Rebirth As The Asura Prince

Chapter 8: Chapter No.8 Black Dragon's Prowess

[Meghnad's POV]

Upon reaching the grand doors of the royal study, Mother paused briefly before pushing them open, revealing the room's opulent interior. Father was seated behind a large, ornate desk, his expression a blend of happiness and slight doubt.

But he was not alone in there, Two men were also standing not far from the desk. One was dressed in the attire of a simple scholar, While the other wore a never-seen-before tunic, just a tunic covering his body, which was muscular and adorned with intricate tattoos. He looked like a foreigner, But I looked at him with shock because I recognized the clothing style from my past life.

Greece.

I was of course from India, But I read many myths and Greek myth was one of them. But I didn't know that in this world other myths are also involved, such as Greek.

"So, You mean to say that you know about the creature in this portrait," Father said as he looked toward the man wearing a tunic adorned with intricate tattoos, who was standing nearby, clearly a visitor of interest to King Ravana.

"Yes, King Ravana," the man replied in a deep, resonant voice with a hint of accent. "I know about this creature, It is the most fearsome and majestic that ever roamed— Dragon.

King Ravana and the foreign visitor discussed a fearsome creature known as a dragon, a majestic beast that roamed ancient lands. Meghnad stood quietly beside his father, listening intently as the conversation unfolded in the royal study. His curiosity piqued, he glanced at Mother Mandodari, who watched the exchange with a mixture of interest and concern.

Father's expression was serious, his brow furrowed in thought as he considered the visitor's words. "You claim to have knowledge of this creature, from lands far beyond our own," Father remarked, his voice measured yet intrigued by the prospect.

The foreign visitor nodded solemnly, his gaze steady as he met Father's eyes. "Indeed, King Ravana. The dragon is a creature of legend, revered for its power and feared for its wrath," he explained, his voice carrying the weight of ancient knowledge. "In lands distant from Lanka, tales of dragons have been passed down through generations, embodying both terror and wonder."

"Even gods fear them as their power rivals that of celestial beings. They are the apex predators of the mythical world, embodying the raw forces of nature and magic," the visitor continued, his words resonating with a mixture of reverence and caution.

"Even gods?! Is that even possible?! For a beast that is merely a shadow of legends from all the world, King Ravana said as he looked towards the man wearing a tunic adorned with intricate tattoos, standing beside his throne in the royal study, as the conversation about the fearsome and mythical creature known as a dragon, which the majestic and to the had been.

"Well not all dragons, but among dragons were are five kings and one god of dragons," the visitor explained solemnly, his voice carrying the weight of ancient knowledge. "They are namely Tiamat, Yu-Long, Ladon, Midgardsormr, and Fafnir. As for the dragon god, no one knows its name but it is said that all the dragon kings serve the dragon god in reverence. Legends speak of their dominion over elements and realms beyond mortal comprehension."

"Anything about the black dragon?"

The visitor's demeanor shifted subtly, a shadow passing over his features at the mention of the black dragon. His eyes darkened with a mix of respect and caution as he considered Father's question.

"There was only one black dragon among its kind, It was even among the Dragon kings which were six including at black dragon it is said that even dragon god feared the black dragon's power and wisdom," the visitor continued, his voice filled with reverence and caution. "Legends say it wielded darkness and shadow like no other, its presence striking fear into the hearts of gods and mortals alike."

Father's brow furrowed deeper, absorbing the weight of the visitor's words. "Feared by the dragon god itself?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper, betraying both curiosity and apprehension.

The visitor nodded solemnly, his gaze distant as if recalling ancient tales. "Indeed, King Ravana. The black dragon was said to possess a darkness that transcended even the celestial realm, its influence reaching across dimensions," he explained. "It guarded secrets of the cosmos and wielded a power that challenged the very balance of existence."

Meghnad listened intently, his mind racing with images of a dragon whose presence echoed through the annals of myth and legend. Beside him, Mother Mandodari's expression mirrored a blend of awe and concern, her eyes fixed on the visitor as if searching for reassurance in his words.

