Mysterious voice: "Who am I?"

(Since the beginning… Humans and Pokémon alike have searched for its meaning.)

Mysterious voice: "What am I? What am I?"

(Many strange and wondrous legends evolved… from the pursuit of life's mysteries.)

Mysterious voice: "Where am I? Where am I?"

(But none is stranger than this tale… of the most powerful Pokémon of all.)

Mysterious voice: "I am ready… to be, to be..."

[Many Years Ago...]

(In a large jungle, where Mankeys climb in the treetops.)

(and a very curious Mew watches while noticing a group of human explorers walk down in the forest.)

Dr. Fuji Entry: August 16: Today my colleagues will reach the site where an ancient civilization may have created a shrine to Mew, the most powerful Pokémon to have ever existed, now believed to be extinct. Giovanni is financing the expedition. When he learned of my work in the field of cloning, he agreed to fund my research, but only if I would try to create for him an enhanced living replica of Mew. I had to agree, for he wants to control the most powerful Pokémon the world has ever known. I, of course, want something more... much more.

(The Mew continues to follow the humans as they travel through the jungle.)

(A Flock of Butterfree fly through the forest.)

(and yet the Mew is more interested in the humans.)

(Soon enough, the explorers have found ancient ruins.)

(and one of them looks like a temple.)

(They walk inside to see an ancient drawing of Mew.)

explorer: "Mew…"

(One of the explorers says.)

(Suddenly, Mew's shadow covers the carving momentarily.)

(catching the human's attention.)

(But quickly moves away before they have the chance to look.)

(Sometime later, the explorers walk inside the tent to find a glowing hair strain and it's glowing green.)

Dr. Fuji: Our team is bringing back what we believe to be a Mew fossil. I pray it's authentic. If so, I may finally have the DNA I need to create a Pokémon powerful enough to survive the cloning process. Perhaps then I can unlock the secrets to restoring life itself.

(Still curious, Mew takes a peek through an opening in the cloth flap covering the door.)

(Then Mew flies away towards a distant mountain covered with snow on the top.)

(After bringing back the fossils, human scientists are at work.)

(They check computer monitors, scan the D.N.A of Mew to clone it's D.N.A to create a powerful Pokemon.)

(One day, in the darkness, there is a Pokemon that is about the size of a child that is all alone.)

(and appears to be asleep.)

(It's a a bipedal, humanoid Pokémon with some feline features.)

(It is primarily gray with a long, purple tail.)

(On top of its head are two short, blunt horns, and it has purple eyes.)

(A tube extends from the back of its skull to the top of its spine, bypassing its neck.)

(It has a defined chest and shoulders, which resemble a breastplate.)

(The three digits on each hand and foot have spherical tips.)

(Its tail is thick at the base but thinks before ending in a small bulb.)

(In its sleep, the Pokemon asks itself.)

???: "Where am I? Who am I? What am I?"

(Meanwhile in the real world.)

(the Pokemon is asleep.)

(in a large testing tube covered by some liquid.)

(and has been connected with multiple suction cupped connectors on it.)

(One of the scientists says.)

scientist: "He's just like all the other clones, doctor. He hasn't gained consciousness."

Dr. Fuji: "I just don't understand it. Its other vital signs are strong."

(Dr. Fuji says.)

(Still in darkness, the young Pokemon opens his eyes to hear the voice saying.)

scientist: "We're measuring brain activity…"

(He begins to wonder.)

???: "I sense others near me... what are those strange sounds they make?"

???: "Those are words. They're talking,"

(The sound of a young girl answers.)

???: "Huh?"

(The Pokemon replies, confused.)

(Then turns to see a bright light appearing.)

(Then begins to take the shape of a young girl.)

???: "What are you?"

(The Pokemon asks.)

???: "What do you mean? I'm a girl. A person,"

(The girl's voice says, taking on it's full appearance.)

(The little girl looks very young.)

(She has light teal color hair, blue eyes, and wears a white dress with white shoes.)

(The young Pokemon floats to the girl and asks.)

???: "A person? Am I a person?"

???: "Well, you look like a Pokémon, but you talk! I didn't know a Pokémon could talk like a person!"

