POKEMON: PICK UP THE MYSTICAL POKEMON DIANCIE AT THE BEGINNING

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Father and Son

Chapter 4: Father and Son

After understanding the new functions of the system, Victor took out the Diancie Mega Stone from the system space.

[Diancie Mega Stone]

[A mysterious stone that holds the power of evolution beyond its limits. Carbink can accelerate its mutation into Diancie after carrying it.]

The Diancie Mega Stone can accelerate Carbink's evolution!

This was undoubtedly good news!

Carbink, sitting beside him, had its eyes fixed on the stone from the moment Victor took it out. Carbink's own instincts told it that this stone played a crucial role in its present and future.

After Victor checked the information about the Diancie Mega Stone, he immediately noticed the eager gaze of Carbink, staring intently at the stone in his hand.

"Take it, this is for you," Victor said as he spread his palms flat. Holding the Mega Stone, he positioned it in front of Carbink.

"Hey, hey, hey!? (Can I really give it to Carbink?)"

Victor chuckled. "Of course, this can be considered a gift from me to you!"

Upon hearing Victor's confirmation, Carbink's rocky body leaped up happily.

"Thank you for the gift, trainer~! Carbink will also return the favor in the future~"

Carbink's body bounced closer and closer to the Diancie Mega Stone, until the two were nearly touching. The stone began to emit a soft pink light, slowly floating towards Carbink and eventually merging completely with its body.

---

The sound of a lock being unlocked interrupted Victor as he was talking to Carbink.

His father, John, the current gym leader of the Fire Gym in the United Alliance, had returned home.

Sure enough, a short while later, John knocked on the door of Victor's room.

Knock, knock, knock

"Victor, are you back?"

John's voice entered the room.

Victor slipped into cotton slippers, his feet in white cotton socks, stretched his long arms, picked up Carbink, and walked toward the door.

"Here~."

Victor answered his father's call as he walked.

After opening the door and holding Carbink in one arm, a sturdy man in a red plaid shirt appeared before him.

Victor immediately introduced Carbink to his father, and the father and son sat on the sofa in the living room, chatting for a while.

Although John still didn't completely understand why his son had not chosen a fire-type Pokémon, he expressed his support for Victor's choice.

In John's mind, Carbink, as a specialty Pokémon of the Kalos region, was generally used as a supporting member of a team. Its high defenses and the variety of moves in its skill pool made it a distinctive Pokémon.

However, how to cultivate Carbink in the future was something that Victor had to consider. As a father, John could only offer help within his capacity.

The father and son talked for a while before John suddenly said, "Now that you've chosen your initial Pokémon, it's time to prepare your second Pokémon. Fortunately, there's an excellent Pokémon available soon."

Victor had no objection upon hearing this. Given that his father's vision was one of the top five in the united Alliance, it was definitely trustworthy.

"But..." John changed the subject.

"You and Carbink need to work harder and grow stronger. After all, many fire-type Pokémon will only follow your commands if you're stronger than them."

Victor understood what his father meant. If one's strength was insufficient, many fire-type Pokémon, especially those not raised from eggs, would be difficult to command.

As a trainer proficient in fire-type Pokémon, John's advice was invaluable, and Victor decided to begin training with Carbink the next day.
