Pokémon: No Way! The Golden Finger Only Comes When I'm About To Die!?

Chapter 120: The Awakened Mythical Pokémon

The next afternoon, Angie strolled leisurely through his domain and properties, accompanied by Munchlax, Drizzile, and Haunter. As they passed the apple grove, something caught Angie's eye—a hint of vibrant pink among the branches.

"Could that be…?"

Angie rushed over to take a closer look. Adorning the branches were clusters of red-and-white buds. He exclaimed in surprise, "The apple trees are blooming!"

"Munchlax~ Munchlax~"

Let me see! Let me see!

Munchlax eagerly shuffled over, tiptoeing to peer at the branches. Spotting the tiny buds, it excitedly asked Angie.

"Munchlax~ Munchlax~"

Master, does this mean we'll have apples to eat soon?

"Yes, indeed!" Angie said, patting its head. "Looks like all that fertilizer we used wasn't wasted."

The system's rewarded fertilizer formula had indeed worked wonders.

"Haunter~ Haunter~"

Are apples tasty?

Haunter floated over, curious. It had never tasted an apple before.

"Munchlax~ Munchlax~~~"

They must be delicious, right, Master?

Munchlax gazed expectantly at Angie. It hadn't eaten apples before either, but since its Master grew them, they had to be delicious.

"Drizzile~ Drizzile~"

I know! I know! I've had apples before!

Drizzile suddenly raised a hand, proudly announcing its expertise. Being formerly cared for by Siebold's Grandpa, an excellent chef, it naturally had tried apples.

Hearing this, Munchlax and Haunter immediately crowded around Drizzile, peppering it with questions about what apples tasted like.

With dramatic flair, Drizzile began describing apples to its companions. Its vivid and exaggerated expressions made it seem as though it were talking about some divine delicacy, not just fruit. By the end, Munchlax and Haunter were practically drooling, gazing at the buds with newfound anticipation.

Angie chuckled and poked Drizzile on the forehead. "You're such a storyteller." Turning to Haunter and Munchlax, he said, "Once the trees bear fruit, you'll be the first to try them."

"Munchlax~"

"Haunter~"

Munchlax and Haunter cheered in delight.

At that moment, a group of Vivillon flew gracefully overhead. Angie waved to them, and one with a Fancy Pattern fluttered down, landing on his arm.

The patterns on Vivillon wings vary depending on their place of origin, influenced by local climate and environment. According to Pokémon researchers, 20 known patterns exist, including Garden, Snowy, Tundra, Continental, Meadow, Elegant, Icy Snow, Modern, Marine, Archipelago, Sandstorm, River, Monsoon, Savannah, Sun, Ocean, Jungle, Poké Ball, and Fancy.

Vivillon with different patterns are born in habitats matching their designs. For instance, Vivillon with Icy Snow patterns emerge in extremely cold regions, while Snowy patterns come from snowy locales. In perpetually warm regions, Ocean-patterned Vivillon are common.

On the Nebel Plateau, Vivillon are found with patterns like Garden, Continental, Meadow, Elegant, River, Sun, and Fancy.

Garden Pattern Vivillon are born in places abundant with flowers, such as the sprawling flower fields on the western side of the Nebel Plateau, which bloom year-round.

Continental Pattern Vivillon come from expansive, open landscapes, making the plateau's vast grasslands an ideal habitat.

Meadow Pattern Vivillon originate in lush, green areas—an apt description of the evergreen Nebel Plateau.

Elegant Pattern Vivillon are born in regions with distinct seasons. Although the plateau itself doesn't have clear seasons, the nearby Azoth Kingdom does. Elegant Pattern Vivillon arrive in the plateau during winter to escape harsh cold elsewhere.

River Pattern Vivillon emerge near flowing rivers, like the Nebel River.

Sun Pattern Vivillon are born in places with abundant sunlight, a characteristic of the plateau's sunny climate.

Among these, the Fancy Pattern Vivillon is unique—there is only one on the Nebel Plateau. It evolved in the dining hall of Diancie's Grand Banquet Hall and is now the leader of the Vivillon on the plateau.

"Vivillon~~"

After landing on Angie's arm, Vivillon affectionately reached out to hug him.