(The little girl says.)

(Confused, the Pokemon asks.)

???: "Pokémon? Person? What are those? Which one am I?"

???: "Maybe it makes a difference to you if you are a Pokémon or a person, but not to me,"

(The girl says.)

(She giggles and twirls around.)

(Then says.)

???: "If you are in this place, maybe you are the same as all of us are!"

(Just then, a Bulbasaur with strange patterns appears, saying.)

Bulbasaur: "Saur!" (Hi!)

(Then a Charmander with the same patterns appears.)

Charmander: "Char!" (Hi!)

(Finally a Squirtle.)

Squirtle: "Squirtle!" (Hello!)

(Meanwhile in the laboratory, one of the scientists looks at the computer.)

(monitors that display the brainwaves of the Pokemon and the little girl.)

(One of the male scientists asks.)

male scientists: "What's that?!

female scientist: "I'm not sure, but Mewtwo and Ambertwo seem to be communicating with the other clones!"

(The female scientist answers.)

male scientist: "But how?"

(The male scientist asks, shocked.)

female scientist: "They could be using telepathy,"

(The female scientist suggests.)

(While listening to the other scientists discussion.)

(one of the scientists, a grown man with gray hair and mustache.)

(and has glasses is looking at a particular test tube that is next to the sleeping Pokemon.)

(The test tube carries some kind of glowing yellow light.)

(The scientist's name is Dr. Fuji.)

(and even though he is in charge of the research for creating the clones.)

(the one with the light is his main focus.)

(He softly says to himself.)

Dr. Fuji: "Soon…"

(In the floating darkness, the little girl says.)

???: "Everybody here's a copy. That's why there's 'two' after all of our names."

(Soon, she and all the Pokemon rotate around to make a circle.)

???: "I don't understand,"

(The young Pokemon says.)

Ambertwo: "They call me Ambertwo, but I'm still really Amber!"

(The young girl, named Ambertwo says.)

(Soon, she and the Pokemon begin to giggle.)

(as they circle around and have a good time together.)

(Even the young Psychic Pokemon is having fun.)

(Meanwhile staring at Ambertwo's light, Dr. Fuji looks at it with deep hope and says to himself.)

Dr. Fuji: "Please... please let my theories be true. I must see my little girl... smile... again."

[Flashback...]

(Sometime ago.)

(in a small town, Dr. Fuji has been working on a special project in the basement.)

(A woman comes to the top of the stairs to see Dr. Fuji is on the computer.)

(Beside him, is a small tank that has the same light that is in the lab now.)

(Just then, a woman, Dr. Fuji's wife walks to the top of the stairs.)

Dr. Fuji's wife: "Dear…"

(Dr. Fuji turns to her and says.)

Dr. Fuji: "I've reawakened her consciousness! Here, in this chamber! I just need to keep it viable long enough to complete the process!"

Dr. Fuji's wife: "Why are you doing this?! You can't bring Amber back."

(His wife asks, clearly sounding upset.)

(But Dr. Fuji says.)

Dr. Fuji: "You're wrong. Look, she lives within this light! Her energy's undeniable. If my cloning theories are correct, we'll have Amber back with us one day soon."

(Unknown to Dr. Fuji, his wife, has clutched her hand on the railing.)

(She doesn't like this plan at all.)

(Sometime ago, Dr. Fuji and his wife's only child.)

(their daughter have died and Dr. Fuji is trying to clone her so she can be brought back to life.)

(However, his wife is against the idea.)

(believing their daughter can never be brought back.)

(Sometime later, Dr. Fuji finda letter laying on the table with his wife's ring and the house key.)

(Behind the letter is a picture of the family along with their child, that is actually Amber.)

(His wife wrote in the letter.)

Dr. Fuji's wife: "I loved our daughter as much as you did, but she's gone. No one can bring her back, and I can't go on watching you try. I'm sorry. Goodbye."

(In his basement lab, Dr. Fuji is sitting in his chair, looking upset.)

(He then gets up and walks to Ambertwo's tank.)

(He begins to stroke the tank as he says.)

