Reincarnated in Banshee Town

Chapter 31: The Rabbit's Lair 1/2

Ethan drove silently down the road, while Sugar, in front of him, drove Job's car. Things were quiet in the car, I could only hear the noise of the engine.

Carrie sat in the back, manipulating the firearms in her hands. After a while, he suddenly said:

— When did you join them? I didn't know they were friends now.

Ethan looked at her in the rearview mirror, but said nothing. Carrie, who was sitting in the back seat, looked out the window without understanding and continued:

—I just want to help.

—You don't need to explain anything to me. Everyone has the right to choose how to live. Well as long as you have you can bear the consequences.

After Ethan replied, the car was silent again. In Ethan's opinion, Carrie was a person with an extremely complex personality. He could betray Hood for the sake of his family and he could also risk destroying his family.

After moving forward for a while, they saw a police car coming in the opposite direction. The police car suddenly turned on its lights, then quickly turned to follow them and turned on its siren. Ethan patted the wheel.

"Damn it"He thought, finally understood what he was feeling at the time. A black guy in a black hoodie in an expensive convertible, even he would stop the car to inspect it. For police officers, seeing Sugar was like a donut, too sweet not to bite him.

He sighed and had no choice but to follow Sugar and stop the car. Ethan wanted to look in the left rearview mirror to see who it was, but the police car's reflectors illuminated the rearview mirror completely in white, so he didn't rush out of the car. Something was happening in the city now. Although Max was said to have returned home safe and sound, several colleagues at the police station were in a state of great mental stress. He didn't want to suddenly open the car door and shoot someone.

Not long after waiting, the man sitting in the police car came out and lit his face with a flashlight. Ethan squinted at the bright light.

—Ethan, why are you here? I thought you had gone home to rest —Brock said, re-lightening the flashlight behind him —. Mrs. Hopewell, where are you going? Her son Max has returned home safe and sound. Hey, what are you doing?

Brock couldn't help but raise his voice when he saw the gun in Carrie's hand.

—Brock, calm down —Ethan said, quickly opening the door and getting out of the car, taking him aside —. The people in the car ahead were Sugar and Job, Hood's friend. Carrie told us it was because Sheriff Hood turned himself in in in return so that Max could return home safe and sound. We found a way to find out where the kidnappers stayed and now we are going to rescue Hood.

— How the hell did that happen? That was why he couldn't contact Hood. So why didn't you notify the FBI? —Brock asked, frustrated as he scratched his head.

Ethan replied helplessly:

—We are against time, if we mobilize many people they could kill him.

—Wait here, don't move. — Brock said angrily, pressing on the radio.

Not long after, another police car passed quickly. After stopping, Emmett and Siobhan got out of the car.

—We run immediately after receiving the notice. What's going on? —Emmett asked.

Brock kicked the stones away from his feet.

—Ethan said Gordon's son was able to go home because Hood traded for him. Now that Hood has been captured the kidnappers.

Carrie opened the car door:

—I asked Ethan for help. Hood traded for Max to return. If we don't run in time to rescue Hood, if we don't hurry, maybe they'll kill him.

— Why didn't you tell us if Hood was in trouble? —Emmett looked at Ethan.

Siobhan approached:

—This is a serious kidnapping. The one who was kidnapped was our police sergeant, but you didn't ask for our support.

Brock lost patience.

— Do you want to tell us what happened? Or we can go back to the police station and chat.

Carrie had no choice but to say:

—The person who caught Hood was a man named Rabbit. He is the leader of a criminal organization in New York. I had some trouble with Rabbit, and this time he came after me, so I kidnapped Max for revenge. There was some connection between Hood and me, and he decided to step forward and help me get Max back, so now I have to go save him.

After hearing this, Brock was embarrassed to keep asking questions. As a man, it's not surprising that he did anything for that kind of thing. At the same time, he felt sorry for Gordon.

Carrie saw that Brock was silent and said anxiously:

—Please, we should go save Hood right now. Your life is in danger at any time.

—No, I can't let them go it's crazy. — Brock shook his head repeatedly and looked at Emmett.

Emmett stretched out his injured arm and said:

—You have the last word, that's fine with me.

Siobhan clenched his teeth, stepped forward and said to Brock:

—If those people had captured you or any of us, Hood would have come to rescue us without hesitation, just like that time on the night of the fight, he did not hesitate to choose to defend that girl.

Brock looked at Ethan again. Yes, this guy had already joined and his position was very clear.

Brock let out a long sigh and walked back to his police car. The next moment, they saw him walking menacingly holding a Remington.

—I don't care where these gangsters are, they find out that this is our damn place and not their damn playground.

Because there were a few more people, Ethan closed his car and transferred to Siobhan's Chevrolet truck with Brock, while Carrie got into Job's car.

Feeling the atmosphere on the car becoming increasingly strange, Ethan had no choice but to raise his hands helplessly.

