Pokémon: No Way! The Golden Finger Only Comes When I'm About To Die!?

Chapter 136: The Invited Legendary Pokémon

In front of the Brave Olivine, Friede said to Angie, "Alright, this is where we part ways. I hope we'll meet again in the future."

Angie nodded. "Farewell for now."

With that, Friede and the members of the Rising Volt Tacklers boarded the ship.

With a loud rumble, the ship slowly began to ascend. Everyone stood at the railing, waving goodbye to Angie.

Orla: "Angie, goodbye! Thank you for your hospitality!"

Murdock shouted as well, "Let's keep in touch by phone! And Magearna too!"

"Alright! Definitely!" Angie responded to Murdock.

"Magearna~"

Magearna happily waved to Murdock, still looking forward to learning how to make desserts from him!

Diancie chimed in, "Goodbye!"

"Pawmi~!"

Pawmi who is perched on Angie's shoulder, waved its hand vigorously at the ship, bidding farewell to the new friends it had made.

"Pikachu~!"

Captain Pikachu stood at the ship's railing, calling back loudly to Pawmi.

And so, the Rising Volt Tacklers's ship gradually disappeared from Angie and his companions' sight.

Once the Brave Olivine was completely out of view, Angie turned to everyone and said, "Alright, let's head home!"

"Munchlax~"

Munchlax was the first one to step up to Angie and smiling brightly as it held Angie's hand.

Pawmi immediately jumped onto Metagross's head, raising its fist and shouting.

"Pawmi~!"

Let's go Home!

And so, the family of eight cheerfully made their way home. It was a rare day when Komala didn't venture out and stayed to bid farewell alongside everyone.

As for Volcanion, it definitely didn't show up—it was probably going outside to play soccer again.

While walking back, Magearna spotted a cluster of wildflowers blooming in the grass. It skipped over to pick them, and by the time it returned, it was holding a beautiful flower crown.

"Magearna~"

With a big smile, it placed the flower crown on Diancie's head.

Diancie carefully touched the crown on her head, then gave Magearna a sweet smile. "Thank you, Magearna."

"Magearna~"

It's pretty! You look so pretty, Diancie!

Magearna happily hugged Diancie.

Angie noticed and complimented, "It looks great."

Diancie rarely showed a hint of shyness. "Really?"

Angie nodded. "Really! If you don't believe me, ask everyone."

"Munchlax~"

"Pawmi~"

"Drizzile~"

"Gengar~"

The Pokémon all chimed in enthusiastically to agree.

Munchlax, Pawmi, Drizzile, and Gengar quickly nodded their heads in agreement with Angie.

The family laughed and chatted as they walked, when Munchlax spotted another cluster of beautiful wildflowers. Unable to resist, it rushed over excitedly.

Spring had arrived, and even the flowers on the plateau were blooming in abundance.

When Munchlax returned, it held a flower crown in its hands and walked over to Gengar, who was carrying Komala. Munchlax extended the flower crown to Gengar.

"Gengar~"

Is this for me?

Gengar pointed at itself in surprise.

"Munchlax~ Munchlax~"

It's for Junior Sister.

Munchlax nodded with a big grin.

"Gengar~"

Gengar blushing while lowered itself, allowing Munchlax to place the flower crown on its head.

"Gengar~~"

How does it look?

Gengar touched the crown on its head and, with a flushed face, asked Drizzile nearby.

"Drizzile~"

Without hesitation, Drizzile gave its Junior Sister a thumbs up but inwardly grumbled: the elder Brother beat me to it, darn it!

Behind Drizzile, Angie followed, complimenting Gengar. "Munchlax has great taste. Gengar, you look beautiful."

He also patted Munchlax's head, thinking: What a warm-hearted little guy.

"Munchlax~"

Feeling the warmth of Angie's palm, Munchlax looked up and grinned brightly at him.

"Gengar~"

Angie's praise made Gengar even shyer. It blushed deeply and hid behind Munchlax.

At that moment, Angie noticed that the flower crown on Gengar's head seemed to be glowing. Curious, he asked, "What's that?"

As he spoke, he approached Gengar and carefully examined the crown. He pulled out a crystalline green leaf from it.

The leaf was a vibrant green, semi-transparent, and emitted a faint glow.

Angie studied it for a while before a look of surprise crossed his face. Isn't this the Verdant Grass described in the advanced recipe for Green Dumpling? It's the main ingredient for making Green Dumpling!

He quickly turned to Munchlax, holding up the leaf. "Munchlax, where did you find this?"

Munchlax looked puzzled. Did it even pick that up?

