Reborn As Yamcha With The Cultivations System

Chapter 2: Let's it all start

Yamcha ran through the forest, the trees blurring past him as he focused on the powerful ki signature. His heart raced with excitement and anticipation, wondering if he might be running toward Goku or another familiar ally. However, as he closed the distance, the energy he felt was not what he expected.

He skidded to a stop, eyes widening as he saw the figure before him. It was Piccolo, deep in meditation, his emerald skin contrasting sharply with the earthy tones of the forest. The Namekian warrior was an imposing sight, especially considering this was before he had turned over a new leaf and joined the Z Fighters.

Yamcha's thoughts raced. "So I die so early, huh?" he muttered under his breath, realizing he might be in over his head. The memories of battles against Piccolo flooded back, reminding him of the fierce and ruthless warrior he once faced. This was not the Piccolo who had become a friend; this was the cold, calculating fighter who had once sought to destroy Goku.

"Okay, think, Yamcha," he whispered to himself, trying to stay calm. "You're not the same weakling you were before. You have a cultivation system now, and you're much stronger than you used to be. Just don't let him see you as a threat."

He took a cautious step forward, trying to gauge Piccolo's reaction. The Namekian didn't move or even open his eyes, his focus seemingly absolute. This gave Yamcha a bit of courage.

"Hey, Piccolo!" Yamcha called out, attempting to sound confident, but the slight tremor in his voice betrayed him.

Piccolo's eyes snapped open, and he glared at Yamcha with a mix of annoyance and curiosity. "What do you want?" he asked, his voice low and threatening.

Yamcha swallowed hard, feeling a surge of nervousness. "Uh, I just wanted to know what you're doing out here. You know, meditating and all that… very zen."

Piccolo's expression didn't soften. "You're Yamcha, right? Why are you here? You shouldn't be wandering around alone, especially not near this area."

Yamcha felt a wave of tension wash over him. "I—I know I'm not exactly the strongest fighter, but I'm working on it. I've got some new training methods, and I'm hoping to become a better fighter," he replied, trying to earn some respect.

Piccolo raised an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed. "Working on it? You think you can just improve overnight? This is serious business, and you're still weak."

Yamcha's heart sank at the reminder of his past failures. "Yeah, I get it," he replied, feeling a little defeated. "But I've been given a second chance, and I'm not going to waste it."

Piccolo studied him for a moment, his eyes narrowing. "A second chance? How?"

Yamcha hesitated but then decided to share a bit. "I was… reborn. I have a cultivation system now. It's supposed to help me train and get stronger."

Piccolo regarded him with skepticism. "Cultivation system? Sounds like a load of nonsense."

"Maybe," Yamcha admitted, "but I'm not just sitting around waiting for the next threat. I want to be ready when it comes."

Piccolo contemplated Yamcha's words, his expression shifting slightly as he considered the potential of a stronger Yamcha. "If you're serious about this, then you better start training. You'll need more than just words to survive what's coming."

Yamcha's resolve strengthened at Piccolo's suggestion. "You're right! Can you help me? I know you're powerful, and I could really use some training tips," he asked, hopeful.

Piccolo narrowed his eyes, contemplating the idea. "I don't train just anyone, Yamcha. But… if you truly have a new method to grow stronger, I might consider sparring with you."

A rush of adrenaline surged through Yamcha. "Yes! That would be amazing! I'll give it my all, I promise!"

Piccolo gave a faint nod. "Fine. But don't expect me to go easy on you. If you want to survive, you'll have to push yourself beyond your limits."

"Understood!" Yamcha replied, determination flooding his veins. As he prepared for what was sure to be a tough training session, he couldn't help but think about how this was his chance to finally change his fate and become the fighter he had always wanted to be.

As they began to spar, Yamcha felt a rush of exhilaration. This was his new life, and he was determined not to waste it.

But then with one Punch Piccolo sent Yamcha flying, Piccolo scoped and flyed away, as Yamcha was on the floor.

Yamcha ran through the forest, the trees blurring past him as he focused on the powerful ki signature. As they began to spar, Yamcha felt a rush of exhilaration. This was his new life, and he was determined not to waste it.

Yamcha felt the wind knocked out of him as he landed hard on the forest floor, the impact sending a jolt of pain through his body. He groaned, pushing himself up on one elbow to catch his breath.

"Well, that went well," he muttered sarcastically, still feeling the sting of Piccolo's punch. The Namekian had barely broken a sweat, and Yamcha had barely landed a hit before he was sent sprawling.

As he lay there, he glanced up at the bright blue sky, trying to shake off the daze. Just then, the familiar blue screen flickered to life in front of him.

[Host, what did you think was going to happen?]

Yamcha frowned at the screen, irritation bubbling inside him. "I thought maybe we'd have a more balanced sparring session! I'm not a total weakling anymore, you know!"

[Your power level is still significantly lower than Piccolo's. It would take considerable effort and training to match him.]

"Thanks for the reminder," Yamcha grumbled, getting to his feet and brushing dirt off his clothes. "But I can't just give up! I need to figure out how to make this cultivation system work for me. How do I get stronger?"

