Our own hell; lord of the death trial

Chapter 1: 1. A strange place

He felt pain in his abdomen and it kept worsening with time,as his blurry vision cleared up "water" He muttered his voice hoarse even as he grunted in pain. It just couldn't be possible, and yet he was in a room the size of a shoe box. He sat up straight wondering where he was and how come he ended up there. The door swung wide open, and as though he was programmed, he stood up straight and walked out the door.

"Welcome to Thanatos" a voice announced. It was a strange place, a camp of sorts with lots of people arriving through strange looking doors and walking towards the queue to be numbered. He walked towards the line and stood behind a lady with rough looking, short ash hair. He looked around him watching as others joined behind him 'this place seems strange' he thought wandering how he landed in this place "ahh" he groaned holding unto his head as the memory of plunging his sword into his belly resurfaced in his mind. He tried to rid his mind of it but there was no way, he was being pushed forward, while the word "next" kept echoing in his ears.

She flipped to the next page of the novel smiling at the sound of the carriage wheels rolling over rocks. It was a fine day to reach Camcastle and begin the preparations for her wedding to the prince Christian. She smiled at the thought of her charming groom and was startled as the carriage came to an abrupt halt in the middle of thick forests. She inhaled deeply calming her nerves as her coachman started screaming profanities at someone. " what's going on Mr fisher" her handmaiden questioned him. When no reply came, she looked up at her lady with a worried expression. The lady sighed and closed the book she was reading. "Why do you always worry Grace, I am sure the guards outside can handle the situation" she said to assuage her maids fear as she opened up the novel and continued reading a smile etched on her face, her smile froze as she herself was beginning to feel a dangerous kind of dread seep into her bones, a sudden suspicion that something was truly wrong as the eerie silence that had suddenly descended upon the forest prolonged. "Grace? " she said looking up at her maid "move away from the window" she shouted dragging her by the hand and opening her door to flee as a sickle tore through the window. 'It just can't be possible' she thought as they ran off deep into the forest, but she could hear the sound of leaves crunching and twigs snapping behind her. She bunched up her dress to make running easier for herself and looked back for a brief moment, gasping at the sight of the long and dreadful looking scar that ran across the mans face came into view with a manical smile spreading across his face. He stood still letting her increase the space between them. He laughed wickedly enjoying the thrill of the chase "this is fun" he said preparing to run after her.

She kept running through the forest contemplating what to do. There was no time to take of her dress, she just had to find a way to save herself, a place to hide, to buy her some time before she would figure out her next move. She placed her hand on a large tree, panting, despair and fear written all over her face. 'Show me somewhere to hide' she commanded through her mind, and it showed her. She sighed in relief "it still works" she said running of.

He paused at a strange and mysterious looking door looking at it intently, while wondering what was behind the door when he was nudged to move forward by the guy behind him. He glanced at it briefly and walked on, as all thoughts of it flew out of his mind. He walked forward letting the system scan him, and began screaming in pain as a hot thin needle branded a number on his skin.
