Pokemon: Ace's Adventures!

Chapter 16: Chapter 16:Showing off to the Waifus!

Ace stood before the iconic Oak Laboratory, his blue eyes taking in the structure with a mix of anticipation and nostalgia. He folded his bike neatly, sliding it into his specially designed bag. Smeargle, his ever-curious starter, popped out of its Pokéball and stood beside him. Ace glanced at his companion and smirked.

'Guess you're as curious as I am about this place, huh?' Ace thought as Smeargle wagged its tail eagerly.

With a deep breath, Ace rang the doorbell. A moment later, the door opened, revealing a girl with brown hair tied neatly and wearing a red bandana with a Pokéball design. Behind her stood a blue-haired girl holding a penguin-like Pokémon and another girl with honey-colored hair cradling a yellow fox-like Pokémon.

Ace's heart skipped a beat. His composed expression masked his inner turmoil. 'May? Dawn? Serena? What are they doing here? How did all three of them end up in the same place? This isn't how the anime timeline works!'

May tilted her head slightly, curiosity gleaming in her eyes. "Hi there! Who are you?"

Ace quickly regained his composure, giving a polite nod. "I'm Ace. I'm here on an errand for Professor Cerise. He sent me to meet Professor Oak."

The trio exchanged glances before Serena stepped forward with a sympathetic look. "Oh, you poor thing... So, you're in the same boat as us, huh?"

Ace blinked, his confusion evident. "Same boat?"

Dawn sighed, adjusting her hold on her Piplup. "The professors. They've been at it for hours. It's like they've forgotten we even exist."

Ace followed her gaze into the lab, where he spotted Professor Oak locked in a passionate discussion with three other professors: the tall and charismatic Professor Sycamore, the rugged and outdoorsy Professor Birch, and the stern, no-nonsense Professor Rowan. The four of them were completely engrossed in their debate, oblivious to the newcomers.

Ace sighed, scratching the back of his head. 'So that's why they looked at me with pity. I've walked into a research war zone.'

The girls groaned in unison as they sat back down, clearly bored out of their minds. Their Pokémon—Torchic, Piplup, and Fennekin—were interacting curiously with Smeargle, creating a small commotion. Ace decided to break the awkward silence.

"So... are you three sponsered trainers too?" he asked, genuinely curious.

May nodded, adjusting her bandana. "Yeah, we just got our starter Pokémon, but instead of starting our journeys, we got dragged here for this 'important meeting.'" She sighed dramatically.

Dawn chimed in, "They said it would only take a few minutes. It's been over two hours."

Serena shrugged, her Fennekin curling up in her arms. "Guess this is one of the 'perks' of being sponsored. Endless lectures."

Ace chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Well, judging by how heated that discussion is, they'll probably be at it for a while longer. Might as well make the most of the time."

The trio perked up at his words. "What do you mean?" May asked curiously.

Ace smirked, crossing his arms. "I mean training. You're new trainers, right? Why not get a head start?"

The girls exchanged intrigued looks. Serena spoke first. "That... actually sounds like a good idea. We haven't had much time to do anything with our Pokémon yet."

Ace nodded, standing up and motioning for them to follow him outside. "Alright then. Let's get started."

Once outside, Ace released his Pokémon. Nidoran, Scyther, Clefairy, Elekid, and Spearow emerged one by one, each looking ready for action. The girls were immediately captivated, particularly by Clefairy, who twirled cutely and waved at them.

"She's so adorable!" May squealed, kneeling down to get a closer look. Torchic chirped in agreement.

"She really is," Dawn added, her Piplup hopping closer to inspect the fairy-type.

Serena smiled softly, her Fennekin tilting its head curiously at Clefairy. "Your Pokémon seem really strong, Ace."

Ace chuckled, scratching Clefairy under her chin. "Thanks. They've been through a lot of training. Want to see how it's done?"

The trio nodded enthusiastically, clearly eager to learn. Ace smirked inwardly, thinking, 'Time to show off.'

The girls watched in awe as Ace's Pokémon demonstrated their prowess. Each battle scenario seemed like a well-orchestrated training session, showcasing not just strength but strategy and synergy.

Clefairy darted around Elekid, her movements growing progressively faster as she practiced dodging. Elekid unleashed a barrage of Thunderbolts and Shock Waves, forcing Clefairy to keep on her toes. The fairy-type Pokémon occasionally countered with small bursts of charge beam, but her focus remained on evasion.

May's eyes widened. "Wow, Clefairy's getting so fast! I didn't think she could move like that."

Dawn nodded, equally impressed. "And look at how Elekid's not holding back. It's like he's teaching her to fight under pressure."

However, their attention was soon drawn to Smeargle, who was in a heated sparring match against both Scyther and Nidoran. The normal-type Pokémon moved with uncanny agility, weaving through attacks and countering with precision. Smeargle used Quick Attack to dart around the battlefield, its body occasionally crackling with electricity from Thunderbolt, which it used to deter close-range attacks. At the same time, it launched Swift, the glowing stars empowered by the thunderbolt, forcing Scyther and Nidoran to remain on the defensive.

May gasped. "Is that Smeargle using three moves at once?!"

Dawn stared in disbelief. "That's insane! How is it even managing to do that? And it's holding off two Pokémon!"

Serena's eyes followed Smeargle's movements intently. "It's not just using moves; it's combining them. Quick Attack for speed, Thunderbolt for shock, and Swift for accuracy. That's… incredible."

Ace, standing to the side with his arms crossed, couldn't help but smirk as he listened to the girls' reactions. 'They're starting to understand. And that's to be expected as sponsored trainers are guided by their mentors from a young age so unlike in the Anime they have more knowledge of Pokemon. Though I wonder why ash was still the same.' he thought.

Meanwhile, Spearow was focused on simpler drills. Ace guided it through basic moves like Peck and Quick Attack. Every now and then, Ace would toss a small target into the air, encouraging Spearow to aim accurately and react quickly.

Serena leaned closer to the other girls and whispered, "Even Spearow is getting such focused training. Ace must really care about making sure his Pokémon reach their full potential."

May nodded. "Yeah, and he's so patient with Spearow. It's like he knows exactly what each of his Pokémon needs."

Dawn smiled. "This is the kind of trainer I want to be—someone who really understands their Pokémon."

Ace glanced over at the trio, noticing their captivated expressions. He called out, "Enjoying the show?"

The girls jumped slightly, realizing they'd been caught staring. May laughed nervously. "Well, yeah! I mean, your Pokémon are amazing. How did you train them to be this good?"

Ace shrugged modestly, though there was a hint of pride in his voice. "It's all about understanding their strengths and weaknesses. Each Pokémon is different, so you have to adapt your training to fit them. And, of course, it takes a lot of time and effort."

Dawn tilted her head. "What about Smeargle? It's… unbelievable how it's holding off two Pokémon at once. Is it always this strong?"

Ace chuckled. "Smeargle's my starter. We've trained a lot together, so it's learned to push itself to the limit. But even Smeargle started with the basics. Don't forget, strength comes with time."

Serena looked thoughtful. "Do you think… you could teach us how to train like that?"

Ace raised an eyebrow, his smirk growing wider. "You want to learn?"

The trio nodded enthusiastically. Ace gestured toward their Pokémon. "Alright then. Show me what your Pokémon can do, and we'll go from there."

The girls exchanged excited glances before stepping forward, ready to begin their first real training session under Ace's guidance.
