- Now, Ariene-sama, you'll get better!

- Brother, hang in there, just a little longer and help will come!

The two girls were taking care of the boy, more annoying with their excitement than relieving his headache, but he was still pleased with the care.

'I went out for ice cream and almost died on the way. I was fucked up and that's an even easier way of putting it. I didn't think I could get sick, but all the signs seemed to be leading up to it, otherwise I don't know why I felt so bad for the first time in my life, although there were precedents, but now it's much worse.' - Suffering from various ailments Arien regretted that he was here at all and not in the gutter or the alley. He'd come to his senses much quicker there.

His head was spinning, whimpering, beeping, feverish; his chest was tight, forcing him to breathe like a steam engine, and his body was leaden, sluggishly responding to commands. Nearby adventurers scurried about, adding fuel to the fire, atomising his aggression.

'What's wrong with me, Mika?' - Unable to stand it, Arien asked.

Some delay and he is answered by the goddess in a worried voice, but she couldn't understand anything and asked him to relax and not distract him from his analysis.

Arien agreed, fighting the temptation to heal himself, but in a circle of adventurers he somehow didn't want to draw attention to himself. He had to suffer through the fever and dizziness, and some of the curious people made it worse by throwing various looks of contempt.

'How annoying everything is to me,' Arien frowned, feeling all the negative emotions directed at him. Not that it was unpleasant - he didn't care, but his already ruined mood wasn't adding any colour to his life.

He hadn't even sat for a couple of minutes when Alice came running from the side of the counter with a vial in her hands.

- This should help, drink it, lord! - With a frown, she offered it uncertainly. Afraid lest the man poison her lord.

'Assessment,' Arien cast a glance at the vial.

A small potion of stamina

Strength - 99%

Quality - good

Material: fruit, herbs

Value - ordinary.

Restores stamina a little.

Nodding in agreement, better than just sitting there, Alice brought the vial to Arien's lips. The taste was... pleasant, something like apple tincture, and a small part of the fatigue was gone, but it wasn't enough. The boy didn't even feel anything - no warmth at all, apart from the two girls at his sides, but they could hardly help it, except to soothe him a little with their care and childlike affection.

Alice, not noticing any effect, was about to run again, as the guy stopped her, grabbing her arm.

- Outside...' the boy wheezed out. 'We need to get out of the guild and into the alley!'

- Hai! Girls, stay out of the way!

- W-we'll help!

- Yeah!

Gathering together, he was helped to stand up, throwing his arm around Alice's shoulder, the girls didn't stand still either and helped as much as they could, again drawing unnecessary attention to themselves.

But the boy as well as the girls didn't care - they ignored any slanted glances and headed for the exit. Their silhouettes were noticed by one of the receptionists, who looked sympathetically at them as they left, and then returned to her work, regretting that she couldn't help them.

Arien was absorbed in himself, or rather in his own thoughts. It wasn't hard to notice the sudden change in his state, and he banged his head against the wall of reason, trying to figure out why he felt so bad. However, nothing substantial came to mind, but he was still feeling a strange sense of relief, as if the cloudiness in front of his eyes... had disappeared, and he was thinking for the first time about his real goals in life?

'Were there any? Now that I think about the question, I won't say so right away. I wanted to find female partners... so I still do, but not quite so sharply, forgetting everything else. After all, if you think about it, I haven't improved myself during this period of time in almost any way... What did it cost me in passive mode to pump abilities? The core of a familiar? So... I've already filled it up, and it's waiting for a chance to prove itself. And Miku's own abilities?'

Arien smirked at his carelessness, 'We have to solve this problem somehow, it's not a matter of running off in a hurry. We need a plan, a schedule for pumping and training! Urgently and now, and along the way, while looking for girls, realise my training to the fullest!' - Having made the arguments of reason, the guy agreed with himself, turning to the one who could help him with this.

'Mika, make a list of your abilities right away, we'll think about how to train you in your spare time. In general, how do you get stronger? How many souls or faith do you need?'

'Ah, master? W-you... you've finally thought about me? Good! Now! I've had it for a long time, and I've only been waiting for this moment!' - Mika cheered zealously, a little surprised at such questions from her male.

Not expecting such a quick response, Arien had no time to say anything before a layer of information burst into his head: a sort of pink diary, with notes, questions, and um... complaints about his male? Oh, and a small list of Miku's own capabilities. Quite modest in the guy's opinion, but you'd have to work and work to say anything.

Next, on the guy's tip, the girls escorted him outside of the city, and also noticing his sister missing, he mentally ordered her to return. Only once outside the city walls, so that no one could see him, did the guy use dark healing on himself.

- Haaaaah... how good... - his strength was returning to him, gradually nullifying the malaise. If he hadn't been held by the excited girls, he would have immediately fallen to the ground in relief, but they were still a bit startled by the sudden change in behaviour.

- Brother Arien!

- Master!

- Lord!

Hugging and drowning the boy in their bodies, the girls failed to keep their balance and threw the confused boy to the ground.

- Hiro blushed at the tips of her ears, looking at her hands; Alice blushed slightly, but smiled cheekily; and Yuki, as the newest in their group, didn't know where to put herself and stepped over her feet.

Arien only shook his head at their grimaces and dusted himself off, noticing how his armour from the recent hugs looked as good as new.

- So girls, I feel much better... let's wait for my sister... and then I'll think of something else... - the guy said uncertainly, thinking about further plans. In general - first we need to make a list, think of a little training and think how best to pump up the level.

- Are you sure everything is all right, master? - Alice couldn't refrain from asking and the girls nodded their heads in agreement.

- Yes... I'm better now, just a little headache. - The guy brushed it off.

The excited girls couldn't just agree and for a minute they took care of the guy, until Arine came back, immediately throwing herself on the guy's neck, crying, trying to hug him as tightly as possible.

- Fool...' her little sister sniffled, not holding back her tears for the first time, much to the guy's surprise at this reaction. It was the first time Arine was shedding tears with her temper and calmness.

- It's all right, nothing happened to me,' she started stroking her sister's head.

Giving in to the atmosphere, the other girls also sniffled and cried, squeezing the guy from all sides and he had to become a waistcoat for the girls' tears. After waiting and caressing each one, he finally managed to calm the girls down, after which he ordered them to follow him in an impatient tone, wondering from Yuki where Astoria was.

- She asked me to tell you that she is sorry, and cannot fulfil her duty. She had some urgent business to attend to, so she and her friends have to leave the city as a matter of urgency. Mmmm... Astoria-sama also said... like, if you're near Mausten town, ask people about the Pendragon ancestral mansion, then she'll thank you....

From Yuki's further words, it appeared that Astoria and her group had left the city in the early morning, giving the girl a message. Arien, of course, was not surprised, but upset. It was not proper for him, a dullahan, to 'chase girls', but if by any chance he was around, he would definitely come to stay at the mansion and collect the girls' fees!

- Thank you, Yuki,' Arien thanked the happy girl, stroking her head. It will be a bit of a shame to leave her here, but the occasion and necessity demanded it.

They reached the farm quite quickly and the boy, anticipating another storm of tears, prepared himself for another parting.

'Hmmm... and I didn't think about where the newcomers would be checking in. Problem...I'll have to check with Ali about where to rent a cabin around here...or something like that.'