—This time I was wrong, I should have informed you earlier.

Siobhan and Emmett were still not speaking, and Brock was driving the car in silence.

In front two men dressed in black stood guard outside the door of the abandoned metal processing factory.

Ethan and his group moved in two teams, left and right, walking through the tall grass, had the advantage of the night darkness with them and after walking a certain distance, their clothes were stained with dew.

Suddenly the two guards fell down, two accurate shots to the head had done the job.

Siobhan lowered the muffler's mouth and looked Carrie aside.

—I didn't expect your aim to be that good.

—Thank you. I've been practicing since Banshee's last attack.

With his whereabouts so hidden, Rabbit did not know that Hood's cell phone was equipped with tracking software and that two people were stationed at the door of the abandoned metal processing factory to protect him. You could only say that he was careful enough.

Ethan quickly stepped forward to catch him and found a hand grenade in the clothes of one of them sitting in black. He held the thing in his hand and showed it to his back. Everyone behind him looked at each other in silence.

Emmet dried his sweat and asked Brock nervously:

— Are you sure they want to continue?

— Do I look safe? —Brock looked at the egg-shaped grenade in Ethan's hand, exhaled heavily, and couldn't help but grab the Remington shotgun in his hand —. I don't know how Rabbit got this type of ammunition, but if he can get M4 rifles for military use, I don't think he couldn't get any more of these.

Ethan took the grenade, put it in his coat, and put it in space. Then he picked up the two M4s from the ground and looked at everyone.

Sugar patted the double-barreled shotgun in his hand with an expression of pride on his face. Job shook his head. Carrie shook her hands and turned the two Springfield DX9 pistols.

Ethan got up and handed over the two M4s he had in his hands to Siobhan and Emmett. They both only carried pistols. At this time, the firepower could be strengthened a bit.

After walking a little down the brushy road, the sky had lit up and we could already see not far away the abandoned red metal processing factory, with a faint glow of fire inside.

—Wait a minute, let's discuss the —Brock plan stopped everyone — This place only has one entrance from the front, what's the plan?

—We have no advantage in numbers, nor the firepower to attack them head-on, even Hood could be hurt, so we must take them by surprise. Wait up front and I'll find a way to sneak in from behind and create chaos, and when it draws fire you come in.

— And then what? What are we going to do? —Brock asked quickly.

—Rescue Hood and kill everyone else.

After Carrie spoke, she walked carefully to the back of the factory. There is no other way, I can only adapt to the circumstances of this moment.

They had no choice but to flank the factory's front door. Ethan took Sugar and Job and walked to the door on the left. Brock also walked forward with a shotgun and slowly approached. There was no way, the wound on Emmett's hand had not yet healed, so Brock had to muster the courage to be up front.

There was still a short distance from the door and Ethan could already vaguely hear footsteps coming from inside the factory. He raised his hand and the group stopped. He waved his hand down again, and everyone else followed him and knelt down, patiently waiting for Carrie's movement.

Ethan turned around and Job looked at the light gray sky, wondering what he was thinking. Sugar continued to wipe the sweat off her forehead. He nervously smiled at Ethan and then continued to mutter something.

Before long, Ethan's ears moved and he heard two faint shots from behind. At that time, steps were heard inside the factory. A man dressed in black held a cigarette in his mouth and left the building.

He walked into a bush with his gun on his back, opened the zipper on his pants, prepared to urinate when he saw a group of people kneeling on either side of the door.

Brock held his breath and gestured to stop repeatedly. Carrie hadn't made much noise yet, so it would be too risky to start right now.

"drowned bang"

Another shot rang out, but was followed by a scream and the birds freaked out.

The man in black who was urinating first raised his head to look at the sky and then turned his head in horror. When he saw the men heavily squatted on either side of the factory door, he felt a chill in his body and the small flow of water was interrupted.

Sugar couldn't take it anymore at the time. He raised his double-barreled shotgun, shot him directly in the chest. With a "bang", the man in black standing in front of the grass was violently thrown to the ground.

— Now! Now! Go!

Sugar screamed loudly, raised his double-barreled shotgun, first passed Ethan, and ran to the door. His movement surprised Ethan and he reached out to catch him, but he didn't catch Sugar.

He was a good player in his youth and attacked very hard. Right now, there is no other option, just hurry up.

Ethan took the M4 and followed it quickly. The factory building was not empty. There were several concrete pillars and piled debris. There was also a tower several meters high.

As soon as they entered the door, the men in black inside the factory heard the shots and quickly got up to defend themselves. Suddenly there was a strong flurry of shots.

Sugar took the lead, raising his double-barreled shotgun and about to fire.

—Burst.

A stream of blood splashed on his shoulder and Sugar fell cleanly to the ground.

— Sugar!

