Records of Magic

Chapter 11: Book 1: Records of Magus Killer – Chapter 11 - Clearing and Con Art...

Several Weeks Later, Japan Imperial Hierarchy, somewhere on Futon Island.

After Kiritsugu gathered enough intel on the movements of the Toudou Aoba, his manners, customs, security, and layout of his mansion, he decided to carry out the assassination.

Futon Island was a relatively uninhabited place west of Osaka. Currently, it serves as the main HQ for the organization called Senate and also, and it was the home of the unofficial leader of the Senate, Toudou Aoba.

Unexpectedly, the entire Futon Island, aside from a few barriers, didn't have any kind of strong protection around it, and security was lax at best, as Kiritsugu saw only a few guards occasionally patrolling the Island for intruders.

But that was really rare.

They probably thought that because nobody knew about their existence and their HQ was located on some remote Island, they could do this. In the end, the Senate was an unknown organization to almost all, and they belonged to the category of the secret organizations that operated in the world.

Not many were aware of their existence, and even in Japan, only a handful of people knew about the existence of the Senate, and even fewer were aware of their true capabilities and their true strength.

A great mistake from the point of view of an experienced assassin, though he could still understand their sentiment, at least to a certain degree.

Thus, relatively easily and without any complications, Kiritsugu managed to enter Futon Island without anyone noticing.

His mission, aside from the primary goal of assassinating the Toudou Aoba, was to sneak into the meeting hall of the Senate and obtain sensitive documents that were stored there.

While Futon Island served as the HQ of the Senate, it only served such a purpose for their meeting.

Apparently, the other members of the Senate were wary of each other and didn't trust each other completely; thus, they avoided making some unified structure for their organization and prevented too much centralization of power.

The first target was the Ancestral Shrine of the Toudou Clan, located at the center of the Island, hidden, deep under the ground, under the mountains. It served as a place where the Toudou Clan researched Ancient Magic for countless generations.

Kiritsugu quickly located the entrance to the underground, and it was guarded only by two priests who were half-asleep already. He took out his enchanted combat knife as he sneaked up to them, as close as possible, without them noticing.

[Time Accel: Quadruple Accel]

He instantly cast his Time Acceleration spell, and within one second, a blur passed between two guardian monks as their throats were slit with the knife, and they lay on the ground bleeding to death.

To be sure, he took a small Magic Gem and dropped it on the bodies of two guardian monks; as the bodies disintegrated, not even the blood remained on the ground after the spell was finished with them.

After he disposed of the two guardian monks, he descended deeper into the cave complex, navigating there almost flawlessly with the help of the special magic spell for these situations until he slowly arrived at the Clan Compound of the Toudou Clan.

Or rather, he was very near, as some kind of protective barrier stopped him.

Kiritsugu took out the Magic Sequence Gem and threw it at the protective barrier; as soon enough, a small entrance appeared, and Kiritsugu directly entered the protected area.

After walking for ten minutes, he arrived at the Toudou Clan Compound. Kiritsugu quickly scanned the area and noticed the Toudou Clan Compound was located in the ravine in the huge underground.

After scanning the entire area, he quickly created a plan in his head before he headed to the Compound. Fortunately for him, the Toudou Clan Compound was completely empty, as the scanning spells showed, with only a life signature in something that seemed like a meditation room.

'So he is living here alone, without any servants... this could be either good or bad.'

Thought Kiritsugu as he took out several Magic Gem Sequences and cast their recorded spells on himself, which completely annulled any signs of sound, heat, or anything from him, making him in a perfect condition for the sneak attack.

He arrived at the open courtyard where the bald man in monk clothes was meditating under the sakura tree near the small pond filled with the koi fishes. The entire area seemed tranquil and had a calming effect on the mind.

Kiritsugu readied his mystic code and aimed at the Toudou Aoba, who was meditating there. As the bullet left his mystic code, suddenly, a translucent shield appeared before the Toudou Aoba, effectively blocking the incoming bullet.

Instantly, Kiritsugu used [Time Acceleration: Tripple Accell] and shot in an almost instant succession three bullets aimed at the different body parts of the Toudou Aoba.

As expected, the first one was completely blocked, and the second one that was aimed at his head was also blocked, but this time, the translucent shield was full of cracks.

Unfortunately for the odd monk, the third bullet broke through the shield, and his Toudou Aoba to his chest, piercing his lungs.

After several seconds, Toudou Aoba split a mouthful of blood and attempted to cast a spell at his attack, only to find that he couldn't manipulate the psions and pushions and cast any magic at all.

This was due to the bullets that Kiritsugu used.

They were the pinnacle of the Emyia Clan's research on the anti-magic.

They were bullets made from Dimeritium, which was made from Antinite ore and Obsidian Ore. Even casting the simplest spell was impossible when someone was even near the Dimiterium.

Magicians hit with Dimiterium meant death.

Emyia Clan made even weapons from the Dimeritium.

Unfortunately for the Emyia Clan, they had too few of the Dimeritium, as Antinite Ore was extremely precious and was very pricy, not to talk about Obsidian, which could be mined only from a certain location deep under the ground near active underground volcanoes.