[To strengthen your cultivation, you must complete certain tasks and engage in battles to gain experience points (EP). These can be earned through training, defeating enemies, and overcoming challenges. Would you like to access your current EP and cultivation status?]

Yamcha hesitated, then nodded. "Yeah, let's see what I'm working with."

The system screen updated, displaying his stats:

---

[Cultivation Status]

Name: Yamcha

Species: Human

Power Level: 5,000

Cultivation Mode: Ki

EP: 50

Level: 1

[Abilities:]

Basic Ki Manipulation

Energy Blast

---

"Five thousand?" Yamcha echoed, his voice dripping with disbelief. "That's pathetic! I thought I'd at least have a bit more to work with after being reborn with this system!"

[As mentioned, your power level is significantly lower than many characters in this universe. Your starting point reflects your previous limitations, but with the cultivation system, you can surpass them.]

"Right," Yamcha sighed, rubbing his temples. "So how do I earn more EP?"

[You earn EP through the following means:]

1. Training Sessions: Engaging in regular training to hone your skills.

2. Battles: Fighting opponents to gain experience.

3. Missions: Completing tasks that will provide additional bonuses ]

"Okay, so I need to find a way to train and get into fights. I can do that," he said, determination creeping back into his voice.

Yamcha looked at the system. "Alright, let me start... I will do what Piccolo did, Meditation most Cultivation MC start with that".

Yamcha took a deep breath, centering himself as he recalled what he had seen Piccolo do. The Namekian warrior had been focused and calm, drawing in energy from the environment around him. If he wanted to tap into his new cultivation system, meditation seemed like a solid start.

"Alright, let's do this," he said, finding a suitable spot on the forest floor. He crossed his legs and closed his eyes, trying to clear his mind. "Focus on the energy within and around me."

[Initiating meditation sequence…]

Yamcha felt the familiar hum of energy around him, the gentle rustling of leaves and the sounds of wildlife creating a serene backdrop. He concentrated on his breathing, inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly, trying to attune himself to the energy of the world.

As he focused, he felt the presence of ki swirling around him, almost like a gentle breeze. It felt warm and inviting, and he began to visualize it as a golden light enveloping his body. The more he concentrated, the more he could sense his own ki, faint yet growing stronger.

[Meditation in progress…]

[Time: 10 minutes elapsed]

[Cultivation progress: +10 EP]

Yamcha's eyes shot open in surprise. "Wait, I just gained EP from meditating? This is way easier than I thought!"

Encouraged by this newfound knowledge, he dove back into his meditation, this time visualizing himself drawing energy from the surrounding nature—roots from the earth, sunlight filtering through the trees, and even the distant sounds of flowing water.

[Meditation in progress…]

[Time: 20 minutes elapsed]

[Cultivation progress: +20 EP]

[Total EP: 80]

The system chimed again, and Yamcha smiled, feeling the energy flowing more freely within him. With each passing moment, he could feel his power steadily increasing, and his connection to his ki deepening.

"Alright, let's keep this up," he thought, pushing himself deeper into his meditation. He envisioned himself surrounded by a glowing aura, visualizing his ki expanding and growing stronger with every breath.

[Meditation in progress…]

[Time: 30 minutes elapsed]

[Cultivation progress: +30 EP]

[Total EP: 110]

Yamcha opened his eyes, feeling invigorated. "This is actually working! I can't believe I'm getting stronger just by sitting here."

Feeling a surge of determination, he decided it was time to test his abilities. "Alright, I need to see what I can do with this cultivation system. I've got to push my limits if I want to keep up with these powerful fighters."

He stood up, stretching his limbs and feeling the energy thrumming through his body. "Let's see if I can manage a basic energy blast."

Yamcha raised his hand, focusing on the ki within him. He felt the warmth pooling in his palm, and he concentrated, channeling it into a small sphere of energy.

"Come on… here we go!"

He released the energy, a bright beam shooting out from his hand and exploding against a nearby tree, leaving a charred mark.

[Ability Unlocked: Energy Blast]

[EP Cost: 10 EP]

Yamcha grinned, exhilaration coursing through him. "Yes! I can actually fight back now!"

But as the excitement bubbled within him, the previous tremor he felt earlier returned, now stronger and more ominous. The ground shook again, and the sound of rushing wind reached his ears.

"Something's coming," he muttered, his adrenaline kicking in. "Time to see if I'm really ready for a fight."

He took a moment to gather himself, feeling the power coursing through him from his recent training. With his senses heightened, he focused on the approaching energy signature. It was large and threatening, and he could feel the intensity even before seeing what it was.

Yamcha squared his shoulders, ready to face whatever challenge lay ahead. "Let's see what this cultivation system can really do."

Just then, the source of the energy emerged from the tree line: a hulking creature with green skin, sharp claws, and a menacing glare.

"What the hell is that?" Yamcha said, instinctively stepping back. The creature let out a roar, charging toward him with impressive speed.

"Okay, time to test my skills!" Yamcha shouted, bracing himself for the encounter. He summoned his ki and prepared to fight, knowing this was his chance to prove he was more than just Yamcha, the weakling. He was now a warrior with a purpose, ready to carve his path in this vast world of Dragon Ball.
