POKEMON : THE WAY OF PERCEPTION

Chapter 78: Chapter 79: The True Genius of the Pokémon World

"Deliver information to Professor Bill? No problem!" Ash said confidently. He was eager to meet Bill because, in Ash's eyes, Professor Bill was the true genius of the Pokémon world.

Bill, whose full name is Sonezaki Bill, hails from Goldenrod City in the Johto Region. Despite his young age, he is a master in multiple fields.

Before Bill's invention, the Pokémon world lacked a teleportation system. Trainers were forced to carry all their Pokémon with them or store them at home when not needed. Bill revolutionized this by creating the Pokémon Storage System, a groundbreaking innovation that allowed Poké Balls to be teleported to a designated location, making life for Trainers much easier.

Another of his genius creations was the Time Capsule, a device that enabled Trainers to trade Pokémon across great distances. It allowed Trainers to switch out their current team with Pokémon stored in their storage system without having to return home.

These inventions significantly reduced the burden on Trainers, streamlined Pokémon management, and enabled the Pokémon League to establish better organizational systems.

Recently, according to Professor Oak, Bill had taken an interest in fossil Pokémon. He aimed to study fossils to understand how ancient Pokémon survived or became extinct. When Oak received fossil data from a discovery in the Great Valley, the first person he thought of sharing it with was Bill.

"This is the fossil data…" Ash said as he glanced at the printed sheets. However, many of the terms were too complex for him to understand. Even Brock could only make sense of some of it.

"It says here that Pokémon fossils were found in the Great Valley…" Brock said, looking surprised. He pointed to the details, which hinted at the discovery of an Aerodactyl fossil.

Aerodactyl, an ancient Pokémon thought to be extinct, was occasionally sighted in remote wilderness areas. In recent years, fossil restoration technology had advanced enough to resurrect Pokémon like Aerodactyl, bringing ancient species back to life.

Bill had also played a significant role in developing fossil restoration technology, solidifying his reputation as the most talented inventor in Pokémon history.

"I can't believe we'll have the chance to meet Professor Bill in person. What a rare opportunity!" Brock said with excitement as the two returned to their dormitory.

"I've always wanted to ask him about Pokémon ecology. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!" Brock added, clearly determined to make the most of the visit.

"Then it's settled. We'll head to the Cerulean Channel tomorrow," Ash said, studying the map. Initially, he had planned to go directly to Saffron City to challenge Sabrina, but this new mission required a detour.

"We can head south after visiting Bill," Brock suggested. "That way, we'll pass through Lavender Town, then Vermilion City, and eventually reach Saffron City. After that, we can continue to Celadon City and Fuchsia City."

"That makes sense," Ash agreed. The revised route would save them time and effort.

The Giant Dragonite

That night, while Brock went to wash up, Ash lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling and thinking about what lay ahead.

He recalled the episode from the anime where a super-giant Dragonite appeared near Bill's lighthouse. The Dragonite's brief appearance didn't showcase much of its strength, but Ash was convinced it must be extraordinarily powerful.

Dragonite, being a pseudo-legendary Pokémon, already possessed incredible strength. A giant Dragonite would likely be even more formidable, with immense energy reserves.

"Its Tackle might be stronger than a standard Pokémon's Giga Impact," Ash thought. "And if it used Blizzard, it could probably transform an entire region into a frozen wasteland."

As much as Ash dreamed of catching such a Pokémon, he knew he wasn't ready yet. Even if he managed to catch the giant Dragonite, housing and feeding it would be a significant challenge. For now, he resolved to grow stronger and revisit the idea in the future.

Bill's genius, meanwhile, continued to amaze Ash. Although Bill only appeared briefly in the anime, his contributions to the Pokémon world were monumental. Bill's work in the Special Manga and Pokémon Games highlighted his importance, inspiring Ash to learn more about him.

Ash didn't envy Bill's achievements; his ambitions lay elsewhere. He aspired to become the world's greatest Trainer, confident that one day he would stand on equal footing with Bill, albeit from a different perspective.

Misty's Farewell

The next morning, Misty stood at her house's entrance, reluctantly bidding farewell to her three sisters. Her sisters also looked sad to see her go.

The night before, the four of them had shared a bed, chatting late into the night as if they were children again. During their conversation, Misty learned about her sisters' struggles and pressures. She realized their teasing wasn't meant to belittle her but to shield her from their burdens.

Through the heartfelt talk, the sisters felt lighter, having shared their worries with each other.

"Take care of yourself out there," Daisy, the eldest, said, her tone both warm and firm. "And don't cause too much trouble for Ash and Brock, okay?"

"I won't," Misty promised.

"Most importantly," Violet added with a teasing grin, "keep an eye on Ash. Don't let any other girls get close to him!"

"Violet!" Misty exclaimed, blushing furiously. Her sisters laughed, and the somber mood eased.

After one last hug, Misty turned to leave. She walked several steps before stopping and looking back at her sisters.

"I promise to become an excellent Trainer," she declared, her voice filled with determination. "One day, I'll come back and take over your responsibilities. I won't let you down!"

Her sisters smiled, pride evident in their expressions, as Misty walked away, ready to face the adventures that awaited her.
