Peerless Martial Expert in the City

Chapter 9: Chapter 8 Dislike Two Things

"Zhang Bing, did you check into that kid I asked about? Did you find anything?"

Seeing clearly the figure in front, it was indeed the same kid who had lunch with Wang Qingqing at noon. Young Master Jin's face instantly turned ugly. He turned his head and coldly looked at the young man beside him. This kid's appearance had made his entire afternoon unpleasant, especially when he went to class in the afternoon and found that Wang Qingqing, who had always been well-behaved, had not shown up. The thought that she might have spent the afternoon secretly meeting with this kid gave him the feeling of a fish bone stuck in his throat.

"Not yet, I've asked Zhang Qin to inquire from Wang Qingqing, but Zhang Qin said she hasn't seen Wang Qingqing yet. Young Master Jin, don't worry, we will definitely find out. However, I think, looking at this kid's manner, he probably is Wang Qingqing's old lover or something. Judging by his looks, he seems just like Wang Qingqing, a poor kid from some mountain corner, probably even poorer than Wang Qingqing. We can just go warn him to stay away, and it should be fine. You don't need to get angry."

Zhang Bing, seeing Young Master Jin's unfriendly tone, hurriedly comforted him carefully.

"Young Master Jin, has some blind guy been stealing your girl? Want me to teach him a lesson?"

The driver in the front, after hearing the conversation of the two in the backseat, also roughly understood what was going on and immediately offered his services.

"That works too, Brother Zhao, go warn that kid. Did you see him? It's the one up front in a white T-shirt and grayish-white jeans, holding a silly beggar's bag. See him?"

Before Young Master Jin could speak, Zhang Bing next to him had already responded joyfully, "Teach him a lesson, tell him not to touch women he shouldn't!"

As for this driver, Zhang Bing, who followed Young Master Jin daily, knew him—Zhao Yongcai. Aside from being a driver, he also doubled as Young Master Jin's enforcer and bodyguard, specially assigned by Mr. Jin. His skills, too, had been witnessed previously: back in high school, a sturdy athlete who competed with Young Master Jin for girls was laid down by him with just a couple of punches.

Young Master Jin, with a dark gaze toward Xiao Yi's figure ahead, did not speak to stop him, tacitly agreeing with Zhang Bing's suggestion, feeling that what Zhang Bing said was right. Judging by this kid's clothes, they were street vendor stuff, the whole set not worth more than two hundred yuan, for sure nothing significant.

"Rest assured, Young Master Jin, I will make sure this kid remembers this well."

The driver slowly pulled the car over to a no-parking zone not far ahead, irritating the students riding bicycles nearby, each one of them fuming, especially the student who barely avoided colliding with the Audi. But seeing that the car stopping was a silver-black Audi, they swallowed their anger and silently continued on, carefully steering clear of it.

Xiao Yi also noticed the Audi that had abruptly and arrogantly stopped ahead, his brows slightly furrowing.

The no-parking sign was so obvious, plus it was a bicycle lane, and it was during the peak of students getting out of class. With so many students riding there, for the Audi to squeeze over so boldly was utterly unreasonable and reckless, nearly hitting a student.

But it was just a moment, after which Xiao Yi simply continued walking past it.

Although he was somewhat displeased with the Audi's actions, he wasn't the type with a hero complex, like Superman or Ultraman, aspiring to uphold justice. Generally speaking, as long as it didn't involve him directly or was excessively outrageous, he wouldn't bother with it.

Minding less business is better than minding more, keeping things simple is one of Xiao Yi's principles.

But what he didn't expect was, although he preferred less trouble, trouble seemed to find him.

He had only walked a few steps when he saw a burly man with dark skin and a crew cut getting out of the Audi, heading straight toward him. At first, he thought the man was just walking in the same direction, unrelated to him, so he kept going. However, a few steps later, he realized that the crew-cut man was coming directly toward him, shouting, "Kid, stop right there!"

Xiao Yi stopped, looking puzzledly at the crew-cut man but said nothing.

"Kid!"

Unquestionably, the crew-cut man was Young Master Jin's driver, Zhao Yongcai. Seeing Xiao Yi obediently stopping, he was immediately delighted.

"What do you want?"

Xiao Yi looked quizzically at the crew-cut man, whose demeanor seemed hostile and didn't appear to be someone Jianguo had sent after him. But he didn't know this crew-cut man. Although he didn't boast an extraordinary memory, if they had met and interacted before, he would remember.

"Boy, you've got some nerve, even daring to flirt with a girl Young Master Jin has his eyes on!"

Zhao Yongcai stepped closer, scrutinizing Xiao Yi from head to toe and a flicker of disdain passed through his eyes. This kid was skinny, frail as a bamboo stick, clearly couldn't take a single punch, so he became less polite in his speech.

"What do you mean? What Young Master Jin?"

Xiao Yi was even more befuddled. When had he flirted with any girl? Some nonsense about Young Master Jin—he hadn't even heard of him.

"Good, stop playing dumb with me here. What, are you scared now?"

Zhao Yongcai assumed Xiao Yi was pretending to be confused upon seeing him, unwilling to admit it, which made him even more triumphant. The look he cast toward Xiao Yi filled with more ridicule and disdain.

"I don't know any damn Young Master Jin and I've never flirted with his girl. Please get out of the way."

Xiao Yi thought it over but couldn't figure out what was going on. He guessed it must be some misunderstanding by this Young Master Jin, whatever it was, he wasn't interested in finding out. He was certain he hadn't flirted with any girl and flicked his hand impatiently after figuring it out.

"What's with your attitude, kid?"

Zhao Yongcai was taken aback, anger rising in his chest, pointing at Xiao Yi with a fierce face.

"Don't point your finger at me, I hate two things the most: one is having a gun pointed at me, and the second is having a finger pointed at me. I'll count to three, and you'd better disappear from my sight."

Xiao Yi unceremoniously brushed away his finger and spoke indifferently.

"You... you..."

Zhao Yongcai was infuriated by Xiao Yi's arrogant attitude. Ever since he had followed the Jin family, no one had dared speak to him like that, let alone lay a hand on him. After stuttering a few times, he couldn't hold back any longer, bellowed loudly, and swung his fist fiercely toward Xiao Yi's face.
