Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Machoke

Hidden in the tall grass, Machop carefully observed the movement of a wild Pokémon approaching the area. After determining the perfect moment, it vanished with a sudden burst of Soru.

Sensing the sudden gust of wind, the Mankey barely turned its head before being struck by Machop's expertly executed Close Combat.

The commotion in the bushes didn't escape the attention of a Paras nearby. It turned instinctively toward the source, only to be caught off guard by Meowth's silent ambush.

Meowth moved like a predator through the tall grass, striking from the shadows with Sneak Attack. It pounced on its prey, biting down with fierce precision.

After delivering its attack, Meowth retreated back into the dense grass, avoiding prolonged confrontation.

Paras staggered from the pain of its back wound. The eerie silence after the initial attack made the Pokémon nervous, pushing it toward retreat. However, its cautious movements only revealed more openings to the vigilant Meowth.

Seizing the opportunity, Meowth launched another Sneak Attack, striking the same vulnerable spot and further worsening the Paras's injury.

As Paras faltered from the excruciating pain, Meowth swiftly finished the battle with a combination of Fake Out and Iron Tail.

Once the fight concluded, Meowth blended back into the grass, lying in wait for its next target.

After receiving Ron's approval, Machop followed suit, ready to quickly accumulate experience points by ambushing any wild Pokémon that wandered into the area.

Despite having two skilled "scouts" on the hunt, unwitting wild Pokémon continued to stumble into the tall grass, becoming easy prey for Machop and Meowth.

The sweet aroma drawing them in served as a deceptive lure, masking the true danger lurking within.

With each successful ambush, Machop rapidly gained experience, though it still had not reached the critical threshold for evolution.

When a Weepinbell entered its hunting range, Machop charged in decisively.

Using a combination of Close Combat, Karate Chop, and its newly learned Seismic Toss, Machop quickly overpowered the unprepared Weepinbell, leaving it unconscious.

Machop wasted no time, racing back to Ron with its quickest burst of speed.

Its Pokémon instincts told Machop it was nearly time—it had to stop fishing for prey and prepare for what came next.

Before Machop could use Soru to return, a Ponyta appeared, blocking its path.

Glancing at the fallen Weepinbell nearby, Ponyta quickly realized it had walked into a trap. Its fiery temperament flared, and it launched a direct attack at Machop.

Uninterested in a prolonged battle, Machop vanished with Soru to escape, but Ponyta relentlessly pursued, its keen eyes tracking Machop's movements.

Unbeknownst to Ponyta, another predator had locked its eyes on it.

Meowth struck with Sneak Attack, using the tall grass as cover to ambush Ponyta. It leapt out suddenly, leaving three fresh claw marks on the unsuspecting Pokémon's side.

After the attack, Meowth melted back into the grass, disappearing without a trace.

With Meowth's interference, Machop vanished entirely from Ponyta's view.

Fueled by rage, Ponyta's flaming mane blazed more intensely, with its Flame Body ability turning the fire into a nearly tangible shield.

Using Flame Charge, Ponyta turned into a speeding fireball, tearing through the grass in pursuit of Meowth. The flames left a trail of singed grass behind, though the moisture in the plants and humid air fortunately prevented a larger fire.

As the sweet aroma dissipated, Meowth noticed the subtle change, understanding it was time to end this battle quickly.

Once Ponyta's rage subsided and its flames began to dim, Meowth reemerged for another Sneak Attack, targeting the injured side to worsen its wound.

The sharp pain fueled Ponyta's anger further, reigniting its flames. Before it could unleash its fury, Meowth used Hypnosis.

Against an enraged Pokémon with emotional vulnerabilities, Hypnosis proved particularly effective.

Seizing the moment, Meowth followed up with Fake Out to rouse Ponyta from its hypnotic state and immediately struck with Iron Tail, slamming Ponyta to the ground.

As Ponyta struggled to stand, Meowth unleashed Screech, reducing its defenses while further disrupting its rhythm.

Though Ponyta's fiery spirit refused to give up, Meowth used Hypnosis again, lulling it into a dazed state before delivering a decisive combination of attacks to end the fight.

With Ponyta defeated, Meowth returned to Ron, who tended to the fallen wild Pokémon before leading his team away from the area.

Machop was now one battle away from evolution. The thought of witnessing a real-life Pokémon evolution filled Ron with anticipation.

Eager to make it happen, Ron quickly found another wild Pokémon, a low-level one barely above level 20.

Machop needed no guidance this time. Using two bursts of Soru, it easily overpowered its opponent, ending the battle in moments.

As Machop reached the critical point, its body began to glow with the light of evolution.

The defeated wild Pokémon was carefully moved aside, ensuring it wouldn't disrupt Machop's transformation.

The radiant light wasn't blinding but carried a calming warmth.

To Ron's surprise, his Fighting Aura began circulating within him. His violet eyes perceived faint threads of purple energy drifting from his body toward the evolving Machop.

Though unsure about this mysterious phenomenon, Ron's instincts told him it would benefit Machop rather than harm it.

The evolution process didn't take long. As the light faded, a newly evolved Machoke stood before Ron.

Compared to its previous form, Machoke was taller, more muscular, and now sported a signature belt and briefs—an amusing quirk of Pokémon evolution that never failed to amaze Ron.

Along with its outward changes, Machoke's strength and abilities had also improved. It would take time to fully acclimate, but Ron looked forward to the challenge.

"Congratulations, Machoke!"

Ron extended a hand, which Machoke eagerly grasped, showing the same loyalty it had before its evolution.

Even in its new form, Machoke was still the dependable Pokémon Ron could count on.
