Red Alert 2 Mental Omega: Wargirls Reincarnation

Chapter 16: Post combat headache - 16

Aqua POV

I smile brightly as I lay down on the outdoor bed, staring at the 3D hologram map of the entire operation. The hologram pulses faintly. Victory reports flash across the display, but my mind can't relax just yet.

Sure, there were some hiccups—like Gawr being too primal and eating ships. Then there's the problem both teams just reported in—apparently, we lack medical kits for prisoners of war.

To be fair, I don't even know how those medicines are made or what the procedure is. But I've got access to their database now, so how hard can it be?

Anyway, Hestia is on the field right now. I sent her team to handle cleanup.

I still not sure what to do with Prisoner of War.. as I really want them to convert to my side.. although the timing might be a bit bad.. as the war won't kick start in 5 years or so..

Oh yeah I got date now it is September 1977, around 5 years before Soviet start invasion of USA.

The Pearl Harbor base got captured by Pacific Front one of Allies subfaction instead of USA already..

I'm still unsure what to do with the prisoners of war. I really want them to convert to my side, although the timing might be bad since the war won't officially kick off for another five years or so.

Oh yeah, I've got the date now—it's September 1977, about five years before the Soviets start their invasion of the USA. The Pearl Harbor base was captured by the Pacific Front—one of the Allies' sub-factions—instead of the USA already.

So, consider this a double sabotage mission since the Pacific Front shouldn't control Pearl Harbor either.

Although the Stormchild is considered a USA plane, so this might be a research base for that black eagle project of Pacific Front or the plane will got sent to for more development somewhere else as I don't see any data on Black Eagle at all.

I could strike a deal with the Pacific Front's high command, but that would mean bringing the European Alliance into this too, since the Pacific Front has a joint research deal with them.

I wonder if cryo tech hasn't been invented yet? Searching through the data, I found a project called 'Hailstorm'...

"So it exists, but we're so far back it didn't come to life yet," I mutter as I open the file. Yep, it's the Pacific Front's siege engine—a bomber plane mounted on a truck. Basically, it's equipped with cryo bombs that freeze terrain, etc. It's currently being retrofitted in Australia to replace its original role as an anti-forest fire vehicle.

I mean, cryo tech can easily be retrofitted for war, so it's not that weird to see firefighting vehicles turned into siege engines.

Anyway, I wonder if I can make a tech deal in exchange for keeping this secret. I mean, the best way to ensure they keep the secret is to make them benefit from it too.

Deal with politics later—tech first.

I glance back at the 3D hologram map of the entire operation. The Fog's spire works as intended—actually, it works too well. I mean, if I were a normal person facing this, I would absolutely hate being in the fog.

I should build more Hestia-class units, though. I want to build more stuff around the base because I've got a plan in the works.

Actually, I did finish setting up the Strike Witches' airbase. And no, it still doesn't give me map access, although I now know that UAVs can replace it. Soon, satellites too.

Still each of Strike witches also needed Wisdom Cubes to awaken so it not worth it to build them early.

I look up at Amy, who's sitting near me on the bed along with Helena. "I need to go down and scale up research production to match the demand," I say as I stand up. Both Amy and Helena nod and follow me as I head toward the elevator.

so anyway I look up at Amy who sitting near my on the bed along with Helena.. "I gonna need to go down and scale up research production to match the demand" I said as I stand up and start walking to the elevator as both Amy nod and follow me same as Helena who walk on the other side of me following behind.

I miscalculated—a lot. I mean, sure, there were no civilian casualties, at least directly. But around 400 military personnel died, with approximately 3,000-ish injured. So, first priority—medkits.

The elevator dings, and we step inside. Amy and Helena follow behind me.

"Don't think too hard on yourself, Aqua-chan. Your face looks like an old lady's with your brow furrowed like that. You'll get wrinkles," Amy says, placing her hands on my forehead and gently massaging it. Fine, no bad thoughts.

"Fine…" I mutter. My designer app is still empty—I'm too busy thinking about how to claim territories and somehow shut the Pacific Front up. A trade deal should work, right? Since they also went behind the USA's back. Or I could just tell the USA and collaborate with them.

I sigh again. I hate politics, especially when I don't know how to play them.

ding…

The elevator doors slide open. I step through and will my nanoswarm to expand the research boxes area and double the amount.

("Terra, can you lead the team outside to build more reactors? Make it 100 stacks in the chasm. Nothing's going to pierce through the fog and all those defenses this early into the war.") I send the message to my support model, who handles construction tasks.

("Affirmative, commander," she replies.)

I start creating eight more research boxes, effectively doubling the research output. This should be enough scaling for the week.

I assign all eight of them to work on creating functioning medkits that can be injected via nanoswarms. Wait—change the name of the research.

[Research Box #9~16 'Medical Nanoswarms' Estimated time: 1 second]

['Medical Nanoswarms' research complete.]

