Although Mewtwo remained silent, a slightly neutral voice suddenly echoed in everyone's minds.

"My rules are mine to make. You humans have no right to dictate them!"

Brock frowned. "This voice... it's telepathy!?"

As Mewtwo's voice resonated, it raised an arm, unleashing its psychic powers. In the blink of an eye, Fergus was surrounded by psychic energy and lifted into the air.

"Be careful not to choke on your aspirations, Human", Mewtwo commented with a cold voice.

Pain flashed across his face before Mewtwo, with a casual wave, flung him into the pool nearby as if discarding garbage.

Without so much as a proper introduction, Mewtwo demonstrated its overwhelming power, leaving everyone present in stunned silence.

Glancing at Gardevoir beside him, Kai whispered, "I don't know what this guy's true intentions are for inviting me, so stay alert."

Meanwhile, Ash and the others took out their Pokédexes, scanning Mewtwo. But no matter which model they used, none of them displayed any data.

"Is this really a Pokémon? Or just some kind of... creature in Pokémon form?"

"You dare to attack me!?" Fergus, now soaked, climbed out of the pool, gritting his teeth. He angrily shouted, "Gyarados, use Hyper Beam!"

From Fergus's team of six Pokémon, his Gyarados roared and surged forward. It opened its jaws wide, gathering energy into a beam that shot straight at Mewtwo.

But Mewtwo calmly raised its left hand, forming a barrier of psychic energy. The Hyper Beam was effortlessly deflected and rebounded, striking Gyarados instead.

The massive Pokémon was sent hurtling backwards, crashing into the pool and landing next to its trainer.

"What!?" Fergus exclaimed in shock, hastily checking on his Gyarados. The overwhelming display of power left everyone else frozen, too afraid to make a move.

"You're of no use to me," Mewtwo declared coldly. With another wave of its hand, Nurse Joy, who had been standing rigidly, collapsed to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut.

Brock rushed forward, catching her before she hit the floor. "Are you okay?"

Joy slowly opened her eyes, looking around in confusion. Her iconic red hair slipped out from beneath her nurse's cap, which had shifted during her fall.

"Where am I? How did I get here?"

Mewtwo's voice answered, "You are here to serve me. Your expertise in Pokémon physiology made you essential for my experiments, which proceeded smoothly thanks to your assistance."

"I helped you?" Joy rubbed her temples, wincing. "But... I don't remember anything."

"Of course not," Mewtwo replied with chilling indifference. "With my power, I can manipulate human memory and thought at will. Once, I wanted to coexist with humans."

"But I was disappointed. Humans are inferior beings compared to Pokémon. If this planet continues to be ruled by weak and selfish creatures like humans, it is doomed to destruction."

Corey scoffed. "So your solution is to let Pokémon rule the world?"

Mewtwo shook its head. "Not even Pokémon are fit to rule. They have been conditioned to serve humans for too long. Such dependence makes them incapable."

Pikachu jumped forward, sparks flying from its cheeks, protesting Mewtwo's words.

"You claim you stay with your trainer out of choice?" Mewtwo sneered, its gaze icy. "How pitiful. Such thoughts are nothing but a mistake."

A blue aura flared in its eyes as it used Psychic to hurl Pikachu backwards. Ash caught his partner, tumbling several meters before landing hard.

"Weak Pokémon rely on humans. They are no different from you!"

Mewtwo's declaration left no doubt about its disdain. Everyone, including Kai, realized they had been lured here under false pretences.

This was no tournament to find the strongest Pokémon trainer it was all a ploy by Mewtwo.

"Stop spouting nonsense!" Corey snapped. "A Pokémon is still a Pokémon, no matter how rare or powerful you are. I can tame you! Go, Rhydon!"

Corey's Rhydon charged forward, but as it neared, Mewtwo immobilized it with Psychic and flung it back, smashing the long table into pieces beside its trainer.

The overwhelming gap in power left everyone shaken.

"Give up," Mewtwo declared, its voice calm but menacing. "From the moment I was created, I have been the most powerful Pokémon on this planet."

But instead of discouraging Ash, Mewtwo's words fired him up.

"How can you know that for sure unless we try?" Ash countered.

Mewtwo regarded him coolly. "Are you challenging me?"

Ash nodded firmly. "That's right!"

With a flash of psychic energy, the ground opened up, revealing a platform that rose to reveal three Pokémon: Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. Unlike normal Pokémon, they bore strange, unnatural markings on their bodies.

"These are Pokémon I created through cloning," Mewtwo explained.

"Clones!?"

As the trainers looked on in shock, the wall behind them dissolved, revealing an open-air battlefield.

"If you want to challenge me, then let's battle. Let's see whose commands prevail when using the same Pokémon!"

Faced with Mewtwo's provocation, the trainers sent out their own Pokémon. Corey called out his Venusaur, Fergus his Blastoise, and Ash released his Charizard.

The two sides left the hall, heading toward the battlefield. But Kai lingered at the back, deliberately falling behind.

When the others had gone, Kai slipped away, retracing his steps to the entrance and heading down a different corridor.

In the dim hallway, Kai moved swiftly, with Gardevoir keeping close to him. From his shadow, Haunter emerged, eyeing him curiously.

"Why sneak off now?" Haunter asked. "Aren't you curious about their battle?"
