Wenwu's body was drained by the fungal mass and then incinerated into ashes by the heat rays.
All that remained were the Ten Rings, lying silently on the scorched black rocks.
Even though the surrounding soil had been ravaged by the heat, the ten rings remained untouched by dust.
However, their mystical glow had faded, leaving them looking like ordinary metal bands.
Lyon bent down, picked up the rings, and gently wiped them clean.
Tony leaned in for a closer look. "Why aren't they glowing like lightbulbs anymore?"
"Is there some kind of hidden switch somewhere?"
"Or maybe they're touch or voice-activated?" Tony joked, clearly trying to lighten the mood.
"Voice-activated? Do you think the Ten Rings are some kind of household appliance?" Lyon chuckled.
"They're controlled by thought, just like your fungal mass!"
"Watch this!" Lyon's gaze sharpened, and he effortlessly connected with the Ten Rings.
The seemingly ordinary metal rings began to emit a dazzling light.
But unlike when they were in Wenwu's possession, this time they radiated a platinum glow, like ten diluted suns, orbiting around Lyon.
"What does it feel like?" Tony asked, his curiosity piqued by the rings that were capable of rivaling his own armor.
"I can sense a massive energy circulating within them. Hmm? This energy is starting to enhance me!"
Lyon spread his hands, and his body naturally began to levitate.
The Ten Rings encircled him, pulsating rhythmically like a glowing halo.
A few seconds later, Lyon landed back on the ground, seemingly unimpressed by the enhancement.
"Unfortunately, the enhancement level isn't very strong. My strength only increased by about one percent."
Tony's eyes widened. "One percent? Twenty thousand tons? Or forty thousand tons? These rings can boost someone's strength by that much?"
"My single-arm strength increased by about twenty thousand tons. And this probably isn't even their limit—it's just that my compatibility with them isn't high." Lyon manipulated the rings to fit around his wrists.
"Then Wenwu's compatibility must have been ridiculously low. His strength was only a few dozen tons."
"That's different. My physical attributes are already far superior, allowing me to contain more of their energy."
Lyon turned the rings on his wrist. "The Ten Rings amplified Wenwu's physical strength by hundreds of times. It's possible he was even more suited for them than I am."
"Aside from enhancing physical abilities, the Ten Rings can also grant a prolonged, potentially eternal lifespan."
"Wait, are you serious? Eternal? You're not joking?" Tony asked, clearly in disbelief.
"Of course, it's true. Didn't Wenwu live for centuries without dying? Though, at the moment, I don't feel any change in my lifespan."
"Could it be because you're still young?"
"Maybe."
Lyon shrugged.
"But these weapons, their most terrifying power actually lies in their raw destructive potential."
He suddenly threw a punch toward the sea.
The ten rings aligned in a straight line, shooting out like javelins.
The sea before them was instantly split in two, waves surging more than ten meters high, exposing the seabed in the nearshore area.
"That's the true power of these rings."
Lyon hadn't used his own strength in that strike; it was purely the destructive force of the Ten Rings.
With a motion of his wrist, the ten rings flew back and wrapped around his forearm once more.
The divided sea gradually closed up again.
Countless droplets collided and shattered into fine mist, splashing across the shallows like a light rain.
Tony's eyes lit up. "I suddenly have a bold idea!"
"You want to integrate the Ten Rings into your armor?" Lyon immediately caught onto Tony's train of thought.
The Ten Rings might actually suit Tony's Fungus God Armor quite well.
To Lyon, this armor bore a striking resemblance to the Symbiote Armor from an alternate comic version of Tony.
While its current combat power might still be slightly lacking, its potential was undoubtedly enormous.
If the Ten Rings were integrated and their full power unleashed, Tony might be able to elevate the Fungus God Armor to something akin to the Celestial Armor seen in the comics.
"Not a bad idea. Here, these were originally your spoils of war. Try and see if you can use them."
Lyon controlled the Ten Rings, sending them to hover in front of Tony.
