Reborn in Konoha; I Think I’m Cultivating Immortality

Chapter 242: Chapter 242

Ten days passed in a blur.

Somewhere in the shinobi world, Hui muttered to himself in frustration, "I should have just asked the White Snake Sage how to get to Shikkotsu Forest. Ugh, how careless of me."

He wandered aimlessly, back to traveling alone.

As for Kage, she had been escorted back to Konoha by his Shadow Avatar #1.

Hui had chosen to journey across the shinobi world to train and reflect, deliberately leaving even Tsunade behind. How could he possibly bring another women along with him?

"This Human Body Evolution Technique is truly fascinating. Whoever came up with it must have been a genius," he murmured, glancing at the scroll in his hand.

The Human Body Evolution Technique was a method of training that allowed the body to better adapt to the senjutsu chakra formed by combining natural energy and chakra. It was somewhat similar to Sage Mode, but fundamentally different.

Sage Mode involved actively mastering the ratio of natural energy and chakra to form senjutsu chakra, whereas the Human Body Evolution Technique allowed the body to passively adapt to the senjutsu chakra over time.

Through this process, natural energy would gradually integrate into the body, triggering a process of physical evolution.

Sage Mode focused on controlling external forces, while the Human Body Evolution Technique emphasized transforming oneself.

This concept resonated deeply with Hui's own vision.

He had told the White Snake Sage that he intended to create an entirely new Sage Mode. Specifically, a human Sage Mode.

Hui's goal wasn't just to bring peace to the shinobi world, no, that would was far too simple. With his overwhelming power, he could impose peace by force.

Anyone who dared to start a war—kill them.

Anyone who bullied the weak—kill them.

Anyone who incited conflict—kill them.

By eradicating all who threatened peace, the shinobi world would naturally achieve peace.

In fact, if Hui truly desired peace, he could unify the entire shinobi world into a single village under his constant surveillance.

He would become a god, watching over all life. His will would dictate peace, and the world would have no choice but to comply.

But such an approach was utterly meaningless to him.

It was too extreme, no different from Uchiha Madara's vision of the Infinite Tsukuyomi.

As the saying goes, "Solitary yin cannot grow; solitary yang cannot flourish."

Peace and conflict were intrinsic aspects of human development.

Eliminating war entirely might not be an absolute good for humanity as a whole.

Hui wanted to change more than just the physical environment people lived in. He sought to transform their way of thinking.

And, of course, physical evolution was part of his plan. The Human Body Evolution Technique aligned perfectly with his vision of reshaping the human physique in the shinobi world.

"Next stop: the Land of Water," Hui muttered to himself. "Once I've visited Shikkotsu Forest, this journey across the shinobi world will be just about complete."

Though he hadn't traversed every corner of the shinobi world, he had seen most of what mattered. He had reached conclusions about what he needed to do and how to act once he returned.

By now, nearly two years had passed since he began his journey. It was about time to head back.

"Let's keep moving. I hope the final leg of this trip brings some surprises," he said softly and continued forward.

He leaped over mountains, crossed seas, and arrived in a damp, rainy land perpetually shrouded in mist—the Land of Water.

This was a vast island nation.

Because of its isolation from the mainland, the Land of Water had maintained a unique position in the shinobi world's conflicts.

Other countries and villages rarely attempted to invade it, as it simply wasn't worth the effort of crossing the sea.

Kirigakure, however, often launched raids into the Land of Fire to plunder resources, though seizing territory was seldom their aim. After all, any land they occupied would be difficult for them to defend.

Ultimately, Kirigakure's stronghold remained in the Land of Water, bordered by the sea.

After arriving in the Land of Water, Hui headed straight for Kirigakure.

In his visits to the other Great Nations, he hadn't entered their respective hidden villages. This time, however, he intended to see Kirigakure up close.

As he traveled, he noticed subtle differences between the people of the Land of Water and those of other nations.

They reminded him somewhat of the people of the Land of Fire.

There was an absence of worry in their expressions.

Hui understood the reason behind this. The people of the Land of Water had little fear of foreign invasions, but that did not mean they didn't face other difficulties faced by people of other nations.

This realization brought a faint smile to his face, sparking further thoughts.

..

Walking, thinking, and reflecting, Hui eventually arrived at Kirigakure.

Like all major villages, Kirigakure was protected by a barrier. Any unfamiliar, powerful chakra entering the area would immediately alert the barrier team.

Kirigakure was no exception. Even from a distance, Hui could sense the barrier's presence.

But such defenses posed no challenge for him. The fundamental energy within him was Primordial Qi. Chakra, light, and natural energy were merely derivatives formed from the Primordial Qi.

While the barrier could detect chakra, it couldn't sense Qi.

By absorbing all his chakra, Hui appeared to other shinobi as nothing more than an ordinary person. Disguised as part of a merchant caravan, he easily entered Kirigakure.

Kirigakure's architecture differed from that of other villages, adapted to its unique environment.

Every village in the shinobi world reflected its geography: Konoha, Iwagakure, Sunagakure. All were distinct in their own unique ways.

Hui didn't particularly like or dislike Kirigakure's style. However, he felt that Konoha's environment and architecture were the most suitable for living.

He found a small tavern, knowing that such places were the best for overhearing secrets.

People often came to drink for release. Whether in joy, sorrow, or for other reasons. Few drank purely for the sake of it.

Hui wasn't fond of alcohol; he preferred plain water. Fortunately, this world's sake was more like juice to him.

After sitting down for only a short while, he overheard a group of Kirigakure shinobi talking.

"Have you heard? That person from Konoha has been traveling all over the shinobi world lately," one said.

Hui blinked in surprise.

That person from Konoha…

It took him a moment to realize they were talking about him.

These shinobi referred to him simply as "that person," leaving Hui astonished.

"Yeah… he might make a move soon. Who knows what it'll be…" another said nervously. After all, he was a demigod of the shinobi world. If he wanted to act, who could possibly stop him?

"Haven't we signed a fifteen-year peace treaty with Konoha? That person shouldn't do anything dangerous, right?" one asked, though their tone betrayed uncertainty.

"Ugh, when will our village produce a demigod like that? The heavens are too biased toward Konoha!"

"Exactly. They have the best land, the most resources, and now so many geniuses. It's just unfair!"

Their conversation ended in a moment of silence.

Then someone else spoke: "Do you think Konoha's 'that person' will come to Kirigakure? He seems to have visited many places already."

"Who knows? But it's highly likely," another replied.

At those words, Hui could sense their bodies tense up.
