Reborn-I wasted my previous life so that much change

Chapter 3: New School

As the teachers guided us to the library, I

couldn't help but be excited. "Hey, Kaiser. What do you think our magic is

going to be like?" That question left me speechless. In all my life as a human,

I have watched many anime, read manga and comics and even read some novels.

This caused me to have seen countless powers in my lifetime. I just hoped that

it was something cool and useful. "I hope I get something as strong as my mom

or as flexible as my dad," I answered. To be honest, I began to be riddled with

fear. "I want to be strong, the strongest but what if I get something that is

either weak or something hard to master?"

My worries became visible. My limbs started shaking, I started sweating and my sight became blurry. I felt like I was about

to break down, but that's when I heard an angelic voice. I scanned the area while walking towards the library but with the crowd of people, it was hard to pinpoint the source of the voice. Unfortunately, we made it to the library before I could find the person who sang so beautifully. "Are you ready, kiddo?" my dad asked me. I took a deep breath, nodded my head and then entered the room. It was an amazing sight. The entire library was filled with grimoires. Soon the

voice and my powers became a side thought.

"This world is just so cool!" I thought to

myself. It was then that I was called forth. As I walked towards the crystal ball, my anxiety turned into curiosity. I placed my hand on the magical sphere. A bright aura radiated from it, and soon, ancient language appeared inside of it. "It seems that your son will have conjuring magic." It wasn't what I expected but it wasn't something I regretted either. I was glad that I had the power to make whatever I wanted. I knew that with this power I had the potential to become the greatest mage in all of Freither, actually scratch that, in all of Questria.

It was then that I heard the same enchanting voice. "I must find out where that amazing singing is from," I stated. It wasn't an easy task since the school was huge, but I wasn't planning on giving up. I thoroughly searched the entire campus but it was in vain. I eventually admitted defeat. Soon, a loud ringing could be heard throughout the entire school. It was followed by an announcement that informed us to gather in front of the school. I began to head there.

While walking towards the front of the

school, I tried to find Darwin. I was curious about what type of magic he

acquired. I rushed to congregate with the others, but while running, I bumped

into someone. "Sorry about that," a soft voice said while offering me a hand. I

grabbed onto it only to feel how soft and smooth her skin felt. "Hi, I'm

Kaiser. What's your name?" "I'm Melody," she answered while fidgeting with her

hair. We started a conversation while heading towards the crowd. She was shy at

first but after minutes of talking, she opened up to me.

We made it to the crowd and I was so excited about

what would happen next. After a speech from one of the teachers, we were split

into classes. Luckily, I was in the same

class as Melody and Darwin. Subsequently, we were shown our classes and other

spots that we would be utilizing in the near future. For the rest of the day,

we were free to do as we pleased as long as we didn't interrupt the other students'

learning. "I love it here!" "Me too, Darwin. What about you Melody?" She took

some time to gather her thoughts and with a big smile she said, "It's amazing!"

We spent hours of our day running around the

training grounds. After sweat poured from our faces and we were panting, we

decided to take a break. "Hey, Melody," Darwin said grabbing her attention,

"what is your hobby?" "Well, I like music." Darwin's eyes lit up with

excitement. "Do you play an instrument?" he asked prior to her shaking her head

in response. "I actually sing but I'm not that good at it," she answered while

covering her face with her hair.

 Darwin, unintentionally, made her

uncomfortable by begging her to sing relentlessly. I slapped him on the back of

his neck and then told her that if she doesn't want to she doesn't have to. She

nodded her head. After talking for a bit longer the scorching sun started to

disappear. "Maybe we should go see our parents," I suggested. "It is getting

late. I'll rush ahead for now. Bye, Kaiser. Bye, Melody." He dashed out of our

line of sight, leaving Melody and I together. "Shall we?" I asked reaching out

my hand to her. Reluctantly, she

followed up on my gesture and we walked towards the entrance of our school.

Her cheeks turned pink and she avoided eye

contact. After realizing how she was reacting, I asked her if it was okay to be

holding her hand. She was quiet as a mouse so I thought that meant that it was

making her uncomfortable. Because of that I tried letting go of her hand but

she grabbed it tightly, almost cutting off my circulation, and looked at me

dead in the eyes. "I'm just getting used to this. I haven't really held hands

with others other than my dad."

I couldn't help but drift my attention towards

her emerald eyes. My heart started beating more rapidly after each second. Even

in my past life, I have never felt this way before. All I wanted to do was hold

her hand for the rest of my life but that soon came to an end. "Kiddo! I'm here

to carry you home!" My dad shouted after seeing me. "I guess I'll see you

tomorrow, right?" "Of course! See you later, Kaiser." It felt like a crime to

let her small hands go but I had to. I couldn't help but think about her on the

way home. "So is that your new friend?" I nodded in response. "What is her

name?" he interrogated. "Her name is Melody." "Ah, I see!" he responded with a

smirk on his face. "I have a surprise waiting for you at home Kaiser." "What is

it, Dad?" "You'll see when we get there."