Wenwu's assault could entirely be credited to Tony's own strength in overcoming it.
Lyon, on the other hand, had merely played the role of a spectator, at most dealing with a few annoying grunts along the way.
So it wasn't far-fetched to consider the Ten Rings as Tony's spoils for defeating Wenwu.
When a hero defeats a villain, it's only natural for some loot to drop for leveling up, right?
"Why even test it?"
Tony eagerly took the Ten Rings and slid them onto his arms.
"Let's see how well they match me. I bet it'll be a perfect 100%!"
Clenching his fists with excitement, he declared, "Lyon, I'm about to become Superman! Haha!"
It was clear Tony secretly dreamed of using the Ten Rings to create an anti-Superman suit of armor.
"Alright!" He mustered all his strength, attempting to control the Ten Rings.
But the rings didn't budge.
"Hah!!" He flexed his back muscles, imagining his energy flowing into the rings.
Still, nothing happened.
Now starting to get frustrated, Tony crouched slightly and gave it everything he had:
"Ahhhhh!!!"
His shout echoed across the coastline.
"..."
Tony looked like an obsessed otaku imitating a Super Saiyan transformation while shirtless.
But aside from his voice growing increasingly strained, the Ten Rings remained unresponsive.
"…Shit!"
Tony's face was flushed red from yelling so much. Finally giving up, he stood up, gasping for air.
Whether it was from embarrassment or oxygen deprivation, he felt his face burning hot.
He was confused.
He had clearly seen Lyon control the Ten Rings so effortlessly just moments ago.
"Could it be I don't have compatibility?" Tony frowned as he looked at the rings in his hands.
Lyon offered a suggestion, "Why don't you try a different approach?"
"How?" Tony blinked, puzzled.
"Maybe different people have different ways to use the Ten Rings. Why don't you try shouting 'Magical Girl Transformation' while connecting with them?"
Tony's face darkened. "Are you serious? Forget it. You can have them. A boost of 20,000 tons, after all, is still something."
Lyon shook his head and declined, "I don't need them. What can 20,000 tons even do? You keep them and figure it out."
"Figure it out… That's it! We'll go back to the fortress and try high-frequency currents!"
Tony's face lit up as a new idea struck him.
"I refuse to believe I can't find a way to use these Ten Rings!"
"If I really can't use them, I'll melt them down in the fortress!"
Tony slapped a new Arc Reactor onto his chest. The MycoArmor formed around him as he took off into the sky.
Lyon chuckled, shaking his head. "Don't do that. Maybe the rings need a specific mindset to resonate! At least try shouting 'Magical Girl Transformation' first!"
"Shut up!" Tony growled as he flew toward the fortress.
Over the next few days of experimentation, it turned out Lyon's teasing suggestion wasn't entirely off the mark.
When trying to get the Ten Rings to resonate for the first time, Tony discovered it indeed required a calm and stable emotional state.
To put it awkwardly, it required the dao of "supreme goodness like water."
Once the initial resonance was established, controlling them became much easier—just a thought was enough to command them.
Tony spent several days complaining about this discovery. "Seriously? A weapon that requires me to be emotionally balanced to work? Who designs this stuff!"
...
While Tony was locked in his battle with Wenwu, on the other side of the globe, Nick Fury—currently under government supervision—wasn't sitting idly by.
Even without internet access or communication with the outside world, Fury, as always, had his own intelligence sources.
He had to uncover Superman's true identity.
Such an unknown and mysterious powerhouse posed an undeniable threat to Earth!
However, after a week, Fury's informants still hadn't provided any useful leads.
Instead, the focus shifted to Tony Stark, the man Fury had once recommended for leadership.
Following a thorough background check conducted by the Security Council, a detailed report about Tony had been delivered to Fury.
Along with it came a directive: he was required to read the report carefully.
"Oh wow… spending the night with seven cover models at once? Our new director really is charming, huh?"
Nick Fury casually flipped through Tony's report, clearly not taking it too seriously.
