Chapter 6: Next Level and System limits
As Yamcha was Mediating, he noticed something was happening, normally he would a system Notification saying that his Ep has increased but there was non
Yamcha opened his eyes and spoke. "Hey system what is wrong, why do I don't get anymore Ep"
[ It is because the host has reach the Daily Mediation Ep limit ]
Yamcha looked at the system. "There is a Daily limit".
[ Yes it took stop the host for relying on the same method to get Ep, but there is a good news ]
Yamcha looked at the system. "What is that"
[ You have reached the 2nd stage of Demon Cultivation ]
Yamcha felt a surge of energy coursing through him at the system's notification. "The second stage? So what does that mean for me?"
[ As a 2nd stage cultivator, your base power has increased significantly. Your physical strength, speed, and energy control have all improved. You now have access to new skills and abilities specific to this stage of Demon Cultivation. ]
Yamcha couldn't help but grin. "Finally, some real progress!" He stood up, stretching his limbs, feeling the newfound strength. "What kind of skills can I access now?"
[ You can now learn skills related to Ki manipulation, enhanced regeneration, and basic elemental attacks. Additionally, you can start forming a Ki signature, which will help in masking your presence or enhancing your attacks. ]
"Nice!" Yamcha said, already envisioning the possibilities. "But what happens if I hit the limit again? How do I get more EP?"
[ There are various methods to increase your EP, including challenging powerful foes, training under skilled masters, or discovering new cultivation techniques. You can also complete missions that the system will provide from time to time. ]
Yamcha nodded, feeling motivated. "So I need to train harder and take on tougher challenges. Got it." He began to pace, considering his options. "What should I do next?"
Suddenly, he remembered Melee's words about the demons wanting the stolen book. "I could help them with their issue and see if they have anything to teach me in return. But first, I should test my new abilities."
He focused his Ki, feeling the energy flow through him. As he concentrated, he could feel a warmth enveloping him, like a second skin. "Alright, let's see what this elemental attack is all about," he said, raising his hand.
He visualized a small fireball forming in his palm, as he'd seen in countless martial arts films. To his surprise, a flickering orb of flames appeared, crackling with energy. "Whoa, this is awesome!"
[ Be careful, Host. Fire attacks can easily backfire if not controlled properly. ]
Yamcha took a deep breath, focusing on the fireball. "Right, right. Let's not burn down the forest." He let the fire dissipate and redirected his energy. "Maybe I should practice my Ki signature instead."
He closed his eyes again, letting the energy within him settle. He imagined a soft glow surrounding him, a faint light that would pulse with his heartbeat. Slowly, he felt the energy shift. With a gentle push, he released it into the air around him.
For a moment, nothing happened. Then he noticed a faint shimmering barrier forming around him, barely visible but undeniably present. "There it is!" he exclaimed. "I can feel it! It's like a shield."
[ You've successfully created a Ki signature, Host. This will allow you to hide your presence from those who are less attuned to energy. ]
"Awesome!" Yamcha's excitement bubbled over. "Now I can sneak around if I need to." He felt a rush of confidence. "Time to test my new powers out in the field."
As he prepared to leave, he remembered his conversation with Melee and Goku. "Maybe I can talk to Melee about improving my skills further. The demons might have some useful techniques."
With a determined expression, Yamcha took off into the sky, feeling invigorated and ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. The world below opened up before him, and he knew he was only at the beginning of his journey.
A few hours later, he arrived at the castle of the demon clan. He landed gracefully, surveying the surroundings. It was grander than he'd imagined, with towering spires and ornate architecture. The air buzzed with a strange energy, a mixture of excitement and danger.
He stepped inside and was immediately greeted by Melee. "Yamcha! I see you've returned. Have you made progress in your training?"
Yamcha nodded, trying to keep the excitement from bubbling over. "I've reached the 2nd stage of Demon Cultivation. I've even learned some new skills."
Melee's eyes widened slightly. "Impressive for a human. Most take years to reach that stage."
"Thanks," Yamcha replied, feeling a swell of pride. "I was wondering if you could teach me some techniques or is there anyway I can help you guys"
Melee considered him for a moment. "Perhaps you can assist us. There's an area nearby rumored to be a hideout for rogue demons who might be causing troubles for all of us. If you can retrieve information from them, it will help us greatly."
Yamcha grinned, ready for action. "Let's do it! I can handle it."
Melee's expression softened a bit. "Be careful, Yamcha. They are not to be underestimated."
With that, Yamcha set out, determined to prove himself and explore the depths of his new abilities. Little did he know that the trials ahead would push him to his limits, forcing him to grow stronger than he ever thought possible.
As he ventured into the unknown, he couldn't shake the feeling that his journey was just beginning. The path of cultivation was fraught with challenges, but with each step, he felt closer to mastering the art and uncovering the mysteries of his new world.
Yamcha was walking, as he smiled. "You know System, I am happy I made to Second level so quickly, even if Goku is on the 6th Level of Saiyan Cultivation"
[ Yes host be proud, but do remember, out of everyone Goku has the highest speed in Cultivation level and even the highest speed in everything ]
Yamcha just sighed. "Figures he is the Main Character after all".
