Having charted our path, the three of us left the inn. But before we crossed the threshold for good, I ruffled the hair of the embarrassingly smiling waitress we had a nice chat with.

- Have a good trip, nya! We look forward to seeing you again nya-yayah~! - Vilola mumbled a couple of tones higher, dimming her eyes and cuddling her ears nicely against her head.

'Oops, a little too much,' I smiled modestly at the cute babydoll, looking at the suddenly blushing girl that immediately ran back.

Yeah, pushed too hard on the feelings, so she ran away....

But now my companions were giving me strange looks. Back-scratching, to be exact. Of course I like cats, but I never told anyone that. And here was such a fortunate acquaintance with a certain one that I couldn't resist using my hunches on her this morning. Quite successful and spectacular.

The effect of the ability was astounding. During the time we were having breakfast I managed to gently work the waitress and found out a lot of interesting things from the rumours.

But that's for later, and now... I'd better solve these cross-eyed glances of my partners. Otherwise, I feel they'll be drilling my back with a mute question all the way, but they won't be the first to speak.

- What?' I glanced at them and stopped in the middle of the passers-by.

Some passers-by shunned us apprehensively.

- Do you like cats, sir? - Alice was the first to ask, as the most inquisitive of them all.

- A little,' I replied evasively to the curious girls, running my eyes round and round - from excitement, no other way. - And now let's go, we're late as it is....

The two girls looked at each other as if they could talk with their eyes, but they remained silent, and we continued walking towards the place where we were meeting Yuki.

I could feel in my gut that the girls behind me were really talking to each other and were up to something! But I didn't care about that.

'I hope Yuki is still there... I'd hate to lose such a shot...' - With a worried look, I glanced around the crowd of passersby. Humans, dwarves and elves all caught my attention with their looks as well as various screamers.

I glanced at the map - yes, my girl is where we agreed to meet. A map is a very handy thing.

- And yes, Alice, you remember your task, don't you?

- Warming the master's bed?

- W-what? No! I mean, wait, are you kidding me?

- No way! How could I! - Alice smiled wryly.

...

...

...

Before the Adventurer's Guild building, there was a shopping plaza where we couldn't pass through instantly without pushing the bipeds.

- The best Stamina Potions! Restore your strength and your potency!

- Weapons of masters: swords and spears to pierce your enemies!

- Artefacts and amulets! Don't miss the opportunity - save yourself from death!

- Pagadayuu on your hand! I'll recognise it and save you from death! Don't pass me by, my dear!

- The best herbs in Neverland! Come and get it.

The concentration of creatures scurrying around made me feel like I was in a fairy tale. An unusual feeling of nostalgia swept over me - I had only seen such things on my PC screen when I watched the anime about the 'hero' Oyasha and his harem.

- Foreign jewellery! The handiwork of masters! Don't miss the opportunity to please the lady of your heart!

And not only that, behind, I heard Alice, squeaked in this noise full of delight.

- Oh, look sis Ari, those earrings would look great on you!

- You think so?

- Of course! I think the lord would appreciate them on you!

I couldn't hear what they were talking about in the noise. But it took me a while to notice how my little sister and Alice had fallen behind me, and when I did, the girls were already standing next to the jewellery counter.

'Earrings... jewellery? Seriously?' - I turned around with confusion, noticing the girls exactly near that screamer where there were many different brilliants on the counter... Alice was going through different jewellery and trying them on my little sister under the gaze of a satisfied merchant praising his goods.

'Here we go...' - I realised that I wouldn't be able to turn away from spending more. Especially when sis actually liked something among the goods. All I could do was sigh, resigning myself to the inevitable. And what's to say - it was a great chance to tie to themselves girls sentimental gift, even, to please a sign of attention and a thing that they will remember for years to come? So to speak - a significant item that will be remembered with warmth in their hearts.

'They're... supposed to like all sorts of bling, aren't they?' - I wrestled with my hamster with a certain amount of doubt, until I was hit in the back at full speed, rocking me slightly. Although, you could call it like a locomotive colliding with a road sign - I was almost thrown forward into the crowd of people.

And I didn't fly away only because I was able to extinguish the inertia with my amplification! Then I turned round sharply - thief or anyone else, no one has the right to push me into the mud in front of the eyes of a huge crowd!

Reflexes kicked in - my hand twitched, grabbing the falling... Hiro?

'What?' - I was confused at such an encounter, meeting a familiar face.

And the next thing I knew, she pulled me behind her with a WONDERFUL force, and we fell together to the ground while kicking up a cloud of rising dust.

The fall was aching and sudden, but what I didn't expect was a squeal of joy above my ear, and a tight, bone-crunching hug.

I heard my armour creak under the weight of the little arms, but what was scarier was the ease with which I was almost broken!

On the edge of consciousness, I also heard someone else's sob of pain. Yes, and I was confused as well.

- Brother Arien! You're back-you're back! I missed you so much! - With great cheerfulness in her voice, Hira rubbed her cheek against her familiar. Paying no attention to anything-just her and him.

'Master! Sempai! If she continues!' - Mika ran around the table with panicked notes.

'It hurts... it hurts... narrowminded, why?' - The pain-filled quiet voice quickly disappeared.

The voices in my head were tearing my mind apart, disrupting any flow of my thoughts. And the girl's hands kept squeezing, threatening to choke me to death soon! The flood of words from her also prevented me from thinking straight.

- Fuck! Hiro padaji! Padaji! I'm dead...u... - I was getting short of air, and I didn't need it! My eyes were blurred with black spots! My arms and legs twitching, seemingly sliding helplessly on the ground!

- Oh, I'm sorry, Brother Arien! I didn't mean to!

It was over as quickly as it had begun. My grip loosened, and I was able to breathe, a puddle of pain from the realisation of impending doom.

I didn't want to get up. My strength was gone, and I just collapsed on top of Hiro, who didn't protest.

- Are you all right, little brother Arien? - The girl gently stroked her brother's hair with a sudden emotion of remorse, smelling the pleasant scent of him. It made her cheeks blush a little, and for some reason she didn't feel like getting up, though her heart beat treacherously fast at the realisation of their pose.

'He won't think badly of me, will he?' - That she was to blame for what had happened did not occur to her. Still - emotions were bubbling with a huge flood of puppy joy and nothing could stop them from spilling out onto the 'idol'.