Dr. Fuji: 'I'll do anything... to see you again."

[Flashback Ends...]

(Dr. Fuji and another scientist are walking down the hallway towards the lab.)

(Dr. Fuji asks.)

Dr. Fuji: "So, how are they doing today?"

Scientist: "You should be very pleased, doctor. The Pokémon clones are in stable condition, and Mewtwo is growing stronger everyday. One of them is bound to survive. It looks like all our hard work is finally paying off,"

(The Scientist answers with an accent.)

Dr. Fuji: "Yes, Giovanni will be very happy, I'm sure. He may soon have the most powerful Pokémon in the world. But I'll get something much more precious: knowledge... on how to recreate life."

(Dr. Fuji says.)

(He looks at Ambertwo's tank and says.)

Dr. Fuji: "Then... I'll use it to bring her... back."

(Meanwhile, Ambertwo, the Pokemon known as Mewtwo.)

(and the others fly over a town that is similar to the one from Dr. Fuji's past.)

(Ambertwo says.)

Ambertwo: "I call this my remember place. This is where I used to live."

(Suddenly, the sun begins to appear.)

(Mewtwo notices it and asks.)

Mewtwo: "What is that?

Ambertwo: "That's the sun,"

(Ambertwo answers.)

Mewtwo: "What's it for?"

(Mewtwo asks.)

Ambertwo: "It makes the whole world bright and keeps us warm all day."

(Ambertwo answers.)

Mewtwo: "Ah…"

(Mewtwo tries to reach for the sun.)

(Suddenly, the wind begins to blow.)

Mewtwo: "Oh...?"

Ambertwo: "That's called 'wind,'"

(Ambertwo says.)

Mewtwo: "Wind?"

(Mewtwo replies, confused.)

Ambertwo: "The wind helps us along. Sometimes it's soft and sometimes it's very strong."

(Ambertwo says.)

(The group flies over the city.)

(When they stop, they see the sun is beginning to set.)

(Ambertwo says.)

Ambertwo: "And that's the sunset. That's when the sun says, 'Goodnight! See you tomorrow.'"

(When the sun sets, the moon comes out and the sky is dark.)

(Mewtwo asks.)

Mewtwo: "Is that a sun?"

Ambertwo: "No,"

(Ambertwo answers with a giggle.)

Ambertwo: "That's the moon. And the stars are the little lights that twinkle all night just so we won't feel alone in the dark."

Charandertwo: "Char…"

(Charandertwo begins to feel strange and starts to fade away.)

(In the lab of the living world.)

(the female scientist notices the readings on the computer.)

female scientist: "We're losing all readings from Charmandertwo!"

scientist: "No! Not again!"

(The scientist says, frustrated.)

(In the dream world, Squirtletwo and Bulbasaurtwo are beginning to fade away as well.)

(The scientist sees the readings on the computer.)

scientist: "Squirtletwo and Bulbasaurtwo are fading the same way!"

The male scientist: "They look like another failure,"

(The male scientist says.)

(In the dream world, Mewtwo flys around Ambertwo, looking for the vanished closes.)

(Mewtwo asks.)

Mewtwo: "Where did they go?"

(However, Mewtwo notices that Ambertwo is starting to fade away as well.)

(In the lab, the clones of Charmander, Bulbasaur, and Squirtle have vanished.)

(and only Mewtwo and Ambertwo remain.)

(Sadly, Ambertwo shows signs that her life is fading as well.)

(Soon one of the scientists notices.)

scientist: "Doctor... we're... losing her too…"

Dr. Fuji: "Amber…"

(Dr. Fuji says, placing his hand on the glass as he watches her light fades away as well.)

(In the dream world.)

(Mewtwo notices Amber is starting to fade away as well.)

(and the world begins to disappear.)

(Mewtwo asks.)

Mewtwo: "What's wrong Amber? What's happening?"

(Ambertwo sadly smiles and says.)

Ambertwo: "It feels... like it's time... to say goodbye…"

Mewtwo: "Goodbye?"

(Mewtwo asks, confused and sad.)

(Soon, the world Ambertwo has created begins to fade away more.)

(the sky has become black.)