"I forgot how insane the research speed of these boxes is, and I used eight of them," I sigh. I update all blueprints and send them to the Wargirls who know how to use nanoswarms. Nice, we've got medkits now, as now all nanoswarms can create biology replacement on atomic level. This means that even severe injuries like a melted hand can be repaired, reversing the effects of aging as we just need to create new cells so really lot of benefit.

The super graviton laser still needs two more hours to complete. Actually, let me check on the Spy Satellite research. I'm pretty sure getting the actual blueprint of the Mercury laser satellite should help with that.

[Research Box #4 'Spy Satellite' Estimated time left: 2 months]

That's a 10-month reduction in time. Still, I wonder why it costs two months to research. My guess? It's probably due to limited resources up there, so it has no way to repair itself. And not being able to repair itself is something I can't agree with, especially for something as important as a satellite.

I turn back toward the elevators. "I should really create more T-Dolls to station at the base, huh?" I say to myself. I can build one more residential building and fill around 20 spots—15 for support models and 5 for combat models. I want to see some semblance of daily life, like people eating meals or something. And I'm not just going to rely on nanoswarms to create food. That's why I went to such lengths to set up vertical farms.

Amy grabs my hand and drags me inside the elevator again. Fine, this should let me focus on designing.

Now I can finally do what I love and not worry about politics or anything else.

From the data I've gathered, the first thing I want to investigate is Stormchild. Honestly, I expected to find the Black Eagle, but this isn't a bad find either. For context, 'Stormchild' is a USA-exclusive aircraft. Now, let's strip off its laser system—it can only melt fragile aircraft, so it's not worth it. Missiles? Nope, not as powerful as what we have. VTOL system? Now that's what I want to study. Also, I can't remember if it was the Black Eagle or Stormchild, but one of the two was invisible to radar, which would be helpful for creating a superior fighter craft.

Her name's already chosen—born from my love of General's series and countless depictions in games and real life. Her name is 'F-22 Raptor.' She never existed in this world—but I'll make one.

I giggle and smile at the thought. She's going to be one of the bloodthirsty ones.

Back to Storm Child.. her cross section seem to replicate real life, actually can't I just do this, I brought up the research box interface, navigating to sections 9 through 16, and quickly typed in a query:

[Research Box 9~16: 'Sensors nullify hull layout' - 1 hour]

"I mean, sure, it's a large concept," I muttered. "But with this, I can slap stealth hull designs on absolutely any Kansen, Strike Witches, Tank Girls, and maybe even T-Dolls now that I think about it. So, one hour of wait time? Worth it."

The elevator dinged, signaling our arrival at the ground floor. Amy led me outside toward the park.

As we walked, I willed my nanoswarms to queue up another 20 T-Dolls in the barracks. At the same time, I deployed swarms to construct another residential building to the right of the first one.

"Master? You're doing a lot of construction work today?" Helena asked, glancing at the flowing nanoswarms busily assembling the structure a few hundred meters away.

"Yeah. I want this base filled with life, so more people means more progress. Although... I'm going to need to start making Tank Girls soon. Otherwise, the dormitories will end up filled with T-Dolls and Kansen, with only a few Strike Witches to balance things out." I saved my unfinished plane design, deciding to wait until the 'sensors nullify' research was completed before continuing.

Why did it feel like I was playing creative mode with how much scaling I could do? And why did it feel like the hammer was going to drop even harder later on?

I shake my head and shifted my focus toward the docks. The Hestia-class MCV was finished, though I still needed to wait another 10 to 20 minutes for the next Wisdom Cube.

Anyway I look at the dock, the Hestia-class MCV finished just need to wait a few 10 to 20 mins for another wisdom cube..

Should I excavate more underground and expand the complex by another 10 x 10 square kilometers? The fog already covered 12 square kilometers around the base, so going overboard seemed reasonable.

That would be a project for tomorrow. Also, I really needed to visit Pearl Harbor. Sure, I could laze around the base, but I wanted to see the railgun launch site being built.

From a sci-fi nerd's perspective, having either a space elevator or an easily accessible surface-to-orbit launcher was a dream come true. Even though I bypassed most of the requirements for such launchers by not being human, humans just couldn't handle high G-forces like I could.

I shook my head to refocus. Where was I? Right—waiting for research to finish, so I hadn't started any new designs yet.

"Let's move to the second design," I muttered. "Time to design Tank Girls."

Back to Tank Girls. I needed something versatile. The Kappa tank design came to mind—essentially a hover tank with thrusters replacing traditional treads. The Pacific Front used it, so it had to be optimized for fuel efficiency to maintain lift.

Then there was the 'Zephyr Artillery.' One of my favorites, mainly due to its range. It was light on armor to accommodate its targeting systems, but its support power let it snipe across maps. The 120mm Howitzer was impressive, especially for 1977-era tech rivaling artillery from my past life.

