Chapter 30: Battle for New York..?

NEW YORK CITY (Live Update) — A state of pandemonium unfolded in Manhattan this evening when a colossal, radiant portal materialized above Stark Tower. This event unleashed a relentless onslaught of extraterrestrial forces into the city's core. Eyewitnesses describe the onset as sudden and unforeseen, triggering waves of alarm throughout New York's famed skyline as formidable vessels and otherworldly soldiers emerged from the vortex in the heavens.

The portal, aglow with strange green and blue luminescence, appeared at approximately 7:45 PM, suspended hundreds of feet over Stark Tower — the renowned base of operations for Tony Stark, alias Iron Man. This edifice, emblematic of innovation and valor, swiftly became the epicenter of an intense invasion as alien combatants swarmed over the metropolis.

Jamal Reyes, a resident of Queens, was on the subway when his phone erupted with messages about an extraordinary event in the sky. Upon exiting near Grand Central Station, he witnessed a colossal portal, reminiscent of a scene from a science fiction novel.

Eyewitness accounts describe the intruders as reptilian creatures donning metallic armor and brandishing advanced energy weapons. Social media is awash with videos showing alien crafts releasing soldiers and launching plasma attacks on buildings and thoroughfares, causing chaos and destruction. Observers are clear in their message: these beings have not come for dialogue; they are targeting any moving entity.

As the crisis unfolded, the wail of emergency sirens filled the city. NYPD and emergency services personnel worked feverishly to lead civilians to safety. Meanwhile, the streets became impassable, with many abandoning their cars in a desperate attempt to escape the pandemonium on foot.

Mayor Eric Whitlock has announced a state of emergency and requested federal assistance. The National Guard is in the process of mobilizing to aid the beleaguered police and fire departments, although the worsening conditions in the city are impeding their deployment. Additionally, there have been sightings of fighter jets patrolling the skies above the portal, but it is not yet confirmed if they have engaged with the invaders.

In a grave statement, the mayor offered assurances: "Assistance is forthcoming. We are fully committed to collaborating with state and federal entities to regain control of this crisis. The resilience of New Yorkers is unwavering, we shall overcome this challenge."

...

New York descended into chaos as colossal leviathans and numerous smaller alien vessels launched an unrelenting assault, bombarding the once vibrant metropolis with craters and plasma burns. With hundreds of alien ships arriving every minute, the fall of New York seemed imminent.

As the Quinjet touched down, Captain America briefed the assembled team on their strategy. In the midst of this, an unexpected arrival on a scooter caught their attention. The rider removed his helmet, revealing himself to be none other than Bruce Banner, to the collective astonishment of the team.

As they were about to regroup a Leviathan swooped down and started sliding through the streets toward the group who were stunned momentarily by the sudden event when Captain America notices Bruce walking toward the creature "Banner, I need you to get angry."

Bruce Smirks at Captain America and says with conviction "That's my secret, Cap. I'm always angry."

Bruce's stature and musculature began to grow at an astonishing rate and his skin began to gain a green hue.

Hulk sees the leviathan flying toward them and charges a punch!

"BOOOOM!"

With a thunderous punch, the Hulk almost sent the Leviathan tumbling over, its armored segments twisting under the immense force. The colossal beast ground to a halt just a street away from the heroes. The Hulk then rejoined his comrades, vigilantly scanning the skies for any more surprise assaults.

"Alright, listen up. Until we can close that portal, our priority is containment. Barton, I want you on that roof, eyes on everything. Call out patterns and strays. Stark, you've got the perimeter. Anything gets more than three blocks out, you turn it back or you turn it to ash." Captain says before he says to Thor, "Thor, you gotta try and bottleneck that portal. Slow them down. You've got the lightning. Light the bastards up."

Captain turns to Natasha who is fiddling with her equipment, "Romanoff, you and I will stay on the ground, keep the fighting here." He turns to the hulk and points. "And Hulk... smash."

Hulk smiles as he begins to ascend a nearby tower and grabs a chitauri soldier from the sky before throwing it into another chitauri soldier who immediately crashed into a building.

"HULK SMASH PUNY ALIENS!" Hulk roared as he flew into the fray

Captain America turned to the enigmatic Veridian with a contemplative look. "Given your ability to fly, I would advise you take on a wildcard role in this battle. Adapt to the unfolding events and act as necessary," he suggested. Acknowledging the strategy, William nodded and soared into the fray, his potent green ki emanating ahead of him. With a broad grin etched on his face, he plunged into the trajectory of the Chitauri ships, which erupted into flames in his wake.

