Chapter 56: 55. Zombies
Chapter 55
Putting the blunt side of the nodachi on my shoulder, I looked at the wary teenagers who stood in front of me. It was even interesting what they had managed to come up with there. Although Takashi, despite his obvious apprehension, was examining my weapon with all his might, and it seemed that it was this that was the first thing that was bothering him. It was even interesting what he saw?
"Is something wrong?" I decided to ask, trying to act out genuine bewilderment.
- What's wrong?! Everything is wrong! Where did you get a damn katana at school! - Saya, who was clearly nervous, exploded.
- Ah, so that's what's bothering you! - As if only now realizing the reason for the girl's displeasure, I stuck my hand into my jacket as if looking for something in the inside pocket and pulled out a neatly folded sheet of paper from my inventory and unfolded it, showing it to the girl. - Here, I have a permit to carry a bladed weapon.
- What...? - the girl was clearly confused by this, and then flared up again. - Even with such a permit, you can't bring a weapon to school!
"Why?" I asked, innocently tilting my head as if I really didn't understand.
- You... you... Argh, to hell with you, I'm too smart to waste my time on you! - the girl gave in.
"Hehe, the tactics of a stupid genius at its finest!" I chuckled to myself.
- Only a few martial arts masters are given such permission, for self-defense, how did you get it? - asked the plump boy Hirano.
- Hmm, I can hit the center of a moving target from a distance of up to 500 meters with a bow, does that count as mastery of martial arts?
- What are you, a ninja? - Ray blurted out.
"I don't understand what you're talking about," I said, looking away and judging by the way the girl's eyes lit up and she looked like she'd figured out some amazing secret, I'd just been given a convenient cover story.
- Your katana... - Takashi began to speak uncertainly, while maintaining a mask of calm. - Do you know who forged it?
"Of course," I nodded and, noticing his expectant look, I added.
"I made this beauty myself," I said, running my hand along the flat side of the blade with a satisfied smile.
Hearing my answer, Takashi clearly began to fear me even more, but if he didn't have my reaction speed, then hardly anyone else around them noticed these flashing emotions.
- ... I suggest we don't delay any longer and go to the labor class. - After a short silence, Hisashi, the "friend" of the main character of this world, who stole his girlfriend, suggested.
Having agreed with him, we began to slowly walk towards the class we needed. Why were we walking slowly if I was with them? They were forced to check all the classrooms we passed, as well as literally every corner. Apart from me, only Takashi did not suffer from such nonsense, although it seems to me that he seemed to sense that there would be nothing interesting behind the doors.
As we advanced, we came across corpses every now and then. Looking at the trampled mess that was once people, I still couldn't understand. Why? Okay, after the world of magical battle and Satoru Gojo's aura, you'd have to try really hard to scare me, but those walking next to me were ordinary people, although I doubted Takashi. How could ordinary schoolchildren have enough self-control in a situation where not every soldier would have been able to keep from panicking?
So thinking like this, I moved forward, monitoring my surroundings with the sensory information I received from the "six eyes", hoping that with constant use, I would be able to adapt to my left eye enough so that I wouldn't have to hide it forever behind a sealing bandage, until suddenly my fellow travelers stopped.
"Did something happen?" I asked, turning around.
- The labor office is on the floor below, the stairs are at the end of the corridor. - said Saya.
- Then why did we stop? - asked the Mathematician.
- Because in this corridor there is a music room, and in it a recording studio, from where the school broadcast was conducted, - the politician's daughter answered her.
- Let's take a look there, - Takashi suddenly spoke, drawing the gaze of those around him, and most of us looked at him as if he was crazy.
"Komuro, don't you have enough thrills?" Takagi Saya asked him.
- It's doubtful that the reason for his screams is still there, the person would have definitely left the crime scene, and the beast would have smelled us. - The others immediately became wary of the guy's assumption, and he continued. - Besides, you forgot about the announcer, even if he can't be helped, we can understand what exactly happened and what awaits us.
- And that means we can better prepare for possible troubles. - Hisashi picked up the words of his "friend".

Takashi Komuro's thoughts were racing at a tremendous speed, trying to understand how everything had come to the current situation. A month ago, his memories of his past life had awakened, and with them the system. Luckily for him, it had happened during the summer holidays, right after the past him had broken up with Rei, and hiding behind the consequences of his ex-girlfriend's betrayal, it was easy to explain his changes, and they were simply enormous. The system he had come across was something like a craftsman's system, providing him with almost any necessary knowledge, as well as the ability to handle tools. At first glance, this may not seem like something too cool, until you realize that the system's understanding of tools includes various weapons and equipment. The only thing that was difficult was that knowledge could only be obtained upon request, and if the system had not been foolproof, he would have already been a vegetable, although, even so, once having carelessly decided to try to get knowledge about necromancers from the system, his brain was storming with headaches for several days. And an extremely disgusting mood from the information he received, which he would prefer to forget, what's even worse now, examining the corpse, on which traces of human teeth were clearly visible, flashbacks from the knowledge of the necromancer came to him and now, amazing those around him with his deduction skills, obtained from the knowledge of the tracker and hunter, he shared part of his thoughts with those around him.
- Wonderful, just wonderful! A cannibal maniac is wandering around the school! - the politician's mad daughter started screaming again. Oh, how Takashi missed the silence in his workshop. And these girls... He didn't understand those who chased after every skirt and also tried to get a harem. There he would have to find at least one, one with whom it would be cozy to live together and not have their brains eaten out with a teaspoon, and a harem is real masochism!
Slightly grimacing from the girl's screams, Takashi, under the watchful gaze of the one whose presence really scared him, began to examine the corpse. It was strange. It seemed like the man had been killed literally fifteen minutes ago, but he was so stiff as if at least a day and a half had passed. The pallor of the corpse was also disconcerting. The amount of blood on the floor and wall was not that much, and there was no puddle under the body, although a real fountain should have been gushing from such wounds. Plus, intuition was signaling, and the system began to highlight the corpse with a red aura.
At that very moment, the guy's intuition gave a particularly strong signal, and he jumped away from the corpse. And just in time, the corpse tried to grab him by the clothes, while clearly opening its mouth.
"What the hell!" Takagi exclaimed.
- If I were you, I would watch my words, otherwise someone more dangerous than a possessed corpse might come to visit us. - Takashi said, smiling slightly, looking at the corpse that began to walk in the direction of the screaming girl.
The guy wasn't going to wait long and was already preparing to pick up a chair to hit the undead, when 4 red flashes flashed before his eyes, and the walking corpse was left without its limbs.
