Chapter 5: : Fragments Are Annoying
Guess who's back- Drago and he's opening with a new chapter of Reincarnated as a battleship.
Get you snacks as dive in to the world of monster's vs a super battleship.
More notes at the end.
*edit, I'm gonna complain if Inkstone keeps on deleting the paragraph spaces.

Monsters are creatures who've evolved and overcome many disasters to become what they are, the peak strength of their respective species.
Each species was designed to be more adapted to a specific thing as they use it as means of defence, but there are those who can use more than 2 abilities, but what's the use of all of this if you were the only one of your species.
The only man-made object to be alive in that monster world. The sole species of the battleship type is none other than Haruka who is the wielder/embodiment of the Yamato-class super battleship.
After coming fresh off her almost defeat at the jaws of a prehistoric animal, she decided that it wasn't time to fool around which is why she got the Mk-50 Phoenix rotating guns as she thought that these would be better than a single barrel auto loader from an AEGIS destroyer or something like that.
The colour scheme of these guns was similar to her current colour scheme that was a few shades darker than grey but it wasn't the colour that changed, it her gun arrangement.
All of her AA were gone but to fill that she had to get 8 in total (4 on each side) and 2 extra secondary's (one on each side). This was okay as she remembered some designs of a modern Yamato that had 6 on each side, if she were to do that, she would get a memory overload as there would be too many sources of information. (but not enough Dakka)
As these thoughts continued in her head, her healed body continued straight ahead as the number of forests were declining giving her more viewing space but the ground was also starting to tilt and this made her previous statement of tilt angles can't affect her null and void, as her speed reduced from 24 knot to 18 knots as she continued her plough up the slope.
This meant that she had more time to kill, from boredom, thus she decided to gain some experience using these experimental turrets. First, she swiveled the turrets around as it was similar experience to her other guns, next was targeting and aiming.
Since these were modern guns, they would have had a leap in targeting systems, right?
WRONG!!
It seemed that these turrets were modified to fit the current tech level of her ship and this made her feel like crusading the goblins again as she had thought and believed that these new turrets would help her but no, they were just the same as her other turrets with optical sensors.
She felt scammed to the highest degree but this was something she couldn't just ask for a refund like that time her phone broke on her, but she still had warranty.
Aiming using the same scopes similar to her main and secondary guns she lined up with an imaginary monster and felt the turret come to life as the barrel rotated to life.
At first it was slow until it really picked up speed to its operational limit and now there was only one thing left.
FIRE!
Her sights lined up with a bunch of trees in the distance, the wind quieted down as the sun peeked from the clouds illuminating the surrounding areas with its golden light and warmth.
DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA
A continuous bang sound from the 4 turrets as round after round was pumped out at a high rate. The pressure wave generated could be seen in the air as a hail of shells spewed out of the barrels and the recoil of the 4 combined turrets cracked the ground near the ship as even the hull of the mighty Yamato was pushed sideways slightly.
The shells glowed with a yellow light as they pierced the air at over Mach 2, giving its distinct whistle as a roar as it covered the distance to its targets fast and 4 small wings extended from the tip and the end of the shell as it hurtled through the air.
In less than 5 seconds it hit its targets continuously as multiple explosions occurred when the shells impacted the trees.
Yes, these were HE shells that were fired, multiple colours of orange, red and white occurred as a stream of shells soared into the trees, the pressure wave could be seen burst outwards as multiple shells exploded detonating their charges and leaving a raging fire, destruction and a lot of dust.
But you may ask, won't these pressure wave affect the still incoming shells, the answer no. Those wings that were deployed helped the shell greatly with stability and with its tip so sharp it sliced through the pressure waves like butter and continued to their target without any problems from the pressure waves until they hit their target. (FTD APFSDS be like)
A silence surrounded the battleship as the turrets stopped firing and the barrels slowed down their rotation until they came to a complete stop, a stream of grey smoke and steam travelled from the barrels upwards into the atmosphere as Haruka waited for the kicked-up smoke to disappear and see what kind of damage was made.
As the dust settled, she got a glimpse of the damage made and what she saw shocked her.
The group of say 100 or so giant trees were reduced to only a handful but even those were on the brink of collapse, the destruction her new guns had was simply great, it was better than her secondary's which would make this one of her best upgrades.
She returned the turrets to their original position as she increased her engine output to flank speed as she slowly ascended up the great mountain which would have made MT Everest look like a baby compared to it.
As her ship slowly escaped the forest biome, she entered a bamboo area if her Geography was right. A few birds that were the size of a main turret flew over her in a flock that formed the icon V shape.
Their calls echoed across the mountain range as she ploughed into the new biome which would have held new challenges for her.
As she painstakingly made her way up the mountain, she decided to release 2 spotter planes as she still wanted to test the range of these new barrels.
As the 2 spotters were prepped, a deep rumble could be heard echoing throughout the mountain. This made Haruka curious as she looked around before she spotted a giant thunderstorm behind her in the distance.
Like with everything in this world, the thunder storm was huge rivalling a hurricane in size but this cloud wasn't spinning in any way. This fact made her sweat, if she could, just imagining what a hurricane would look like in this world but facing the current situation she knew she didn't have long before her planes were grounded.
