Rebirth: Love in the Apocalypse

Chapter 21: Collecting Supplies 3

Before sunrise, Mo Chenxuan and Qin Wu cleaned up and had breakfast.

Right after sunrise, they left the office building and went to the next building.

In less than an hour, they cleared three office buildings and rescued twenty survivors.

However, they didn't take the supplies in the office buildings or linger to chat with the survivors.

Instead, they went to the warehouse's front entrance.

At a glance, hundreds of zombies were waiting at the entrance, continuously grunting and hitting the door.

"Three hundred and four zombies." Qin Wu counted and turned to Mo Chenxuan.

"Brother Chenxuan, how many zombies and survivors are in the warehouse?"

"Eighty survivors and almost two thousand zombies."

"Just eighty?" Qin Wu couldn't help but be surprised.

"It's likely that some survivors already escaped."

"You are right." Qin Wu nodded.

After that, the two didn't waste time.

They killed the zombies around the entrance and quickly entered the warehouse.

The warehouse had a floor area of about fifteen thousand square metres.

Looking around, thousands of blue and yellow plastic bins were placed all over the floor.

Seeing this, Qin Wu couldn't help but be surprised.

"Where are the supplies?" She asked.

"Everything is in the yellow and blue containers." Mo Chenxuan said and began explaining.

"After goods are brought to this warehouse, they are coded and stored in the bins. When an order arrives, employees and robots retrieve the goods according to their code."

"I didn't know that." Qin Wu said while unleashing a space slash to kill an approaching zombie.

"Because everything is in these bins, it's difficult to know what is what. We won't know what we got until after we remove the goods from the bins." Qin Wu said and subconsciously groaned.

When she thought of the work required to remove the supplies from the bins, she couldn't help but shudder in trepidation.

'It's going to be a lot of work. ' She thought.

"There is no rush." Mo Chenxuan said while rubbing his woman's hair.

"We have enough supplies so we can take our time to properly arrange what we get here."

"Good."

After that, the two didn't talk.

Instead, they quickly killed the zombies on the first floor before heading to the second floor.

Floor after floor.

Hour after hour.

Before they knew it, it was already ten in the morning when they finally cleared the seventh floor.

"It's a good thing we came here before the black rain." Qin Wu tiredly muttered.

"If we waited until after the zombies evolved, we would need at least one month to clear the warehouse." Mo Chenxuan agreed.

"Mmh." Qin Wu nodded while taking a big mouthful of space water.

"I didn't expect to be done so early." She said.

"After we rest, we will collect the supplies here and then go to a few more places before heading home."

"What places?"

"T-shop's sortation centre is nearby. We can collect more supplies from there and then head to LC construction."

"LC..." Qin Wu started but stopped mid-sentence, her eyes widening in enlightenment.

"Brother Chenxuan, you are a genius." She exclaimed and promptly hugged the person.

Hearing this, Mo Chenxuan chuckled and wound his arms around Qin Wu.

"I didn't think of it until last night."

"At least you thought of it." Qin Wu said.

LC Construction was the world's largest manufacturer of prefabricated structures.

If they were lucky, they would not only get prefab villas to put in their spaces but also houses for other uses.

"Wu'er, I plan to carve a place for us in the city B base. Once we have a territory, we can use prefab homes to house our people."

"Won't it be too conspicuous?" Qin Wu couldn't help but worry.

"Don't worry. We will handle the matter well when the time comes."

"Okay. I believe you."

At the same time, Qin Wu couldn't help but look forward to the future Mo Chenxuan described.

'I will work hard to achieve the future you want to see.' She thought, and her eyes subconsciously softened.

An hour later, Qin Wu looked at Mo Chenxuan and raised her right eyebrow.

"Half the people have left." Mo Chenxuan answered the unasked question.

"What about the remaining half?"

"They have already collected supplies and are waiting in their cars. They probably want to follow us."

"What should we do?" Qin Wu couldn't help but frown.

When they rescued the survivors, they specifically told them not to expect further help from them.

Unexpectedly, several people did not give up.

"Don't worry about them. First, let's collect the supplies and the remaining cars in the parking lots. After that, we will head to the sortation centre."

"We can't stop those survivors from following us, but we won't go out of our way to protect them."

"Okay." Qin Wu nodded.

After that, Mo Chenxuan collected everything from the seventh to the first floor.

Additionally, they collected everything from the loading and unloading bays before driving a trailer away from the warehouse.

"I hope no one will connect us to the missing supplies." Qin Wu said.

"We are driving a trailer so the other survivors won't suspect we have a space. Also, we will leave city T in a few days. It won't affect us even if we are suspected."

"You are right, but..."

"But?"

"How will we collect the cars when these people are following us?" Qin Wu couldn't help but feel annoyed.

"I have an idea. It's why I asked you to drive." Mo Chenxuan smiled.

Soon after, a convoy of twenty lorries and trailers left the T-Shop fulfilment centre.

While doing so, Qin Wu drove close to the parking lots to ensure the other survivors saw the thousands of cars left behind.

This way, the survivors would be even less likely to suspect them when the massive disappearance of supplies was later discovered.

While driving past the parking lots, Mo Chenxuan hid himself with Spiritual power and jumped out of the trailer window.

After that, he entered the parking lots and collected all the personal cars and goods transport vehicles before rushing to rendezvous with Qin Wu.
