Chapter 5: Chapter 5: It's Official
"I didn't think you meant it for real that day. Are you actually doing this?" He asked as he arched his brow at me.
"Yes, I have been wanting to for some time now," I said coldly as determination flashed past my eyes and I remained indifferent. "Thank you for giving me a reason to do so," the words that left my lips were each coated with a thick layer of sarcasm.
"You don't have any income besides that job you took up as an art tutor for the Lloyd family's daughter," he sneered. "How are you going to survive without me? You are nothing without me, Aurelia Holt," he mocked crudely as Stella snickered beside him.
I stepped forward, unbothered by his snide remark.
"Trust me. I will do just fine without you, Blake," I handed him the pen I was holding in my hand. "Sign the papers."
"You are going to regret this, Aurelia," he threatened as he snatched the pen out of my hand. He was just about to sign it when Stella stopped him by grabbing onto his hand.
"Don't do it, Blake," she pleaded with her doe eyes staring right into his. She shook her head lightly, a small pout resting on her lips as she looked between the both of us. "I don't want to be the reason for your divorce," she muttered as tears started to glisten in her eyes and I couldn't help but scoff loudly upon witnessing the scene before my eyes.
"You? The reason for our divorce?" I spat. "Don't think so highly of yourself Stella Brooks. You are nothing but a whore."
As soon as the words left my lips, Blake raised his hand and struck me across my face without a single warning.
"Don't call her a whore!" He demanded angrily and I swore I could see a smirk starting to form on her lips despite the pitiful act she was putting on right there and then. "At least she tried to save our marriage… unlike you! You just chose the easy way out, huh?"
I bit my lower lip as I glared at him with an intense look in my eyes and our gaze met. Without wasting another second, I, too, slapped him right across his face, eliciting a gasp from Stella.
"Blake!" She called out in worry as her hand reached up to caress his cheek gently, her eyes swimming with concern.
"I will call her whatever I want," I said, my voice remaining unwavering as a cold expression masked my features.
"You!" Stella stood in front of him as she faced me. "What the hell is wrong with you?! How could you do that? Why did you slap Blake across his face?"
She didn't see it coming as I raised my arm to slap her as soon as she was done speaking, catching her by surprise. I watched as she stumbled back a couple of steps and a soft yelp left her lips as pain shot through her body. Blake stared at me with wide eyes, anger swirling in the depths of his eyes.
"The same reason I just slapped you," I answered nonchalantly, as Stella grabbed her face and stared at me as if I had just murdered her entire family. "Go figure."
"You crazy bitch!" Blake yelled, his loud voice boomed loudly, echoing in the tiny room.
"Just sign the papers, Blake. And you will never have to see me again, isn't that great? Isn't that what you have always wanted?"
He grabbed the papers once again and signed it without saying another word before shoving it right into my chest. "There. Happy now?"
I smiled. "Very."

The next thing I know, I found myself standing in front of the City Hall with Xavier by my side.
I couldn't believe that this was actually happening.
"Ready to be Mrs Wilder?" He asked as he turned to look at me, breaking me out of my little reverie. A mischievous look was twinkling in his dark eyes as he shot me a playful wink.
I glanced down to see that he had extended his hand towards me. After a brief moment of hesitation, my lips curled upwards into a small smile and I took his hand in mine as we interlocked fingers.
The moment our hands touched, I felt my heart skip a beat but I ignored that feeling and only looked back up to meet his gaze with the same smile still lingering on my lips.
"Let's go," he urged with a charming smile plastered across his handsome face. I hadn't noticed how good he looked back at the hospital, but now that I got a closer look at him, he's definitely my type.
I let him pull me along with him as we walked up the steps when I accidentally bumped into someone.
The man looked at me with an annoyed expression as a hint of recognition flashed past his eyes. He didn't say anything and quickly walked off. I didn't think too much about it as my mind was already buzzing with all kinds of thoughts and questions.
We were in and out of there before I knew it, and we were now officially husband and wife. This felt like a crazy fever dream to me, but this was real. It's my new reality now.
I turned to look at him, his name leaving my tongue as if it had always belonged there. "Xavier…" I began and he whipped his head around to look at me. "Could you follow me back to my place?"
He raised a brow at me. "Someone's eager," he teased as a smirk started to morph itself onto his lips.
My eyes widened and my face turned red in an instant, only then did I realise how inappropriate that could have been. "No! I didn't mean it that way," I quickly exclaimed. "I have some things left there and I wanted to bring them with me."
He laughed. "I was just teasing you. Of course, I could follow you, I'm free anyway," he said nonchalantly with a smile on his face.
The drive there didn't take too long, his chauffeur had dropped us off right in front of the place I used to call home, the place I used to come home to for the last two years.
"I will be out here, just yell my name if you need me," Xavier remarked as he looked down at me and we locked eyes. I nodded with a small smile playing on my lips.
I turned to stare at the house for a while, memories came rushing back into my mind, all the good ones and the bad ones. I knew that this would probably be my last time here as I will be packing my things to move in with Xavier tonight. A soft sigh escaped my lips as I stepped onto the front porch and rang the doorbell as Xavier stayed behind me, hiding somewhere behind a tree.
The door flew open and I was greeted by Blake's annoyed face as he eyed me with disdain.
"You have some nerve showing up here at my house," he spat in disgust.