Angie said, "Take me to where you gathered the flowers."

"Munchlax~~"

Munchlax nodded and led Angie to the spot where it had been earlier.

Sure enough, in a patch of grass, Angie found a small cluster of Verdant Grass, each about the size of a palm. The surrounding grass was ordinary, but this small patch was distinctly different.

Why? Angie fell into deep thought.

After pondering for a while, he noticed the Gogoat and Skiddo herd grazing on the nearby grassy field. Suddenly, it clicked.

It's Grassy Terrain!

Could ordinary grass exposed to Grassy Terrain for extended periods transform into Verdant Grass? Angie couldn't think of another explanation.

He quickly plucked the cluster of Verdant Grass and ran toward the Gogoat and Skiddo.

Diancie, Munchlax, and the others, not knowing what was going on, exchanged confused glances and hurried after him.

The Gogoat and Skiddo stopped grazing when they saw Angie approaching.

Holding up the Verdant Grass Angie asked the Gogoat leader, "Gogoat, have you seen grass like this before?"

"Gogoat~"

The leader of the Gogoat took a look at the Verdant Grass and nodded its affirmatively.

"Where did you see this? Could you take me there?" Angie asked hurriedly.

"Gogoat~"

Of course!

The Gogoat turned around and began walking in a certain direction, its little ones following closely behind. It glanced back occasionally to signal Angie to keep up.

Sure enough, under the Gogoat's guidance, Angie discovered patch after patch of Verdant Grass. He also noticed that these grasses primarily grew along the path that was visited frequently by the Gogoat.

So, it seemed likely that these Verdant Grass had indeed sprouted due to prolonged exposure to the Grassy Terrain.

But... why were most of these Verdant Grass has been nibbled down to just their roots?

"Isn't there a single intact patch left?" Angie asked the Gogoat and its little ones.

"Gogoat~"

"Skiddo~"

Hearing this, the Gogoat and Skiddo looked embarrassed. The glowing grass was simply too delicious; whenever they came across it, they couldn't help but devour it completely.

Angie sighed and rubbed his forehead. Still, he understood. He said to the Gogoat and Skiddo, "I can make delicious food using this grass, something even better for your health. So next time you find it, could you let me know first?"

Hearing this, their eyes lit up. Something tastier than Verdant Grass? How good could it be? As they thought about it, they couldn't help but drool.

"Gogoat~"

I'll hold back next time.

"Skiddo~"

For better food, we'll resist!

The Gogoat and Skiddo nodded their heads in agreement with Angie.

Angie then asked, "Would you like to have even more Verdant Grass?"

"Gogoat~"

"Skiddo~"

The Gogoat and Skiddo eagerly nodded their heads.

Angie continued, "I suspect the Verdant Grass is just ordinary grass that has been bathed in Grassy Terrain for a long time. So I'm thinking, if you focus your Grassy Terrain on a single patch of land, perhaps you could grow endless Verdant Grass."

At Angie's suggestion, the Gogoat and Skiddo recalled that Verdant Grass only started appearing after they had learned Grassy Terrain.

Realizing this, they became visibly excited.

"Shall we give it a try?" Angie proposed.

"Gogoat~"

"Skiddo~"

The Gogoat and Skiddo eagerly jumped and nodded.

"Alright, let's pick a spot to experiment with—preferably somewhere with lush grass," Angie said with a smile.

Hearing this, the leader of the Gogoat grabbed Angie's sleeve with its mouth and pulled him in a specific direction. After all, who knew the lushest patches of grass on the Nebel Plateau better than them?

"Gogoat~ Gogoat~"

How about here?

The Gogoat leader brought Angie to a sloped meadow and asked.

Angie patted its neck in approval. "This is a perfect spot. You really are the experts when it comes to this. Let's use this area."

"Gogoat~~"

With a loud call, the Gogoat leader summoned the others. The group of Gogoat and Skiddo hurried to the slope, one by one activating their Grassy Terrain. Before long, the entire meadow was enveloped in the green glow of the move.

Angie stood at the edge of the slope, waving to everyone. "I'll leave this project in your capable hooves!"

"Gogoat~"

"Skiddo~"

The Gogoat and Skiddo happily hopped in response to Angie.

After giving his instructions to the Gogoat and Skiddo, Angie turned to Diancie and said, "Let's head home!"

And so, the family once again walked home joyfully. Having secured another key ingredient for an advanced recipe, Angie was in a great mood.

When Angie was happy, so was Munchlax. It began humming an unrecognizable tune alongside him, drawing laughter from everyone.