Angie pointed at the flower buds on the branches and said, "The fruit trees are about to bloom. I'll have to rely on you and your kind to take care of them from now on!"

"Vivillon~~"

Vivillon nodded happily and fluttered off Angie's arm, landing delicately on one of the flower buds. It gently kissed the bud before swiftly soaring back into the sky to rejoin its group. The Vivillon flock flapped their beautiful wings as they departed, leaving behind a trail of colorful, glowing scales that sparkled as they fell.

Angie watched the Vivillon disappear into the distance, feeling a little wistful. Although Vivillon and other butterfly Pokémon had the ability to pollinate, they didn't produce honey. Most butterfly Pokémon were like that.

After bidding farewell to the Vivillon, Angie continued his leisurely stroll with his three apprentices, heading toward the fishery.

Meanwhile, elsewhere on the Nebel Plateau, at the edge of a cliff, a Pokémon soaked in a hot spring turned over lazily in the water.

This cliff lay at the plateau's boundary, where it met the northwestern mountain range. The cliff's walls were riddled with numerous caves, one of which housed a hot spring. It was here that the guardian deity of the Nebel Plateau resided—a mythical Pokémon.

Thanks to this guardian's presence, the Nebel Plateau enjoyed eternal spring.

This Pokémon was none other than Volcanion.

Volcanion spent most of the year sleeping but would always awaken with the arrival of spring.

Normally, Pokémon of the Nebel Plateau avoided approaching Volcanion's cliff. Angie, too, had been explicitly warned to steer clear, so he had never seen the guardian deity in person. Over time, Angie had almost forgotten about its existence.

After rolling in the water, Volcanion slowly opened its eyes, sensing the shift in the seasons. It spoke: "Spring has come again, hasn't it?"

Rising from the water, it walked to the entrance of the cave and gazed out over the Nebel Plateau.

Two Altaria flew swiftly across the sky with a flock of Swablu, their cheerful chirping fading into the distance.

The Altaria and Swablu didn't notice Volcanion's awakening, but Volcanion noticed them.

"It seems everyone fared well this winter."

Volcanion could discern the Pokémon's well-being at a glance. Seeing them in good spirits brought a smile to its face.

After taking in the view, Volcanion turned and walked back into the cave. In one corner of the cavern, another Pokémon rested.

This Pokémon had a silver, metallic body, its entire form appearing as though it had been forged from steel. Humanoid in shape and roughly the size of a human girl, it sat motionless with its eyes closed in slumber.

Volcanion approached and extended a foreleg, gently nudging the Pokémon.

"Magearna, wake up. Come on, wake up!"

This Pokémon was Magearna, another mythical Pokémon. Created by the mysterious Azoth Kingdom arcane scientist Nikola, Magearna had once belonged to Angie's sister, Queen Anna.

Slowly, Magearna opened its eyes.

"Magearna~"

Volcanion said to Magearna, "Spring has arrived."

"Magearna~"

Magearna perked up with excitement, climbing onto Volcanion's back and patting its head.

Volcanion chuckled indulgently. "All right, all right. I'll take you there."

With that, it carried Magearna to the cave entrance. The mechanical arms on its back, typically folded, extended outward, releasing a burst of steam. In an instant, Volcanion rocketed into the sky like a jet.

Within moments, the two mythical Pokémon had arrived at the western flower fields of the Nebel Plateau—Magearna's favorite place.

Pancham, Heliolisk, Skitty, Stunky, and Linoone, having finished their work for the day, were playing in the flower field.

"Pancham~ Pancham~"

"Linoone~ Linoone~"

Pancham and Linoone were chasing each other playfully through the flower bushes, their movements sending petals swirling into the sky.

Heliolisk sat in a corner of the field while Skitty and Stunky played hide-and-seek around it.

"Heliolisk~ Heliolisk~"

Heliolisk picked a small flower and beckoned Skitty and Stunky to come over.

"Skitty~"

What is it?

"Stunky~"

What is it?

"Heliolisk~ Heliolisk~"

Heliolisk placed the small flower behind Skitty's ear.

"Skitty~ Skitty~"

Skitty was delighted and proudly asked Heliolisk if it looked pretty.

