"Alright, time to retreat!"

"If you encounter lost or vulnerable Pokémon along the way, try to capture them if you can, but avoid engaging with the rangers. The League's reinforcements might arrive soon, and we need to leave immediately."

After placing the last Moon Stone into his backpack, Murakami motioned for his team to withdraw.

While there were no official leadership roles among the group, the other members instinctively followed Murakami's commands. Not only was he the strongest among them, but his sharp judgment and strategic thinking had also earned their trust.

The reason they had evaded capture by the Pokémon League for so long could be credited to Murakami's leadership.

"Understood!" chorused the team as they nodded in unison.

With everything packed, the group began their retreat.

As they emerged from the cave, whenever a Pokémon was found unconscious or weakened on the path, they tossed Poké Balls carelessly to claim them without hesitation. Years of cooperation had built an unshakable trust among the group, leaving no room for disputes over the spoils.

Hidden nearby, Tyson observed their movements closely. Judging by their actions, he was almost certain these individuals were Pokémon Hunters.

"If this were Team Rocket, they wouldn't stop at just Moon Stones and a few wild Pokémon," Tyson muttered to himself. Team Rocket's operations usually aimed for more ambitious and destructive goals.

Not that it mattered much to him. As a Shadow undercover agent, Tyson had full permission to eliminate Rocket members whenever necessary, provided he maintained his cover.

But Tyson's motivations extended beyond duty. He was here for experience, mission points, and, if possible, a few Moon Stones of his own. Letting these criminals escape without a fight was out of the question.

Instead of rushing into action, Tyson decided to trail them. Quietly, he tracked their movements, analyzing their strategies and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike.

Thanks to Abra's evolution into Kadabra, Tyson's confidence had grown. Kadabra had not only mastered its new powers but also greatly improved its abilities in Teleportation and Position Swap. This gave Tyson the edge needed to take on the hunters, even though their Pokémon were at the elite level.

The hunters seemed to have planned their retreat meticulously. They avoided most wild Pokémon encounters and sidestepped any ranger patrols. This careful route planning made Tyson's ambush all the more challenging.

Before long, the group reached the halfway point down the mountain.

Here, however, even the best-laid plans faltered. The hunters were forced to confront a swarm of wild Pokémon blocking their path.

"Send out your strongest! Push through with everything you've got! If we get bogged down here, it's over!" Murakami barked.

He released his second elite Pokémon, Vileplume, commanding it to carve a path through the horde with precise strikes.

"Kadabra, ready yourself. Target the one on the far left. Use Position Swap and Teleport to secure our safety."

From his perch in the canopy, Tyson gave Kadabra quiet instructions. He had invested heavily in upgrading Kadabra's abilities, confident it would pay off in this operation.

At Tyson's signal, Kadabra shimmered and switched places with Masuyama, the hunter on the far left.

Masuyama barely had time to register the sudden shift before sleepiness overwhelmed him, courtesy of Eevee's Yawn attack.

Seizing the moment, Tyson drove his dagger into Masuyama's chest, swiftly ending the hunter's life.

He stripped Masuyama of his belongings before Kadabra used Teleport to return them both to the canopy. Without hesitation, Tyson discarded the body, letting it fall from the treetops into the chaos below.

"Enemy attack! Target the treetops!"

Murakami's sharp command rang out. The remaining hunters quickly directed their Pokémon to bombard the canopy, but their attacks hit nothing.

"Stick together!" Murakami barked, rallying his team. "They have a Psychic-type Pokémon. Don't give them any openings! If they're attacking like this, they must be weaker than us. Keep your Pokémon close and stay vigilant!"

His calm and precise orders reassured the group. They quickly closed ranks, their trust in Murakami overriding the panic from losing a comrade.

Torre, who had been at the edge of the formation, sighed in relief as he approached the others. The earlier separation had left him vulnerable, and he couldn't shake the fear of being targeted next.

But just as he began to relax, the scenery around him blurred. A split second later, he found himself isolated again—and drowsy.

Before Torre could react, Tyson's blade struck him down.

"Vileplume, Razor Leaf!"

Murakami's reflexes were faster this time. A flurry of razor-sharp leaves tore through the treetops, some returning stained with blood.

Moments later, Torre's lifeless body plummeted to the ground, shredded by the attack.

"Damn it!" Murakami snarled, barely containing his frustration.

"From now on, we stay together! No one moves without a Pokémon watching their back! Attack immediately at the first sign of trouble!"

Despite his anger, Murakami forced himself to remain composed. He knew losing control would spell disaster for the team.

Hidden in the shadows, Tyson smirked. His backpack was heavier with stolen loot, and the mission points he earned from eliminating elite trainers were substantial.

Although interference from wild Pokémon had reduced his reward slightly, the haul still exceeded 1,000 points—a worthwhile venture.

Satisfied but not finished, Tyson continued to stalk the remaining hunters.

Like a patient predator, he waited for them to slip, ready to strike the moment they showed any weakness.