"BOOOOM!" With a thunderous explosion, William shattered the hull of a Chitauri ship, seizing the pilot by the throat. In a swift motion, he hurled the alien into its comrades below, scattering them as a spray of purple blood and viscera marked the demise of the now-crushed foe.

William's gaze lifted skyward just in time to see three colossal leviathans glide through Thor's crackling lightning, descending ominously toward the unsuspecting city. With no time to lose, he flew towards the nearest behemoth. As he closed in on the towering entity, William channeled a surge of ki into his arm, concentrating the energy into his clenched fist. With a warrior's cry, he unleashed his power, aiming a devastating blow at the creature's eye!

"BOOOOOM!"

"SPLAT!"

The creature's eyeball collapsed into a purple, gelatinous mass as the force surged through to its brain, instantly ending its life. It began to plummet towards the city, but before it could crash into the buildings below, William delivered another mighty punch, propelling it towards the water and away from the densely populated area.

Having dispatched the nearest behemoth, William suddenly finds himself in the crosshairs of the remaining two. They encircle him, their Chitauri soldiers taking opportunistic shots. Despite his agility, William is hit by a barrage of fire, unable to evade every attack. The soldiers prematurely celebrate their apparent victory over the human warrior. However, their triumph is short-lived as an immense force bears down upon them. A greenish-black biomass envelops William, coalescing into a battle suit that shields his vital organs while affording him ample flexibility for combat and a fog-like ominous light began to seep from the sockets where the eyes should be.

Quickly regaining their composure, the Chitauri soldiers resumed their assault, unleashing a barrage of rapid-fire shots. "Shoonk, shoonk, shoonk," the sounds echoed as multiple blasts struck William's figure. Yet, he appeared unfazed by the onslaught. Upon closer inspection, one could discern a slender green sheen tracing the contours of his armor, a protective layer that seemed to wholly absorb the energy of each blast.

Once William finished testing his armor against standard alien tech weapons, he charged at the closest leviathan. This caused the Chitauri aboard to panic, firing their weapons haphazardly as they despaired, realizing their plasma blasts didn't even slow him down. William then pressed his armored hands into the leviathan's flesh which caused the creature to roar in pain "ROOOOOOAAAAR!" he pushed the beast towards its counterpart, which was caught off guard by the assault and couldn't dodge in time, resulting in a sudden collision.

Hawkeye who was firing shot after shot on a nearby rooftop witnessed this and couldn't help but say to himself "Glad he is on our side!" he shakes his head and shoots a chitauri soldier off his ship which tumbled into the streets below in fire!

Iron Man, engaged in a fierce battle with a group of adversaries, had just dispatched the final pursuer with his formidable weaponry. He took a moment to appreciate the resilience of his suit, crafted from Katchin metal composite, which rendered him nearly invulnerable to the Chitauri's onslaught, reducing the impact of their attacks to mere fractions. Looking up, he saw William skillfully maneuvering a Leviathan, teeming with Chitauri soldiers, into another, causing a colossal collision. Over the radio, he couldn't help but whistle in admiration and jest, "Save some glory for the rest of us, kid!"

Thor who had just finished launching a continuous blast of lightning toward the portal was laughing as he saw what William did "HAHAHAHA I have to introduce him to father some time." he spun Mjolnir in his hand and flew into the fray where he landed on top of a Leviathan and began dispatching the Chitauri soldiers on board before attempting to hammer the leviathan.

"BOOM!"Lightning crackled across the armor, barely leaving a dent and inflicting only a slight headache on the creature. Thor, recognizing that raw strength wasn't enough, was alerted by Hulk's bellowing roar. Glancing upward, he witnessed the green titan hurtling towards him, brandishing a sharp fragment of Leviathan armor. With a thunderous impact, Hulk drove the shard into the Leviathan's hide. "BOOM!" Realizing Hulk's strategy, Thor energized his hammer with a surge of lightning and hurled it at the enormous shard, embedding it deep into the Leviathan's skull with a thunderous "CRACK!" The colossal beast tumbled down onto the urban sprawl beneath, as the two champions assumed a victorious stance, ready to dive once more into the heat of battle.

As they gazed upward, a torrent of energy erupted from the tesseract machine, enhancing the portal that tore through the sky, widening like a gaping wound from which the cosmos itself seemed to bleed. The Hulk, recognizing the enormity of the portal, scaled the New York skyscrapers to engage the still-hovering Chitauri. Meanwhile, Thor, with lightning crackling in his eyes, whirled Mjolnir with a fury, propelling himself into the battle and toward the portal, where the shadowy outline of an immense armada loomed on the other side.