"Stunky~ Stunky~"

I want one too! I want one too!

Stunky nudged Heliolisk's belly with its head.

"Heliolisk~ Heliolisk~"

Wait a moment.

Heliolisk smiled warmly and soon crafted a flower crown for Stunky to wear.

Stunky's face lit up with joy as it carefully touched the flower crown on its head, cautious not to damage it.

"Skitty~"

Am I pretty?

"Stunky~"

Am I pretty?

Skitty and Stunky questioned each other gleefully, then joyfully darted through the flower field, their cheerful laughter echoing among the blossoms.

At this moment, the Volcanion descended from the sky with Magearna.

"Pancham~"

"Stunky~"

"Skitty~"

"Heliolisk~"

The Pokémon, seeing Volcanion and Magearna, were pleasantly surprised. They stopped playing immediately and rushed to the two Mythical Pokémon.

"Oh, you're all here too," Volcanion said happily. It felt a wave of affection seeing these little ones after such a long time.

The Pokémon hopped and jumped around Volcanion, while Magearna quickly dismounted from Volcanion's back and hugged each one of them in turn.

"Magearna~"

The Pokémon adored Magearna, snuggling into its embrace.

Volcanion looked at Linoone and Heliolisk in surprise. "You two have evolved?" A smile spread across its face. "Well done, well done."

Seeing that Magearna had already blended seamlessly into playtime with the Pokémon, Volcanion said, "You all keep playing here; I'm going to look around elsewhere."

As the guardian deity of Nebel Plateau, it naturally had to check on how everyone was doing.

"Magearna~"

Magearna nodded.

This time, Volcanion didn't fly but instead strolled leisurely toward other parts of Nebel Plateau.

However, just as Volcanion left, Pancham seemed to recall something and started shouting anxiously at Magearna.

"Pancham~ Pancham~"

"Magearna~"

Magearna looked puzzled, not understanding what Pancham meant.

At this moment, Skitty and Heliolisk also seemed to realize something and began to grow anxious.

"Skitty~ Skitty~"

"Heliolisk~ Heliolisk~"

Pancham and Heliolisk, seeing Magearna's confusion, each grabbed one of its hands and ran out of the flower field.

Meanwhile, on Volcanion's side.

As it reached the grasslands, it saw rows of wooden cabins in the distance—home to the Gogoat and Skiddo.

"What's that?"

Because the distance was a bit far, it couldn't clearly make out the details of the cabins.

With curiosity, Volcanion quickly ran toward the cabins. Upon arriving, it saw not only neat, clean rows of wooden cabins but also chicken coops, pigsties, cow sheds, and other facilities nearby.

"What's going on here?"

Volcanion's face darkened with anger. These were clearly human constructions. Could it be that Nebel Plateau had been taken over by humans while it slept?

The thought of the Pokémon suffering under human oppression enraged it. Steam surged from its body as it shot into the sky.

Looking down from above, Volcanion saw Angie's Diancie's Grand Dining Hall, vast vegetable fields, and thriving orchards…

When it spotted Buneary herding cows, Pachirisu herding sheep, Croconaw managing pigs, and Bunnelby and Deerling tending chickens, its suspicions deepened.

Sure enough, The Nebel Plateau had been taken over by humans!

Just then, Angie appeared in its line of sight, returning from a walk.

Angie and his three disciples had just come back from the fish farm, all in high spirits. The fish in the farm had finally grown big enough to eat.

Angie carried a bass in his hand. Though it wasn't as large as the wild fish from Nebel Lake, it was enough for a treat.

Munchlax was equally thrilled, as fish was its favorite food. Angie had promised it an abundance of fish once the farm thrived.

"Munchlax~ Munchlax~"

Munchlax skipped happily at the front, swinging its arms and singing an unfamiliar tune.

Boom!!!

Suddenly, a massive, dark red figure descended from the sky, accompanied by a gust of wind so strong that it nearly blew Angie and his disciples off their feet.

"Humans!" the Pokémon roared, its voice brimming with fury. "Are you the ones whose oppressing the Pokémon of Nebel Plateau?"

Angie whose just getting up from the ground: ???