She quickly launched the planes as she switched to their view and immediately pitching her plane upward to go to their effective height before she could pick a suitable target.
The spotter's engine droned throughout the mountain as multiple animals looked at the source of this buzzing curiously. Multiple birds even flew along them to look at these weird creatures that don't even flap their wings.
After getting enough of these creatures from another world the birds flew away one after another as they cawed at each other before going in a direction but away from the approaching thunder storm.
Haruka piloted the 2 planes further away from the ship until she remembered a piece of info she saw from Wikipedia.
The range of a similar 203mm barrels of a modern us turret could fire to a range of 29 km as its effective range.
If she ever had a mouth she would be smiling right now as she just so happened to pick the best upgrade.
She pushed the planes to their limit in terms of speed until she felt that she was far enough from the ship to do a bombardment. Quickly choosing a chunk of giant rock, that looked like a statue, as the target before she switched her view to the ship where her right turrets were already prepped to fire.
She could feel the target's aura in a sense and the location which made it easy for her to adjust the barrels to fire as they begun revving up.
A hot second later and they reached operational speed, with the target locked on she only had one thing left to do.
A brief flash occurred before a stream of bullets ejected out the barrels of each turret and climbed up into the air as they left out a shrill roar as they cut through the air.
The ground cracked again as more shells were pushed out the barrels into the air as they glowed yellow from the sunlight illuminating the area.
The shells continued upwards until they reached their max height before they quickly begun to descend at a mad rate, a layer of compressed air formed on the tip before a muffled roar sound in the area as the shells passed the sound barrier. The kinetic energy in them increased to their full potential as the ground quickly closed in before a boom followed by multiple more as a hail of bullets rained down on the target.
From the spotters, Haruka could see the accuracy of these guns were simply mindboggling, able to keep the dispersion small equals to a large number of shells hitting the intended target as only a tiny few hit the area around the stone.
This also showed that the turrets had a distance rivalling her main turrets if she wasn't using a spotter, that is.
From her view these new weapons were absolutely amazing, if she wanted to survive then she needed this to do so.
A crackle of thunder reached her ears, wherever they were on the plane, making her look towards the oncoming thunderstorm which suddenly become bigger all of a sudden.
Seeing the oncoming danger, she quickly dropped altitude and made way for her ship that was slowing down to pick up the spotters.
Again, she still had those stupid floaters on so each landing was very bumpy again and in the first landing she was turned 90 degrees in less than one second by a rock which was saying something as she weighed some tons and for a rock to stop her made her wonder what types of rocks these were.
Following the landing, her ship sailed ever so slowly and picked up the two spotters and continued with its journey once the 2 planes were on board and within their hangars.
An even louder crackle of thunder was heard as the storm was now bearing on them, the winds picked up, swaying the giant leaves of the bamboo look alike as the Battleship continued through the mountain.
If we move in front and look back on the battleship, we see a beautiful of the green-grey clods above it and some bolts of lightning here and there striking the forest far way.
As the thunder bore down upon the mountain, we switch view to a place further east of where Haruka was, we see an even thicker bamboo forest but within the forest we can see multiple animals run out of it and birds rise high in the air as they frantically tried evading danger as their calls echoed for a long-range warning the animals.
Deep within the forest we could see nothing but pure destruction, every bamboo in its path was cut down as it bolted forward to see the commotion it heard some minutes prior.
This strange beast, continued at full speed until it reached a large crater which it effortlessly jumped over, revealing its figure to the entire world.
Its grey-black fur glimmered in the remaining sunlight as its front paw touched the other side of the crater with a loud thump. As its full weight bore down on the ground, it started cracking under its immense weight, as its head lifted up into the sky before letting an air rippling howl,
A-Wooooooooooo
Its howl sounded throughout the area, possibly even the mountain as it announced its presence to the animals of this mountain, The Wolf King had arrived.
Its grey eyes looked at the crater before it before a loud growl sounded from it. He was furious as this piece of land held a very sacred thing that was there for millennia.
It growls as it made the ground slightly tremble as it remembered the once beautiful structure to its god, Fenrir, the immortal wolf king. But now there was nothing but a giant crater in its place, someone had destroyed it and that someone was now going to feel the wrath of the wolf king. (botem bote strikes again!!)
The wolf let an ear-piercing roar that echoed throughout the mountain, the air visibly rippled at the power of its roar, the wind picked up into a roar as well mirroring the roar of the wolf. When it finished, the wolf sniffed at the crater as it smelled a number of different things it wasn't familiar with.
It mainly smelled gunpowder and scorched earth but when it brought its nose up and sniffed it smelled a large number of scents, some smoke, animal scents, but it picked a tiny scent of gunpowder, thought it was extremely faint, it locked onto this scent.
Its eyes now glowed blue forming a scary sight to see as more lightning struck the ground near, seemingly being controlled by an unknown force. It raised it paw forward as it crouched low, its muscles tensing as more bolts of lightning struck the ground around it.
Whatever monster did this, he will gladly tear them to pieces.
