Pokémon: Chronicles of Freedom

Chapter 331: Chapter 330: Don't Punish Me!

Currently, only a wounded Cloyster remained in the pond.

Hidden Power is a special attack move, and both Murkrow and Haunter have strong special attacks, especially Haunter.

Furthermore, the type advantage of Electric and Grass moves allowed this Cloyster to withstand three rounds of attacks without losing the ability to fight, indicating that its level wasn't low and its combat power was considerable.

However, by not surfacing, it remained like a Pokémon trapped in a snare.

After two rounds of attacks from Haunter and Murkrow, they defeated this Cloyster.

Cain scanned its data.

Pokémon: Cloyster (light green)

Gender: Male

Level: Level 31

Type: Water + Ice

Ability: Skill Link

Held Item: Big Pearl

Egg Moves: Bubble Beam, Rapid Spin

Basic Moves: Tackle, Water Gun, Withdraw, Supersonic, Icicle Spear, Protect, Leer, Clamp, Spike Cannon, Spikes

Learned Moves: Iron Defense, Icy Wind, Water Pulse

TM Moves: None

A level 31 Cloyster with light green quality is a good Pokémon, mainly because its Skill Link ability is quite unique, and if used well, it can have unexpected effects.

The most important thing is that Cain found something interesting: Cloyster was holding a Big Pearl.

Could the Shellder they encountered earlier have also had something like this?

Previously, he'd been too focused on quality and levels, almost missing the chance to make money by ignoring this.

Cain had his Pokémon collect all the pearls from the Shellder, including the one from this Cloyster.

He found that, in total, among almost fifty Pokémon, he had obtained eight Big Pearls and thirty-four regular Pearls.

This was quite a haul.

The ecological environment here was excellent, and since no one had cleared out the Shellder, many of them carried pearls or even Big Pearls.

He captured this Cloyster and stored all the pearls in his ring. Although he didn't find any high-quality Shellder, his interest in them had grown.

However, looking at Gyarados, who looked like a dead dog lying motionless beside him, Cain thought he was exhausted too.

After reflecting for a moment, Cain said, "Slowpoke, use your psychic powers to control those two Shellder over there and throw them into the water. I think their companions, seeing this, won't be able to resist coming up. Then we'll continue with our original plan."

"Sneasel, gather the ice. Murkrow and Haunter, keep gathering power; after releasing the energy balls this time, don't stop—keep gathering. I believe the Shellder and Cloyster that come out later will be stronger."

Both Shellder and Cloyster have very high physical defense, but their special defense leaves much to be desired, which gives Murkrow and Haunter an excellent opportunity to shine.

They were about to level up, and Cain believed that after clearing out everyone here, they would succeed.

The two Shellder, who had lost the ability to fight and were completely devoid of pearls, were thrown into the water by Slowpoke.

The impact on the group of Shellder underwater was much greater than Cain had imagined.

Seeing their companions disappear without a trace after emerging from the water, and then seeing two Shellder returned, the Cloyster and Shellder could no longer hold back.

They opened their shells and showed their anger.

Led by the remaining two Cloyster, all the Shellder surfaced.

Cain, waiting on the shore, was astonished to see about fifty or sixty Shellder emerge at once.

Had they all come out?

But after observing them a bit, Cain was disappointed to see there wasn't a single shiny Shellder among them.

He could only hope to find a good-quality Shellder.

The Cloyster that surfaced were filled with rage upon seeing their unmoving companions on the shore.

But with no Shellder to warn them, they only saw the water's surface near the other Pokémon and didn't realize it was a trap.

More than sixty Shellder fell into the pond like rain.

"It's now!" Cain shouted.

This time, there were many more Shellder, and if they didn't control the situation properly, they could end up eliminating some of them.

Cain's Pokémon responded quickly and unleashed their moves.

The plan remained the same, but this time the counterattack was more intense, especially with the combined assault of the two Cloyster, which had a significant impact on Cain's Pokémon.

Fortunately, Murkrow and Haunter, with the others' protection, managed to release their moves without issue.

As the main attackers in this operation, after using Hidden Power several times, they finally leveled up.

Murkrow rose to level 32, and Haunter to level 31.

With their new level, both Pokémon fought with more vigor, as if they had an endless source of power, releasing Hidden Power into the water relentlessly.

Not only did their offensive power increase, but they also improved their energy control.

Sneasel and Slowpoke managed to prevent the Shellder from escaping, but both Arbok and Ursaring suffered frost damage, and even Skorupi, who was barely involved, was affected by the Ice-type moves.

This showed how powerful the counterattack had been.

The process was exhausting, but the result was perfect.

The more than sixty Shellder lost the ability to fight and were pulled from the water by Slowpoke. Even the two powerful Cloyster couldn't escape the fate Cain had in store for them.

All the pearls were collected, and together with those obtained earlier, Cain had acquired twenty Big Pearls and sixty-five regular Pearls.

The value of these pearls alone had earned him a profit of over a million.

And since these pearls came from Pokémon, their value was much higher than that of regular pearls.

Cain captured one of the two remaining Cloyster, which had light green qualities. The other, with dark yellow quality, he left to lead the colony.

However, among the more than sixty Shellder, he didn't find a single one with light blue or higher quality, which left him somewhat dissatisfied.

But after thinking it over, it was normal. Did he expect that out of a hundred Shellder, one would appear with blue quality?

Since when had blue quality become so common?

Just as Cain was about to return all the Shellder to the water to come back another time to collect more pearls, Slowpoke contacted him telepathically.

Cain listened in surprise and asked, "You're saying there are still some Shellder in the water and that you feel a much stronger attraction to them than to the ones we've already seen?"

Slowpoke nodded. Its psychic sixth sense was telling it so.

"Alright, let's check it out. I'll change my equipment." Cain said as he pulled out his diving gear from his storage space.

Then he gave a kick to Gyarados, who was still pretending to be dead beside him, and grumbled, "Get up already! There are no more Shellder. Stop faking it and take me down to look. If you keep lying there, I'll punish you!"

Upon hearing this, Gyarados trembled and quickly stood up, looking at him with pleading eyes.

Don't punish me!
