3 days later...

Today is the first day Erunk is going personally, to hunt for food. I was really excited, since Erunk just used to scare his underlings, to bring more food. Erunk went hunting with at least 20 other goblin's, which is not very good for me. I need Erunk to use me to kill and the kills from the other goblin's don't benefit me in any way. We slowly wandered deeper into the forest in search of prey, however we suddenly encountered a dangerous situation.

HOOOOOWL*

At this moment we heard a threatening wolf howl. The goblin's immeaditly readied themselves for battle. They stood infront of Erunk to protect him from suprise attacks with their body's. Erunk looked excited despite the situation. He probably thought it wouldn't be so hard winning against that wolf.

Out of the woods came a wolf even bigger then Erunk, which was being followed by 5 other wolves. The big wolf had dark grey fur, while the following wolves behind him had light grey fur. When Erunk saw, that the wolf wasn't alone he looked slightly cautios.

GROOOOOWL* GROOOOWL* GROOOWL*

The wolves growling sounded very deep and aggressive. I guessed that they are angry that the goblin's invaded their territory.

-"Finally some action!" I thought.

-"Appraisal."

-"It looks like the wolves, individuality, are stronger then the goblin's, however the goblin's have the advantage in numbers. For every wolf there are atleast 4 more goblin's."

The wolves started surrounding the goblin's. Everything was silent, both the goblin's and wolves stared at each other to find a good opportunity to attack. Suddenly a wolf jumped directly on a goblin and started to bite him. 4 goblin's immeadiatly started hitting the wolf with their wood clubs. This attack triggered a chain reaction and chaos broke out in the battlefield.

Blood splattered everywhere. You could hear the screaming of goblin's and whimpering of wolves on the whole battlefield. Everywhere you would look you would see a fierce life or death fight. Even me who has trained his whole life was a little taken back by the brutality of this fight. Unfortunatly I didn't have time to recollect myself, since Erunk and 3 other goblin's started heading to Lebrante.
 
Lebrante growled in a deep tone to threaten them. The goblin's looked a little frightened but still walked forward to fight him. When the goblin's and the wolf were only 3 meter apart, it suddenly jumped on top of a goblin and bit his shoulder. A huge chunk of flesh and blood were ripped out and blue blood squirted out of the wound onto the wolves snout. The goblin's lifted their wooden clubs and hit Lebrante with them. It didn't look like it was doing much damage, even under such a siege of goblin's the wolf didn't look frightened. Actually it was the opposite the wolf looked more angry.
 
-"Can the goblin's really win this?" I asked myself.
 
The wolf lifted his claw and hit a goblin, which was attacking him. Normal people wouldn't have noticed but since I trained all my life, I saw that the claw looked like it was covered in darkness right before it hit the goblin.
 
-"Is this the "Dark Claw" skill?"
 
2 of the goblin's were already heavily injured but the wolf was at most pissed of. Finally Erunk joined in the fight and cut the wolf on the back, which caused the first real wound on him.

The wolf turned to Erunk and attacked him with it's "Dark Claw". Erunk quickly blocked the attack with me.

The wolves claw was injured from Erunk's block. Lebrante's attack obviously did damage to my durability but since I was a weapon and out of metal I didn't get as much damage as an living thing would. Erunk lifted me again and attacked Lebrante, which the latter quickly dodged. Lebrante was far faster then Erunk so he used the opportunity, from dodging Erunk's slash, to bite his leg. Lebrante used his "Dark Bite" skill and ripped a chunk of flesh from Erunk's thigh out.

This was obviously a very threatening wound to Erunk, since it would massively hinder his mobility and slow him down. I considered if I should heal Erunk, since these wolves couldn't wield me and I didn't want to wait again for someone to pick me up, but decided not to do so for now. If he really is about to lose I would consider it again.
 
Erunk screamed out of pain but despite his wound he quickly attacked Lebrante. While the wolf was preoccupied with the chunk of flesh. He hit the side of Lebrante's body, which caused a deep wound.

Due to the abruptness of this attack Lebrante didn't have the time to dodge the second slash that was coming his way and was hit again.

Both of them were already heavily injured and it looked like the end was nearing. I was a little suprised since it looked like Erunk had the advantage even though he was lower level, nevertheless when I thought about it I quickly found the reason for this. The reason for this suprising advantage was:
 
ME! Yes you heard right it's ME! Think about it. Erunk was armed with a weapon, while Lebrante only had it's body to fight. This was a clear advantage Erunk had and together with his skill "Swordsplay" he became even strong enough to push back opponents of higher level. Despite that it still wasn't easy fighting a opponent of higher level, which you can see from the wound on his thigh.
 
Lebrante swiped his "Dark Claw" and was fast enough to cause a claw wound on Erunk's chest.

Erunk let out a small scream and quickly slashed twice at Lebrante which caused wounds on Lebrante's face.

One of the two slashes even hit his right eye and blinded him. Lebrante was already at death's door and it didn't look good for him. I quickly used my "Appraisal" to determine how much HP he had left.

-"It look like he used a lot of MP in this fight and his "Dark Bite" leveled up."

I concluded that he had no way of winning and was already excited at the EP this kill would give me, since Lebrante was 27 level over mine. However at death's door something happened that even I didn't expect. Lebrante, with the last strenght in his body leaped into the air right on Erunk's arm and ripped out his left arm, using "Dark Bite". In the same second Erunk quickly reacted and stabbed through Lebrante's  whole body with me.

Erunk let out a devestating roar, while Lebrante just whimpered quietly before taking his last breath and dying. The other battles already finished leaving only 2 heavily injured goblin's. The battlefield looked so gruesome and brutal that any normal person would be traumatised. The ground is covered in blue and red blood, wherever you look you would see corpses, brutally beaten up or corpses full of bite and claw marks. Limbs are scattered across the battlefield with fresh blood still flowing out of them.

Erunk barely survived with 55 HP and slowly limped toward the direction of the cave, while the other 2 goblin's slowly followed him. While we were on the way to the cave I finally had the time to check out my system log.