Currently, the Yotsuba Clan was buying various lands and places where the Emyia Clan had information, Antinite Ore was located, and the same about Obsidian Ore.

Anti-Magic in the Magic Era was crucial to obtain supremacy. With the existence of the Anti-Magic in the Magic Era, one could render the Magicians virtually useless, because not many Magicians were skilled at the close combat.

An even lesser number of them did something to elevate their physical capabilities to a higher degree, something that was possible only for the Magicians who reached the High-Order in terms of the Psion Capacity.

Unfortunately, because the Earth's Magician Civilization was still very young, there were no proper methods for elevating someone's physical capabilities permanently. Though there were many that strived for such effect, one of them was obviously Jiego Heigu whose research was seized by the Yotsuba Clan during the Fall of Dahan.

Thus, the Dimeritium weaponry became one of the top priorities of the Yotsuba Clan.

Therefore, it wasn't that surprising to hear that other countries were trying their way around this; unfortunately for them, their research was pathetic to the knowledge of the Emyia Clan when it came to dealing with and killing magicians.

But that didn't make them any less dangerous, as they could still use refined Antinite Ore to make Antinite devices that jammed psion frequencies, making it either impossible or very hard to cast any Modern Magic.

And in some cases, it was able to affect even Inborn-Specialized abilities.

"You can already show yourself... Magus Killer."

Todou Aoba coughed some blood, as he stated with great difficulty, because he very well knew who was responsible for the successful assassination. He had to admit that he had grown pretty careless in the past years.

"Indeed, it was my own arrogance and overestimation of the Yotsuba's loyalty towards the Senate... perhaps the change of the Era changed something in the mindset of Genzou and others."

He continued his monologue as Kiritsugu didn't dispel the concealment spells as he waited for the Dimeritium to enter the final phase of effect.

He knew that after being hit with Dimeritium, it took some time for the Magician to be completely crippled, approximately 2 or 3 minutes for the Strategic-Class Magicians.

Thus, he was waiting for the bullet in Toudou's body to do the job before he would consider even talking with him. Emiya Kiritsugu was an especially experienced assassin who would never make any mistake and he would never underestimate his opponent.

Even in the state he is now; he could basically sacrifice his life to cast some spell on him, a risk he didn't want to undertake.

"Your Excellency Toudou Aoba, the times have changed, and it is time for the Yotsuba Clan to stand on the top of the food chain, be it in the light or in the darkness."

Kiritsugu said after time passed and the monk Todou Aoba was on the ground, barely hanging on the last bits of consciousness that still remained.

"I don't know if you noticed, Your Excellency, but times are going to be very different from what you have envisioned, from what all of us have envisioned. You know, during one of my endeavors at assassinating some mad cult leader, I found something pretty interesting."

Kiritsugu went to the dying Toudou Aoba as he canceled the disillusionment spells that were on him.

"Yout know that apparently... this thing... the Psionization, the resurgence of the Magic will attract the attention of far greater powers? Earth is not the sole planet within the vast Cosmos capable of giving birth to life, and it seems that the Psinization has attracted the attention of far more powerful beings in the emptiness of the Void."

The Magus Killer started retelling the story he heard, or rather, he obtained from one madman, yet that madman knew what was coming for them all.

"Our civilization is weak... even though all the sacrifices we made and the power we obtained, in some twisted sense of irony and fate, we are all doomed to extinction. Only through the power can we survive."

Kiritsugu explained the situation.

"Thus, a few of us, who were aware of this truth, created a plan... what if... what if we just managed to create a Gate to the Another World? Wouldn't it be that nice, extraordinary? It would be just like in those Isekai mangas... just this time, we would be moving the entire nation out there, to the new lands, to the new world with greater opportunities to grow."

He lit up a cigarette as the monk was looking at him intensively.

"Thus, we came to an agreement. At the first step, we will create a nation ruled by Magicians that would greatly enhance the power of the Magicians, focus on developing the Magic to the extreme and create countless powerhouses, allowing us to realize the Project Exodus."

He inhaled a puff of smoke as he spoke with a certain degree of sadness.

"And while I am a bit sad about the vision of my home planet being destroyed by the Demons of the Burning Crusade, monstrosities dwelling in the coldest and deepest parts of the Cosmos or any other ancient horrors, there is no other choice."

Earth was an unlucky planet...

"But, all of that needs to be done in secret; if this becomes public knowledge, it will cause armageddon far sooner, and our plans will be thwarted. In some sense, the legacy of the Senate would be used to push Japan and, by extension, Yotsuba Clan to a whole new level..."

Right now, only a very small group of people in the world knew what was the true goal of the Japanese Imperial Hierarchy.

That they would be performing a most extraordinary con art performed to obtain as many resources as possible, with a single goal.

Their aim was simple...

Strengthen the Hierarchy as much as possible, strengthen the Master Clans with the strongest Magician Bloodlines to limits, find a suitable planet within the Cosmos with a high Psion and Pushion density, the high Magic density and use the World Gate.

Relocating to that planet, escaping the inevitable destruction of the Earth.

Kiritsugu knew that Earth didn't have that much time before the world barrier cracked down, and times were short.