A colossal orb of dazzling green energy, so intense it captured Loki's attention from afar, was unleashed towards the skull of a leviathan. As the creature made its way through the portal, the energy blast struck its eye, causing the beast to convulse wildly. It appeared to graze the portal's edge, which sliced the leviathan in two, spilling its thick purple blood across the city.

Thor flies up to join his new companion making sure to blast his way through any Chitauri on his way and soon he reached the silhouette of a William wreathed in green flames that reminded him of the green flames of Hela as she revived scores of enemies mid battle, however these flames didn't feel deathly like hers which eased his worries, William notices Thor approaching and throws him a Chitauri vessel before yelling, "Batters up!"

A smile was on the face of Thor as he swung his hammer and caused the vessel to go up in flames but in his offhand he has grabbed the neck of the one of the Chitauri who was firing his gun and tossed it back at William with a quick retort, "Return to sender HAHAHA!"

In a spectacular display of aerial clumsiness, a Chitauri soldier tried to shoot while flying, but his aim was as stable as a one-legged robot on a unicycle. As he neared William, he found himself caught in a fiery embrace of ki flames. William, with a flick of his wrist and a flair for the dramatic, hurled the flaming soldier into his comrades trailing behind Iron Man. The result? A spectacular ki explosion that lit up the sky like a Fourth of July fireworks show, courtesy of the Chitauri's impromptu team bonding.

Iron man now free of pursuers landed on the pad of his tower where he had his AI J.A.R.V.I.S remove his armor as he approaches the smirking god inside his own penthouse!

"Please tell me that you are here to appeal to my humanity." Loki joked

"Actually Im planned to threaten you." Tony jokes right back causing a vein to form in Loki's forehead for a moment.

Tony, unbothered, pours himself a drink and starts analyzing Loki's plan. He points out the flaws, especially Loki's reliance on his alien army.

After a short back and forth Tony says to Loki.

"You're missing the point. There's no throne. There's no version of this where you come out on top. Maybe your army comes, and maybe it's too much for us, but it's all on you. Because if we can't protect the Earth, you can be damn well sure we'll avenge it."

Loki, unfazed, steps closer. Deciding to take control of the situation, he raises the scepter and presses it to Tony's chest. However, nothing happens.

"...This usually works." Loki is now visibly flustered

Tony smirks, tapping the arc reactor on his chest. "Well, performance issues. It's not uncommon. One out of five..."

In a fit of rage, Loki hurls Tony out of the window with a flick of his magical prowess. Plummeting towards the ground, Tony urgently summons J.A.R.V.I.S. to deploy the Mark VII katchin/gold composite armor. Responding instantly, the suit blasts off, piecing itself together around him in a breathtaking aerial display, and secures him mere moments before impact. With a newfound burst of adrenaline, Tony soars back into the battle, only to spot the Hulk charging towards the tower. The sight draws an involuntary chuckle from him, despite the chaos.

Loki watched Iron Man soar into the distance and sneered, "I'll deal with you later, mortal." As he turned to reclaim his vantage point, a thunderous roar reverberated through the tower. In an instant, the formidable Hulk barreled into Loki with the force of a battering ram, propelling him into a wall. Rising amidst the rubble, Loki stood, his eyes blazing with fury.

"Enough! You are, all of you, beneath me. I am a god, you dull creature, and I will not be bullied by—" Before he can finish, Hulk grabs him and smashes him repeatedly into the floor, leaving him stunned and humiliated.

Hulk saunters away from the pathetic trickster god and shakes his head, "Puny god!" he jumps back into the New York battle with a clean punch to a rampaging leviathan sending rippling force visibly through its giant eel-like body before the force exploded out the other side spraying New York in a fresh coat of purple blood.

William and Thor soared through the sky, their powers unleashed in a spectacular display. Ki fire and divine lightning surged from their hands, filling the portal and sending a cascade of alien technology and invaders plummeting down upon New York. The city was awash in chaos until the enemy, through sheer force of numbers and the sacrifice of their leviathans, finally penetrated the heroes' defenses. Surrounded by a menacing armada of enemy ships, weapons trained on them, the situation seemed dire. Yet, amidst the encircling darkness, a brilliant green light burst forth, piercing the blockade. The alien soldiers, sensing the overwhelming power, began to retreat instinctively, giving way to the might of the heroes.