(Soon, Mewtwo's eyes begin to well up.)

Mewtwo: "I feel... something…"

(Mewtwo says.)

(And wipes his eyes, leaving a glittering tear on his hand.)

(He asks.)

Mewtwo: "What are these?"

Ambertwo: "They're tears... you're crying…"

(Ambertwo answers.)

Mewtwo: "Crying?"

(Mewtwo asks.)

Ambertwo: "My daddy used to tell me a bedtime story... that when Pokémon are sad... and they cry... their tears are filled with life."

(Ambertwo answers as her memories and herself continues to fade.)

Mewtwo: "I'm so... sad."

(Mewtwo says as tears pour from his eyes.)

Ambertwo: "I have to go,"

(Ambertwo says.)

Mewtwo: "Why?"

(Mewtwo asks, devestated.)

Ambertwo: "I don't know... but it's all right. Thank you for caring about me... and don't cry Mewtwo. You should be happy. You're alive, and life is wonderful."

(Ambertwo says, and lets out one last smile before she vanishes along with her memories.)

(Soon, Mewtwo has found himself in the darkness once more, and now… he's all alone.)

(Mewtwo lowers his head in sadness.)

Mewtwo: "These tears... What good are they?!"

(Soon, Mewtwo becomes upset that he begins to use his psychic attack in his sleep.)

(and they start emanating from his unconscious body.)

(He cries out.)

Mewtwo: "Please, Amber! Come back! Don't go! Please! Amber!"

(As his powers begin to form.)

(the brainwaves have detected it on the computer.)

(Soon, his brainwave shows that it's going berserk.)

(The female scientist notifies Dr. Fuji.)

female scientist: "Doctor! Mewtwo's brain waves are out of control!"

Dr. Fuji: "It's getting too upset! It mustn't remember this! Administer the serum! Do it immediately!"

(Dr. Fuji says.)

female scientist: "I'll try 100 units,"

(The female scientist says.)

(Then begins to type on the computer as she counts.)

female scientist: "10... 20... 30... 40... 50... 60... 70... 80... 90... 100"

(Dr Fuji asks in a panic.)

Dr Fuji: "What's happening? Is it working?"

(Soon enough, Mewtwo's brain waves are getting back to normal.)

female scientist: "It's brainwaves are going back to normal. Everything seems okay, doctor."

(The female scientist answers.)

(But Dr. Fuji says, a little devastated.)

Dr. Fuji: "Nothing is okay! My Amber is gone forever. Only Mewtwo survives…"

(Time has gone by and Mewtwo continues to sleep.)

Mewtwo: "I have slept for so long... it seems like... forever,"

(Mewtwo says in his sleep.)

(Soon, he begins to grow and his voice sounds older.)

Mewtwo: "I remember something... someone."

(Finally his voice sounds fully mature.)

Mewtwo: "Life is wonderful... but... why?"

[Many Years Later...]

(Finally, after years of a deep sleep.)

(Mewtwo finally begins to open his eyes as he wonders.)

Mewtwo: "Where… am I?"

(When he slowly opens his eyes.)

(he finds himself surrounded by mysterious beings wearing white lab coats and glasses.)

(He feels that his body is unable to move, and feels that he is in some liquid area.)

(He thinks to himself.)

Mewtwo [in mind]: "This is not the same. Was everything before just a dream? Why?"

(Suddenly, a female voice says.)

female scientist: "Doctor, look at this."

(A male voice asks.)

???: "What?"

(The female voice says.)

female scientist: "lts brain waves, they're surging!"

(Soon, multiple voices say differently.)

multiple voices: "Let me see! -She's right! Let's run another scan. -lts mind is racing!"

(Having images of the mountains, the water, Mewtwo softly says to himself.)

Mewtwo: "Those voices."

(A voice continues.)

???: "l hope we don't lose this one!"

Mewtwo: "They're outside,"

(Mewtwo slowly opens his eyes.)

(A voice says.)

???: "We can't!"

Mewtwo: "Where I must be,"

(Mewtwo then fully opens his eyes and suddenly begins to glow blue.)

