Chapter 4: (4)training arc 2

"Nooo!" I yall as I reach for Iver grabbing him as his body slums to the ground.

With Ivers body on my lap, I saw his blood begin to stain my clothes and hands, and I couldn't help but think why he would do this.

The Iver I now is smart, calculated, and emotionless, someone who never did anything without reason.

So why would he kill himself, is this a new type of game he's playing, but I can see the wound in his head and the leak of a heartbeat and breathing is a clear sign that this is real.

'Ivers gone'

overwhelmed with emotion I bury my face in his neck, and do the only thing I can do, I cry, and mourn Iver.

'It's over' I trembled thinking that this was the last time I'd see Iver.

'what's the point' I thought as I lifted the gun and prepared to join him in hell.

Suddenly I hear Ivers laugh, that empty laugh that was as good as the real thing.

'damn that hurt.' I thought as my brain fully regained bringing back my consciousness, it was i weird situation as it felt as if I had blinked and hadn't just blown my brains out.

'I think I was a baddie' was that death I've heard that D.C Death was a hot goth girl but I've never seen her as I wasn't an avid comic reader 'Well I'll try again later and see what she's like.'

Moving on I felt someone crying on my shoulder, it was Mary who seemed to be taking this as well as I'd expected.

I stayed like this for a bit enjoying Mary's reaction.

Eventually, she reached for the gun and was about to pull the trigger, so I decided to stop her.

Hearing me she stopped and looked down at me astonished, as by now the hole in my head had closed.

"How!?" she said touching my face trying to figure out what was happening.

"I've recently become immortal." I said while getting up and preparing to test my other abilities.

Mary stood there glaring at me with a cold look "Why?"

hearing this I turn to her and go in for a hug while patting her head "I wanted to test my ability, and I found your reaction pleasant." I said.

After a few minutes of sobbing and convincing her I wouldn't do it again she finally calmed down.

Moving on I ask "Mary I need you to help me train" as I need to improve myself to speed up the speed of the template and to get used to my abilities.

"Sure." She readily agreed.

Soon we moved to stand opposite each other, as I asked if she could teach combat first.

Mary was though confused as she said cheekily "Shouldn't I at least teach you how to punch or do you think yourself a talent in combat now too?" Through the years she has seen that I possess a talent for multiple fields be it academics, business management, or chess i was a prodigy.

I smirked at her and got into a boxing stance.

As this was happening I used my [all sight] to watch Muhammad Ali's life on my main timeline and used taskmaster's photographic reflexes to copy all his skills and experience using those moves.

All this happened in less than a second and after that, I rushed Mary.

My goal with this training is to test the photographic reflexes while using [all sight] to download the training and years of learning of physical skills, so I wouldn't use anything else.

Mary now knew I could regenerate so she launched at me, probably to pay me back for the suicide joke, and went straight for the face, something she would never normally consider, as that, as once said, would be akin to ridding the world of the Lord's blessing.

Seeing her fist incoming I slightly lean back outside her reach causing her to miss. Taking this chance as she didn't expect to miss I slip inside and aim for her jaw.

Reacting quickly she flips backward avoiding the hook and attacking my face which leads to me stepping back to avoid it.

"I guess I'm good at this too" I said smirking at her.

"I guess you are" she said smiling sweetly with a euphoric expression while removing some of her clothes that restricted her movement and taking her Glocks out.

"Oh getting serious now are w..." I teased to which she responded by blowing my brains out.

"What was that I didn't quite catch it" She then giggled a bit as she watched me reform my head.

"you do know that I still feel pain right" I complained breathing heavily, but I wasn't tired at all and my hands were trembling slightly which I chalked up to the pain.

"I'd hope so, you need to understand that, at least a tenth of what I felt when I thought you died" she said turning serious.

"I thought we moved on from this topic already." I said, rushing after getting parkour from a bunch of street pros, and began moving around erratically to avoid as many bullets as possible

"We did but it still hurt, thinking you died." she said the pain still in her voice as she opened fire on me.

"And I apologized." I said pushing through the pain as I really suck at dodging bullets but I still tried.

"you did but even so you don't understand how painful that was for me."

I stopped to look at her. "You know I can't."

"I know, but I still have hope that one day you'll understand" She had a bittersweet smile as she thought of my disability.

'as what else would you call something that most ordinary people have other than a crippled, as for me I'm emotionally crippled' I thought thinking nothing of it.

Back to the fight I got close and threw a jab to her face, to which she waived to the outside and then shot me in the head, quickly distancing herself, causing me to stop for a few seconds before I rushed at her and she opened fire.

This time, I decided to use my [eyes] to see into the future and gain an advantage over her.

With the ability activated the amount of shoots I managed to dodge increased from 30% to 60%. This is because I still lack the necessary skill, and my [eyes] see multiple futures at the same time making it difficult to concentrate, and with the endless ever-changing futures predicting which is going to happen is too difficult unless I wait for the last millisecond to which they's only on path.

...

This short training session soon came to an end with my blood now fully covering the space I was using to train.

I told Mary to get one of the maids to come and clean it up, as for what they would think or say when they saw this much blood on the floor, it's not a problem as I have no plans on hiding anymore, plus I'll soon be moving.

'the training was better than expected the only problem is my [all sight], the ability is good, in a combat scenario its overall rating tanks, but when it comes to strategizing and planning it's the best of the best' I thought to my self as I check the gacha system.