As they approached the house, a Capsakid came rushing toward them, its face full of urgency.

"Capsakid~ Capsakid~"

It ran up to Angie, waving its arms and shouting, but it was so frantic and incoherent that Angie couldn't make out what it was trying to say.

Seeing that words weren't working, the Capsakid grabbed Angie's pant leg and began tugging him toward the house.

Angie asked, "Did something happen at home?"

"Capsakid~ Capsakid~"

The Capsakid nodded eagerly, its face lighting up with relief.

"Let's hurry back home."

Feeling a surge of concern, Angie picked up the Capsakid and rushed home with Diancie and the others following quickly behind.

When they reached the front door, Angie froze in his tracks. He rubbed his eyes vigorously.

Am I really seeing the Legendary Pokémon Xerneas standing here?

At that moment, Xerneas was surrounded by Nacli, Garganacl, Dolliv, Capsakid, Scovillain, Gardevoir, Gallade, Ralts, and Meowstic, as well as other Pokémon.

Angie's arrival immediately caught Xerneas' attention. It turned its head to look at Angie, its eyes glinting with kindness. Simultaneously, a gentle, compassionate, and divine voice resonated in Angie's mind.

"Oh my~ It seems the master of the house has returned!"

Angie slapped his cheeks hard, leaving two bright red marks.

It's not a dream?! But why?

The voice echoed again, "It seems my presence here has surprised you, hasn't it?"

Angie, still overwhelmed, took a few steps toward Xerneas. In his daze, he subconsciously asked, "Are you Xerneas?"

Xerneas nodded. "It appears you know of me."

The Pokémon gathered around Angie as he approached, crowding close to him protectively, their eyes fixed on Xerneas.

Seeing this, Xerneas' eyes curved into a crescent shape as it smiled. "It seems they're very fond of you."

Angie glanced at his Pokémon companions and gently patted each one on the head to reassure them. While Xerneas exuded an aura of peace and kindness, its sudden appearance—being a Legendary Pokémon—understandably left everyone feeling uneasy.

Xerneas is a Fairy-type Pokémon known as the Life Pokémon, is said in legends to possess the power to share eternal life.

"Xerneas, why are you at my doorstep?" Angie asked in confusion.

Xerneas tilted its head and replied, "Don't you know? Your Pokémon invited me here!"

"My Pokémon? Invited Xerneas?" Angie felt his brain was short-circuiting. "Who invited you? When? And for what?"

His shock was so great that he blurted out his thoughts directly.

Xerneas explained, "It was the Oinkologne and Charcadet who invited me for a meal. They said your place welcomes any Pokémon for food. Isn't that true?"

"Yes, yes, of course!" Angie nodded quickly, suddenly realizing the truth. It had to be Oinkologne and Charcadet! That made sense—besides Komala, the ones frequently going out were just those two.

He could only say: Good job!

But when had Oinkologne and Charcadet invited Xerneas?

Since the two of them weren't back yet, Angie couldn't ask them directly. Instead, he turned to Xerneas for the story.

After Xerneas recounted Oinkologne and Charcadet's encounter, Angie froze in place.

Wait a minute, wasn't it supposed to be a Sawsbuck who are delivering the Plump Beans to Oinkologne and Charcadet? What a huge misunderstanding!

At that moment, Volcanion returned from outside. When it saw Xerneas talking with Angie, its jaw dropped.

Why is Xerneas here?

Xerneas noticed Volcanion too and said, "Oh, it's you. So this is where you've been."

Volcanion stammered, "Y-yes!"

Even the usually grumpy and stubborn Volcanion couldn't help but behave when faced with the Life Pokémon. After all, the two of them knew each other.

Xerneas enjoyed traveling across the Kalos region, and many years ago, they had met briefly when Volcanion hadn't yet settled in the Nebel Plateau.

Volcanion hadn't expected that after all this time, Xerneas would still remember it.

"Hee hee hee~~~"

Magearna, who had never seen Volcanion acting like this, couldn't help but cover its mouth and laugh.

Xerneas glanced over at Diancie and Magearna before turning its attention back to Angie. "You've gathered quite the unique group of Pokémon around you."

Hearing this, Diancie bent down gracefully and gave a polite greeting to Xerneas.

"Xerneas, it's a pleasure to meet you."

This was definitely a moment where it couldn't lose its royal elegance.

Seeing this, Magearna quickly mimicked Diancie's actions and greeted Xerneas.

"Magearna~"

"Hello to you both," Xerneas said warmly, its eyes sparkling with kindness.