Job ran forward, grabbed Sugar and pushed him aside. Brock didn't have time to aim, so he pointed his shotgun inward and then helped Job grab Sugar and hide.

"Bang bang bang ..."

As Ethan and Siobhan advanced, they kept pulling the triggers. The bullets were fired, causing the men in black inside to disperse and flee. In an instant, two men dressed in black were hit on the head and fell backwards. The movements of his hands did not stop. Weapons with tight triggers spat random bullets.

For a moment, bullets flew everywhere in the factory and a sound of blows was heard everywhere. When Ethan was about to continue his action, several more men rushed through a nearby passage. He quickly collided to one side and rolled Siobhan to one side behind a block of human mid-height concrete. Where he was standing, suddenly a row of bullet holes exploded in the wall behind him and the cement splashed everywhere.

Ethan, with firm hands but a fast heart, pulled the empty magazine out of his M4, the urgency pressing every move. The metallic sound of the charger falling to the ground was mixed with the echo of gunshots and the screaming drowned in the factory. He looked askance at Siobhan, who was also in trouble.

— Siobhan! —Ethan shouted, his voice cutting the chaos around him.

Siobhan was cornered behind a concrete pillar, the M4 in his hands now as useful as a wooden stick, with the empty magazine hanging from the chamber. He looked desperately around, looking for a spare that didn't exist. There was no time to lose. With a sigh of frustration and determination, he dropped the rifle and pulled out his pistol with a steady movement

The enemy shots did not stop, each bullet a reminder of how close they were to danger. Siobhan partially rose, barely enough to poke his head out and shoot accurately. His shots were accurate, but every time he peeked out, he risked everything. I knew I couldn't go on like this for long.

— Ethan, I can't hold this much longer! —screamed, his voice tense from the pressure.

Ethan, still changing the magazine on his own rifle, felt the urgency of the situation squeeze his chest. Siobhan's M4 had been her anchor, and now she was relegated to a pistol, with enemy pressure lurking in every shadow. She was shooting with the skill of a veteran soldier, but the truth was clear: they were running out of time and ammunition.

Finally, Ethan fitted the new charger into his M4 with a satisfying click. Without wasting a second, he rose just enough to cover Siobhan, firing a blast of bullets at the enemy that kept them cornered.

Siobhan took advantage of Ethan's respite, firing his pistol in controlled bursts, but knew that this desperate exchange could not hold much longer. They were both on the edge, but with each shot, they stood up, determined not to give up ground.

Sugar leaned behind the cement pile, panting as the pain radiated from his wounded shoulder. Despite his expression of suffering, his determination remained intact.

—Sugar, how are you?

— I'm fine! —responded with a growl, but his voice betrayed the exhaustion that was beginning to settle.

Job and the others were around him, shooting cautiously, aware that a single mistake could cost them their lives. Every time one of them tried to move forward, a flurry of bullets forced them to back off. The abandoned factory had become a hellish battlefield, with the sound of gunshots echoing on the metal walls and shadows of enemies moving through the rubble.

— We are being cornered! —Job yelled, clenching his teeth as he recharged his weapon —. We have to do something, or they will tear us apart!

No one dared to rush forward; the situation had become a deadly game of patience.

Ethan, covered in the rubble and staring at the enemy's movements, knew they had to break that impasse. If they continued in that position, they would be overcome by the overwhelming force of the enemy. He felt the adrenaline running through his veins, sharpening his senses, and in a flash of clarity he remembered something.

—Siobhan —whispered, giving him his M4 with a determined look.

Siobhan took the gun, but his attention was quickly diverted to what Ethan took out of his pocket. It was a grenade they had taken

— What are you waiting for, to be killed? —Siobhan asked, the urgency in his voice reflecting the danger of his situation.

Ethan nodded, without wasting another second. He quickly removed the safety clip, his fingers working accurately while checking his position. The entire time, enemy fire kept hitting his cover, but he stayed focused.

Ethan's heart was pounding as he raised his arm, feeling the weight of the grenade in his hand. With a smooth and determined movement, he threw the grenade forward, watching him draw a bow in the air.

The silence that followed was deafening, as if time had stopped. All eyes were fixed on the small object flying towards the enemy position. The grenade landed with a muffled sound, rolling slightly before stopping.

A second of stillness.

Then the roar.

The explosion shook the factory, a shock wave that shook the walls and raised a cloud of dust and debris. The screams of the enemies were mixed with the sound of the metal tearing and the concrete exploding.

Ethan did not wait to see the result. — Now! —screamed, and without hesitation, he launched himself forward, followed by Siobhan and the others. The confusion caused by the explosion gave them the opportunity they needed.

The enemy, disoriented by the explosion, tried to reorganize, but it was too late. Ethan and his team were on them, relentless. The bullets flew, the deafening noise of the battle filling the air as both sides struggled to survive amid the chaos.

The impasse was broken. Now all that remained was to see who would be left standing at the end.