But how could I top this design? Lasers didn't have bullet drop—just energy beams. Missiles seemed more versatile, especially since Rupture used them so effectively. She could fill the role of a tank easily with her adaptability on land. Still, I was stubborn and wanted my Tank Girls to complete the set.

A hover missile tank. That was the idea for now. But what about an IFV? Honestly, I wanted the 'Battle Tortoise' blueprint, but we hadn't encountered one at Pearl Harbor yet.

Why did visualizing this unit feel so hard?

As we reached the gazebo, I dropped onto the outdoor bed.

Poof.

"Soft... and fluffy," I said, willing my nanoswarms to create a pillow for my head. I glanced up to see the residential building finished. Good.

Now, why did I want Tank Girls again? Land logistics. That was the main reason. Kansen were designed for water, so their top speeds couldn't be achieved on land, even in humanoid form. Tank Girls, meanwhile, could support long campaigns on large stretches of land without water. That meant we couldn't transmute water into resources like Kansen and would need to harvest resources manually, just like in an actual mission.

The first problem was limited resources. I had logistic subs and dropships, but why not go bigger? Something larger than a super-heavy tank.

I loved small tanks for their low profiles and speed, especially against enemies still using shells instead of smart missiles. Though, to be fair, they already used both. Weird.

Humanoid forms canceled out size issues, and I could add lots of thrusters. Land cruiser time? No, not the car. I meant the German concept of a land ship with battleship turrets mounted on a tank.

For my version: multiple treads—8 in total, like NASA's crawler. Slow but proven. I could skip thruster-based hovering or robotic legs, which were vulnerable to EMPs. I'd still add retractable thrusters for some terrains that required lift or extra mobility.

Anyway, back to sizing. I think 50 meters in length, 25 meters in width, and 20 meters in height should be enough. I mean, it's even larger than the land cruiser concepts from my last life—at least the ones I knew of.

I'm definitely going to put a fog spire on her. Avalon laser cannons—no, wait, two Avalon laser cannons—and at least four PD graviton lasers. Yeah, that should work, one at each corner.

Why do I feel like I'm making an Arm Fort? Well, it's still a lot smaller than actual Arm Forts, so maybe that'll be a project for later. I mean, having an Arm Fort attacking Omega Devices would be a lot of fun.

Back to the topic—this tank's going to act like a forward base on tracks. It'll have 8 nanoswarm deployers inside, just half of Hestia's MCV capability. The other half will be resource storage. As for the engine…?

How the heck do Fleet of Fog engines even work? I sighed, feeling a gentle pat on my head. I looked up to see Amy and smiled. "Thanks," I said. No need to overthink things.

So, what I'll do is add more engines. Sure, I could scrap the whole engine and learn how it works, but I'll wait for the research boxes to finish so I don't waste time doing the research myself.

Anyway, four engines should be enough to power 8 treads, along with the rest of what I'm putting on top. Back to the topic—barracks package, a few bunk beds, and 2 repair bays. I'll also add a few Union cores for computational power. I mean, this tank's going to act as a forward base on the land front, so it might as well have the ability to deploy and survey with its own UAV. Then Armor lot and lot of armor, I know it gonna have Shield but I want something that can tank super weapon.

What's next? A launch pad? I mean, a Strike Witches landing zone—yeah, going to need those. Then two graviton missile launchers. Don't want to put too much on a tank; missiles are expensive compared to lasers, especially when we don't have access to unlimited resources.

Oh, also airtight design for underwater mode. Specifically, it should sink to the bottom, and the treads should still work.

As I hit 'generate':

"$40,000?! That's not even x10… Wow, expensive," I groaned, looking at the cost. That would nearly wipe out half of the existing resources we had. Sure, I'd get nearly a billion when I excavated the 10x10 square-kilometer underground, so I might be able to afford a few tanks during this week but I can't really spamming this tank over and over.

I mean, she's going to lead the team. With the design she's based on, it's obvious she'll lead the team. She can even build her own T-Doll since she counts as barracks.

Anyway, she looks a bit mid—about 170 cm in height not the tallest good, D-cup apparently. I mean, I did put a lot of armor on her and that count toward breasts size. She's got a full black coat commander outfit. I want that outfit—let me copy that. Okay, back to her look. Golden eyes and golden hair. She looks menacing and somehow has this golden aura. Definitely blonde—or golden blonde. She's going to be named 'Victory.' I mean, she looks perfect for that name.

As I felt another headpat, I looked up. "The Wisdom Cube is finished, Master~," Helena said, holding the glowing cube. Did she go down to get the Wisdom Cube for me? "Thank you. Time to awaken another Hestia to do some excavation then." I said as I rolled out of the outdoor bed and stood up while stretching.

"Ahh," I groaned a little as I looked back at Amy. She was slowly creeping down from the bed. Good thing T-Dolls don't get stiff legs, or I was pretty sure she'd have them after sitting next to me through the whole design phase.

"Let's go," I said, grabbing the Wisdom Cube and starting toward the shipyard.