Meanwhile...
The full force of the giant thunder storm boar down upon this large mountain with great power.
'Seems, like those Nat-geo guys were right, Nature really is a force to reckon with'
The wind howled past the battleship at hurricane speeds, uprooting nearby plants with weak roots and blowing up boulders that weighed as much as a secondary turret, some tons.
Though the wind was strong it wasn't enough to stop this super battleship as it continued to plough through the ground at a reduced speed of 15 knots, she didn't want to take chances so she reduced speed.
But the wind wasn't strong enough to lift, 80,000 tons of pure steel and destruction. As the wind gusted past her turrets it brought with it a downpour of rain wetting her turrets metal and her superstructure. (oh my~)
Since this was a mountain, massive amounts of water condensed to form a raging river that luckily was some 1 km from where she was but the destruction it brought of the area was mind boggling. Even the trees and bamboo's whose roots went deep were easily uprooted by this raging river making Haruka relieved that the river wasn't flowing towards her.
But we all know that this MC might be plagued by the all-powerful jinx if the mental nuke wasn't an indicator.
The ground around it started to shake slightly until it grew in intensity making the surrounding trees topple under the immense shaking. For Haruka she wasn't left out of the shaking as her hull was repeatedly resonating with these quakes which felt like one of those vibrating chairs.
She immediately knew that this wasn't a good sign as she looked around her surrounding area until a sparkle of brown caught her view that was in front of her, looking closer she saw that this brown was moving until she realized that this brown thing was a raging river that was bigger than the previous one, she saw.
This made her think of a way to escape as even if she was over 80 thousand tons, she remembered seeing a river literally sweep away a whole transport ship for the military and that was on earth.
She immediately raised her speed to flank speed as the shaking was reaching its peak Haruka saw a smooth ledge that she could use to get to higher ground.
Pushing her engine to the limit she swung her bow to the right as the raging river was soon approaching. A few seconds stretched into minutes as she quickly drew closer to the ledge but the muddy river was also quickly approaching.
It was a battle of time that she barely won as her bow hit the ledge and rose slightly as it powered up onto the higher ground, however, Haruka had failed to remember one key factor that's constant and can never be removed, Gravity.
As her bow was raised upwards due to the slope the battleship found that she needed to fight more against gravity and this was simply impossible as her engine was already at maximum output. If only she had a nuclear reactor this could have been solved.
Mother Nature won this round as the raging waters slammed into the battleships hull forcefully turning it to the left as before when it was going up the slope it was turned to the right. This forceful turning brought a massive centrifugal force that was simply too much for Haruka to control with her rudder. Thus, she was at the whim of the mighty river that turned her a full 180 making her bow point towards the direction she came from.
Now that she wasn't fighting gravity her sped naturally increased to 32 knots which the fastest, she ever sailed at. As she accelerated down the mountain her mind was going over the entire situation thinking of a way to save her until an idea pooped up.
A battleship is meant war and destruction and who said it wasn't allowed for her to reshaped the terrain. (the governments)
Her secondary's came online as alarms were sounded within the turrets and from the depths 3 glossy black shells were loaded up for the 155mm turrets. Using her split vision, she controlled both turrets with fine precision.
The one at her rear fired 3 nuke shells further behind her so as to make a diversion for the water to fill. Her sights found the perfect blast area and fired with a loud
BOOM!!
3 shells cut through the air like butter. The shells left behind a trail of steam as the bullets vaporized the water coming into contact, the shells soon came into contact with the ground and a blinding white light illuminated the surrounding dark area, as the sun was blocked by clouds, almost as if the sun had risen again before a resounding quake shook the entire area where Haruka was before a large pressure blast past her destroying some glass panes and fragile instruments.
The rain could be seen visibly pushed back by the pressure wave as even the droplets on the battleship were swept away and a calmness reigned over the entire area before a scorching heat swept through them as on water remaining was boiled away and a small mushroom cloud hanged where the explosion occurred.
The breather was only for a few seconds before a large gust of wind filled up the low-pressure zone created by the blasting sending the kicked-up dust into the atmosphere and also radiation.
The effects were almost immediate as the water soon stopped as it was redirected into a deep crater that was filling very quickly.
Haruka didn't miss the opportunity as she swung her bow hard to the left onto the raised shelf of rock. The only problem of a battleship was that they had a large turning radius and even though the Yamato was tilting ever so dangerously to capsizing she still remained upright until she completed the turn a few seconds later and pushed her ship onto the raised shelf just in time as the crater had filled up quickly and the water was going back onto its original path.
As the raging river flew past her, Haruka sighed a sigh of relief as she looked at the surrounding area. It seemed that this raised shelf only had 1 path that curved around the mountain if her eyes weren't lying to her which was better than following a river bed up a mountain.
Haruka continued to brave the storm but bolts of lightning hit dangerously close, scorching the air as the smell of ozone filled her nostrils, that is if she had a nose that is. The bolts of lightning didn't scare her until a sound echoed throughout the mountain.
At first, she thought it was the wind until an even louder roar followed after that. This sound put her in full alert as her gun swung round to cover every possible angle. The roar bought her flashbacks of a recent battle against a prehistoric animal.
