Chapter 33: CHAPTER-33
Underground lab:
Noah and ralts walked side by side with chandelure following behind them.
The atmosphere was silent with Noah being the only one getting awkward by it.
Finally he couldn't take it anymore and asked the ralts:"So are you alone?"
The ralts immediately nodded in response ending the conversation before it could even start.
'Nevermind, I will just keep on doing what I was doing.' Noah finally felt the pain of his friends when they texted him.
'My only replies would be ok, sure, good or the thumbs up emoji.' His friends made fun of him for that.
'But they weren't really my friends, they were just fragments of memory forced into my brain.' The loving memories of his parents, the friendship which started in his teenage years,
The people he hated and despised, the ones he adored and loved, they were all-
Just fake memories.
'No maybe they're real but not for me.' The man had previously said that the memories from earth seems to be the memories of the cult leader.
'So if he had all this then why did he do those evil deeds? Wasn't the love from his parents enough? Was the friendship fake? Was the love of his life not able to satisfy him?'
Noah state of mind became agitated without him realising.
'Just what made him do it? Money? Power?
Or a deal to return?' He wanted answers.
The quiet walk in the dark gave him some time to reflect on the whole ordeal that happened today.
'And what made him that twisted? The modern age had hammered morals into the back of our minds so that even a worthless dog dying can make someone cry.'
'Or the god he worships made him like this.'
He could not jump into conclusions without hearing the other side of the story.
"Raa..." Ralt's voice snapped Noah out from his monologue.
He raised his head and looked at the huge monitor on the wall.
'Do I have to turn it on to find something?' The movie scene from detective Pikachu resurfaced in his mind.
However he didn't have to go to such lengths because the moment he took a step forward,
The monitor flickered for a moment untill it turned on.
A man with curly brown hair and brown eyes wearing a lab coat was looking through the monitor with boredom.
'He needs a skincare routine.' Noah was visibly disgusted by the acne on the man's face.
"Welcome visitor, my name is Raymond and I am the head scientist of the Pokehuman project." The man started speaking while adjusting his glasses.
'Not gonna lie he kinda sounds like a rat.' Noah kept on listening.
"We humans are weak, helpless creatures compared to the Pokemon who is still a mystery to us." The man continued.
"Some of you may argue that Pokemon are creatures that have supernatural power what's so mysterious about them?"
"This would be the thoughts of an average native of the Pokemon world, if you had come from my world you would understand." The man seems to have clear disdain towards the Pokemon world and it's inhabitants.
"And I am sure the person who is watching this is not from this world so I don't have to waste my time explaining." Raymond took a deep breath.
'He is very impatient.' Noah looked down to see that the ralts was looking at the man with a look of sheer disdain.
'There is some history between them huh?'
Noah couldn't wait to hear it.
After knowing about it he would probably strangle his past self to death.
"So back to the subject humans are weak,
We are not the apex predators of this world.
We can only wait for our death if the predators of this world attacked them." Raymond clearly hates Pokemon.
"So our messiah, the right hand man of God himself found out a solution for our troubles."
'Ohhh Pokehuman.....Don't say what I am thinking right now.' Noah could vaguely guess what the research was about.
"That is to combine a human with a Pokemon."
The man said that as if it wasn't wierd.
Bill doesn't count.
"We did a lot of research, adults were termed useless after thousands died after a week of the fusion."
"Teenagers were better than them but their bodies couldn't handle it."
"Toddlers were the best results but they still didn't make the cut. Their DNA was easier to alter."
'What is their problem with the children!?' Noah had no answer to that.
The monitor flickered and it showed pictures and videos of the pokehuman project.
"We made a breakthrough after fusing an embryo with the Pokemon embryo and after that we made hundreds of them."
"We used the woman who refused the great conversion that happened a few weeks ago as test subjects."
"The problem was that most of them suicided because of their dignity but unfortunately for them we can also make use of a dead body."
Noah mouth hung wide open in fear as he saw the dead body being implanted with an embryo.
"But they weren't really a success because the pokehumans looked far too similar to the Pokemon than the humans and they weren't able to evolve."
Hundreds of Pokemon, most of them being disfigured which could make anyone bend over and puke was shown on the monitor.
"Due to this we abandoned it but our leader had some plans left for it and made me make this recording."
"So I hope the person on the other side will be able to achieve the life long goal of our leader."
The man offered a small smile and the monitor cut to dark.
Noah however wasn't smiling anymore as he looked at the monitor in a daze.
"Why....?"
He just couldn't understand.
Just why?
You wanted humans to become the rulers of this planet?
Then why use the same humans you want to have at the top be used as guinea pigs.
Don't they have morals? Empathy?
Are they even humans?
'Just why?' Noah's hands were clenched as his nails dug into his flesh.
'I don't want to hear their reasons.' He only wanted to see them die.
'So what if they have a god behind them?' Noah didn't care.
He knew that he was valuable for them.
Without him how could the leader come back again?
Noah was the result of their huge project known as Noah's ark.
They can't throw him away well maybe they can but they still need his body and the souls in it.
'I need to calm down.' To be honest Noah wasnt someone who would get this much agitated over words.
But the images and videos were burned into his minds and he held down the urge to vomit.
He turned his head towards the bowl cut Pokemon and asked: "Was your mom there in the video?"
The ralts raised her hand and pulled her hair back revealing a deep ugly scar on her forehead.
It pointed at it and said with joy:"Mama."
Noah was stunned he stared at ralts for a few moments and turned his head away.
'Well who wouldn't?' Noah stood up and walked towards the exit.
Ralt's seeing that Noah was leaving started to follow him.
'I guess the others died of hunger or other reasons.' Noah hated the cult even more.
He despised them.
Noah was a sympathetic man who would feel bad even when seeing a begger on the road.
Finally he reached the metal door and turned around towards the ralts.
"Do you want to come with me?" Noah atleast wanted to give her a good life.
Ralt's however refused as she shook her head and pointed towards a tunnel near the ceiling.
'Well I guess it's her choice.' Noah also didn't feel very comfortable about it but his sympathic side won and wanted ralts to leave this place.
He sighed and started walking towards the walls filled with nature as the sound of the closing door could be heard from behind him.
'Imagine not knowing what parental love is,
Living alone in a dark and ruined lab with no one by your side, only waiting for your inevitable death.' Noah stopped for a second and thought about it.
Can he go through such a thing?
The answer is no.
So should he allow others to have such a fate?
The answer is also no.
'I don't care if she wants to stay, I will show her the outside world and let her decide if she wants to stay here or not.' Noah turned around and started to approach the metal door.
Although Noah's actions are noble he was a bit late.
Ralt's had already served her purpose before Noah could reach the door, an explosion occured.
The massive door was sent flying as wind rushed and fire spread.
Noah just stood there waiting for the rapidly approaching door to crush him to death.
However before it could reach him a certain four-winged purple bat, the size of a car snatched him from the ground and rushed to the exit.
It was Noah's golbat who had evolved into a crobat.
Noah could care less about it now as he kept his eyes on the burning lab.
Just like before.
Just why...
Why!?
He didn't understand.
Why did he need to understand.
How could he understand people like these.
That day was the just the start of Noah's path towards insanity.