As Yamcha walked through the demon castle's vast corridors, he couldn't shake the feeling of excitement mixed with a hint of anxiety. The journey toward mastery in Demon Cultivation had only just begun, and while he was proud of his rapid progress, the weight of Goku's achievements loomed large in his mind.
"Hey, System," he said, glancing up at the ethereal interface hovering nearby, "can you give me a comparison of Goku's abilities versus mine right now?"
[ Goku, as a 6th stage Saiyan cultivator, possesses enhanced physical abilities, advanced Ki techniques, and unmatched combat instincts. Your current abilities as a 2nd stage cultivator provide a solid foundation, but you lack the experience and diverse skill set that Goku has. ]
Yamcha nodded, reflecting on the information. "So, basically, I have a long way to go."
[ Correct. However, you have unique advantages that Goku does not, including the ability to learn and adapt techniques from various cultivation systems. ]
"True," Yamcha replied, feeling a bit more encouraged. "At least I have some variety to work with."
As he reached the entrance of the demon hideout, Yamcha took a deep breath and prepared himself. "Alright, let's see what kind of rogue demons are hanging around. I need to gather information without getting into too much trouble."
The air was thick with a dark energy as he stepped inside, revealing a dimly lit cavern filled with the sound of murmurs and shuffling. He cautiously moved deeper, staying alert for any signs of danger.
Suddenly, he spotted a group of demons gathered around a table, discussing something animatedly. Yamcha quietly approached, straining to catch snippets of their conversation.
"Did you hear about the humans? They're getting stronger," one of the demons said, his voice low and gruff.
"Yeah, especially that one with the weird abilities," another replied. "I heard he's looking for the Phoenix Book."
Yamcha's interest piqued. They know about the book?
He leaned closer, hoping to glean more information. "We should warn the boss," one of the demons suggested. "If they get their hands on it, we're done for."
Yamcha's heart raced. This was the lead he needed. He silently maneuvered closer, just within earshot, trying to stay hidden behind a rocky outcrop.
The group continued their discussion, unaware of his presence. "Let's get our hands on that human before he finds the book. I heard he's weak, just a second-stage cultivator."
Yamcha couldn't help but scoff at their underestimation. Weak, huh? Let's see how they feel about that.
Gathering his courage, he stepped out from his hiding spot, a confident smirk on his face. "You guys talking about me?"
The demons turned, eyes widening in shock as they registered his presence.
"Who the hell are you?" one of them snarled, standing up and flexing his muscles.
Yamcha grinned, ready to make his mark. "Just a human looking for some answers. Heard you might have information about the Phoenix Book."
The tension in the air thickened as the demons exchanged wary glances. "You shouldn't be here," another said, slowly inching toward him. "This is our territory."
Yamcha took a step forward, channeling his energy, feeling the heat from his newly learned elemental abilities begin to swirl around him. "I suggest you tell me what you know, or this will get ugly."
The demons exchanged glances again, their confidence wavering slightly. They clearly underestimated him, but Yamcha was determined to prove them wrong. He had come too far to back down now.
"You think you can scare us?" the leader of the group taunted, though there was a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes.
"Not scare," Yamcha replied, smirking as he summoned a small fireball into his hand. "Just giving you a friendly reminder of what happens when you cross a human who's just reached the second stage of Demon Cultivation."
The leader's bravado faltered. "Wait, you're serious? You really think you can take us all on?"
Yamcha's grin widened. "Well, I'm certainly going to try. Now, are you going to talk, or do I need to show you?"
The atmosphere shifted as the group of demons weighed their options. After a moment of hesitation, one of the quieter demons spoke up. "Alright, we might know something... but it won't be free. What do we get in return?"
Yamcha lowered the fireball slightly, realizing this was his chance to negotiate. "Information in exchange for something of value. How about some training tips? Or maybe a favor in the future?"
The leader glanced at his comrades, weighing the offer. After a brief discussion, he nodded slowly. "Fine. But if you betray us, it won't end well for you, human."
Yamcha crossed his arms, confidence radiating from him. "Deal. Now, tell me what you know about the Phoenix Book."
As the demons began to divulge what they knew, Yamcha felt a surge of satisfaction. Not only was he gathering valuable information, but he was also proving that he could hold his own against those who underestimated him. This was just the beginning of his journey, and he was ready to seize every opportunity that came his way.
As the demons huddled closer, their voices grew hushed, their demeanor shifting from hostile to conspiratorial. Yamcha's heart raced with anticipation as he leaned in to catch every word.
"The Phoenix Book," the leader began, his voice a low whisper, "is said to contain ancient knowledge about cultivation techniques that can elevate one's powers beyond imagination. It was lost centuries ago when the last Demon Queen was defeated."
Yamcha nodded, urging him to continue. "And how did it end up missing? Who took it?"
The demon hesitated, glancing at his companions. "It was stolen by a rogue sorcerer who sought to harness its power for himself. He fled to Earth, where he believed he could remain hidden. That was centuries ago. No one knows what happened to him or the book."