Her engine fluctuated violently and resemble a person's heart beating quickly due to fear, seconds passed but this seemed like an eternity to her as she waited for a hidden enemy to emerge from the bamboos or something but this never happened.
'Dammit, calm down don't let your fear take the better of you. Think just think'
Haruka calmed herself down but the lingering fear made her release her 2 spotters. Yes, flying aircraft is not allowed but it isn't impossible. The plane's engines rumbled to life as they were placed on each catapult but there was a difference this time.
One of the spotters has a bomb, a 500kg bomb, that would be used to attack any suspicious thing they found but the bomb would greatly limit their range so she needed to work fast.
With a loud hiss, the 2 planes were catapulted into the air as they climbed upwards to get to the operational height which, due to the thunderstorm, wasn't that high to avoid most of the bad weather.
With a simple thought she made the other plane carrying a bomb form up with her as she pushed the plane's engine to the max heading to the general area where she felt the monster was. She was playing the hunter but she didn't know that the hunter was being hunted.
Below the planes a pair of blue eyes tracked these weird creatures that piqued its curiosity as it could hear the strange buzzing noise from a mile away. Even from the dark stormy sky it could see the green paint on these unfamiliar creatures from the flashes of lightning.
Normally it would lose interest in these creatures very quickly but its nose tingled as a familiar smoky scent came from these 2 birds. A deep growl emanated from its throat as it quickly saw the similarities between these 2 scents.
It quickly raised its wet body off the cold damp earth as a spark of blue light emerged from its eyes as it traced these creatures quickly moved towards the east at a fast past but it was faster than those flying creatures as it crouched close to the ground its body tensing and few sparks of electricity sparked of its fur into the ground before it bolted forward at amazing speed.
Its speed tore through the air and the landscape as it let a mighty roar at those 2 planes, in a challenge for those that desecrate the immortal wolf.
Haruka meanwhile, was scanning the area under her with her high vantage point, trying to look for this elusive monster. It takes a while for the roar to reach her.
She quickly descended while her wingman remained at his current altitude as bombers don't like getting up and personal. Her engine noise was droned by the continuous downpour of rain and the roar of the wind which gave her some stealth in a sense, but this didn't really matter as she flew some hundred meters above the tree line.
Upon closer inspection of the forest below her, she found nothing too out of place apart from those blue eyes.
Haruka immediately did a double take as the blue eyes quickly closed the gap as something jumped out the tree line and when Haruka laid her eyes upon this creature she couldn't help but be in shock.
This brief pause gave the wolf enough time to close the gap as it outstretched one of its paws, its claw gleaming in the little sunlight as a show of its sharpness.
Seeing the distance close by the second Haruka pushed the engine to its hardest as she made the plane tilt upwards trying to climb away from the danger. Time slowed down as the distance closed ever so slowly and seemed like the wolf was going to snag the kill until the distance grew ever more making the claw miss the body but it managed to rip out the floats beneath the aircraft.
Instead of being an injury this actually helped Haruka as she felt the air resistance decrease by a lot making her zoom past the forest before she banked hard to the right only to see that the wolf had disappeared.
This confused her as a giant wolf that is slightly smaller than her hull could disappear so easily. The question was not an easily answerable one as a rustle in the trees to her left caught her attention only to be staring into the jaws of the beast.
This sight made her mind go into overdrive as she banked hard to the right, with the increase in power she got from losing the floats she just managed to barely escaped the jaws of the beast that quickly went into the forest before disappearing from sight.
This still confused Haruka but she just chalked it up to a weird invisibility spell or something along those lines. Instead of being close to the ground Haruka raised her altitude as she thought of a way to bring down this beast and one dangerous idea popped into her head and her reaction was that,
She loved it.
She pushed the plane into a straight climb with confidence as she knew what she was doing. As the plane was going straight up it started to slow down dramatically as the engine begin to sputter before stalling completely but this was all needed.
With the help of her ailerons, she managed to pint the planes down towards the ground. As gravity begun to act on them Haruka commanded the other plane that was close to dive to the same spot.
Under the influence of the absolute gravity her plane soared through the air silently in a straight descent. White trails of air formed on the wing tips as she continued her speedy descent. Her altitude reader was spinning crazily as she drew closer and closer to the ground. A pair of blue eyes locked onto Haruka already as it jumped out of the clearing reappearing into her vision as its paw was stretched outwards for a lightning quick swipe.
If Haruka had a mouth she would be smiling like a maniac as she banked slightly to the left before thinking of one word.
'Drop!'
A few meters above the bomber tailed very close to her plane and managed not to collide staying hidden in her shadow before releasing the bomb it held.
Haruka had already restarted the sputtering engine and pulled out of the dive with her ailerons on full force, if there was a human in there the g-force they would feel would be great, to the point they would pass out.
For the second time the wolf missed the plane by an inch and this frustrated it immensely before its sharp eyes saw a black object approach it. Its senses started going off signaling it to dodge but with no wings or engine it couldn't possibly dodge.
The only thing it heard was a whistle before a resounding smash hit its head before an explosion followed after sending it into the forest below with immense kinetic energy causing it to create a rumble when it landed.
