Chapter 12: Chapter 12: Recognition
The three combatants launched themselves at each other simultaneously, but Melisfir didn't target Iron Will. Instead, she turned her attention toward No Limits with an unexpected maneuver.
"Ah, I knew it," No Limits thought to himself, his muscles tensing at the imminent ambush.
With no other option, he halted abruptly, pivoting on one foot to deliver a backward kick while raising his guard. The impact from Iron Will's charge was inevitable, but his speed gave him just enough time to adjust his position.
Melisfir, as agile as lightning, darted to the side, evading both of them. Yet she didn't launch a direct attack. Instead, she lowered her guard, observing the perfect moment. Just as Iron Will swung her massive arm at No Limits, Melisfir reacted.
"Now!" she murmured to herself.
Using Sleepy, her inseparable dagger, Melisfir made a swift, clean slash at the joint of Iron Will's left knee, where the armor revealed a small opening.
Slash!
"Damn it!" Iron Will roared as she staggered from the pain. The sound of metal tearing accompanied the sight of sparking cables exposed beneath the damaged plating.
Melisfir didn't stop to admire her work. She kept moving, leaving the chaos behind as she sprinted toward the building's exit.
Iron Will growled furiously, raising her gaze toward Melisfir, but before she could do anything, No Limits barely stepped back from the initial impact.
"Is that all you've got?" No Limits taunted with a smirk as he stood firm, his figure unwavering.
Enraged, Iron Will channeled all her strength into her left fist, putting her entire weight into the swing. But No Limits, moving with a speed that sliced through the air, dodged to the side. In the same motion, he twisted his body mid-air and struck Iron Will's elbow joint with surgical precision, shattering the armor and sending shards of metal flying like shrapnel.
"You're fast, but not fast enough!" Iron Will bellowed, swinging her remaining arm in an attempt to catch him.
No Limits hardened his expression, retreating with agility before counterattacking. Charging both fists with In, he delivered a direct blow to Iron Will's torso. The impact boomed like thunder, lifting her slightly off the ground.
Though Iron Will appeared intact, No Limits didn't give her a chance to recover. A flurry of energy-charged punches followed, each one striking with devastating speed and accuracy.
"Come on, Iron Will! Is this all you can take?" No Limits goaded, his voice dripping with mockery as the final punch sent her higher into the air, completely off balance.
With a thunderous crash, Iron Will fell heavily to the ground, the impact reverberating through the entire building.
Before she could recover, No Limits seized the opportunity. Moving quickly, he snatched two batteries from her belt.
"Thanks for the contribution," he quipped with a smirk before disappearing from the building in pursuit of Melisfir.
Iron Will, still dazed, remained motionless for a moment before rising with a deafening roar.
"You won't escape!" she shouted, beginning her pursuit.

Outside, among the combatants...
Xandra, with her rapier raised, was about to deliver a finishing blow to a staggering Daeron. Her silver mask, intricately adorned with a finely detailed cross, reflected the twilight glow as her eyes remained fixed on her opponent.
However, a flicker in her peripheral vision alerted her to a presence behind her. Unable to stop herself, she drove the rapier into Daeron's side, ensuring his disqualification.
Before she could evade, Melisfir appeared like a shadow, slipping past with remarkable agility.
"Excuse me," Melisfir said with a mocking grin as she snatched the batteries from Xandra and the one Daeron had just dropped.
In the blink of an eye, Melisfir vanished into a nearby building.
"There's no honor in that, Melisfir," Xandra muttered, her tone cold but laced with frustration.
Pulling her rapier from Daeron's side, Xandra turned and began chasing after Melisfir.

In another section of the arena...
Having used the batteries she had just collected, Melisfir moved like a gust of wind, dodging debris and taking sharp turns at every intersection.
"Lucky for me, my heroine Iron Will showed up to save me," she thought with a smirk.
If she had exchanged even a few more blows with the relentless No Limits, her In reserves would have been completely drained. The sheer amount of energy that guy could accumulate was overwhelming.
She turned another corner, following a trail of destruction. She was looking for someone.
With a quick slide, she slipped through a broken window, emerging into an open space.
It was a ruined plaza, its cracked floor and fractured walls bearing scars of relentless combat. At its center, sitting unconscious with limp limbs and water from a shattered fountain dripping over his suit, was Inferno Edge.
Across from him, breathing heavily, stood Zephirin. His black suit, adorned with chains that seemed to move on their own, glimmered under the light. His face remained hidden behind a metallic skull mask, streaked with a mix of blood and sweat.
Melisfir smiled beneath her mask, adjusting her military cap with a single finger.
"Well, well," she whispered. "Look who the idiot with the scythe managed to take down."
Zephirin raised his scythe upon noticing her. Its curved blade gleamed with a dark shine under the stadium lights. However, the mask hiding his face did little to conceal the despair in his eyes.
Melisfir approached nonchalantly, her steps slow and deliberate, stopping at a cautious distance.
"Hello? Miss me?" Melisfir teased, her smile practically audible through her mask.
Zephirin let out a deep sigh, exasperated by this woman's peculiar habit of hunting him down and ambushing him whenever possible.
His grip on the scythe loosened briefly before tightening again. "No, not at all. Please, leave me alone," he muttered, waving a hand dismissively as if trying to shoo away an annoying insect.
"Really? That hurts, Zephy. Here I am, organizing a party just for you…" Melisfir clutched her chest in mock offense before letting out a soft laugh. "Oh, sorry, forgot to mention: I invited some friends. The hostess can't leave just yet!"
Zephirin's lips tightened as his gaze sharpened.
Behind Melisfir, the atmosphere shifted as Xandra entered the plaza. Her slender frame and rigid posture radiated professionalism. Her fiery red hair, tied back into a tight ponytail, left no strand out of place. She carried her razor-sharp rapier, its blade gleaming like a mirror. Her eyes scanned the area with the precision of a predator assessing its prey.