"Do you have any leads on where to find this sorcerer?" Yamcha pressed, his mind racing with possibilities.
One of the quieter demons spoke up, "Rumor has it he was last seen near a mountain range, deep in the human territories. It's a treacherous place, filled with powerful beasts and traps. Not many dare to venture there."
Yamcha took a moment to process the information. "That's where I'll go then. But I need more than just a location. What kind of traps or guardians should I expect?"
The leader nodded, seemingly impressed with Yamcha's determination. "The sorcerer was a master of illusions. He could create mirages that lead travelers astray. It's said he also summoned guardians to protect his lair—monstrous creatures that obey his every command."
Yamcha's expression hardened. "Great. Just what I need—more monsters to deal with. But I'm not backing down."
"Listen, human," the leader warned, his tone serious, "you should reconsider. Many have tried to retrieve the Phoenix Book, and they all failed. You might be strong, but these beasts are on another level."
"I appreciate the warning, but I've faced worse," Yamcha replied confidently, recalling his battles against powerful foes in the past. "But if I get the book, I'll need help. What kind of favor can you offer me in return for the information?"
The demons exchanged glances again, this time more contemplative. The leader finally said, "We can assist you in the battle, but only if you prove yourself first. We need a demonstration of your strength to show we can trust you."
Yamcha raised an eyebrow. "A demonstration, huh? Alright, what do you have in mind?"
"Fight one of us," the leader challenged, stepping back to create space. "Show us what you can do. If you defeat him, we'll help you."
Yamcha considered it for a moment. This was an opportunity not only to prove himself but also to gain valuable allies. "Fine. Who's my opponent?"
A taller demon stepped forward, grinning widely. "That would be me. I'm not just any demon; I'm one of the best in our group. Prepare to lose!"
As the other demons formed a circle around them, Yamcha could feel their anticipation. He took a deep breath, centering himself. "Let's see what you've got."
With a sudden burst of energy, the demon charged at Yamcha, fists flying. Yamcha quickly sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the strike. He retaliated with a swift kick, but the demon was surprisingly agile, dodging out of the way.
Yamcha's heart raced as he engaged in combat, each exchange becoming more intense. He realized that while the demon had speed and strength, he needed to rely on his newfound skills in cultivation and his system abilities.
"System, give me a status report!" Yamcha shouted during a brief moment of separation.
[ Analyzing combat performance. Host's stamina at 90%. Enemy stamina at 85%. ]
Yamcha grinned, feeling empowered. "Not bad, but I can do better."
With renewed determination, he unleashed a series of punches, combining his martial arts with his demonic energy. He focused on harnessing the elemental abilities he had started to master. With a flick of his wrist, he summoned flames that swirled around his fists, enhancing his strikes.
The demon's eyes widened in surprise as Yamcha connected with a blazing punch, sending him staggering back. "What the—?"
Yamcha took the opportunity to press the attack, moving in with speed. He spun and delivered a powerful kick to the demon's side, causing him to crash against the rocky wall of the cavern.
As the dust settled, Yamcha stood tall, breathing heavily but ready for whatever came next. The other demons watched in stunned silence.
"Is that all you've got?" Yamcha taunted, adrenaline coursing through him.
The leader of the demons, who had been watching intently, exchanged a glance with his comrades. "Impressive," he admitted reluctantly. "But this fight isn't over yet!"
The demon rose to his feet, visibly angered but also invigorated. "You got lucky, human! Let's see how you handle this!"
With a roar, the demon summoned a dark energy around him, transforming it into a formidable shield. "I won't go down so easily!"
Yamcha's expression shifted from confident to serious. This could be trouble.
He focused on his system. "What are my options, System?"
[ Host can utilize energy-based techniques or attempt to break the demon's defenses using a physical or elemental attack. However, be cautious; the demon's energy shield is formidable. ]
Yamcha contemplated his next move. Time to go all out.
With a determined shout, he drew on the energy within him, feeling the power surge through his body. He summoned a massive fireball, concentrating the flames until it glowed brilliantly in his hands.
"Let's see how you handle this!" Yamcha shouted, launching the fireball directly at the demon.
The demon braced himself, but the intensity of the fireball overwhelmed his shield, exploding upon impact and sending him flying across the room.
As the smoke cleared, Yamcha stepped forward cautiously. The demon lay on the ground, groaning, unable to rise.
The circle of demons stared in shock, realization dawning on them. Yamcha had not only defeated one of their strongest but had also proven himself as a worthy opponent.
"Well, how about that?" Yamcha said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "Still think I'm weak?"
The leader stepped forward, a newfound respect in his eyes. "You've earned our trust, human. We will help you find the Phoenix Book."
Yamcha nodded, feeling a rush of accomplishment. "Great. Now, let's talk strategy."
As the demons gathered around, Yamcha felt a sense of belonging among these unlikely allies. The journey ahead would be fraught with challenges, but he was ready to face whatever came next—with friends by his side and the determination to prove himself in this new world of cultivation.