The force of the land was enough to create a small crater where the wolf stayed for a few seconds dazed before remembering what had occurred. A loud roar sounded from the crater as a bolt of dense lighting struck exactly where the wolf was creating another small explosion that rumbled throughput the area.
When the light show ended the wolf got itself out of the crater but it wasn't the same as before. Its fur glowed with a blue tinge that looked to be shooting off at high speed like lightning.
The wolf had underestimated these creatures and had paid the price but now it won't be like then. A growl emerged from its throat as it put one paw in front of it, breaking the ground before it as it surged forward scorching the earth as it bolted through the forest with a dark blue light trailing behind it.
Its eyes glowed dark blue as it let out a roar before running out of the forest at blazing speeds and right above it was its 2 preys.
The wolf roared again before slamming its paw hard into the ground cratering the earth below it as a blue glow surged around that paw as something mystical was about to happen.
Above the 2 planes the thunder storm surged greater than before as a deep rumble sounded from within the cloud before all hell broke loose. Numerous bolts of lightning rained down from the cloud as it was attracted to the only 2 metallic objects in the sky.
The bolts of lightning soon found their marks as they all converged on these planes before a bright light illuminated the entire air almost to the point of blinding a person's eyes before it disappeared and at it's wake a deep rumble sounded throughout the forest, strong enough that it shocks the entire ground with its rumble.
With our 2 spotters we could see them escape the blast relatively unharmed as only some paint was charred and blasted away.
Haruka herself was giving a painful jolt but the pain wasn't her concern. Her concern was now this seemingly lightning wolf that appeared before her. Sparks of electricity sparked from its body and anything it touched was scorched black.
Haruka, was about to think of a quick escape plan until her engine begun to sputter.
'Ahh, f--, no don't give out me dammit'
She could feel the engine die and give out on her making her lose speed and altitude at a descent rate where the wolf could see with its own eyes. It seemed like that lightning strike was more powerful than it seemed.
The wolfs eyes focused on this plane like a wounded animal before its body released another charge of electricity scorching the earth even more as it then bolted forward to meet its enemy head on.
The wolf, sensing victory within its grasp, slowed down its assault as it watched its prey hurdling towards it. Its eyes locked onto the wounded plane, and its mouth opened wide, revealing rows of jagged teeth.
Haruka was in a tight pinch, time seemed to slow down as she could see the wolf slow down as it's individual bolts of lightning flashed slower than before. In her eyes she knew she was toast, even if she dodged this first attack, she knew the plane won't have enough energy to dodge the next attack making her a sitting duck.
Her vision tunnelled as it focused on the wolf whose mouth was open ready to bit her into bits and pieces of metal. She saw herself in despair until a single thought crossed her mind.
'If this wolf wants me then it can have me!'
The plane pitched forward even more as its speed increased sharply due to gravity as she was one a one-way collision with the wolf but she had one more trick up her sleeve, or wing because she was a plane, a Fire Mission.
As the wolfs jaws closed in with her plane, Haruka focused all her mental onto her battleship. In that moment of despair, she thought that if she can command her planes how can't she command her own battleship to do her bidding.
'Fire all guns on this position!'
Though the thought was a simple command, a command is still a command as the mighty battleship which was only sailing in 1 direction seemed to awake from a slumber as its main guns and secondary's swiveled around for a broadside salvo.
Her secondary's were the first to complete their rotation especially the phoenix turrets as its barrels were rotating at full speed and the belt feeder was ready with a mix of AP and HE.
After her phoenix turrets finished her 155mm secondary's finished adjusting their barrels as HE was loaded into the barrels and finally her main punching bags finished last as their mighty 18.1-inch guns lifted up into the dark sky full of power of mighty HE shells were loaded into the barrels.
With an earth-shattering explosion, the fiery shells from the Yamato's 18-inch guns were fired into the dark stormy sky followed by her 155mm that let out a smaller but still powerful blast and lastly her new turrets let out a continuous ground breaking explosion as their roar echoed across the mountain as a stream of 8 inch shells continued to pour out of their barrels leaving a streak of yellow that formed a line as the shells cut through the air at over supersonic speeds, similar to the other shells.
Back to Haruka, the wolf was only seconds before eating her and she used all the oil left in the plane to do a very tight barrel roll, this shift in position was so sudden that the wolf missed it target completely.
Its eyes locked onto the cockpit of the strange creature as in the brief flashes of lightning it thought it could see a face within that creature before a resounding boom sounded smacked and center on its forehead.
This attack left it again in a daze, it was the second time something exploded on its forehead and this left it angry and confused.
Haruka just so happened to switch vision to the remaining spotter which was flying above the entire battle, watching the events unfold with a hawk's eye view.
She could see the wolf struggle to regain its focus but at the same she could feel a slight thump and right there to her left-hand side, she could see numerous shells glowing a faint yellow arc across the sky as the neared their target with great precision.
If she had a mouth she would be grinning in this change as the hunter become the hunted. The first shell to arrive was of course the massive 18-inch shells as its weight made it have a higher terminal velocity than other shells making it arrive on the scene with a bang literally.
