hurt."

Grandmaster Oren and Master Rebecca were angered but appeared nonchalant on the surface.

"Do you know who did this?" The female Vice President asked. "We did not know a new Red Swordfighter has emerged. It's been many years since the last one."

"Yes." Master Rebecca said. "It's Arthur."

The President and Vice President gasped.

"But he was slain a century ago." The President said.

"He is back." Grandmaster Oren said. "But it is not exactly him. It's a complicated matter."

"Who he is doesn't matter." The Vice President said. "We need to put a stop to this madness now."

On a dark and unknown planet, which was full of icebergs and snowy waters, walked a hooded stranger.

The stranger entered an even darker place. A vast fortress filled with crystal shards on the walls. He came upon a set-up where he could place any crystal and a new army would materialize.

The stranger removed his hood to reveal himself as the purple-haired Arthur. Then he removed the red crystal from his sword's handle and inserted into the device. The machine started emitting a red light everywhere.

From below the surface, an army of cyborgs awakened with red in their eyes. They stood up when they had reached the surface.

"What is your command, Master?" One of them asked Arthur.

"It's time to siege the Temple." Arthur smirked.

On the Upper End planet of Taboo, the Princess would soon one day become a Queen. She already had a Prince in mind. Junior Harry was officially there on the High Council's orders but truthfully he was there to deliver a harsh truth.

"So what duties have the High Council put on you this time?" Princess Athena asked embracing the young warrior.

Harry did not return her smile.

"Is everything alright?" She asked.

"I am sorry." He replied. "But we cannot be together."

"Are you breaking up with me?"

"Temporarily." Harry explained. "Until I become a Knight."

The Princess sat down with tears in her eyes. "I guess it's the rightful thing to do."

Harry sat down next to her and took both of her hands into his. "It's not only I who would be in danger of being cast out from the Order. But Knight Brooks as my superior might become cast out as well."

"I understand." Athena's smile returned though through teary eyes. "Please give him my thanks for sheltering our secret for so long."

At the Blue Swordfighters Temple which also doubled as their headquarters. There was the sound of an explosion.

"Knight Sandra." Her commlink rang. "An army of cyborgs have burst through our first defence. They are heading towards the Temple."

Sandra removed the handle of her laser sword from its holster. The blue shined against her own ocean blue eyes.

Three cyborgs armed with red laser swords entered the door in front of her. She quickly disposed of them.

Behind her a group of Blue Swordfighters gathered.

"We will fight till the end!" One of them announced.

Suddenly, a cyborg carrying a gatling sun appeared. The robot's weapon fired at all the Blue Swordfighters gathered in front of it. What it didn't anticipate was Knight Sandra's speed. She managed to deflect all the laser shots and not one of the Blue Swordfighters was harmed.

She then leaped into the air and swung her sword so fast that in one fell swoop it beheaded the gatling gun-wielding cyborg.

Knight Brooks also had speed. He quickly disposed of a group of five cyborgs who carried red laser swords. Then he met his match.

A cyborg carrying a heavy red laser sword entered the building where Knight Brooks was located in. Brooks was taken aback. He had heard of a heavy version of a laser sword but never faced one before.

The assailant swung the heavy laser sword as if not even considering its weight. Brooks had successfully dodged all three blows and he realised he had the upper hand.

The Knight waited for another swipe to land at him. He dodged then after confirming that the sword was stuck in the ground, at least for a while, he swung his blue laser sword quickly after reaching the cyborg in the blink of an eye. The cyborg's head then landed far from its body.

"Junior Harry!" Harry's commlink rang. "There is an assault happening on Temple grounds. Please report to the headquarters immediately."

"What is it?" Athena asked after looking at the sudden concern on Harry's face.

"I can't believe it." Harry said. "An assault on the Temple. It's unheard of."

"Take two Palace Guards with you." Athena suggested.

***

Junior Harry and the couple of Palace Guards reached their destination. The whole Temple was in ruins. Harry thought that such a thing could not be possible, but he was witnessing the destruction first hand.

He and the Palace Guards defended the scribes from the cyborgs, but it was apparent that many scribes and Blue Swordfighters alike had been killed. Young Blue Swordfighters who were mere students of the Order had also been massacred.

Junior wanted his rage to take over. But that would mean giving over to the evil. A Young Swordfighter appeared beside him. "Sir, I will fight will you."

"Till the very end." Harry said and they both charged at the remaining cyborgs.

A century ago.

The first Arthur was initially one of the best Blue Swordfighers in the Order. This was during the High Tide era of the Order. Many new discoveries were being made every day. And the Order was even more well respected by the Confederation of Planets then it was now.

However, Arthur even as a child, was very curious.

"Grandmaster Oren." Knight Arthur caught up to the Grandmaster as he was leaving his study. "I wanted to ask you about the Archives. There's a legend that states the White Swordfighter's light still flows through the Temple."

Grandmaster Oren smiled. "The White Swordfighter's light flows through all of us."

"Yes, I know." Arthur agreed. "But please Grandmaster. Answer my question."

The Grandmaster stopped in his tracks. "I know you're curious, Knight Arthur. But curiosity kills."

With that the Grandmaster left Knight Arthur standing there on his own. But Oren's advice would not be heeded.

Arthur stole a coveted book from the Grand Library. He ran away from the other Blue Swordfighters who were on his trail and hid in a cave.

All of a sudden, blue lights shined at the cave's entrance.

Arthur was unperturbed. He was deep into the book and laughing his head off.

The two Blue Swordfighters looked at each other after hearing the hysterical laughter.

"Arthur, are you alright?" One of them called.

No reply. They walked deeper into the cave.

The book was on the ground. Arthur's back was to them.

"Arthur return the book and maybe you won't get expelled." One of the Blue Swordfighters warned.

He turned around. His laser sword's color matched that of his hair: purple.

The Blue Swordfighters were defeated before they could register what had happened to Arthur.