(Just then Mewtwo begins to use a Psychic power to make cracks.)

(on the test tube until it bursts out and the liquid and shatter glass spill to the floor.)

(One of them says.)

scientist: "Tell Giovanni what's happened!"

(Justy then, the head scientist, Dr. Fuji commands.)

Dr. Fuji: "Quiet! Let us hear its psychic powers."

Mewtwo: "Psychic powers?"

(Mewtwo asks, confused.)

Dr. Fuji: "For years we struggled to successfully clone a Pokémon to prove our theories, but you're the first specimen to survive!"

(Dr. Fuji says.)

(Then present an ancient stone picture of Mew as he says.)

Dr. Fuji: "That is Mew, the rarest of all Pokemon. From its DNA we created you, Mewtwo."

Mewtwo: "Mewtwo?"

(Mewtwo questions.)

(Then asks.)

Mewtwo: "Am l only a copy? Nothing but Mew's shadow?"

Dr. Fuji: "You are greater than Mew. lmproved through the power of human ingenuity. We used the most advanced techniques to develop your psychic powers."

(Dr. Fuji explains.)

Mewtwo: "So l am simply the end result of your experiment."

(Mewtwo replies, understanding what the scientist says.)

(Then Mewtwo asks.)

Mewtwo: "What becomes of me now?"

Dr. Fuji: "Oh, our experiment isn't over! lt's just beginning! Now the serious testing begins."

(Dr. Fuji says, excited.)

Hearing this, Mewtwo says, sounding bitter.)

Mewtwo: "These humans, they care nothing for me."

(He soon sees the humans excited as they shake their hands.)

(They continue to say.)

Scientists: "Congratulations. We've done an excellent job. We'll observe Mewtwo for mutations. ls the new tank ready? We'll have to come up with a cage for it. Excellent. We'll start testing." As the scientist discusses what to do now, Mewtwo looks at his three digits, he clutches them.

(Soon begins to have images and grows resentful.)

Mewtwo: "Is that my purpose? Am I just an experiment?A laboratory specimen? This cannot be my destiny!"

(Soon, Mewtwo has enough, and begins to use his Psychic powers to destroy many of the test tubes.)

(Then uses his powers to push the scientists back, and begin to destroy one of their machines.)

(Robotic arms try to restrain Mewtwo.)

(but he uses his psychic powers to destroy them.)

(With that, he begins to destroy the lab walls, machines, and everything in the lab.)

(The human scientists run for their lives in a panic.)

(Soon, Dr. Fuji is the only one remaining in the room.)

(Soon, Mewtwo uses his Psychic powers to clear the fire.)

(Soon, Dr. Fuji says.)

Dr. Fuji: "We dreamed of creating the world's strongest Pokémon…"

(and Mewtwo creates an aura around his body.)

Dr. Fuji: "...and we succeeded,"

(Dr. Fuji adds, before the lab explodes.)

(The explosion destroyed the lab and the people who were possibly still inside.)

(Right after the explosion, a helicopter is flying over it.)

(Inside is Giovanni, who is actually Team Rocket's leader, arriving with his Persian to see the destruction of the lab.)

(Down below, Meetwo stands before the destroyed lab as the place is still in flames.)

(Mewtwo declares.)

Mewtwo: "Behold my powers. l am the strongest Pokémon in the world. Stronger even than Mew."

(Soon enough, the helicopter lowers itself down and lands on the ground where the destroyed lab is.)

(Sensing another presence, Mewtwo turns his head to face Giovanni walking towards him.)

(Giovanni says to Mewtwo.)

Giovanni: "Those fools thought you were a science experiment, but I… I see you as a valuable partner."

Mewtwo: "Partner?"

(Mewtwo asks.)

(Giovanni nods his head and says.)

Giovanni: "With your psychic powers and my resources… together we can control the world."

(But Mewtwo denies.)

Mewtwo: "l do not need your help for that, human."

(However, Giovanni says.)

Giovanni: "A wildfire destroys everything in its path. lt will be the same with your powers unless you control them. l can help you do that."

Mewtwo: "How?"

(Mewtwo asks.)