The wolf, with its sharp ears, could hear the air roaring as these shells grew closer. When it's saw these death bullets its eyes widened as the shells closed in, their fire and fury rivalling its own elemental power with pure explosive power.
The creature's instinctual ferocity met its match in the destructive force of naval artillery.
The cataclysmic collision between shell and beast illuminated the sky, a symphony of thunderous roars and blinding light. Multiple booms echoed across the mountain as more and more shells slammed into the general area of the beast, the explosion releasing a wave of heat and pressure that equally scorched and made the earth tremble and break apart under the continuous onslaught of artillery.
The wolfs body convulsed, its roar of agony echoing through the heavens. The world entered a brief silence as the rain of death ended leaving darkness and silence to envelop the mountain.
The fierce battle between monsters ended with a victory. Haruka didn't even wait for the smoke to dissipate as no monster no matter how hard could withstand what was thrown at them right now.
She piloted her plane back to the battleship which was still sailing in the same which led into a wide shallow crater from where she could see that is as this raised route was like a one-way path, if you don't like it well there's no changing things as your stuck with it.
After another bumpy landing where she almost over turns due to stones again, she switched vision to her ship again.
She could feel a kind of hunger cling onto her and this really made her confused as this hunger persisted until she realized that it was actually her fuel.
Sailing up an incline seemed to have strained her engine more than she thought. As she made her way to the crater a feeling of danger washed over her making her guns rotate to cover every angle as the feeling of danger was greater than the one, she felt before.
Her hull continued ever closer to the crater until its bow dipped as the incline decreased. In this moment she decided to focus solely on the crater ignoring anything that happens behind her as her hull went further into the crater.
This decision was pretty stupid as directly behind her a giant pillar of blue light ascended into the clouds, making into crackle as lightning converged into this pillar as a rumble made its way through the mountain. The lightning in the clouds converged again but this time it formed a shape and this shape was that of a lighting full with its mouth open as if it was roaring and its target was none other than Haruka.
In the crater, the battleship finally levelled out at the bottom and what appeared to be shallow in the air was now pretty deep as the crater's depth was like stacking 3 of her conning towers above one another.
The only saving grace was that her turrets each has the elevation to reach the crater rim. The bad feeling, she had didn't go away as time passed, it seemed to grow after ever second almost as if a beast was going to kill her.
Time went by slowly for Haruka as what felt like a few minutes was only a few seconds. Her battle instincts were haywire as she couldn't stop herself from tensing as her turrets were ready to fire at a moment's notice.
The sound of a rock falling broke her from her thoughts as a shadow was cast upon her or rather, she was illuminated. Directly on her left side was a creature she thought had already been killed at the explosion of that many HE shells.
But like every other damn monster in this world, they beat those odds and then come up with an over powered skill and that was the same that happened right in front of her.
Around the crater more wolves like the one she was looking at emerged one by one as they circled her completely. If haruka were still human she would be sweeting bullets at the moments as it seemed that not even, HE could make the cut and kill this beast.
Though she could visibly see some blood and wounds on it she knew that they weren't severe and they didn't boast much of a threat as the only threat to it was this creature from another world.
With great coordination all the wolves roared in unison, the combination shook the ground beneath them as a testament to their strength as they sky as well flashed multiple bolts of lightning seemingly agreeing with it.
Haruka could feel the roar shake her body as it reverberated with the steel and composite armour that made her up.
'If you can't be brought down by normal explosives, I guess I'll have to go a little bit nuclear'
Alarms blared within the turrets of her main guns and the secondary's as they reloaded their barrels with these miniature suns.
Meanwhile the wolves weren't just sitting idle its mouth was alight with a deep blue lighting that let out multiple sparks of lighting making them look like a wolf from hell.
The 2 monsters seemed to finished at the same time as multiple resounding booms shook the crater and the ground. From the battleship 15 shells of different sizes were blasted into just slightly below the wolves as Haruka knew if she wanted to fight them, she'd have to make them get on her level.
The wolves released multiple beams of dark blue lightning that let out sparks of as the beam surged forward.
The first to impact was the nuclear shells and as soon as they made contact with the solid rock wall, they let out a flash of blinding white light as a massive pressure wave pummelled the rock to powder causing the walls to collapse under the causing massive explosive force of nukes.
The wolves themselves were sucked into the vacuum as the air rushed to fill this vacuum.
The multiple beams of lighting each hit the metallic battleship and erupted with a dazzling bright white-blue colour that rivalled that of the nukes as a massive quake rumbled through the crater making some rock structures break into piece.
Due to Haruka's body being made of steel and the mix of carbon fiber and Chobham gave her good electrical conductivity that discharged the massive amounts of electricity into the ground, though it did short circuit her electronics but she never had any use for them since she came on land. But the lightning did cause her immense pain as it seemed like could affect her soul.
A cloud of dust covered where the wolves fell into and this was the perfect opportunity as Haruka unleashed her phoenix's, their high rate of fire sending spear of light into the smoke before repeatedly exploding.
