Reicarnated as a Hyuga in the Warring States Period

Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Mighty Healer

This time to travel he disguised himself as a wandering medical ninja. His objective was double: improve his medical expertise and create connections with ninja clans.

He traveled for a month through the Land of Lightning to reach a coastal city where he could book a passage to the Land of Water. It took so long because he decided to travel by foot, enjoying the scenery and helping out who he met along the journey.

The trip was unfortunately uneventful so wasn't able to start establishing his medical reputation.

He safely reached the coastal town but he noticed that he lacked the funds to board a ship. So he simply sneaked into one undetected. After all, it wasn't a crime if you were not caught.

He safely reached the Land of Water.

His objective in the land of water was to find capable blacksmiths. In particular, he was interested in the seven legendary swords of the Mist and their creators. In particular, he was interested in Kiba for its lightning properties, Samehada for his chakra absorption and living capabilities, and Hiramekarei for his ability to store chakra.

He started wandering the Land of Water trying to make himself famous as an unaffiliated healer.

At the beginning, many scoffed at him. But when you were in a conflict-filled period with few healing options you would rely on what you found.

He only asked as compensation for a little money and to spread the word of his deeds. The word about Hijiri, the Mighty Healer, spread. Both about how he healed anyone who asked and how he dealt with those who tried to take advantage of him.

Some clans had the idea to kidnap him to make him their private healer. They didn't have a good end. Hijiri crippled their strongest fighters and made them pay a steep price to heal them back.

Like so he maintained a reputation as one who doesn't kill and also made the various clans think twice before offending him.

Three years later his name was known in all the Land of Water and even some ninjas in other lands heard of him. His reputation was so great that no one dared to mess with him. If someone did, Hijiri didn't even have to move a finger before ninjas of other clans intervened to curry his favor.

At this point, Hijiri was losing hope in finding the location of the seven swords and their craftsmen. He had kept ears open about the appearance of strange swords but without success.

In the end, he started actively asking around which were the best blacksmiths. For a while all the leads brought him to this or that blacksmith who apparently made the finest kunais, shurikens, senbons, or normal swords.

Only after starting looking into legends and hearsays did he find something interesting. The Shio Blacksmith Clan. A normal blacksmith clan who used to collect rare materials that no one knew how to work with or what their uses were. Between the materials was an ore that absorbed blood and a lightning chakra metal that couldn't be smelted.

That was it. Those two were probably the resources for the Executioner's Blade and Kiba.

Hijiri took notice of the location of that clan and then stealthily moved toward their location. Many eyes were keeping track of his movements and he didn't want to attract attention before he accomplished his goal.
