Chapter 23: Battle at the hearth of Mount Chimney Part:2
Maxie was in shambles; his plan was failing, and if he didn't do something fast, he was done; this was his final ace; taking out an Ultra-ball and a Fast-ball, Maxie freed his last options before being forced to use his mega.
"Charizard! Whimsicott! Buy me time to activate the meteorite!"
As Charizard and Whimsicott were freed from their pokeballs, Charizard let out a roar; his orange scales opened and closed sharply as they made contact with the hot environment. Charizard was clearly in pain, but the environment made it stronger.
On the contrary, when Whimsicott was freed, it just floated around, letting the air move him around, with a silly face as she spun around Charizard.
In the field, there was May's Balziken and Helena's Gardevoir against Maxie's Charizard and Whimsicott; the "harsh sun" was in effect, boosting Charizard's special attack, May and Helena knew this was a decisive turn, and they had to take a correct decision.
Helena thought as fast as she could; what would Dune do?
'He would probably grope my ass... or stare at Gardevoirs breast... no! I know!' Helena then raised her hand. "Protect this turn," she whispered to May. "Gardevoir, use [Hypnosis] on Charizard!"
May heard Helena, and she commanded Blaziken to use [Protect]; Maxie turned around and began playing with the control panel of the machine the meteorite was resting in, letting his Pokemon move on their own.
Whimsicott moved with priority and went behind Charizard, using [Tailwing] to boost Charizard's speed.
Charizard aimed at Blaziken then took a deep breath, moved its right claw behind its wings, and launched a devastating [Air slash] in Blaziken's direction, but Blaziken protected and avoided any damage.
As Charizard's move failed, Gardevoir used the opportunity to cast [Hypnosis] on Charizard; concentrating and putting her hands on her head, Gardevoir launched a psychic wave that immediately put her to sleep Charizard.
Blaziken's feet began burning, signaling it had gained its first speed boost. May and Helena smiled, and with Charizard asleep, there was nothing to worry about.
Whimsicott was clearly in distress. It was a support Pokemon, and with the primary damage dealer gone, there was nothing it could do, so the Whimsicott gave up and used [Sunny day] to keep the room temperature as high as possible for Maxie's Camerupt.
"Blaziken, use [Thunder Punch] on Charizard and finish him!"
"Gardevoir, use [Hypnosis] on Whimsicott! We can't risk it having endeavor!" Helena ordered Gardevoir.
Both Pokemon oblige, Blaziken's fist engulfed in currents of electricity before she launched herself at the sleeping Charizard, while Gardevoir used [Hypnosis] once again, putting Whimsicott in a peaceful sleep.
Charizard fainting, the scales on his belly scorched black from Blaziken's fist, while Whimsicott's body rolled to a corner of the room and lay still.
"It's over, Maxie! give up; you have no Pokemon left!" May screamed at him while Blaziken's legs were engulfed in flames; it was the ideal field for her, the effect of harsh sunlight and two boosts to her speed; Maxie could do nothing to turn the tables now!
"He... I guess that's true..." Maxie said, slowly pulling out a Pokeball from his inner coat. "Good friend... You are my last chance."
Maxie turned around and proudly stood tall, deactivating the machine and throwing his last Pokeball high, releasing his previous Pokemon and his ace.
As Camerupt landed, the whole room shook, and the crystal floor cracked due to the weight and poker of Camerupt; it exhaled ash as it stared directly at Blaziken without an ounce of fear.
Maxie grabbed his lab glass and touched the gem on its side, starting to shine. Camerupt was engulfed in a crystal barrier that didn't allow anyone to look as it mega-evolved, but something strange happened.
His system would have shown him the message if Dune had been there.
[Field Contion: Accomplished

Starting Radiancy....]
The meteorite still inside the machine began emanating a blue shine and broke the glass containing it, the blue light refracting on the Camerupt cuple, creating a beautiful light show.
The moment Camerupt was freed from the barrier where he mega-evolved, everyone in the room, including Maxie, was in shock; the previous regular Camerupt was replaced by a massive towering figure with blue fur and blue magma descending from a mini-volcano that had grown on its back.
Camerupt uttered a massive roar and showed his fangs, which Maxie immediately recognized as a smile. "Camerupt! I don't know what happened, but let's show this little brat what you have to offer!"
"Use Eruption!"
May and Helena were shocked too, but as the Camerupt prepared an attack, both girls brushed the shock off and ordered their Pokemons.
"Blaziken, use [Close Combat]!" "Gardevoir, use [Mystical fire] and reduce his special attack!"
Blaziken disappeared fast as lightning and dealt a barrage of fists and kicks to Camerupt, who barely felt the attacks, while Gardevoir connected her [Mystical fire], reducing Camerupt's special attack.
Camerupt closed its eyes and breathed heavily. The air was tense, and even Maxie was weary of what Camerupt would do.
First, blue flames came out of Camerupt's back, then some tiny magma stones came flying out, and finally...
Camerupt erupted, and a massive wave of fire came out of his back, engulfing Helena's side on fire.
Blaziken jumped in front of Helena and May to protect them, and so did Gardevoir. They took most of the flames, and Gardevoir dropped instantly to the ground and fainted, with Blaziken barely standing, with most of her fur scorched or in the fire.
Her legs were now completely covered in flames, 4-speed boost, yet she couldn't make Camerupt flinch.
"Blaziken..." (May, take the rich girl and run to the surface, I'll buy...)
"Gab, Gabite?!" (Run!? Who said anything about running?)