Each turret slowly turned towards each other to make sure that they didn't miss any wolf. When Haruka stopped them, their barrels were slightly glowing in the poorly illuminated light.
With a simple command, her search lights blazed into the quickly fading smoke, though they didn't help much they were still useful.
However, the corpses of wolves she thought she would find were non-existent, this sent her mind into overdrive as she tried to scan every possible angle but this was futile as a massive high-pitched sound tore through the crater.
Sparks flew from Haruka's left side a claw mark tour through her hull armour though it wasn't as instant like last time, it showed the armour was doing its work, but the claws of this still pierced through a mix of steel, carbon fiber and Chobham, what would be considered the pinnacle of armour in her world was cut through by simple claws made of keratin.
She was quick to retaliate as her 4 phoenixes on her left opened up firing blinding into the air. Though it's seemed like 1 bullet managed to land a hit and exploding with extreme destruction as the pressure wave slammed into her hull and out of the flames and smoke came out not 1 but 4 more wolves.
With their invisibility gone her Pheonix turrets went hard to work as they spewing out retribution for the ship as they swivelled as quick as the hydraulic mechanism in them allowed them too.
Multiple explosions occurred behind each wolf as the ground itself tear apart at the destruction of these weapons. 1 wolf just happened to come close to the reticule of her first turret and without being told she instantly let out a nuke at them.
Ka-boom !
The wolf ears heard this and quickly changed its angle of running but no matter how far you go the sun will always catch up to you.
An intense yellow glow flashed behind said wolf before it felt itself lose its feeling of the ground as a massive pressure wave slammed it into the nearby wall making it confused for some seconds and this was all enough as 2 phoenix's and a secondary let loose.
Multiple AP and HE rounds slammed into its body before 3 Type 99 shells slammed into it from the front secondary and with nothing but rock as its back How can it survive as the blast forced it back into the rock as the pressure wave compressed its body making it spit out blood.
Once the blast was over its fur remained scorched from the nuke as its lighting was only a bit but somehow it managed to cling on to life but wasn't for long before another loud bang sounded.
It could see 3 massive shells slowly cut through the air as they spun in the air with a yellow tinge seemingly attracting the wolf's attention before the wolf erupted into a white light.
From outside we could see the cave that it had made collapsed under the nuke as tons and tons of rock buried it under and sealed its death.
Though it was a clone it contained a piece of the wolfs soul thus it let out a roar in pain as it felt its clone die under the pile of rocks.
A burst of lighting surged from it but this was drowned as 3 nuke rounds hit both it and the other 2 clones.
The combined effect pushed them to the wall where they were pulverized by the phoenix as judgement bore down upon them as nuclear judgement.
The main wolf could feel the other 2 clones die at the hands of the nukes and it was soon its turn but the feeling of pain and all its emotions surged into magic power.
As soon of all 3 main guns roared aiming to kill it in one blow a massive white light engulfed the entire area as all shells except the 18 were pushed backward due to the massive pressure wave, only the 18-inch shells managed to go forward before striking the ground causing another explosion of light equal to the white light to emerge.
Both pressure waves slammed into each other with destructive force as a deflected wave soon followed after though this one was weak.
In the white light an impossibly loud howl emerged from it. The howl was so strong it made stones float, literally float in the air as the ground shook incredibly. Once the howl ended it revealed the wolf in its final form.
Its fur was now pure lighting as its eyes were only glowing orbs of lighting. Haruka stared at this form before a roar come from the wolf shaking her hull to its very core.
Haruka looked at this new wolf with wary eyes before responding with a roar of her own.
Ka-boom!
Boom!
DA-DA-DA-DA!
All turrets opened up on this wolf as numerous shells rained down on it. The wolf growled before charging forward at incredible speeds.
In this burst of speed, it could see the shells spin in the air as they came closer. Its claws swiped at these shells destroying them one after another before it saw a big black shell. A blue light engulfed its claw as it slashed these shells, its lighting coating its claw making slice through the shells like butter.
The shell was now split into slices like bread making the pressure mechanism fail when it was most needed.
This new berserk wolf charged forward slicing and dodging these shells with speed not seen before. Haruka herself could only see the shells hit nothing almost as if they had bad aiming, even with the combined firepower of her 4 of her right phoenixes she couldn't cut the wolf into bits.
Her main guns roared again but this time a surge of blue flashed over the wolf as it was suddenly in front Haruka's hull, it gave out a mighty roar as its left claw slashed across the hull and continued as it ran along it, leaving a single claw mark along her hull.
The speed of this wolf was fast enough that it didn't give her enough proper time as a human's brain still required thinking. The wolf jumped onto its bow as its charged straight into the turrets where it first went for those fast firing one.
In the span of a second it appeared before the turret's sight almost as if it flashed as it claws sliced the barrel into 2 before it plunged both claws into the turret houses and ripped it from its casing.
The wolf roared again as the storm rumbled with it as it threw the ripped the turret into the next turret, smashing their barrels.
The wolf roared again as its rage poured out of it, when it finished it saw a flash of bright light to its right before an impossible massive force slammed into sending it flying for a while before a blinding white light enveloped its figure as the air roared and a pressure wave blast out and the ground beneath it rumbled in unison.
