Chapter 121: Chapter 121: Let Marine Handle It
"The rebellion in Alabasta is a domestic affair of your country.
In cases like this, even the World Government and Marine can't interfere. You should know that, right?
Princess Nefertari D. Vivi," Ryuen said calmly, looking at Vivi.
The Dream Crew stayed silent, as if what Vivi had just said was nothing out of the ordinary.
And that was the truth.
Over the years, they had seen many rebellions like the one in Alabasta. The difference here was that Alabasta's turmoil was caused by Crocodile.
"Nefertari D. Vivi?"
"Miss Wednesday, you're the princess of Alabasta, Nefertari D. Vivi?!" Mr. 9 exclaimed in shock, completely stunned by Vivi's real identity.
Ignoring him, Vivi continued anxiously, "If it were just a domestic issue, the World Government and Marine would indeed have no reason to step in.
But, my lord, I've recently discovered that the root cause of the unrest in Alabasta is actually tied to Baroque Works!
I was initially investigating the identity of the boss, Mr. 0, but now he's invited us all to visit the Rainbases Casino in Rainbase.
And the owner of Rainbases Casino is none other than Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea!
So now I'm certain—the boss of Baroque Works is one of the Seven Warlords: Crocodile!
A Warlord causing chaos in a World Government-affiliated country... I believe it's the responsibility of both the World Government and the Marines to handle this.
"..."
Mr. 9 stood dumbfounded nearby. Their boss, Mr. 0, was actually one of the Seven Warlords, Crocodile? And the chaos in Alabasta was also caused by him?
"Uh... (°ー°〃)"
"Um... Princess Vivi, since you already know that the boss of Baroque Works is Crocodile, why not report it directly to Marine Headquarters? We're just a regular reconnaissance team, after all," Nojiko asked, puzzled. Wouldn't informing the Marines directly be easier?
"The Marines?"
"But... what if they don't believe me?" Vivi hesitated, but Nojiko's words seemed to make her realize something.
"Princess Vivi, since you know the truth about Baroque Works, just tell the Marines. They'll definitely help you," Nami said gently, seeing Vivi looking a bit lost.
"Soru!"
With a sharp sound, Kuina's figure vanished in an instant.
Moments later, two loud thuds echoed as Kuina descended from the roof, holding two strange creatures in her hands.
"Punishment squad!" Mr. 9 immediately recognized them. They were Mr. 13 and Miss Friday, Baroque Works' enforcers and messengers, often referred to within the organization as the "Unlucky Duo."
Unlucky Duo
"These two were sneaking around on the roof, eavesdropping," Kuina said calmly.
"Good thing they didn't escape. If they'd gone back to report, who knows what could've happened..." Vivi patted her chest, still shaken.
"Princess Vivi, I think you should contact Marine Headquarters right away. This is something they need to handle," Nojiko said seriously.
"But... but I don't have a Den Den Mushi..." Vivi said, flustered.
"Ugh... (′ο`*)))"
"Nami, call Vice Admiral Garp. Let Vivi explain everything to him," Nojiko said, turning to Nami.
"Got it," Nami nodded, then pulled out a Den Den Mushi and started dialing Vice Admiral Garp's number.
---
Somewhere in the Grand Line, aboard the Dog-Head warship, Vice Admiral Garp had just sunk a group of pirates with continuous cannon fire.
He was now directing the Marines to dive into the sea and retrieve the sunken pirates.
When the Marines asked why they had to recover the pirates after sinking them, Garp simply said: "This is essential training for becoming stronger!"
Hearing this, the Marines became excited and enthusiastically dove into the water to retrieve the pirates.
"Wa-hahaha!"
"That's it! No slacking! Make sure to bring them all back!" Garp shouted loudly, munching on senbei.
"Yes, sir!"
"Vice Admiral Garp!" The Marines felt like his words were training guidance, and they threw themselves into the task with great energy.
"Purupurupuru..."
"Hm?"
"Who would call me at a time like this?" Garp muttered, puzzled by the ringing Den Den Mushi.
"Moshi moshi! Is it Tsuru?" Garp answered casually.
"Vice Admiral Garp, who is Tsuru? Your sweetheart?"
The voice on the other end was unfamiliar and startled Garp so much that he nearly dropped the Den Den Mushi.
"Stop talking nonsense!"
"Tsuru is my comrade!"
"Who are you, and how did you get my number?" Garp shouted, quickly masking his earlier awkwardness.
"Hahaha—"
"Vice Admiral Garp is getting mad! Alright, I'll stop teasing you. I'm Nami. There's someone here who needs to speak with you. Vivi, go ahead and talk to Vice Admiral Garp,"
Nami said before handing the Den Den Mushi to Vivi.
"Nami?"
"Oh... so it's you all. Are you in Alabasta now?" Garp's tone softened immediately once he realized who was calling.
"Vice Admiral Garp, um... I'm Vivi, Princess of Alabasta, Nefertari D. Vivi..." Vivi said hesitantly on the other end.
"Huh?"
"Princess of Alabasta? Oh, you're King Cobra's daughter! What can I do for you?" Garp said, quickly recalling who Vivi was.
He had a favorable impression of King Cobra and suspected this call might have something to do with the recent unrest in Alabasta.
Vivi then explained everything—the involvement of Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, in the chaos in Alabasta, as well as his secret criminal organization, Baroque Works. She revealed that Crocodile was the mastermind behind it all.
"I see..."
"Princess Vivi, I understand your concerns. Rest assured, the Marines will address this matter and ensure Alabasta's safety," Garp replied seriously.
He hung up the Den Den Mushi and, after a moment's thought, called Sengoku.
Taking action against a Warlord was no small matter, especially one who was disrupting a member nation of the World Government.
What was Crocodile's goal? Did he want to become king?
*Crocodile: Bingo!*