As they reached a supposedly safe distance, the orb of green, sun-like energy became visible, astonishing onlookers from afar. William nodded as the green inferno swelled to critical mass, cueing Thor to launch his assault. Thor whirled his divine weapon, Mjolnir, at velocities that rendered it nearly invisible, the crackling of lightning and the distant rumble of thunder enveloped the warriors. William hurled the colossal sphere of green flames skyward, drawing all eyes to the celestial orb. A divine bolt of lightning then struck the quivering sphere of ki energy, leaving spectators in awe.

"BOOOOOOOOOOM!" Divine thunder and pristine ki energy merged, forming a vortex of teal flames that reduced the encircling Chitauri to dust, scattering them to the winds as they were obliterated on a cellular level. Molten metal dripped onto the earth below, and in the heavens, several leviathans, having been caught in the blast, appeared as if a massive piece of their being had been carved out. They writhed in agony, losing their composure, before succumbing to gravity and plummeting down.

William didn't notice that one of the leviathans was plummeting towards a certain neighborhood where he called home as the effort from before left him winded, the brilliant green flames that were blazing before were now sputtering and nearly translucent, Thor appeared next to William in a flash and pressed his hand against the young warrior's shoulder and praised him "That attack was brilliant young warrior!" causing William to look over and that was when he saw it a leviathan that was missing half its body plummeting towards his neighborhood!

A sudden roar escaped Williams lips as the brilliant green ki flames returned "NOOOOO!" which surprised Thor and sent him floating back as he looked to see what had caused the young warrior distress.

William's hair shimmered with a golden hue as he soared across the New York skyline. His muscles swelled, veins prominent against his skin, as he surged towards his home. Despite his speed, he was not swift enough. Before he could reach it, the leviathan slammed into his residence, causing the structure to crumble and an explosion that obliterated several adjacent homes soon accompanied the creature in its destruction.

As William landed, his face was etched with sheer disbelief and shock, seemingly oblivious to the swarm of aliens advancing towards him. The moment his feet made contact with the ground, he stumbled, and his knees hit the earth hard. Tears streamed down his face, reflecting the flickering flames in his eyes that danced between shades of green and gold. His aura, usually erratic, began to stabilize into a golden glow, tinged with a distinctive green hue that sparkled within. Just as the encircling aliens prepared to open fire, William clutched his head and let out a piercing scream, "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

A blast of pure hate filled energy destroyed the Chitauri that surrounded him and pushed the ones further away began to panic and attempt to retreat, hundreds of Chitauri dotted the sky around William as they witnessed the breathtaking transformation of the young warrior before them.

William was standing in a pillar of golden flames that seemed to reach into the atmosphere creating a new sun in the evening sky, he took a step, "BOOOM!" a new crater formed around William's foot as if he weighed several tons and before his other foot could touch the ground he vanished.

The Chitauri who were stunned by the transformation were once again fearfully looking around when suddenly, "BOOOOOM!" an explosion of several grouped Chitauri caused them to begin a complete retreat and in their panic, they refused to turn around even as they heard more and more explosions getting steadily closer and soon the final Chitauri that surrounded William felt a palm grab it by the back of its head and begin to float high into the sky.

The creature screeched and thrashed as it attempted to release the grasp on its head that seemed to be slowly increasing in pressure before and audible, "CRUNCH!" and the alien went limp with purple blood flowing down to the earth below as William casually dropped the now dead alien.

William rejoined the battle raging within the city, but Iron Man's voice crackled over the radio with urgent news: the government was about to launch a nuclear missile as a desperate failsafe, unaware that Natasha had successfully deactivated the portal's power, causing it to close slowly.

As Tony neared the missile, uncertainty about his return loomed—his suit's power was fading. With no backup plan, he resignedly positioned himself under the missile, aiming to redirect it into the narrowing portal. But as he approached the portal, the missile's weight suddenly disappeared, throwing Iron Man into a state of alarm. Whirling around, he saw William, shrouded in golden flames and green ki particles, propelling himself toward the portal.

With a resounding roar, William charged at the portal, his body radiating with intense ki that amplified his strength. He flung the missile through the portal and quickly amassed a vortex of golden ki, laced with green vapors, in his mouth. Releasing this energy at the missile, now nearing the alien fleet, the two forces collided in a moment of silent suspense. Then, a deafening explosion broke the silence as the missile burst into ki-infused flames, its roar engulfing the void. As the portal snapped shut, William glimpsed what resembled a tiny sun, its gravitational force capturing the entire Chitauri armada, leaving him in stunned admiration—he had only meant to detonate an explosion.

Intent on rejoining the battle below, William's energy suddenly depleted, and he began to fall toward Earth like a shooting star.