It seemed like the wolf still underestimated the battleship; thus, it got hit by an 18 inch to the side.
The berserk wolf slammed into the ground and even before it could recover 6 more nukes pummelled its position and the combined explosion sent it deep into the crater wall as it spit out blood from the pressure of being crushed.
The wolf looked weakly at this strange creature as more lights could be seen exploding from it. Haruka at that moment did not give it a chance to get up again as she slammed numerous nukes into its tunnel. She will never again feel like what that rex did to her again.
In that bit her remaining Phoenix turrets also switched to nukes but she didn't realize this as she focused on pummelling this wolf to oblivion.
Multiple nukes went off, multiple quakes followed after and it was only until one 18-inch nukes went off and collapsed the earth over it letting a huge mushroom cloud hang over the place where the wolf was.
Haruka's engine/heart was beating wildly as air was struggled to be pumped into them only for her engine to stop right when she was about to escape, her fuel tank empty.
Haruka couldn't help but sigh as she closed her field of views and focused on calming herself down while she patiently waited for her contract demon to appear.
It didn't take long before a familiar aura came into her senses.
When she opened her eyes, she came face to face with her demon contractor who was female, had 2 demon wings behind her that weren't fully extended. Her black armour, which seemed new, was full of cracks and dents showing that she wasn't doing nothing while waiting for her. Her long purple hair was strewn messily behind her but even with this her glowing red eyes had this attraction that would make any human fall in love in a heartbeat.
Currently her eyes were looking around at the seemingly war-torn crater that doesn't look like the original an hour ago. The landscape was transformed from the multiple nukes that went off; this even left a dark brown colour in the sky showing the pollution of the air in its finest but hey at least there wasn't any nuclear treaty stopping her right.
Before she could speak to the demon, she outstretched her hand as a glowing light was emanating from them. From the rubbles of various tombs of these clones and the main body, 5 souls flew out before they converged into a small ball of golden light that arced blue lightning in different directions.
This lighting effect seemed to shock the demon greatly as a gleam formed in her eyes as well as a sinister smile on her face. With a flick of a wrist the soul disappeared to who knows where as the demon slowly descended onto her hull.
Once she landed, she gave a low whistle as she viewed the destruction that the wolves made Haruka's body.
"Those pups really did a number on you"
Hearing her say pups ticked Haruka off, she wanted to shout at her to go and face them herself but she kept her thoughts silent before she went onto what she dreamed off. Upgrades.
These new monsters were repeatedly finding ways on sneak attacking her and it seemed that pressure sensors won't be enough as they can just slice through them is what she observed, moreover, she lacked the response time to deal with these fast-moving creatures.
All these problems could be solved with just one solution The AEGIS system. The aegis was her worlds peak military system able to do things humans can't in a span of a second, combined with its ultra-modern systems it would be the greatest addition to her killing efficiency.
As these thoughts boiled in her mind the demon could read it all and though it didn't know how contraptions worked, she knew as long as she got souls, she would fulfil her part by expending large amounts of magic power to manifest her thought, but there was a problem.
"Sorry for intruding on your thoughts. But you do realize this is a fragment right"
Haruka was dumfounded, you're telling her that what she fought wasn't even the main body!!!
"As such I can't give you this upgrade until the other half is obtained."
At that time the mountain itself shook with great force as the thunder storm clouds circled around it like a tornado wanting to drop as an even louder howl merged from the peak. This howl contained power; it contained strength making the others of its fragment look like a pup's howl.
The shock wave even blasted the demon's hair back as the shockwave swept over the mountain.
The demon turned to look at Haruka's main turret that was pointing at her as she could feel the pleading in its gaze.
'Please, lets me have this upgrade I'll even take a smaller upgrade if I defeat the main body!'
In desperation Haruka shrunk down her upgrade range of the next upgrade as she was in a very sticky situation as such, she would gladly give up her upgrades.
The demon thought about it as a wave of pressure rolled off from the mountain.
Sure, it would be better but it would also compensate for the goblin souls she obtained as well.
"Fine, when you defeat the main boss, I'll only give you a small upgrade"
With a decision met the demon quickly took out a simple black dagger with red colours on its blade and handle, sliced her palm as a single drop of blood fell out before splashing onto the deck of the battleship.
A combined flame of black with red highlight burned across the battleship as everything was fully restored and on top of her coning tower 2 rods begun to spin as 2 grey hexagonal plates were placed on the tower.
A hole sweep of electronics emerged in her vision as the AEGIS system powered up.
When the flames receded, the demon left Haruka to deal with the new immediate threat of the true wolf king.
[Upgrade: Aegis system]
The Us military ultimate air defence system, that's is a highly robust system that can deal with multiple enemies at the same time, having reaction speeds a human can't even compare to.
Its features a fire control system, navigation, weather and even missile systems as it was built around having vertical launching equipment which our MC sadly doesn't have yet.
(Though with the anger of a god she will get her upgrades no matter if it's just adding a stabilizer mug)
Done, wish my editors could go faster but yeah, next chapter will be a filler that goes the demon's life in the abyss or hell.
