Outlaws With Limits

After Elysia's escape, Dante and his team began to study the holographic map in the room. Many strategic points were marked on the map: major cities, military bases, and energy sources. Each one seemed to be part of the Brotherhood of Shadows' plans for future attacks.

Ryker muttered as he analysed the map: "This is not an attack plan, this is an invasion plan. They're aiming to seize energy sources, but there's something beyond that."

Dante studied the map more closely. "These markings must mean something. These are not random locations. The Brotherhood of Shadows is after something beyond chaos."

Kaelene turned her attention to a symbol in the corner of the map. "This symbol... I've seen it somewhere before," she said, pointing her finger at a circular mark.

Dante approached the symbol. "This is the ancient symbol of the Brotherhood of Shadows. In the old legends, this symbol was said to represent a source of energy that could control the world. But that was just a fairy tale... or so we thought."

Ryker quickly switched on his computer and copied the map's data. "One of the places with this symbol, according to this map, is in the Northern Mountains. If we're going to find anything, it might be there."

Dante turned decisively to his team. "We're heading there without wasting time. If we let Elysia get one step ahead of this plan, she will become unstoppable."

Journey to the North Mountains

The road to the North Mountains was full of snowy peaks and strong winds. As Dante and his team travelled in an all-terrain vehicle, the weather conditions became more and more dangerous. But the silence of the snow was suddenly broken by the sound of explosions.

"We're trapped!" Ryker shouted as he quickly swerved the vehicle to the side. They were being attacked by a group of Brotherhood of Shadows soldiers.

Intense Combat: Battle on Ice

Dante quickly jumped out of the vehicle and drew his pistols. Armoured soldiers were firing on them in the snow-covered field. Dante moved swiftly towards them, maintaining his composure as he took down each target one by one with his pistols.

Kaelene dived between the soldiers, drawing her sword. In the midst of an icy wind, each blow from her sword neutralised the enemies. However, one of the soldiers attacked Kaelene with a heavy energy hammer. The blow knocked Kaelene back several metres.

Kaelene quickly recovered and counterattacked. Dodging the hammer soldier's attacks, she found a weak spot in his armour and struck a blow with her sword. However, it was not an easy victory for her; the soldier continued to fight despite his injuries.

Ryker continued his support with his rifle from a distance. This time, however, the enemies were not only humans, but also robotic drones. Ryker suddenly found himself fighting both ground troops and air strikes.

Dante moved quickly to distract the drones. He climbed up a hill and started firing from above. However, the enemies were returning fire in his direction. Dante found a momentary gap and managed to hit two drones at once.

The Last Stand

As the battle dragged on, the team began to tire, but the Brotherhood of Shadows' forces were inexhaustible. Dante suddenly noticed an armoured vehicle coming towards them. "Time to finish this," he muttered.

As the vehicle approached, Dante moved quickly, shooting down the drones on it. He then ran towards the vehicle and jumped on it. Using his pistols, he smashed the window and neutralised the driver inside. He took control of the vehicle and drove in the direction of the enemy soldiers.

Kaelene and Ryker gained a momentary advantage with Dante's action and managed to clear the enemies completely.

A New Threat at the Mountain Pass

After the skirmish, the team made it to the pass deep in the Northern Mountains. However, there was another obstacle waiting for them. The pass was guarded by a huge mechanical gate, and an armoured guard stood guard in front of it.

"This won't be easy," Ryker said, scanning the area with his binoculars.

Dante replied coolly as he checked his pistols: "If it were easy, we wouldn't be here."