To the left, Shadow Gale emerged from the shadows, disdainfully tossing an injured combatant to the ground. His black mask, a terrifying amalgamation of sharp edges and vents, amplified his intimidating presence. His belt carried five batteries, the maximum allowed, each one emitting a faint blue glow.
On the opposite side, No Limits appeared swiftly, his fitted white suit emphasizing his athletic frame. His eyes locked onto Melisfir, his gaze filled with a mix of distrust and determination.
Melisfir, oblivious to the rising tension, spread her arms dramatically and said, "Tada!"
Zephirin solemnly glanced toward the sky. Melisfir could have sworn she saw a tear slide beneath his mask, but she dismissed the thought.
A charged silence hung over the plaza. Everyone knew that the battle was about to erupt.
Xandra moved first, charging toward Shadow Gale with her rapier poised for a glorious confrontation. He remained still for a moment, analyzing her movements before launching a volley of black knives with deadly precision.
Meanwhile, Melisfir advanced toward Zephirin, completely ignoring No Limits, who trailed closely behind her.
Suddenly, a deafening crash echoed through the stadium. A wall crumbled as Iron Will entered the scene, her imposing figure clad in thick armor etched with visible scars. Her right arm, glowing with a fiery red hue, radiated an intensity that made the air tremble.
No Limits paused for a moment, assessing whether to continue chasing Melisfir or confront this new threat. His intuition warned him: this woman was extremely dangerous.
Iron Will gave him no time to decide, charging her right arm with a flash of red energy before launching a massive In-infused punch straight at him.
No Limits attempted to dodge to the side, but a massive arrow cut off his escape route.
Bang!
The arrow embedded itself in the ground beside him, exploding into shards. From a distance, Therion controlled the battlefield, perched atop a structure with his colossal bow resting on his hands.
"Damn it, this is new," No Limits muttered, raising his guard as the massive punch closed in.
Boom!
The impact was thunderous, sending him hurtling toward the plaza's center as his armor cracked under the force.
Seizing the opportunity to eliminate such a formidable competitor, Zephirin hurled his scythe toward No Limits' back as he flew in a straight line toward his direction.
Swoosh!
The blade sliced through the air with deadly precision.
From a distance, but slightly off to the side, Melisfir fired three energy projectiles in rapid succession, all aimed at the same target.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The stadium fell into a stunned silence, the entire crowd on their feet, watching in shock as No Limits, the Dominion's strongest competitor, was caught in a deadly crossfire.
No Limits' gaze turned ice-cold, his body twisting mid-air with precise, calculated movements. His right gauntlet, palm open, glowed with a deep blue In that seemed to flow across its surface like a living current. The bullets came at him at blistering speed, but he caught them with surprising grace, producing dry, metallic thuds as they impacted. The final bullet struck his multicolored visor, shattering it into a web of iridescent cracks. Without hesitation, No Limits channeled In toward his back, maintaining the energy flow while his body continued its spring-like rotation in mid-air.
Crack! Slash!
Zephirin's scythe tore through armor and flesh with brutal force. Blood erupted in a violent arc from No Limits' shoulder as the blade ripped through his suit. Yet, the scythe failed to embed itself and instead spun chaotically into the air.
Even with searing pain radiating through his body, No Limits refused to falter. His body kept twisting, every fiber of his being driven by an indomitable force.
Swoosh!
An arrow, fired from an unseen source, whistled through the air with lethal precision. It struck No Limits' side and detonated on impact, sending him spinning wildly through the air. At the last moment, he crossed his arms over his body to shield himself from the worst of the blast. He spiraled violently before plummeting with terrifying accuracy straight toward Melisfir.
Melisfir, a flicker of memory flashing through her mind, briefly recalled a smiling face that seemed to shine even in the darkest moments. The thought grounded her, anchoring her resolve as firmly as the earth beneath her feet. She planted her stance with unyielding determination, her boots sinking into the ground as she raised her left arm. The palm of her gauntlet radiated a shifting, kaleidoscopic glow, emanating In with dazzling intensity.
Whoosh!
Adjusting his posture mid-fall, No Limits surged through the air like a meteor. His right arm stretched to its limit, his fist glowing with an aura of deep blue In that crackled and hissed with raw energy.
KRAK-THOOM!
The impact was catastrophic. The ground behind Melisfir splintered and shattered, erupting into a storm of debris and dust. Yet, she remained immovable, every muscle in her body resisting the crushing force. In her right hand, Sleepy glowed with vibrant energy, its blade reflecting the colors of the rainbow.
Swish! Bam!
The clash between Melisfir's dagger and No Limits' left fist produced an eruption of sparks, illuminating the space between them with electric bursts. The air around them grew thick with tension as they struggled for dominance, their movements charged with precision and raw strength.
No Limits landed firmly, his feet sinking into the fractured earth, his eyes blazing behind his cracked visor. Melisfir responded by closing her left hand around No Limits' right fist, trapping it in an unyielding grip. Simultaneously, No Limits extended his left hand, grabbing the blade of Sleepy and pulling it toward him with overwhelming pressure.
Both combatants took a step forward, their bodies radiating an unshakable determination as the In coursing through their visors surged to an explosive climax.
BOOM!
Their heads, protected by their visors, collided with seismic force. The impact unleashed bursts of wind and energy, creating a tempest of In that swept through the area in an instant. The battlefield fell silent, broken only by the faint crackling of residual sparks and the echo of their collision.
No Limits and Melisfir locked eyes through their fractured visors, their faint smiles barely visible but filled with mutual recognition. An eternal moment passed between them before their bodies, finally succumbing to exhaustion, collapsed to the ground.