"Where is the black dragon now?" Father inquired, his voice steady despite the weight of the revelation.

The visitor's gaze turned inward, his features shadowed by solemn contemplation. "The whereabouts of the black dragon have been lost to time," he admitted quietly. "Some believe it vanished into the depths of oblivion, its legacy woven into the fabric of ancient lore and prophecy."

Father looked towards me, his gaze focused on the cloth that concealed the birthmark on my back. His expression softened, a flicker of concern mingling with paternal pride as he regarded me, his heir and son.

But quickly looked toward the visitor and said, "Your knowledge of dragons and their lore is invaluable to us. We are grateful for your insights into these ancient beings." Father's tone conveyed both respect for the visitor's knowledge and a keen interest in understanding more about the world beyond Lanka's borders.

The visitor inclined his head respectfully. "It is an honor to share what little I know, King Ravana," he replied, his voice steady yet infused with a sense of humility. "Dragons have shaped the histories of many lands, each with their own tales of triumph and tragedy."

Father nodded thoughtfully, his mind undoubtedly considering the implications of these legendary creatures on Lanka's future. "Guards escort our guest to the best inns in the town and give him a bag of gold coins as a token of our appreciation for his knowledge and guidance," Father instructed, his voice resonant with authority. The guards, standing by attentively, bowed in acknowledgment and moved forward to fulfill his command.

The visitor, humbled by the gesture, bowed deeply in gratitude. "Your generosity knows no bounds, King Ravana. I shall accept your hospitality with thanks," he said, his voice tinged with respect.

As the guards escorted the visitor out of the royal study, I and Mother remained beside Father who was contemplating the profound revelations about dragons and their impact on the world.

"Mandodari... The birthmark..." Father said looking toward me with a glance that expressed both concern and a hint of solemnity. His voice softened as he continued, "The black dragon on his back is a mark of destiny, a symbol of ancient powers that transcend mortal understanding."

Mother Mandodari nodded slowly, her expression reflecting a mixture of pride and worry. "Meghnad carries a burden of great significance," she murmured softly, her gaze gentle yet filled with maternal concern. "His path is intertwined with forces that shape the very fabric of our world."

I knew about the black dragons from my past life and how I got the bloodline of the black dragon from Lord Shiva at the time of my reincarnation.

But I didn't know that Black dragons were so powerful and revered across realms. The weight of their legacy and the mark it left on my destiny was both daunting and exhilarating. As I stood in the presence of my parents, absorbing the gravity of their words, I felt a surge of determination to understand more about the black dragon and its profound influence on my life.

I watched as both father and mother continued to discuss the implications of the black dragon's legacy on my destiny and the fate of Lanka. Their voices carried a mix of concern, pride, and a deep sense of responsibility towards me, their heir. Father's brows furrowed as he contemplated the ancient lore surrounding dragons, while Mother Mandodari's eyes held a blend of maternal warmth and worry.

"It is said that the black dragon's influence extends beyond mortal realms," Father mused, his voice thoughtful. "Its power to wield darkness and shadow like no other—such capabilities are both awe-inspiring and unsettling."

"No one should know that our son possesses such a powerful lineage," Mother Mandodari added softly, her voice tinged with concern. "The secrets of the black dragon must remain guarded, lest they attract unwanted attention."

Father nodded in agreement, his expression grave. "Meghnad's birthmark is a testament to his heritage, but it also marks him as a target," he acknowledged, his tone laced with a mix of caution and determination. "We must tread carefully, for the knowledge we possess could tip the balance of power in unforeseen ways."

"But if anyone dares to lay a finger on our son, Then not even the gods themselves shall be able to save them," Father declared with a firmness that resonated through the chamber.

Mother placed a reassuring hand on Father's arm, her touch grounding amidst the weight of their conversation. "We will protect Meghnad with all our might," she affirmed softly, her gaze steady and unwavering.