'the rest of my ability can't be tested fully yet as I'd prefer to use human targets that can fight back to see their full capacity.

for the rest of this month, I'll try to increase temples as well as my skill in my other abilities as well as my ability to integrate them into my combat, then I can go to Central City where the full can begin but before that, I think it's time to speak with the monster.'

soon the maids came to clean the room they had been hearing gunshots ring out.

Upon entering they were greeted by the strong smell of rust in the air when they got close they saw me covered in blood standing in a pool of blood, but what really scared them, judging by the way they paled, was the look of indifference I cast at them before turning around to go get this blood removed using the hose

the maid stood still for a while trembling, too scared to move until they heard Mary speak

"GET TO IT! Why are you standing around looking at the ground, it's just a simple mass clean it and be done with it, or you're fired" she said coldly, not holding back on scaring them.

Those words seem to have had their desired effect as they immediately rushed to work.

...

Eventually, they were done cleaning and swiftly left the room, giving me the space I needed to perform my first summoning.

"Mary the man you are about to meet is very important so do be on your best behavior, and show as little about your thoughts as possible" I said as Mary could sometimes get emotional in situations, and isn't well versed in finding her feelings, that's something I'd like to avoid especially in front of someone like Johan.

We may both be psycho and in some ways the same, but we are not equal. I was born this way and have always seen ways to cure my endless boredom, though that boredom leads to me finding new and exciting ways to get rid of it, but Johan, oh Johan. A man who as far as I know wasn't born a monster but became one over time due to his childhood, is motivated by his existential crisis and questions on the value of human life, and more importantly, his desire to cause chaos to find this value. A man like him would be perfect for Gotham.

Selecting him in the system a flash of light appeared in front of me until it faded forming the figure of a strikingly handsome man with platinum blond hair, and blue eyes.

(image)

after appearing he looked around first at the room, then at Mary standing next to me, until finally his eyes lingered on me.

We stood there in awkward silence studying each other, for Johan he used this time to get a grasp of the situation, and read the people next to him, one of whom he knew as his master. When summoned the characters have an ingrained loyalty to me, this loyalty bond is not absolute as they will follow any instruction I give them, but if they show a strong want to resist then the orders can be bent, and to what degree is determined by their will to resist performing the command.

While he was getting a read, I was using [all sight] to look for more info on him and see if he was the one I wanted. The one to add a new element to Gotham.

This was also a good chance to test if the ability can see other universes ' realities, and so far it seems as if they can as I see everything about Johan and timelines where things turn out differently.

This Johan is different as he died when that random drunk shot him in the head, where his soul signed a contract and brought here.

"Guten Morgen?" he said in German smiling, after observing us, to see if we could speak in a language he was comfortable with.

Hearing this I smiled and said "Good morning"

"I can assume you summoned me but I don't recall being given a reason so, if you don't mind me asking, why have you brought me here" he said in a fluent English accent.

I smiled "Would you like to hear a story"

Johan looked at me, but before he could say anything I spoke

"Once upon a time, in a land far away, there lived a nameless monster.

The monster was dying to have a name.

So the monster made up his mind and set out on a journey to look for one.

But the world was such a very large place.

The monster split in two, and went on separate journeys.

One went east.

The other headed west.

The one who went east came upon a village.

There was a blacksmith who lived at the village's entrance.

"Mr. Blacksmith, please give me your name!" said the monster.

"I can't give you my name!" replied the blacksmith.

'If you give me your name, I'll go inside you and make you strong," said the monster.

"Really?" said the blacksmith, "If you make me stronger, I'll give you my name."

The monster went into the blacksmith.

And so, the monster became Otto the blacksmith.

Otto was the strongest man in town.

But then one day he said, "Look at me! Look at me! The monster inside of me is getting bigger!"

Munch munch, chomp chomp, gobble gobble, gulp.

The hungry monster ate up Otto from the inside out.

Once again, he was a monster without a name.

Next, he went into Hans the shoemaker.

However...

Munch munch, chomp chomp, gobble gobble, gulp.

Once again, he went back to being a monster without a name.

Then, he became Thomas the Hunter.

But soon...

Munch munch, chomp chomp, gobble gobble, gulp.

Back he went to being a monster without a name.

The monster next went to a castle to look for a nice name.

He came upon a very sick boy who lived in that castle.

"If you give me your name, I'll make you strong," said the monster.

The boy replied, "If you can make me healthy and strong, I will give you my name!"

So the monster jumped right into the boy.

And the boy became full of vigor.

The king was overjoyed.

He announced, "The prince is healthy! The prince is strong!"

The monster became quite fond of the boy's name.

He was also quite pleased with his royal life in the castle.

So he controlled himself no matter how ravenous his appetite became.

Day after day, despite his growing hunger, the monster stayed put inside the boy.

But finally, the hunger just became too great...

"Look at me! Look at me!" said the boy, "The monster inside of me has gotten this big!"

The boy devoured the king and all his servants.

Munch munch, chomp chomp, gobble gobble, gulp.

The castle was lonely now with everyone gone, so the boy left on a journey.

He walked and walked for days.

And then one day, the boy came upon the monster who had gone west.

"I have a name!" said the boy, "And it's such a wonderful one at that!"

But the monster who went west replied, "Who needs a name? I'm perfectly happy without one. After all, that's what we are - nameless monsters."" I used to look at him.

Reading my intentions, Johan jumped in to speak the rest of the tale.

"The boy ate up the monster who went west.

At last he had found a name, but there was no longer anyone to call him by it.

Such a shame, because Johan was such a wonderful name." he said with an indifferent look.

"and that is why I brought you here, I need the monster's help I need you Johan for a very special task, one that you'll enjoy just as much."
