Pokemon: My Strange Pokemons

Chapter 24: Chapter 24: Cheese

This was the first night since his transmigration that Ethan had not spent at home.

Lying on the soft, luxurious bed in Aurora's lavish villa, Ethan held his Eevee in his arms and reflected on the thrilling and surreal day he had just experienced.

Compared to the rewards he received later, the berries he picked and the Pokémon items he found earlier were utterly insignificant.

On his way home, William had decisively transferred 1.3 million Pokedollars to the account Ethan had left him.

When Ethan tried to give half of it to Aurora, she had just laughed and refused, teasing him with comments like, "The chair you're sitting on is worth more than that."

Shamefully, Ethan accepted the "humiliation."

So now, he had 1.3 million Pokedollars in cash, five Fairy Gems, and a one-year shopping card from the Silph Co.

This time, he truly felt like he'd struck gold!

As long as he didn't get too greedy and raise too many Pokémon, he wouldn't have to worry about covering Eevee and Feebas's food or training costs—at least until college.

Although he technically hadn't captured Feebas yet.

There's a saying that goes, "When someone feeds you, you can't exactly refuse them." Having received so many benefits, Ethan couldn't bring himself to turn down Aurora's invitation to dinner at her home.

After a delightful dinner, the two of them grew closer.

Through their conversation, Ethan learned that Aurora independently ran a Pokémon bio-research tech company, which was relatively well-known in the region. At such a young age, her net worth was already in the billions—a classic "rich woman" archetype.

But Ethan had a firm backbone. He wasn't interested in relying on others' wealth and didn't entertain any peculiar thoughts.

Aurora, for her part, didn't fall into a clichéd infatuation with a handsome young man, as if she were a character from a tawdry romance novel.

Their relationship was close yet clearly defined, and their interactions were genuinely comfortable.

Finally, Aurora used the excuse that Ethan would need to borrow one of her Pokémon the next day to convince him to stay the night.

As he snapped out of his thoughts, Ethan rubbed his head, turned off the lights, and went to sleep.

The night passed without incident.

The Next Morning

Sunlight streamed into the minimalist-decorated room, waking Ethan from his sleep.

He stared at the unfamiliar ceiling for a good ten seconds before realizing he wasn't at home.

Beside him, Eevee was already awake and no longer in the room.

As Ethan tried to get up, he discovered his legs were sore. Struggling to stand, he hobbled through his morning routine.

From the room's balcony, he could see the villa's garden below. There, Eevee was diligently running laps for its morning exercise.

The difference in physical endurance between humans and Pokémon was clear. After a night's rest, Eevee was back to its lively self, while Ethan could only limp his way downstairs.

In the dining room, Aurora and her son, Liam, were eating breakfast at the table. Upon seeing Ethan, they called him over.

"Good morning, Uncle!" Liam greeted enthusiastically.

Ethan could only muster a strained smile in response.

For one, he wasn't feeling great.

And two—couldn't this kid stop calling him "Uncle"?

Aurora shot her son a disapproving glare. "That's rude! Call him brother."

After considering his actual age (soul-wise), Ethan figured being called "Uncle" wasn't entirely unwarranted. He decided to let it slide.

"It's fine. Good morning, Liam. Morning, Aurora."

After exchanging greetings, Ethan took a seat.

Breakfast was lavish, and Ethan didn't hold back, eating until he was about 80% full.

As a maid in a neat uniform cleared the table, Aurora wiped her mouth and said, "I have to head to the company soon. You can borrow whatever Pokémon you like—they're all in the garden. Don't worry about Liam; there are Pokémon at home to keep him company."

With that, she grabbed her bag and left in a hurry. Her brisk demeanor contrasted sharply with the gentle sisterly image she had the previous day.

Liam, used to her sudden departures, grabbed Ethan's hand and pulled him toward the garden.

"Brother! Come meet the other members of our family."

Ethan sighed. First, you call me Uncle, then switch to Brother. What's next? Is your hidden ability Contrary?

Silently grumbling, Ethan followed Liam into the garden.

The garden was teeming with Pokémon. Besides Ethan's Eevee, there were six or seven other Pokémon.

At that moment, Eevee was happily playing tag with a lively Arcanine.

Liam began introducing the Pokémon one by one. First up was a Quagsire, lying lazily on the grass and basking in the sun.

With its tiny eyes staring at the sky, it looked as if it were in a meditative trance—like a living statue.

"Cheese Quagsire!"

Liam's slightly muffled pronunciation made Ethan mishear its name as "Cheese Quagsire."

"Quaaag~"

Hearing Liam introduce it, Quagsire turned its head and gave Ethan a knowing look, as if it could see through everything.

"Hello, Quagsire," Ethan greeted politely.

"He loves sunbathing, so let's not disturb him," Liam said, leading Ethan toward another Pokémon—a Gourgeist.

"This is Cheese Gourgeist. Don't let its appearance fool you—it's actually very shy."

"Gour~"

The Gourgeist gave a short greeting before floating away like a ghost.

It seemed Liam was spot on—this Gourgeist had all the hallmarks of a social recluse.

"Over there are Charizard and Ursaring. They just love roughhousing together."

Sure enough, Charizard was grappling with Ursaring, seemingly preparing for a Seismic Toss.

Ethan decided not to interrupt their play and moved on.

"Finally, there's Arcanine."

Liam called out to the Arcanine, "Arcanine, come here!"

"Woof!"

The Arcanine barked joyfully and sprinted over, only to halt abruptly before reaching Ethan.

Then, as if mocking Ethan's limping gait, it began walking toward him with an exaggerated limp.

Ethan: "..."

I may not be human anymore, but you're a real dog!

What happened to Arcanine being the "Partner of Justice"?

Seeing this, even Satan would want your face tattooed on his chest!

And you, Eevee! What's so funny? Can't you see your trainer is being humiliated?

Furious after being mocked by Arcanine and laughed at by Eevee, Ethan decided to take action.

Pointing at Arcanine, he declared, "I've decided—I'll borrow you this afternoon."

"Woof?"

Arcanine tilted its head, confused. It turned to Liam, who nodded. "Mom said you have to protect Ethan this afternoon."

"Woof..."

Arcanine's expression instantly turned gloomy.

It knew this human's decision wasn't random—it was pure revenge!

Humans are truly cunning!
