Rebirth: The Heiress Plans Her Revenge

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: D-Day

Xin Yan rushed into her office, her heart beating in palpable fear. She was the one who had listened to what he had to say.

She was enjoying the show of Yuan Renshu being roasted by Li Qiang. She just didn't expect the trajectory of the conversation to change.

Li Qiang had confessed to liking her. It came as an huge surprise to her and not only did he like her, he had carried a torch for her for a very long time.

'Is this the reason he ruled out the idea of a divorce?' Xin Yan could not help but lean towards a bold thought.

'Xin Yan, I suggest you keep crazy thoughts away from your mind, it's too toxic,' she thought to herself.

'Besides, he might not have meant those words of his, he could be doing it just to annoy him,' Xi Yan didn't want to delude herself into thinking he really liked her.

'But what if he really did? What if he really loved you Xin Yan?' A part of her asked her once more.

She fell into deep thought immediately. If he really loved her, she didn't know how she was going to react.

'Forget it Xin Yan, we are just going to go with the flow,' she thought to herself as she busied with some documents in a bid to forget about what she had heard.

Meanwhile, Li Qiang was in a good mood. He clicked his tongue as he watched Yuan Renshu leave in anger.

'Little bunny's taste is definitely bad but thankfully, I am here,' he thought to himself as he looked at the direction Yuan Renshu walked in deep thoughts.

He kept getting bad vibes just by being with him. He then decided he was going to have him investigated.

He could not shake off the feeling that he was hiding something, there was just something odd about him.

Li Qiang has always been perceptive and he would not feel relieved if he wasn't investigated.

He was working for little bunny and the only thing Li Qiang wanted was for Xin Yan to be safe. He was going to speak with his assistant later.

When Li Qiang entered into her office, he found her on the phone, He didn't say anything as he quietly took a seat in front of her.

Xin Yan panicked but she was able to hide it. She didn't want him to know that his presence affected her in ways she could not fathom.

"That was my grandparents, they just had the poison flushed out of their systems and they are on their way home," Xin Yan reported after she had got off from the phone.

Li Qiang nodded, peering at the lady who looked quiet. She was too quiet for his liking.

He was used to her loud and boisterous personality while she was around him. That was her true self and he didn't want her to change.

"What is wrong?" He could not hold back as he asked the question.

He had a frown on his face but it wasn't enough to hide the worry he had. His frown was definitely attributed to his worry.

"I'm fine, I was just thinking of his ways to say thank you for letting your bodyguards accompany my grandparents."

They were both aware it was a lie but they shared a tacit understanding, they weren't going to talk about it.

Li Qiang's eyes suddenly shone in delight. Xin Yan could not help but feel goosebumps.

She could not shake off the feeling that she was about to walk into a trap or was she overreacting?

"If you really want to thank me, then why don't you treat me to dinner?" Li Qiang asked, his eyes were not able to hide the mischief which was an innate character of his.

Xin Yan was speechless. She knew that he had set up a trap for her, yet, she still fell into it.

How dumb could she be? She could not extricate herself from it. It was better she treated him to a meal.

While the two Presidents were getting along in their own way, the same could not be said for the assistants.

"No, we can't have a church wedding, their grandparents would never agree," Chen Wenling held her forehead in annoyance.

The task of planning the wedding had fallen onto these two and though they were unwilling to work together, they had no other choice.

Right now, they were arguing about the theme of the wedding. Gao Yang had chosen a Church wedding while Chen Wenling had gone for a Chinese traditional wedding.

The matter would have definitely been settled if they met with their respective Presidents.

But that was out of the option. Those three, which were the grandparents were clearly alike in a way. For them, anything goes. They didn't care about the process, only results.

"Why don't we ask them of their opinion, it's their grandchildren's marriage," Gao Yang suggested.

Chen Wenling nodded in agreement. It was tiring bickering with him frequently. It felt as though she was losing brain cells while she argued with him.

They agreed as they called the respective grandparents. After exchanging some pleasantries, they directly stated the reason for their call.

They both hung up at almost the same time. It was safe to say they were both in sync.

"Why didn't we think of this?" They yelled at the same time and paused, clearly taken aback.

'They suggested we have both weddings,' once again, they said the both sentence.

Gao Yang chuckled dryly, "the grandparents are clearly smarter than we are.'

"Yeah, you are right," she nodded awkwardly in agreement to what he had said.

'Well then, let's get to work, we have lots of things to do," Gao Yang was the first to recover from the awkwardness.

"I feel we should involve Grandma Xin, Grandpa Xin and Grandpa Li, it will make our work easier, what do you think?" Chen Wenling suggested.

Gao Yang had a deep look on his face.

"We would have to ask of their permission first, but I feel they will accept," Gao Yang replied.

In a blink of an eye, it was the day of the wedding. The past few days were hectic, not only for Xin Yan but also Li Qiang.

The past few days, they had taken so many couple photos, they had also obtained their marriage certificate, so they were married already. The wedding was just a formality.

The past few days, Jiang Lanfen stayed at home. She and Yuan Renshu had already obtained their marriage certificate but compared to what Xin Yan was doing for her wedding, she felt that the piece of paper was just trash.

She was tempted to dispose it but she decided against it. What good would it do her if she engaged in her rash decision?

She was jealous of Xin Yan but the person in question had decided to forget about her for a while. Right now, she was trying out her bridal gown.

The wedding was going to last for two days. Today was the first day, the church wedding. Then tomorrow, the traditional wedding would take place.