Giovanni: "Trust me, and I'll show you a way to focus your powers that will make you… invincible,"

(Giovanni says.)

Mewtwo: "Show me!"

(Mewtwo says, accepting Giovanni's proposal.)

(Soon, the man makes an evil smirk on his face.)

(After the agreement.)

(Mewtwo finds himself having some strange armor put on him with connectors attached to them.)

(along with the helmet that hidden his face.)

(Seeing the armor, Mewtwo says.)

Mewtwo: "You say this armor protects my body… yet it suppresses my powers!"

Giovanni: "Your powers are not being suppressed. They're being focused. Learn to use them to accomplish your purpose,"

(Giovanni says.)

Mewtwo: "What is that?"

(Mewtwo asks.)

Giovanni: "Patience, my friend. Your purpose will become clear,"

(Giovanni says.)

(Time later, still wearing the armor.)

(Mewtwo sees the hatch open to reveal a battlefield.)

(More specifically, the battlefield of the Viridian Gym.)

(On the other side of the battlefield, there is a trainer with an Onix.)

(Giovanni sits in his chair hidden in the shadows.)

(With Giovanni's command, Mewtwo uses his Psychic powers to levitate Onix and slams it to the wall.)

(Impressed, Mewtwo says to himself.)

Mewtwo [in mind]: "So this is my power."

(Another time is when Mewtwo uses his Psychic powers to levitate a whole herd of Tauros into the air.)

(Then, the Team Rocket agents use their Pokeballs to capture them.)

Mewtwo [in mind]: "l am in control now,"

(Mewtwo says to himself.)

(Later on in the Viridian Gym.)

(Mewtwo is battling a trainer with an Alakazam.)

(However, Mewtwo uses his strong Psychic abilities to petrified Alakazam.)

(bends it's spoons, and sends it crashing into the wall.)

(At another battle, a trainer with a Magneton battles against Mewtwo.)

(Magneton uses a Thunderbolt at Mewtwo.)

(but Mewtwo uses a barrier to counter the attack, and has it bounce at Magneton.)

(And as shocking as it is about Mewtwo and his power.)

(Gary is the one who has battled Mewtwo with his Nidoking and his Arcanine.)

(but Mewtwo overpowered them both, leaving Gary in shock.)

(Soon, Mewtwo asks himself.)

Mewtwo [in mind]: "But why am l here?"

(Time has gone by.)

(and Mewtwo is standing in a large lab with the connectors attached to his armor and hasn't moved.)

(Mewtwo soon wonders.)

Mewtwo: "Now l fully perceive my power. But what is my purpose?"

(Suddenly, Giovanni approaches Mewtwo from an upper floor and answers.)

Giovanni: "To serve your master. You were created to fight for me. That is your purpose.

(Stunned by his 'partner's' answer, Mewtwo says.)

Mewtwo: "That cannot be. You said we were partners. We stood as equals."

Giovanni: "You were created by humans to obey humans. You could never be our equal,"

(Giovanni says.)

(Feeling anger and betrayal Mewtwo tells Giovanni.)

Mewtwo: "Humans may have created me… but they will never enslave me. This cannot be my destiny!"

(Soon, Mewtwo begins to move on his own.)

(breaking the cords and gaining control of his Psychic powers.)

(Giovanni demands.)

Giovanni: "Stop this now!"

(Soon Mewtwo destroys his restraints as he says.)

Mewtwo: "l was not born a Pokémon! l was created. My creators have used and betrayed me. So l stand alone."

(With his Psychic powers, Mewtwo begins to destroy Team Rocket HQ until it explodes.)

(Soon, Mewtwo takes to the sky as its armor falls apart.)

(And soon, he returns to the island where he has been created.)

(Once he lands on the ground, his helmet falls off.)

(Mewtwo looks at the sea.)

Mewtwo: "Who am l? What is my true reason for being?"

(Then he declares.)

Mewtwo: "l will find my own purpose. And purge this planet of all who oppose me. Human and Pokémon alike. The world will heed my warning. The reign of Mewtwo will soon begin."

(Mewtwo's eyes begin to glow a blue as he begins to plot his reign upon the world.)
